Probably one of the more unique drinks at Tea top is: Signature alpine green tea - which I haven't drank in a while, but my brother always gets it. If you're not lactose intolerant, try: Milk foam alpine green tea 30% sugar. Personally, I stick with: Passion green tea medley with half honey and less ice, which is pretty solid. Tea top gives a pretty good sized cup of tea. Solid boba place at reasonable prices. Not the place to come if you want the brown sugar boba that's been the hype at places like Tiger Sugar or Yifang, but their normal/classic drinks are delicious. We had the iced matcha latte with boba and the jasmine milk tea with boba. The iced matcha was a solid matcha, maybe just a little less strong than I would prefer. The jasmine milk tea was delicious though. Their boba isn't as soft/melty as some of the Taiwanese chains, but it was still good. I usually get Earl Grey Milk Tea with 3Q, 50% sweetness or Grapefruit crushed ice half sweetened/Passion Fruit Green Tea Medley half sweetened when I need something thirst quenching. The toppings are always generously portioned and perfectly cooked. The boba is cooked just the way I like it, chewy and lightly sweetened. The cups are one size only but worth the price. TeaTop is usually packed, but even when the line wraps around, service is quick and efficient. There are some places to sit but it's usually pretty crowded. I wish this place was closer! This place is like every good milk tea place - strong tea flavor and a very creamy milk base. That's how milk tea should be. My favorite thing? The Earl Grey Milk Tea with 3Qs - Lychee Jelly, Boba and Grass Jelly (maybe other stuff?). I love it all! The best part is that the milk tea taste is still prominent with all the toppings. TeaTop is soo good! If I lived closer, I'd be here all the time. I ordered a milk tea with boba and red bean - 30% sweetness, regular ice. The boba and red bean combo was delicious. Both were already pre-sweetened, so it ended up being a tad bit sweeter than I would've liked. That aside, this will be my new go-to drink at other boba shops. I also like their Taro Milk Tea w/ Sago cause they use real taro for the milk tea and I have seen a lot of places with Mango Sago, but Taro Sago is pretty unique. The Miscellaneous The shop itself have a nice setup for customer to relax and hangout. The shop have indoor and outdoor seating so it won't be a problem accommodating smaller size groups. The staff working are quite friendly and I have yet to encounter any issues. The price of the drinks are reasonable when compared to some of the other boba shops, and they have their own reward system when you purchase enough drinks. Service/Product Quality (3/5): we order two black milk tea with boba and NO sweetener, and a lemon green tea without boba and with 30% sweetener. The black milk teas were just okay. We felt that the tea itself tasted a little watery. Tea top is the best place to go to if you want real taro in your drinks. I hate the purple powdery stuff other places use in their "taro" drinks because it just tastes plasticy and fake. This is the only place I know of in the bay that uses real taro chunks and also blends them so you can actually drink it through the straw. Some places use taro paste or just throw a giant chunk of taro in and you can't really drink it with the rest of the tea which is pretty pointless imo. I also like how they made a poster describing their differences between their taro and other places. It's pretty funny to read. But they do only offer taro in 2 drinks (taro MT with sago, taro MT with pearls) and not as it's own topping so that's something to note. They also don't let you change the ice levels all the way to no ice for this drink which kind of sucks but makes sense since it's a bit more expensive. I also get the earl grey milk foam with egg pudding sometimes because the sweetness of the earl grey tea compliments the egg pudding nicely. The one they make here tastes different from other places too, like it isn't as sweet and a bit creamier so it blends well into the tea. I prefer getting the egg pudding over the boba here because of that, but they do use brown sugar to soak their boba in which gives them extra flavor and sweetness compared to other places that just use regular sugar or a sucrose substitute. read more

The red bean slush was really good; my friend was impressed with the amount of red bean they added. My drink was a little too sweet, but the boba was still really good. Service has improved significantly and the staff is always polite and friendly now. They've added more items to their menu including matcha lattes (though you can only go down to "less ice" and not "no ice"). Tea flavor is pretty good in the tea and milk tea drinks, but not as many tea base choice as some other places. Boba is usually solid, though there aren't that many topping choices. Seating is pretty limited both inside and out, so expect to take your order to go during busy hours. Parking is still pretty easy as its a big plaza with lots of parking. They have stamp cards now, so every 10th drink, get one free (except matcha lattes), roughly ~3-4 dollar value. If they don't offer it, ask for one! They could still keep the rest of the area cleaner and clear our trash more often, but overall, not bad for a milk tea place. read more

This is my favorite passionfruit green tea ever of every store I've been to! The tea flavor is pretty strong, but not overwhelming, so it doesn't taste like I'm drinking syrupy tea! One of the best milk teas in this pocket of the Bay Area. Just discovered it yesterday, but so glad that I stopped to try it out. I ordered the pearl milk tea with red bean at 30% sugar and less ice. This seems like one of their recommended + more classic drinks. The drink was great. The tea flavor was prominent but not overwhelming, there was a good amount of sweetness and creaminess from the sugar and milk, and the drink didn't feel watered down. The red beans were a nice addition to the boba, and the boba was cooked well and had a nice sweetness to them too. This combination was a new but enjoyable one for me, though it seemed like the red bean and boba clumped together on the bottom, so I ended up finishing a lot of the milk tea before the boba or red bean (would recommend shaking it up before enjoying or mixing it every so often). The one other reccomendation is that you can probably scrap the ice if it's not hot outside. I asked for less ice, but it still felt like a lot. EDIT: can confirm that they shake the milk tea with ice regardless of how much ice you ask for, so if ice cubes bug you, you can ask for no ice but still get a cold drink. In terms of price, it's on par with most other milk tea places, but one nice perk is that the sizing seems standardized and built into the price, which makes it an even better deal. I often find that milk tea at other places can be pretty heavy, so when I crave a milky drink but don't want the tiredness that comes with the heavier drinks, I love coming here! My favorite is the Signature Alpine Green Milk Tea with boba. I usually get it with 50 % sweetness and less ice, but if I want to treat myself I'd get 80%! Ever since shelter-in-place began, they stayed open with mostly regular hours, and I noticed the same employees working. Although they don't have online ordering, they quickly implemented safety measures like the large plastic panels at the counter. I first heard about Tea Top as a recommendation from a Taiwanese coworker (the best way to find out about hidden gems), and it turned out to be my Taiwanese fiancé's favorite milk tea place (hidden gem suspicion confirmed). The menu is diverse and encompasses staples as well as specialty drinks, and there's a catchy Top 10 list for the indecisive. Clearly, they know their tea because they have such a broad variety of tea types. Besides black, green, oolong, Earl grey, Darjeeling, and matcha which are all quite standard for Bay Area boba places (we are so spoiled), they have several specialty Taiwanese tea blends. (+++) Oolong fresh milk tea: Very well balanced between the roasty, subtly nutty tones of the oolong tea and the mildly creamy milk. I came here on a Friday afternoon hoping for some good milk tea paired with free wifi so I could get some work done. The boba shop is not that big but there are a decent number of tables for working. They also provide free and fast wifi which is a definite plus. Keep in mind though that the shop is pretty loud and noisy so you have to be able to work well with noise if you want to get work done here. Unfortunately, the cashier was pretty rude and gave customers a very unpleasant face. Hopefully, she was just having a bad day and isn't always like that. As for the milk tea here, I ordered the Signature Alpine green milk tea since it seemed as if people here recommended it. I was stupid enough to get it at regular sweetness when I should've definitely decreased it to 50% sweetness. Writing this review after trying this place out twice~ Another nice boba place in the Cupertino/San Jose area ! Bright ambiance and places to sit with plenty of car parking spots outside due to TeaTop being in a plaza. Although people say the service is a hit or miss, guess I was lucky since the cashier lady was so nice and willing to explain things on the menu and give recommendations ! I went with the Earl Grey Milk Tea, light ice, 30% sweetness because I remembered the last time I came here, the drink that my boyfriend got was super sweet. You can taste the tea behind the milk tea flavor, so I definitely appreciate that since I'm a tea-lover :) Specifically to the Earl Grey Milk Tea, I think I would've preferred 50% for the bit of more sweetness it provides than the 30%. For my drink being roughly over $4 and coming in the largest tall sized cup, I'd have to say it was pretty worth. I got grass jelly with my drink as well and got only a few cubes of it and would've preferred more, but that's just a minor detail. The grass jelly had hints of sweetness, but was hard to get through the small sized straw I used due to it being solid. Some other locations have more squishy, easy to suck-through-the-straw types of grass jelly. I wouldn't mind coming back to try other drinks! Real quick, when the menu says stuff like "Great alpine green tea" ... after talking to the cashier ... it literally is just normal green tea LOL ... "Sun moon high mountain tea, etcetc." ... is also just black milk tea or whatever the last few words are in the drink, so it's nothing extra fancy or whatever - just a heads up since I was intrigued by all these different words on the menu when in fact they're just extra words. read more
