Man oh man, what a let down. After spending a whole day in scorching Sacramento, refreshment was a must so the hubby and I looked up a new boba place to try with Tea 18 appearing to be the most promising. We got there just as their happy hour started where every order gets a free topping from 6 pm to 8 pm. Then on top of that, every Yelp check-in receives 10% off. Unfortunately, that's where all the positives stop. The hubby and I decided to share the white peach oolong tea with the addition of lychee jelly. While the cashier did mention that adding lychee jelly would alter the taste of the tea, I have tried this combination at many different boba places before so I didn't think much of it. Besides, lychee and peach normally make a perfect marriage! But not here at Tea 18... We weren't drinking boba. We were drinking pure sugar water. The oolong tea didn't taste anything like oolong and the supposed peach flavor was entirely absent. We couldn't even get a whiff of it. The lychee jelly? Strips of sugar. There wasn't any lychee flavor, and together with the "tea," the hubby and I were certain we were drinking liquefied sugar. We couldn't finish it. Even that brutal heat couldn't convince the hubby and I to take a few more sips. So sorry Tea 18, but that's a no from us. read more

This boba place is bomb!! I'm from Bay Area so I'm pretty picky with boba and apparently I could barely find a good boba place around Davis/ Sacramento area. This is my second favorite boba place after Happy Lemon!! Their drinks are not too sweet and have the tea taste. My favorite drinks are Black sugar milk tea (I think it's same as Okinawa) and Matcha fresh milk. This is the only place that the matcha is not powdery!!! Besides all of the great things, this place is not that close to the crowded cities like downtown Sac or Davis. read more

Great new tea shop! I came in randomly after lunch, and I decided to get the Hokkaido milk tea with no extra sugar. Since it uses condensed milk, I thought it was sweet enough. My friend got the mango green tea which was refreshing rather than rich like the Hokkaido. Service was a tad slow, but the workers were polite and helpful. My friend and I decided to try Tea 18 after we went to Yue Huang in the same shopping center. The inside was very nice and they have large screens with their menu. They have a lot of unique options, such as cheese drinks, or cheese foam. I decided to try something new, and I got the Okinawa milk tea, which is a special brown sugar type of milk tea. There was a longer wait because it was sort of busy, but it was very delicious. My friend ordered milk tea with ice cream topping which was also good. They came in tall skinny cups which is unique also, because it is not your typical 16 oz looking cup. I would return if I am in the area. read more

This tea place is legit! I would come out of way and make the drive just for this tea place! They make their milk teas with actual tea leaves (and not just powder or concentrate like other places) Service: The services has always been great and on point here! They work very effectively and they always apologize for the wait (even though we're not waiting that long). Always team of workers right here! Drinks: I think most of their milk tea/flavored teas are on point. I always get them 30% sweet and less ice because that's my preference and they always make it to perfection! My personal favorite is the roasted oolong milk tea with egg pudding or taro. Oh that's another thing, this is one of the few places that have actual taro (blended) as a topping choice! Yum! The only thing I didn't exactly enjoy was their foam milk tea. They have an unique spin on foam milk tea. It's a lot thicker foam (almost like a marshmallow puff consistency) than what I was used to. I've kinda slowed my roll lately when it comes to boba but when I was the Sac-area recently I saw this place and it's high rating and had to make a detour to give it a shot. Walked in and it had a cozy layout and very friendly staff . One thing that rubbed me the wrong way however was that on the digital menu it had language that read " Yelp us on Yelp, Give us 5 Stars and get 10% off per order". I'm ok with check-in vouchers but places that give you discounts for 5 star ratings , that's poor form IMHO and I think they should take this down. I went with my regular milk tea with boba. What I got was actually pretty good but not quite enough sugar for my liking. They had I believe 3 levels of sugar options. Typically I've found that I like 4 or 5 levels just b/c places are all over the map. Tea 18 is probably my favorite boba tea place in the Natomas area. It is located in the same shopping center as Chipotle, Chili's, Thai Spoon, Nothing Bundt Cake, and Poke Fix. I hate that parking lot because it is always packed and no one seems to know how to park without double parking. Just drive around a couple of times and you may find a parking spot maybe in the back. Tea 18 has tables and seating inside and outside. I love the fact that the tea shop plays music, but the volume isn't cranked up so high that you feel like you're at a club like at T4 U. The vibe of this tea shop is way better when it comes to sitting down and getting some studying or reading done. Not to sound hella old, but even the teenagers who come to get their teas here aren't obnoxious like the ones at T4 U. Thank God! As far as the drinks go, they have a variety just like at any boba tea shop. You can adjust it however you like or order it the way it is. I normally order my regular milk tea with boba, oolong milk tea, or taro milk tea with taro in it. I have tried all of those drinks here and have really enjoyed all of them. I like the fact that the drinks aren't overly sweet compared to the other tea shops and the boba tastes fresh! I have ordered drinks with boba 30 minutes before the place closed and the boba did not taste stale and they did not tell me that they ran out of boba either. The prices for the drinks are average and on top of that, when you check into Yelp and show the cashier your check-in, you can get 10% off of your order. Who doesn't like saving money? In addition, make sure you sign up for their rewards program by entering in your phone number so you can get a free drink after buying 10 drinks! The service I have received here have been excellent. The workers here greet you when you come in, they're fast at making your drinks, they're polite, and they get your drink orders right. I have not had any issues at all. I love Tea 18! I've been here many times and the drinks stay consistent. My favorite drink is the Okinawa Brown Sugar milk tea it's delicious and refreshing! It was $4.50 plus 60 cents per topping. I've tried a couple of other milk teas and have always gone back to the Okinawa brown sugar, it's the only drink I order now. I've tried ordering online too for pick up but it's about 60 cents to a dollar more per drink so I just get in line to order. It's not too bad of a wait, about 10-15 mins each time. read more

The service is fresshhh and very kind :) An alright place to study Cept that it closes at 9, there are plenty of outlets and one large table, as well as two small ones. FOOD I got the black milk tea with boba (large $3.50 +size upgrade $0.75) and a coffee latte ($4.00). The milk tea is really great quality! And bobas super soft and sweet. If I were to get the coffee again, I would get full sweet lol. Also I tried the matcha with fresh milk and it was very strongly matcha, yummmmm, best with half sugar. I plan to get the cheese foam tea next time for the hype! Yay! One thing that is weird though is that the cups collapse a little when we suck through the straws lolol. They just opened recently, and today there was a special for 50% off fruit teas and milk teas. We ordered the green milk tea, passion fruit green tea, and ice blended matcha (with no red bean). I had to go to Xfinity and I knew there was a Boba place in the plaza but found it was still a Boba place but a different one.. Tea 18. The ordering and pick up is too close to the front. If it gets busy, people could easily block the entrance and I don't like that. What was different from other boba shops is that I read on their menu that they make fresh made boba daily. Hm. Since this place just recently opened up, I really wanted to try it since I'm in this area often! I ordered the mango green tea with boba with light ice (my go-to order). It was delicious! The boba was just the right consistency and the drink offered plenty of flavor! When I was ordering my drink, they offered two different options which aren't common in many boba places. First, they had a choice of which green tea I wanted-either high mountain or jasmine. Second, they offered the option of putting fresh fruit within the drink, which I gladly took up! Really like this place. I'm so glad they're open right now during the pandemic period. They set up the place with the tables moved out of the way and plastic guard hanging up around the work area. Calling in orders works well. Drinks are always ready when you get there. The staff are always so friendly. Appreciate them being there. The mango green tea is super sweet, so get that if you like sweet. I like the green milk tea. Always had the right flavor. I've never had it where the tea tastes over steeped.the Okinawa (brown sugar) milk tea is also good. Had a rich flavor. The only thing that I kinda question is there cups. Just for environmental consideration. They're very thick plastic. I end up keeping my cups because I feel bad for the environment. I think it adds to the quality standards they present, but.... For the amount of drinks they serve and all that plastic.... Just sayin'... maybe consider thinner? Or recycled? I really like how the place is right next to the freeway. My friends and I went on a Tea 18 date & I really liked the taste of their teas! So we got hooked for a bit I ordered a Black Milk Tea with VERY LIGHT BOBA & extra ice. I ordered it over 6 times and the flavor was consistent. Sometimes it depended on whose making it, then they'll get the extra ice right. Last time the gave me like 7 pieces of ice. But let me tell you what I find so inconvenient. The B O B A. I opted out in getting boba the last two times I went. What's wrong with it? The dayum boba won't go through the straw! Some of it does but majority of it doesn't. Maybe get some bigger straws?? Or it could be that the boba is old and it soaked up the water? I'm not sure. Sometimes it's sweet sometimes it's plain and hard. It's not even fun if you're spending majority of your time hurting your cheeks to suck the boba up. One more thing, the sealing! Two occasions where I was drinking my tea & it was leaking because the seals weren't properly sealed on. Service wise the employees are nice. Cleanliness, it's very clean, but limited seating. Made the drive here just to try their milk teas but they were out of all the milk teas What?!?!Why?!?! That's like a staple for all boba shops so that was kind of disappointing. Got the strawberry ice blend and taro float they were good but were made way too sweet for our taste.
