First time eating here as we were playing as a tour guide for our friends and they wanted clam chowder; but the pike place market already closed. Its an alright restaurant. I had Italian Primavera with Halibut and Shrimp. Although the pasta was homemade, it really had no flavor. The halibut and shrimp were so overcooked they were like rubber. The so-called freshly baked sourdough bread had been microwaved and was like rubber. Very disappointed in the food. Food was okay. 4% Service charge was a surprise. Not on the menu. Not mentioned in advance. No printed check or bill. When we asked for the bill, server comes over and verbally tells us what he's charging us for and we gave him a credit card and then he tells us the total. He fails to mention that they're also charging a 4% service charge for seafood up charge at a seafood restaurant. Manager can't explain why they're charging it. Says they've been doing it since he started. No idea why. Yikes. Seems like a deceptive money grab from tourists. Not the employees' fault but creepy. Totally understand why this is a 3 star restaurant!! It's way overpriced for frozen fish and shrimp. 27 dollars for "Alaskan Halibut" and chips. 200 dollar check shouldn't be frozen seafood. Ouch!! My family and I were visiting Seattle before a cruise and were hungry when visiting Seattle's waterfront. Naturally, you would think to yourself this must be the place to eat seafood (hence the name and location next to the water). I normally don't write bad reviews but my first impressions wasn't a good one. First the dishes weren't cleaned properly. I saw food particles still on glasses and cutlery. Second, we asked for an outside table. But they put my dad (who is in a wheelchair) directly in the sun. When we asked to switch, it wasn't still in a good spot. Our server wasn't also very helpful. We needed refills on this hot day and we saw only two tables in his section. But we saw other parties (particularly of a certain privileged race) getting served properly and quickly than our table. To top it off, the food wasn't what you would expect next to a waterfront with such a high price tag. So to sum it up; If you're a tourist. This is a tourist trap. You're better off finding quality food at pikes Market. To the managers please check your staff. I was celebrating my wife's birthday at The Fisherman's Restaurant, and we were shocked by the decline in both service and food quality. I'm comparing this to my experience 10 years ago, when the restaurant had the feel of a genuine seafood place with a great view. Now, it has been reduced to what feels like a cheap fast-food spot. Don't be fooled by the fancy name. They serve low-quality frozen fries, and the fish itself was poorly prepared by an unskilled chef, completely ruining the taste. The staff was also rude and unprofessional. To make matters worse, we were charged an extra $20 beyond what was shown on the check. Do not go there, you will waste your money. We had some time to burn before our harbor cruise, so figured we'd grab a bite nearby. We were seated quickly and decided on the coconut shrimp, crispy fish tacos, and the halibut tacos. I've ordered coconut shrimp at many establishments and the breading is typically pretty thick, sometimes too thick, but here it's nice and thin so you get the shrimp flavor along with the cocoon it instead of coconut with a hint of shrimp. When I asked if I could sit there I was put at the back table right by the kitchen on a sloping floor - my food would have literally slid into my lap. Such a great magical place for an afternoon in the sunny sunshine of Seattle. If you have a gorgeous day on the gorgeous waterfront ask for a table on the patio and you will be dining right underneath the ferris wheel and on the waterfront. It is so sweet. I loved the fish tacos. SO DELISH, 3 out of 4 people in my party got them. Kenny was our server and he was fantastic - a pro with legacy I hear. He's been there for awhile and has the whole entire thing down pat. He's good at timing and customer service. The hostesses were over the top kind. My 87 year old dad, who struggles walking was so welcomed and well taken care of. These people really care about the 'taking care of people and making memories' business they are in. Took a few minutes to figure out where the front door was lol, the walk has all these little cute stores, got a bit side tracked. Seated right away, beautiful view and our server Jared(hopefully spelled correctly) was a delight. Help with finding a meal I can eat. I always view the menu to restaurants first since I have an incredible amount of food allergies, so once I knew what to order but unfortunately some of their items are premixed. I didn't have an opportunity to take pictures of everything but my lunch date had the crab feast and I ordered the garden salad and the BLT with grilled halibut with grilled vegetables on the side. These vegetables were a show stopping! Grilled perfectly and the sandwich was very well put together. The crab feast was a plateful thankfully, but I couldn't figure out if all 3 types of crab was plated or just 2 types. Was here as part of a large dinner group, so we only had a few limited choices to order from ahead of time. This being Seattle, fish and chips seemed like a no-brainer. Sadly, it was disappointing. The serving consisted of three smallish fish sticks (not battered fillets like I'm seeing in some of the photos here), some so-so fries and a serving of cole slaw. It actually might have been a kid's meal, now that I think about it. A real let down and not at all the quality or flavor I was expecting. Several others in the group said the same thing. For this price, one would expect excellent service and food. We were extremely disappointed. Upon arrival we were taken up to a small room in the restaurant where we were told to wait for our waiter who would take our drink orders. We waited for 45 minutes before anyone came to take an order. We were finally led out to the Great Wheel at about 7:30. (Our reservation was for 6:30). We had one small loaf of bread, Cesar salad and 3 shrimp in a glass. After a few rotations we were given the dessert and the entree - salmon broccoli and rice. The food was cold, but probably would have been good if it was warm. The views were great, but for the price, it was not worth it. We asked if the tip was included in the price and our waiter didn't know, so we tipped him- found out is was already included in the price. We enjoy the Fisherman sister location in San Clemente often and this location is equally great. The clam chowder was so good when we ate here the other day, that we decides to go back for lunch and give them another shot. Our server was much more personable this time, however we still never recieved drink refills. The bussers did however keep our water topped off through the time here. This time we ordered the coconut prawns and crab dip as starters. The prawns were okay nothing to rave about, but the crab dip was delicious unfortunately my bite was molten lava and I burnt my mouth, but it was so delicious. We both got bread bowls, one with traditional clam chowder the other red chowder. I am not a huge seafood fan and am very particular about clam chowder there is only a handful of places I will eat it and this one is by far the best I've ever had and had to have it again before wr travel back home. We dined outside, and there was a nice breeze but some heat from the sun. For the most part our waitress did a excellent job and our service was much better than the other day. I ordered a dozen raw oysters, clam chowder, and steamed snow crab with a side of asparagus and broccolini. The seafood was fresh and good. Service was just ok. Ok. So we didn't get to do the whole arcade but we DID get a chance to walk thru it. And had the opportunity to play a few games and look around. This would be something every kid has to do when visiting here in Seattle. Games are 25 cents. They also have a giant bubbleg machine to buy gum from. They have the carousel here. But it closes early. I think the girl said it closes at 8 or 9. Cause we got there just before 10 to ride the giant wheel. And they were already closed. There's also a theater inside there somewhere. Its entrance is on the side where the Ferris wheel is. I'm not sure if it's a movie or a tourist attraction for fun. But they have workers depressed up in getups escorting them to the doors.
