Its one room with a long bar and about 10 tables The chilaquiles were solid at $9. The pork burrito had tender pork chunks but next time ordering it without the tortilla. Went here for breakfast today and I'm already planning my next visit back and who else I can take with me. I had the chilequiles with beans and my friend had the breakfast burrito, and both were excellent. The chilequiles were made with freshly fried tortilla chips, a delicious tomato sauce, and the beans were silky and delicious. We also really enjoyed the fresh bread, butter, and both the mild and spicy salsa. Be careful with the spicy salsa because it has quite a kick to it, but I thought it was delicious. As we were looking at the menu, I keep seeing so many other things I would love to try next time, both for breakfast or lunch and dinner. So glad we found this hidden gem and for such great service from the lovely waitresses. They checked in on us multiple time to make sure we were happy with our food and even brought me extra beans for my food because I had basically devoured them. So good. read more

This is the definition of a dive bar. It reminds me of an American Legion hall. Service was great. The bread was amazing!! Food was just ok. We got a burger combo, a burrito, an omelet, and pancakes and our total was $65 which is insane. So this place is like 2 minutes from my house. I've lived here for 9 years now, and have drove past Taylor's Cafe about a million times. I've always looked at it in wonder ... as in I wonder how a diner with no windows attached to a truck weigh station can be any good? That was my story and I was sticking to it. Well today i was on Yelp trying to find the "Best Breakfast in Chino" and Taylor's popped up. I read the reviews and they were for the most part very positive. So I said to myself, "Self, let's go check this place out." Honestly, I was freaking amazed at how good the food was. Like seriously amazing. I ordered the pancake special (2 pancakes, 4 slices of bacon and 3 eggs). The pancakes were about 1/2" thick, and cooked perfectly. The bacon ... omg, the bacon! I swear, some of the thickest sliced beautiful bacon EVER. And this is the real deal, not some of that Costco 20-lbs. for $6 bacon, this was local grown and cured. The 4 slices of bacon was more than enough. The eggs were good ... the menu said three eggs, but it looked more like 1.5 eggs, so I had to ding them .5 stars for that. On a side note, the fresh homemade salsa was off the chain. Super flavorful and had a back end that kicked like a mule! IT's really good, but use with caution. The other .5 ding was ambiance. Totally had the "only-cafe-in-a-one-horse-town" vibe. It reminded of the town I grew up in, where all the locals would come hang out and drink coffee. Look, I know this is 2 clicks up from a standard truck stop, but it really wouldn't take much to freshen up the place a little. But what do I know? The place was packed. By the way, they DO have windows, you just can't see them from the front. If you are like me and have seen this place and said, "Hrm ... I wonder what it's like in there?" Go. Go in a check it out. I love places like this. Located on the edge of Ontario farmland in the middle of nowhere, the exterior may frighten some people away. It's the sort of dive-looking place that you think, when you open the door, the jukebox will stop playing and the entire place will go silent as the locals turn to stare at you as you walk through the door. But no! Everyone is very friendly and you're welcome amongst a room full of locals. The interior is minimalistic with dark wood wall paneling. The front half of the cafe is a bar and beyond the bar are several tables. It feels like a place where Walter White would come to meet Jesse. Our server, who I think is also the owner, told us to sit anywhere we wanted (we chose a table next to some old guys who were playing a dice game). She provided excellent service and was so nice - I really liked her. She was proud of her restaurant and the food they serve, you could just tell! And all the locals who walked in greeted her warmly by name. Great news! They serve breakfast until 3pm. Even though it was well past noon, I opted to go the breakfast route rather than ordering one of their sandwiches or burgers. While we waited for our orders we were given a basket of the best warm homemade chips and fresh salsa I'd ever had! I ordered the Pancake Special: Two gargantuan pancakes served with two eggs (I requested scrambled) and 4 thick pieces of bacon. It was an absolutely delicious and hearty meal. The pancakes were superb; I know it's odd to praise pancakes but they really were excellent. I also asked for some iced tea. They provide unlimited refills so they just bring a quart container of it to set at your table to fill up your glass as often as you want; I love that! The prices are really phenomenal too. This little place has been here for 87 years in Chino, the current owners have been there for 23 of them. Closed on Sundays. But that's OK, we can work with that. And happily I can now say, Centro Basco is not the only Basque restaurant in town (not that there is anything wrong with CB). I say Basque with reservation, as the menu is not exclusively Basque. The owners are a husband and wife team. The husband is French Basque, the wife Hispanic. Their menu, a modest blend of both cuisines. And with a lot of love added in. If you order a Basque breakfast, $10 gets you 2 eggs, 1 Basque sausage, 4 bacon slices, Spanish (Serrano) ham, breakfast potatoes, and a couple of pieces of hand sliced Monterrey jack cheese served with fresh french bread and REAL butter. After several years and dozens of visits, I still think Taylors is the best around for a true authentic Mexican/American/Basque Breakfast for a reasonable price. They are also a lunch and dinner spot, I've only had breakfast though. My favorite item here is the breakfast burrito with bacon and their hot chile de arbol salsa. The burrito comes with your choice of protein, beans, eggs, potatoes cheese, or any combination of your choosing and its hefty-half will usually fill me up. Other Specialties include house made Basque sausage, steak breakfast plates on Saturday, huevos rancheros, chilaquiles, pancakes, machaca, chips and salsa, etc. There are really two businesses in one, a truck scale in the back and restaurant. The restaurant is super clean but dimly lit inside with a dark wooden interior. I opt for seating at the bar but there are tables as well. Claudia the owner is always so hospitable and Ana is the resident cook, she is really good at what she does. Food was...ok. This is a 100 year old building that used to be a Dutch dairy and then a gas station. Not very big . It's basically a dreary bar with an added low ceiling eating area.. We went there due it's 4 1/2 star rating. I would not give it 4 1/2 stars. That's for places that take your breath away or surprise you with OUTSTANDING cuisine. This does neither. The waitress was nice but overwhelmed as she was in charge of the entire eating area by herself. As the customers increased she became less available. Chilaquiles we're good, but the accompanying refried beans tasted like wet flour. Tri tip breakfast available only on Saturdays was better than I expected, but it was not enough to save the day. Blah country fried potatoes too. It's in the middle of nowhere. We are not putting this place in our rotation. read more

Was hanging out at Chino Airport visiting a friend who's been coming to the airport over 30 years, we were hungry for lunch so I open Yelp! and bingo Taylor's Cafe pops up. Great reviews and just 7 minutes up the road. My friend says "I've been eating lunch here over 30 years -- NOBODY has ever mentioned this place! Their loss! It's a VERY non-descript building with no windows! However hidden treats await inside. There were 4 of us -- 2 ordered the Basque burger - extremely delicious and flavorful. Other 2 got the breakfast burritos and raved about them. EVERYBODY really enjoyed lunch and all said they would definitely come back. 5 stars are based on food quantity, taste and overall value -- not the best food ever, but really good food for the $. Moral of the story - don't judge a book by its cover and just because a bunch of old curmudgeons "have never eaten there or heard of it" doesn't mean it's not great! Yelpers! Best chilaquiles we have ever had. Eggs are organic and delicious. French bread with butter and salsa is very delicious. The butter is real the salsa is one of the best I've had. Pancakes are super delicious. We usually prefer our own homemade pancakes but Taylor's Cafe is one of the few restaurants that doesn't taste like it's from a mix. The pancake size is huge and comes with a big slab of real butter on it. My husband is crazy for their breakfast burrito that doesn't have typical sausage or bacon but real big pieces of meat and sauce in it. We haven't eaten anything at Taylor's we haven't liked. Ambience is like an old bar with no windows in the country somewhere but the food belongs on a trendy brunch menu. read more
