Short Review: I am surprised to say that Teacup is a fine boba tea shop establishment. The reason why I am surprised because their first launch wasn't so great. Not to mention, their decor is almost a copycat of an another boba tea shop in Phoenix (I won't say which) and most of their menus are copies of various boba shop. Of course, that's seem to be the deal now these day, so I am not completely off put by that. Even though new idea and creations are important, it is the execution that is most important because you can have a great idea and do poorly depending on the execution. But regardless of an idea, if you can pull it off with a detailed execution and all, in most cases, your result would be good, but I digress. There service has improves as well as their drinks and inside decor feels a bit different. For more information, read below. Long Review: In the area of Teacup, it is next to Fry's marketplace so there are plenty of parking spot. On the outside, it has a nice creamy beige appearance, and the building itself is tall with a nice bold sign title Teacup Milk Tea & Coffee. Going inside, the decors and furniture uses modern and classic theme, such as wood-look and sleek mold. Right when you enter, the line-up register in right in front. It's good for small to mid crowd control in terms of getting in-line to order, I don't know how they would deal with a rush that has a longer line. I'm guessing they would line up on the outside? Anyway, on the menu, there are selective amount of drinks. They also have snacks like popcorn chicken and desserts like churros and ice cream. I don't often get any snacks when going to a boba shop. My main focus is always boba drink at a boba shop. On separate occasion, I got their milk tea, oolong milk tea, matcha red bean, and Avalanche. For this review, I will mainly focus on their Avalanche drink. Avalanche: One of their specialty drinks, it consist of black boba, pudding, and. thick brown sugar syrup. Honestly, it's difficult to say what kind of drink this is. It taste like a milk drink and not a milk tea. If there is tea, it would be very subtle. And instead of your basic ice cube or pebble ice, it is smooth blended ice, but still remains a liquid drink (NOT A SMOOTHIE OR SLUSHIE, so do not confuse yourself). Like the title of the drink, I picture myself on a snowy mountain screaming my joyfulness and satisfaction of the drink causing an avalanche. However, the avalanche that befalls on me are soft custard and bouncy balls with fluffy snow crashing with colorful caramel river rushing down. During their grand opening, their drinks were either too diluted or too concentrated, but now it feels more balance to drink. There service wasn't terrible at the beginning of the grand opening, but they have gotten better at it. Overall, I would rate in quantity an A and in quality an -A. Quantity control was good in the drink for the given price. For quality, almost perfect. Avalanche is a great drink. If it is a milk drink, then it is perfect, but if it is suppose to be a milk tea drink, then I'd brew tea stronger. However, the minus is about other drinks I have experience. Not all of their drinks on the menu perfect (yet), but for the most part, I can say it will taste just fine as long as they are consistent in barista. If you are near Litchfield, Avondale, or Goodyear, this is the boba place I recommend going for boba drinks. read more

I've been here four times and every time, regardless of when I go, the wait has been over 25 minutes (only ordered one drink each time). I'm sorry but that's a crazy amount of time for a standard boba order. The first time I just thought it was a fluke, second time was Friday night so okay maybe their busy time, 3rd and 4th visit were both on week days, not traditionally peaks times and the place was not busy. To add insult to injury they are barely apologetic. If that were my business I would at least provide a genuine sorry instead of an annoyed one. The drinks/boba are very good, the reason why I've gone back four times and given them two stars instead of one. I keep hoping that it's all just been a terrible mishap and in reality the service matches the product, but sadly no. I will not be returning again. read more

Went into this teashop for the first time, and it's really not one. While they say they make coffee, this would be questionable as well. This is really just a boba tea place. They have a very limited selection of hot tea so I ended up ordering a coffee macchiato, which is coffee with a splash of milk. What I was given was an iced coffee. It wasn't until I left that I discovered it was also loaded with sweetener, so that was $5.50 down the drain. They need a much more specific menu or servers who are explaining what you are ordering. Barely had time to snap a picture of the drinks before we had already destroyed it all The atmosphere is boujie and chic, open soothing layout. The one thing that was a little bit of let down, especially for my husband was the espresso, he was hoping to love it but was sadly, disappointed. However, he had hasn't tried it in a drink yet, so we're hopeful. I know that he would love more espresso options when possible. COFFEE ASSIDE, the popcorn chicken is some of the best we have EVER had, and at such a good price!! I really wanted to like this place, but after coming a couple times with different friends, I am consistently disappointed. This place is really cute and nicely decorated inside but the drinks are definitely below average especially for the price. The boba always seems to taste old or not cooked well and the texture tends to be on the harder side. The drinks are extremely sweet and powdery. read more

Horrible, literally horrible experience. Ordered two drinks, took 30 minutes to get them. When I finally did get my drink, it was wrong. And when I brought it to their attention, he told me I ordered a hot coffee, which I did not. I asked one question about a drink and the guy at the front had no idea what he was talking about or how to answer my question. The other guy in the back was scrambling and on the phone. Went back for like the millionth time today because I am addicted to this coffee and it's next to my work. Love the team that is working right now today on the fourth. All the employees are amazing ,but these two make me feel like absolute royalty. My drink is extra phenomenal today! Thank you for the extra mocha and brown sugar and vanilla! The place is clean, I love a clean food establishment, and the menu shows me that they love milk tea and tea drinks too. Score. I order the Earl Grey Milk Tea and Bubble Waffle (WHAT!!!) with soft serve vanilla and bananas. Lately my obsession with bananas and soft serve has pushed my lactose intolerance levels, but I like to live dangerously. Folks, this was so good! Teacup is a chill spot. I took my kids here to spend some time together. I enjoyed the environment it is very trendy and chic. I had a strawberry matcha with green apple boba and it was really delicious. Not too sweet. My teenage daughter had a plain matcha green tea drink and she liked it. She had me taking pictures of her there so, I'm pretty sure she thought the spot was cool. My son opted for the ice cream churro topped with Nutella and banana. Do yourself a BIG favor... drive to Teacup and order ALL the things! Seriously, sooooo good!! We started with the popcorn chicken and waffle. The chicken was perfection, the sauce was delish (reminded me of Raising Cane's secret sauce) and the bubble waffle was amazing - slightly sweet batter, which paired perfectly with the chicken. We ended our trip with the looped Churro with soft serve, strawberries, and Nutella drizzle. The churro came out piping hot and the entire glorious concoction totally hit the spot. I came in with my daughter this evening Sunday the 27th of December. I was greeted kindly and promptly by the young woman at the register. Absolutely the best boba place in Arizona. I have tried more than I can count, and this one tops them. Definitely a hidden gem in the west valley. Trendy and clean inside. Staff is very friendly. Wait time takes a little longer than usual but it'll be worth it. Photo prop on the wall inside is so cute for Instagram, while holding your drink. I always get the milk tea boba.
