This is my go-to for boba. They always prepare it right. I get taro almond milk tea with 0% ice and 25% sugar. Tapioca pearls are always nice and chewy. Packaging is pleasant to hold, sturdy. If you order from Door dash for pickup, sometimes they include a cute sticker. If you order right at the cashier, depending on the order it can come out quite fast. Seating is cute and comfy. YUMMY bubble tea!!! A little too sweet so try 70% sugar. Nice service. Very cute restaurant and very clean! Insta worthy yes yes yes yum yum yum I was super excited to try Tbaar bc the only other place I've had it was all the way up in nyc!! I think Tbaar is mostly known for their fresh fruit teas and fruit/veggie smoothies, but I saw they had the brown sugar milk tea and I'm on the hunt for a good one. Anyway, bbtea was really good! Runs a little sweet but you can adjust your sweetness. Indept review below: Came here at night so it was prob less busy than during the day time. The shop was very cute and clean. Chairs and tables were perfectly aligned. Service is friendly and patient. They have board/ card games to play! They also have more seats in the back of the store!!!! --Black sugar milk tea: Heard mixed reviews, but I thought it was pretty good!! It was in a cup with the plastic lid so you can't shake it to mix the sugar boba syrup stuff with the tea, but swirling it was perfectly fine. A little sweet but this flavor is prob the sweetest, most sugar flavor of all bbtea flavors soooo LOL. Would recommend less sugar level if they let you! -- Lychee Lime green tea: Really good too! Kinda tastes like lime gummy bear or limeade. Didn't taste the lychee or tea that much so next time I'll get less sweetness. V refreshing. White bubbles are really good. -- Fresh Brewed Oolong Tea w. Milk: I do not recommend lolllll. It tastes like seaweed LOL. -- Strawberry and Yogurt: Pretty good! Again slightly sweet, but not as sweet as the other drinks. Maybe bc the yogurt kind of cuts the sweetness? Overall good bbtea!! I would recommend adjusting your sweetness bc it's actually really sweet. If you like great crepe cakes, then you will love TBaar. I am not sure what else to tell you lol. Their teas are very good and comparable to other high quality tea shops. But their dessert menu is what gives them their edge. If you go to KPot next door, you need to come here for dessert. read more

Ive been wanting to try this bubble tea shop for some time now, I legit drive by every week going to work. I finally did after getting lunch with a friend. The cashier/barista was helpful in navigating the menu and she made our drinks really quickly (Well...we were the only two customers). BROWN SUGAR MILK TEA: ***GET YOUR LACTAID PILL lactose intolerant friends*** My friend ordered this drink and I had a few sips and it was just sweet milk. It didnt have the rich brown sugar taste that other places have. You can even tell by the color in the picture that its straight up milk. I personally would have liked a stronger brown sugar taste, but if you dont then this is the drink for you. BROWN SUGAR MILK TEA MATCHA: I really wanted a little bit of caffeine, so I ordered this drink because of the matcha. I thought it would taste like a matcha latte, but I guess the brown sugar altered that potential taste? Theres definitely more matcha powder than your normal matcha latte, the drink had more of that bitter flavor. I did not hate the drink, but I didnt exactly enjoy the flavor. If someone surprised me with this drink I would be happy and drink it, but I dont think I would order this again. Oh and I wish they cooled their tapioca pearls before serving, I personally do not like super soft ones, I need a little resistance when I chew. BLUBERRY WAFFLE: I dont think this was on the menu, I think the manager (maybe?) or worker was experimenting. My friend and I were in the shop for awhile talking, so he asked us if we wanted to try the blueberry waffle (dont deny free food). It was pretty good, I personally would like it to be more crispy (so it breaks off easily) and more blueberries. Overall, would come again. They had lots of games to play with friends too. This is definitely a nice spot to catch up with a friend and to go to after a nice meal. read more

Every time I've been to Tbaar my drinks have been solid! I always get the green milk tea but today my drink was not sweetened at all. I asked the barista to add more sweetener and I'm not sure if there was problem with the machine or something but afterwards my drink still tasted the same. My milk tea basically only tasted like milk so I'm a bit disappointed. read more

For a place that just opened, I think Tbaar is hitting it off great! I love their teas, as it comes with such a strong flavor. I got the peach green tea with milk foam and the regular black milk tea. I found that the peach green tea with milk foam was alright compared to the milk tea. The milk tea was much stronger in flavor which I loved. The tapioca was not overly chewy but also wasn't hard! The place was cute and is quite aesthetic. I like how they offer smoothies too, which I plan to come back and try sometime! However, I have heard from another friend where he felt like his drink was very watered down and his milk tea was not strong at all, which was surprising. It seems there may be some inconsistency in the drinks, but I would still say give it a shot! read more

Everything about this experience was great, from the service to the atmosphere inside. However, the drink itself was not the best I had. Im not certain if it was the tea they used to make the drink but it tasted like clorox for some reason. When we moved our straw up higher it definitely tasted less of that so it couldve been the preserved fruits that made it taste like that because they were all at the bottom. But im not for sure if it was the fruit or the tea or a combination of both that made it taste like what it did. Nonetheless I had to throw it out after a few sips just to be safe. I hope to give this place another try and not just based off one experience, however after this happening it's hard to find myself coming back. I've read a lot of good reviews here and had high expectations coming in. The drink definitely looked good as you can see from my picture but it did not live up to the other posts reviews. I got the grapefruit and yogurt drink it was sweet and not bitter at all. I like how they use real fruit in their drinks and they're very generous in the amount of fruit they put in. There are plenty of parking and plenty of seating area. There's seating in the front, but don't forget to check out the back. They have comfy couch and large group seating area as well as a bench. It's nicely decorated and good music. Its a great place to hangout with friends. read more

We came in the day after Christmas, so the place was pretty quiet, no customers or waiting line to worry about. I hadn't been to TBaar before, but it seems to be located in a quiet enough corner of Rockville where you wouldn't have to worry about any lines or long wait times for your boba! Our order (brown sugar bubble milk tea and panda green milk tea) was given back to us very quickly! Decor is very cute! There's a succulent at each table. Only wish I remembered to get the mango crepe cake, would've made for an excellent photo-op. No complaints about the drinks themselves! Regular ice & regular sugar Panda green milk tea had a subtle herbalness to it, but speaking as a sweet tooth that hates herbal drinks, it totally wasn't a bad taste at all! It blended very well with the natural sweetness of the drink and was overall a good drink! I REALLY like how TBaar includes the price of certain toppings with the menu price of select drinks. For example, I asked for bubble to be added to my brown sugar milk tea (which would have been an extra 50 cents), only for them to tell me that bubble is included with the price! For the panda green milk tea, we got white pearl and (i think) bubble included in the price! With all of this into account, boba prices are definitely comparable/similar to other places in the area (except you have to pay extra for toppings anywhere else!) I believe I haven't seen any other bubble tea places do this, and I think this does give TBaar a bit of a competitive edge over other places in terms of price. read more

With Lab Cafe closing down in Rockville, I needed a new go-to bubble tea spot. There have been many that have opened in the past few years, though I've never really been a fan of any of them. However, I think I may have found my spot here. I came back home to MoCo over Thanksgiving and came here twice. Both times, it was relatively quiet - maybe because not many people know of it yet. I ordered the Strawberry Yogurt both times. I'm a huge fan of yogurt teas, yet I haven't seen any bubble tea spot in MoCo have yogurt as a flavor. I also love strawberry drinks, so I was excited to see the flavor combination on the menu. They made my drink in less than 3 minutes, and it tasted just like I'd hope it would - sweet, slightly tart, and very refreshing. Prices are pretty comparable to other bubble tea spots. I'm sad they don't have a rewards card or anything to reward returning customers. I'm a fan of the cups that they serve in - might be a small detail, but I like the lids that allow you to sip right from the cup and/or insert a straw. I also like how large their menu is. Plus, they have crepe cakes available here, which I appreciate. There aren't many tables inside, I think I counted 3 in total, all sharing a long couch. They have a few table games, and the vibe is very similar to Kung Fu Tea and the former Lab Cafe. Located in the plaza with Kpot, MOM's, and the old Gold's Gym, there's plenty of parking available. It's a bit further away from the downtown Rockville Town Center area compared to other bubble tea spots, but I think it's worth it.u read more

I had to order online and pick it up since they don't allow walk ins still probably due to Covid but I was excited to try this place! I was so happy they had so many milk alternatives! They had almond, soy, coconut, & oat mllk which I rarely see! I had the honeydew milk tea with oat milk and tapioca. The tapioca was chewy and the drink wasn't too sweet with 50% sugar! We have gone a few times now and really like this place. Very happy with the smoothies and bubble teas. The fruit is fresh and the bubbles are plentiful - what more do you want? The service has been friendly and we live that there are games to play. Bathrooms are clean and fresh too. Been here twice after getting Kpot next door. It's a good place for boba. Due to covid, you can't go inside. You order by either talking to someone (if there is a worker at the front door, not always) or by calling their phone number. Not too long of a wait. I'm shocked how bad this was, I wish I went back to complain or have my drink remade but I was already half way home. I got really excited by all the great reviews. I bought 2 large taro milk teas with 50% sugar and egg pudding. There's hardly any taro flavor and it's extremely sugar. I'm basically drinking sugar milk water. There's no tea flavor either. The texture is extremely weird too, there's a graininess. The best thing has to be the egg pudding. Such a disappointment! read more

New boba shop in Rockville and of course I had to try it during their soft opening. There was a BOGO promotion going on and I ended up getting their classic bubble milk tea and my boyfriend got a mango smoothie. While it was good, the milk tea tasted like there was coffee. I don't drink coffee so it was a bit unpleasant but I still drank it despite it having a coffee flavor. The interior was very modern looking and small with some tables in the front. Very nice and quiet place. Don't think I'll try the milk tea again, but maybe the other drinks I will give a try! read more

Not the best on the market, but definitely not the worst. Listen up my fellow Boba Lovers! I've came here once or twice, and I have a few things to say. This place, first off as great service and inside is really nice. The drinks itself are really beautiful may I add. When it comes to the taste, they have really amazing flavors. They are a bit more on the mellow side, and aren't necessarily as exciting as others. It doesn't have as of a diverse taste as what other shops bring to the table. I usually don't order fruit-based boba drinks, but I saw that the Lychee Lime Green Time was recommended by the staff, and I decided to get that and mixed jelly. It was super refreshing, and the lime helped to perfectly balance out the sweetness of the lychee. We also ordered a Thai Iced Tea which I was nervous would be too sweet, but it had just the right amount of sweetness! While this is mainly a boba shop, they also have great food options, and their Brisket Onigiri was one of the best I've had in the DMV area. I could've ordered three of them just for myself! It was nice and warm, and the beef inside was incredibly flavorful and paired well with the mayo and furikake inside. I highly recommend ordering it! I used to drive all the way to Kung Fu Tea in Columbia but no more! TBaar is the freshest, most efficient and delicious bubble tea in the MoCo area. Despite challenges with Covid-19, TBaar has maintained their boba pickup and provided high quality tea. Love the Panda Green Milk Tea, Brown Sugar Bubble Milk Tea (w/ coffee jelly), and Thai Tea. This was a proper tea with lots of options. They have smoothies and fresh juices as well. There portions are huge. We got the 1. Herbal Jelly & Alloe GMT (4.5/5) the flavor was a bit strong for me but my friend liked it very well. 2. Red bean & Herbal Jelly BMT (4.5/5) this had some bean taste to it but it was good. The jelly in both of the drinks were light and soft and was good. read more

I was really excited to try out a new boba place in Rockville! I saw that they were offering a BOGO on instagram and decided to try this place out. I ordered two drinks which were the Mango Pineapple Smoothie (not in pic) and the Grapefuit Aloe (recommended by cashier). I chose the thai tea and jasmine green tea as the free ones for the offer. These drinks were all overwhelmingly sweetened with syrup. I forgot to ask for less sugar, but as a new store they should suggest customers to alter their orders. . As we're unsure. I thought the smoothie would have real fruits inside but, no... As for the Grapefruit Aloe, the grapefruit slice they put in my drink also did not look fresh. This place has the BEST brown sugar boba and there's no fighting me on it. It's just THATT GOOODD! 10000/10 recommend. Didn't get to stay for a long time, but while I was waiting the sitting area in the front is pretty comfy, neat, and clean. There seemed to be more space further in the back you could also sit too. read more

Since COVID I've been there twice to grab my new fav sprite irresistible dessert drink: brown sugar boba milk tea, or no tea. You just can't give up drinking your daily sugar intake when it looks this good! A great pick-me-up after some Smash Burger, trust me and my taste buds. A hefty size even for a boba drink. They won't let anyone inside the store right now due to COVID precautions -- no complaints there. Drink was stellar, I got 50% sugar and 50% ice with boba and had no complaints. I could taste the tea, and the sugar content didn't drown out the flavor. Perfectly balanced. Boba was well-cooked, firm and sweet without being too chewy. Very cheap for the quality, a rarity in the DMV. I'm looking forward to my next visit. read more

Eventually, another worker came out and helped make the orders. I waited about 15 minutes for my bowl. It wasn't a big deal, but it was definitely longer than I have ever had to wait. There was also another customer who came to pick up an online order and her order didn't get started until after mine was done, so I don't know if online ordering actually speeds the process up.

Overall, the customer is nice, but a bit jaded and young acting, but nothing to truly complain about. Plus, they probably come across a lot of personalities. My main go-to is iced matcha lemonade, which they have made very well (bravo), and they follow instructions. I love the decor in the shop though..my favorite out of the locations I have visited.
