I visited this cute boba joint when I was visiting San Jose and oh boy, their drinks are so good that I had to return the next day! My cousin who frequents here said that they're known for their unique fruity tea drinks. I tried them, but was more blown away by their milk tea drinks. I am more of milk tea fan though. We got the following: -house milk tea with crystal boba: I love this as it had a strong tea taste well balanced with non-dairy creamer -taro milk tea with boba: my boyfriend was turned off by the thickness of the taro chunks, but I loved it as it proved to be authentic rather than powdered. I'm not downing this review for him. Lol. -honey gold tea: sweet oolong milk tea essentially; loved it as the tea taste was strong and the 25% sweetness was just right! Maybe it's the norm up in San Jose, but I was so happy that they had crystal boba!!! Given it was my first time, the staff was so generous about offering me samples on top of the ones that were left on the counter. Fast drinks were made too! Excellent customer service! DRINKS I thoroughly enjoyed my flamingo drink which was a mix of watermelon juice and passionfruit including the seeds. Their piña colada definitely taste like a virgin piña colada. Their drink sizes are generous. Their menu is very presentable with photos that make you want to try everything on the menu. I'm curious to come back to try their ice cream type items. You can decide the sweetness level and add toppings. INSIDE Is bright with seating. I imagine when the weather is nice there I'll be sitting outside too. Their drink actually surprisingly good and smooth. They use espresso machine to make their tea. That's why it taste so refresh and smooth. I can see why their price not so cheap. Great quality teas! First time here and I got the House milk tea w/ grass jelly ($5.50): Ceylon tea w/ lactose free cream (they let us substitute) and grass jelly, 75% sweetness. Strong and flavorful tea with the perfect amount of sweetness. It wasn't too milky and definitely not made from a powder; 5/5 stars! All sizes are large. I was craving shaved snow so I dragged my sisters to come along. We arrived to a super busy parking lot and found this place. We walked in and were greeted and we continued to check the menu. I was already set on mango shaved snow so I ordered the Tropical Delight. I wasn't into the rainbow jelly that came with it. So when I ordered it I asked to replace the rainbow jelly with mango fruit but they didn't have any so I ordered mango jelly instead. For some reason this was really hard to communicate with the cashier because she called my name and said they had added the rainbow jelly on my shaved snow anyways and could give me a side of mango jelly. (SIGH) Upon tasting my shaved snow I didn't get that delicious creamy taste I'm used too. Instead it tasted more watery and it wasn't very flaky. I didn't enjoy it. My sisters got milk tea and I didn't like either of them even though you could customize the drink it didn't have any real flavor. Would recommend downloading their app and ordering ahead through there. They're doing a thing where you get 2 points per $1 spent, and the prizes are actually pretty nice (ex. free drink, metal straw set, glass bottle titanium glass bottle, Teaspoon tumbler, etc.). This location is fairly busy, especially between 6:30 to 7:30 PM, so ordering ahead is a good idea if you're dropping by after work. My experience is that if you order 1 to 3 drinks then expect it to be ready in under 10 minutes. If you have a larger order, expect it to take longer especially during the aforementioned time. I had an eight-drink order at the time and it took 30 minutes. I will say though, this location has the whole doorway set up and not really a difference between the order line and pickup location. It's kind of one and the same. The thing about ordering ahead is that you're supposed to be able to skip the line, but half the time I've spent standing in line to get to the front and the other half standing next to the first person in line next to the register to let them know I'm here to pick up my drink. So Teaspoon is one of the better-known boba chains, and its signature is that they use good-quality tea and they brew to order. We have more boba places like that around now, but they were one of the main places that really popularized it in this area first. There are six locations in the South Bay, seven if you count the one in Palo Alto. This location is located in the Pacific Rim Plaza, which is pretty busy compared to some other nearby plazas. Service here is top-notch too. The two ladies I usually see there are super nice and willing to explain things whenever I have a question or ask for a recommendation. They're great with the tropical drinks and strong teas. If you're someone who prefers their drinks to not be too sweet, this is perfect for that. Additionally, great place for people who like legit passionfruit, mango, and use of fresh fruit. My personal favorite is the Flamingo (passionfruit with watermelon juice), and I'm really happy that they now specifically have MANGO matcha lattes. That with honey boba is just GREAT. I do appreciate that they're pretty consistent with how they cook their boba pearls as well as the variety of toppings. Unfortunately, their strawberry Matcha Royale is not my favorite, as the strawberry one puree they use tastes and feels like Smucker's strawberry jam. Anyways, would recommend. So excited that there's a Teaspoon literally 2 minutes away from my house! Slightly bummed that this took over the CreaTEAtive location, since being able to make your own drink was pretty fun - but no worries, Teaspoon is definitely a GREAT addition to this plaza. I usually get a customized milk tea, since there's just so many options to choose from. Recently, I've been switching between the Osmanthus Milk Tea and the Hojicha Milk Tea - depending what kind of flavors I'm craving that day. If you're feeling like a less sweet option, go for the Hojicha since it has that roasted, warm taste to it. On the other hand, if you have a sweet tooth that day, go for the Osmanthus. The tea is very light and creamy, almost like honey. Came by on a Wednesday afternoon during my lunch break to pick up drinks for my coworker and I and was pleasantly surprised that there was no line or customers inside. I was quickly greeted by a staff member at the register. Ordered a virgin mojito and a grasshopper. I wanted to adjust the sweetness level to less sweet for both drinks but the worker said that the mojito's sweetness level couldn't be adjusted. So I just opted for regular sweetness virgin mojito and a less sweet grasshopper. The decor is new and cute, with multiple tables for people to sit and wait. It took a while for me to get my drinks because the manager was teaching the worker what to do so it took a bit longer that I'd like especially considering there were at least three people working and no other customers besides me. As for the drinks, my coworker said that the mojito was too sweet and ended up waiting for the ice to dilute the drink. As for the grasshopper, it was good and refreshing! Wouldn't definitely order it again. The cucumber juice definitely has a good feel to the drink. Overall, I would return. Hopefully the same issue wouldn't occur the next time. read more

I went yesterday... during what probably is their most busiest hour and Izzy helped me. I think I was in around 5-6pm. Poor thing I can tell she was all by herself holding down the location and everyone's order with a smile. My drink was made perfect and it didn't take long considering she was doing everything all by herself. She didn't look stressed at all, she was very professional and did her job very well. I could say this to her management, in this day and age I wouldn't have a female working and running the store all by herself, it's dangerous and considering that Asians and Asian businesses have been targeted it just doesn't seem safe and smart for her or ANY employee to be working by themselves, especially during busy hours. This boba spot is busy, I'm sure they can afford to hire more people or give more hours to people. If it's one thing I don't like it's corporations or businesses that pinch pennies and short out their employees who do all the work. The plaza is big but parking can sometimes be a challenge sine there is so many people that go here, so you might have to circle if you're coming during a busy time (or just park far away). The tea and the boba has always been consistent at this location which I appreciate. I've ordered boba here about twice a week for a period of three weeks and the boba has always been on point. Usually I order online and then pick up since the line to wait for drinks is always long otherwise. They also do delivery if you're in the area that they deliver to. I like the caramel cream, their creamy jasmine milk team, and their seasonal strawberry colada. The strawberry colada is really refreshing and hit the spot on a hot day. Not a big fan of the house milk tea since it tastes a bit chocolate-y for some reason and the Thai tea is fine, but I'd rather get one of the drinks that I like so much more. read more

I also specified that I wanted the drink hot The order took about 20 to 25 minutes because there was an issue with the drink I ordered. Apparently there is no such thing as the matcha royale hot. Found this boba place via yelp. I have been here a few times now and all of the times they have been very consistent with their drinks. My favorite drink is the taro lover without taro chunks and add boba pearls. If you like taro, I would highly recommend getting this drink! It is sweet but not too sweet and you can still definitely taste the taro even though I get the drink without taro chunks. This place is so cute! I love the interior and the decorations. I live right near this location so I will be visiting more often. I can't wait to go back and try some other drinks. I looked over the menu which had some new items. I chose one of those -- something from the "Purple series", the Purple Crush, a hot drink -- plus a Lychee On Lychee (Lychee Black Tea with Lychee Jelly). Teaspoon sells one of my favorite drinks - Ladybug! It's a green tea drink with FRESH PASSIONFRUIT! It's sooooo refreshing. I love it because it comes with the passionfruit seeds. I usually get 50% sweetness, light ice, and EXTRA PASSIONFRUIT SEEDS. Most places sell passionfruit drinks using the syrup. But teaspoon is one of the few spots that uses the fresh fruit. One of my favorite boba places, but none in Fremont so I only get to come to Teaspoon when I'm in the south bay *cries*. This Teaspoon location is in the same plaza as boiling point, paris baguette and gen, so parking can be difficult on weekends and some nights. Usually no wait for Teaspoon itself, though. There is seating inside, probably seats about 20-30 people max but I've never seen the place full thus far. i LOVE their fruit drinks! ! My go-to is the Lady Bug, but it isn't offered at all their locations (Palo Alto doesn't serve the lady bug....). It comes with passion fruit seeds, and I always add boba, get it with less ice. I always get this drink, it's super fruity (passion fruit) and refreshing, and doesn't taste syrup-y at all imo. ($5.5 after adding boba) I've also heard good things about the Taro Lover - that it's not too artificial tasting, and comes with real taro. Will definitely have to try that next time. They only offer drinks in one size, and it's the taller, skinny size. They also do Fivestar (I always check in!), and sell metal boba straws (the thinner and thicker ones) that come in a set, with the scrubbing tool ($9). read more

I was recommend by a co worker for a new tea place. So he suggested this. It's tucked away in a shopping center in the corner. I was promptly greeted by the young lady at the counter , she was very nice and helpful and answered all my questions about certain drinks. I can appreciate an employee that gives honest opinion , I said I wanted the strawberry sangria extra sweet and she said " it's already pretty sweet with the strawberry can I suggest regular sweet instead " and she was right it was already sweet (I forgot to take a pic of that one) I also got the Marshmallow drink it taste just like marshmallow but wasn't my fav. The free WiFi, outlets, and relatively quiet environment make Teaspoon a good place to get work done and hang out with friends. I had the Taro Lover with boba! The taro drink was more saturated than the one in the menu photo but it was good! All of the taro chunks also sink on the bottom with the boba. I like the blend of the different tastes and textures of the taro milk tea, honey boba pearls, and taro. The sweetness level was ok. Since this was pre-made, I could not adjust the sweetness level. But I could adjust the ice and got 25% ice. Teaspoon also had free samples of the mango milk tea and grasshopper near the cash register! Overall I like Teaspoon and it's a great place to work.
