We purchased or home before it was built. Our builder installed wooden side gate was already…read morerepaired once and now was sagging, warping and just getting old. It was time to replace it with something sturdier and less likely to warp, shrink, fade. I did a lot of research on what materilas would best hold up to the brutal So Cal summers we have. I also had to keep within the Architectural guidelines of our HOA for fences. I found a company in Orange, CA, called SoCal Gates. I established contact with the owner, Ray, who is a really knowledgeable and personable guy to work with. We scheduled an appointment for him to come to our home to show us color samples of the composite material we would choose for him to use in our steel framed gate. Ray arrived, and had us look at the different colored composite samples while he took his measurements. He then went over with us the color choices and which ones would intergrate best with our home's exterior colors, including the tiled roof and front entry door and garage door. He explained how he visualized the gate would look, once mounted. We agreed on the materials and and the price. He mentioned that his installation pricing included the removal of the gate from the cinder block wall it was attached to, but did not include the removal of the old fence post or the haul away fo the old fence. After hiring another fence company to remove the fence post, back fill with concrete and haul away all of the old fence, Ray told he would've done it had I specifically asked him, for an extra charge. In fact, he told me how to remove the old post myself, so that gave me the impression he would prefer to just to install the gate with the old fence gone and the area prepped for his installation. After the HOA approved my gate plan, It only took a few weeks for Ray to build our gate and to schedule a date and time for the installation. On the day of the installation, I watched Ray assemble and install my agte, He is meticulous and thoughtful throughout his installation process. He showed me how to change out the composite planks if I ever needed to, and how to program our electronic lockest. We are very happy with out new sturdy, side gate. I would recommend anyone needing a new steel framed gate with composite planking to contact Ray.

We just had our gates installed by SoCal Gates, and Ray was super easy to work with, he quoted us our price, and gave us several options for the project. When it came to installation he was very quick. Got to our home first thing in the morning and finished the project in about 3 hours. Our new gates look beautiful.

After getting several quotes and communicating with a few different companies, I decided to go with Superior Fence and I'm so glad I did. From the very beginning, their communication was excellent. They were responsive, reliable, and kept me updated every step of the way to make sure I was happy with the process and the results. That level of transparency really gave me peace of mind. They also offered a variety of options and even took the time to help me look at different stone choices for the pillars so I could find exactly what I wanted. Their suggestions were thoughtful and really helped bring the whole project together. The final result looks amazing. The fence feels sturdy, high-quality, and gives the privacy we were hoping for, while also adding a really nice aesthetic to the property. On top of that, the workmanship and materials are backed by a warranty, which was very important to me. Overall, I'm extremely happy with the quality of work, their professionalism, and the level of communication throughout the entire project. If you're looking for a company that does great work, offers fair pricing, and keeps you informed and comfortable throughout the process, I highly recommend Superior Fence.

I had a consultation with Nathan's Pool Fence and decided not to move forward…read more During the visit, I asked about licensing and insurance, which is extremely important to me for a pool safety installation. I didn't receive a clear answer at the time, and when I followed up afterward, I didn't hear back. That alone made me uncomfortable continuing. Another thing that gave me pause was that a discount was mentioned in connection with leaving a review. Personally, I prefer reviews to be completely independent, so that raised some concerns for me when trying to evaluate feedback. At the end of the day, when it comes to something as serious as pool safety, I need to feel fully confident in the company I'm hiring. Unfortunately, I didn't get that level of reassurance here, so I chose to go in a different direction. I'd recommend others ask detailed questions about licensing, insurance, and policies upfront so they can make an informed decision. This is a child safety product, it's not worth cutting corners over a lower price. **Update after owners response** Thank you for confirming that you are not licensed. That clarification is important, because in California, a contractor's license is not optional for this type of work, t's a basic consumer protection requirement for projects over $500. It ensures a contractor has verified experience, understands building and safety codes, and carries the appropriate protections for the homeowner. Pool fencing, in particular, is not just another home improvement project, it's a critical safety feature designed to prevent accidents. If you're cutting corners by not having your license I can only imagine what you do with these installations. Sad that we, the consumer are not knowledgeable enough to see what looks right and what doesn't. And I wouldn't trust any of your 200 reviews, offering incentives tied to reviews makes it difficult for consumers to evaluate feedback objectively. Reviews are supposed to reflect independent customer experiences, not be influenced by discounts or perks. At the end of the day, homeowners take on significant risk when hiring an unlicensed or uninsured contractor. If something goes wrong, whether it's property damage, injury, or faulty installation, the liability can fall back on the homeowner, and there may be little recourse. My review reflects those concerns so others can make informed decisions, especially when it comes to something as important as safety around a pool. So to all reading the reviews, beware that these reviews are based on receiving an incentive, which obviously is against Yelp's terms and agreements but, I'll let Yelp figure that one out. And if you decide to move forward, good luck! I truly wish you luck! Also, Ismael, try typing responses for yourself instead of having AI do it for you. It's too obvious.
