This is another hidden gem that I've been going to for years! I came upon this local Mexican…read moredessert place when I took a detour and I have been obsessed with it! It's your typical local Mexican dessert shop. The place is always packed with locals, and the workers definitely don't speak English very well. Most times, I just point and hope that the cashier will understand what I'm ordering. They have refreshing frescas; my favorite is the horchata mixed with strawberry. Their ice-cream flavors are rich and creamy, with chunks of coconut or chocolate or whatever flavor you decide to get. Plus, the scoops are humongous! The elotes are delicious and filling, and they give you the perfect combo of corn, cotija cheese, mayo, butter, and lime. There's also the table where you can add the extra hot sauce and adjust it to your liking. I do feel judged every time I visit, mainly because I'm the only non-Hispanic person there. However, that doesn't stop me from coming because the quality and price are to my standard. If you go during a slow period, you might be able to sample some flavors before ordering. Everything is made in-house so you know it's authentic and fresh. Overall, don't be nervous, and give this place a try if you want some refreshing & cheap desserts.

I was feeling rather sad for myself after a lousy morning and knew I needed to treat myself to dinner and dessert in an effort to turn my evening around. I'd actually found Henry's a few days ago while looking for a hot dog spot. I'd already devoured a dinner plate when I arrived so a hot dog was out of the question for this visit but I'm totally doing a hot dog, followed by ice cream on my next visit. My split cone, and patriotic rainbow sprinkled waffle cone was soul satisfying! I sat outside and it melted all over. Not a single f given. I left a sticky mess but totally worth it. I'll surely return in the future and hope these two flavors are staples because they nailed them. The cashier made certain that I "checked in" to receive my Andy's Rewards Points and the kitchen staff was super speedy. The vibe was very chill (pun intended). In fact, after receiving our custards, my friend and I sat on the benches outside during a beautiful North Texas afternoon, enjoyed our desserts and visited for nearly an hour.
