This Teaspoon location is honestly really great! It's a small cozy store, but the customer service here is outstanding and super friendly. The drinks are pretty good and I like it better than some other Teaspoon locations. The Grasshopper is definitely not my thing because of the cucumber flavor, but the Black Sugar Assam hits the spot with the black sugar flavor. The boba was also pretty chewy and not hard despite it being later at night where stores usually aren't making a new batch of boba by that point. I'd recommend this Palo Alto location. However, my most recent experience inspired me to write this review--specifically because of the Vanishing Matcha Latte. This drink is perfection for me at 0% added sweetness. The boba was incredibly fresh, perfectly chewy, and complemented the matcha beautifully. I absolutely love this flavor and wish it weren't just a seasonal option. It reminds me a bit of the Black Sugar Boba Milk Tea from Tiger Tea & Juice, which is my all-time favorite drink there. I got the Taro Lover and added a request for 0% sweet, but I'm not so sure it is in fact 0% sweet - or perhaps the sweetness is fixed. The taro itself is also sweet, but I appreciated the texture. Seems to be consistent with other Teaspoons and a solid boba spot for the area. Silky Strawberry w/ Honey Boba - obviously sounds like strawberry milk and it is, but it's definitely a level up from grocery store strawberry milk. Lactose free milk adds a nice kick and then the puree is pretty good too, you get some with each sip even after mixing. Boba is soft, chewy, and has an outer coating of sweetness from the honey. Better than a lot of boba up in SF actually. Could be a strong contender for go-tos if the location was closer. read more

I ordered a Silky Mango for myself since I wanted something light and refreshing. I usually try to avoid dairy milk when I can, so I was very happy to hear that they were offering oat milk for this drink. Otherwise, they use lactose-free dairy milk. I got it with oat milk and kept the honey boba that was included. The silky mango lived up to my expectations! It was refreshing, sweet, and a great balance of milk and mango purée. Thought this isn't my favorite boba place (that honor goes to Boba Bliss), Teaspoon still hits the spot when I'm craving something sweet or just want to grab a drink with a friend and catch up. I usually get their taro milk, since I'm often here with friends late at night and caffeine keeps me up at night. I basically think of it as a delicious purple dessert, since you can't adjust the sugar level, so it ends up being on the sweet side. I'm partial to green milk tea, but Teaspoon's version isn't my favorite. However their Liquid Gold (oolong tea) is yummy. If you're not sure what to order, their pre-made house drinks are solid, but you're not always allowed to customize sweetness level. Every time I've come here, this place has been hoppin', but I've been lucky and can usually snag a table (there are a few small tables outside). The store shares a parking lot with CVS and a few other businesses so parking can be hard when it's busy. read more

The macaron seemed a little overpriced at $2.75 for such a small thing, but it was very tasty. It taste kind of like a brownie. She ended up putting aloe vera in 2 of my drinks instead of crystal boba. Half of my family is allergic to aloe so we tossed those drinks and I never got a reply back on IG. Whatever. Haha still salty. To be fair, a majority of their employees get the job done right. I order from this location when I stop by Boba Guys. BG for me and sis, Teaspoon for Mom. I do appreciate this location having the virgin Mojito syrup in stock when some others no longer have it. Normally people drink milk tea for caffeine or just the novelty. When you're tired of drinking smoothies or flavored milks, what's left? Teaspoon has herbal Rooibos tea which is one of my favorites and has no caffeine for those sensitive! Mom and sis always get Rooibos with their dairy free milk, regular boba and crystal boba. For those watching their sugar intake, you can get 0% sweet and the existing boba syrup sweetens it just the slightest bit. No need to deprive yourself of boba! Drinks I've ordered: Japanese rice (nice and toasty, great hot with milk for those chilly winter nights) Seasonal Flamingo (watermelon & passionfruit juice, includes seeds which are edible but a pain to chew) Friends have ordered House MT, Taro Lover (caffeine free with free option of including taro chunks), Lychee on Lychee, Mango Funtime (blended with no caffeine?), and plenty of others. My coworkers and I wanted to get some boba during a hot and busy day at work. We all decided to go with Teaspoon and my bestie ordered to delivery. I ended up getting the Thai Tea and my coworkers got their matcha and one got the ube. I was contemplating on if I wanted to try the ube as well, since I know it's limited time, but I decided to go with the Thai Tea. Delivery was fast and smooth. The Thai Tea was delicious! It's really hard to find places that sells Thai Tea that's not from a authentic Thai restaurant. I really enjoyed my drink that I actually ended up finishing faster than I wanted to. I usually take my time drinking my drink whenever I go get boba, but this was just TOO good to let sit there. I'm here way too often. Unsurprisingly, my favorite drink, Liquid Gold, isn't included in my posted photos below-- I cram it into my face way too quickly to get a decent shot. For COVID safety, Teaspoon only permits 1 customer group in the building at a time. Pickup/takeout only. Slow-ish service. I think their specialty drinks take longer to mix, so I'm not too mad about it. What can be obnoxious is that the workers are almost always putting dubstep on full blast, which reverberates throughout the small shop-- but if you're just popping in and out for an order, it's tolerable. LIQUID GOLD (75% sweet & no ice) W/ HONEY BOBA: Such a strong, aromatic oolong flavor with a delightfully light cream topper. I really recommend this to folks who aren't looking for a super heavy drink, but still crave a bit of the richness milk teas have. I really like that Teaspoon only features a few menu items that they've really honed their skill in on. Not only is it easier to choose (all drinks are fairly distinct from each other), I'd like to think that the quality is also better. IMO, the most unique quality about their drinks is their honey boba. Somehow, the pearls have this marshmallow-y consistency that isn't quite as gelatinous or firm, just a bit stickier & mochi-like than most. Doesn't taste over-/undercooked, just different. For several years I've made a little hobby of trying out different tea and boba shops both here and on travels out of state. I've visited dozens of shops and franchises, tasted a wide variety of flavors, hot and cold, sweet and not, types of boba, etc., and I always come back to Teaspoon in Palo Alto. The service here is prompt and friendly, their COVID precautions are clear and easy to follow, they have been willing to accommodate many reasonable requests to modify drinks, and - while drinks do inevitably vary over time - quality is always very high. While this used to be the closest Teaspoon to my home, I've since moved and continue to visit this location as their reliability makes me happy to forego convenience for a fantastic boba experience :) read more

The new app to order from is great by allowing to order ahead at specific pickup times from any of the Teaspoon locations. Love to see this progress! And they now have Mochi Donuts!!! The blueberry and "cookies n cream" mochi donuts are awesome....really fluffy with a chewy center, and the same "baby chew toy" look. They might add more junk in your trunk, but you'll have a big smile on your face as your waistline grows! Only downsides for the app to be aware of: you need to know the street of your Teaspoon that you're ordering from because the city name view gets cutoff when ordering from an iphone. Also you need to know your order in advance because they don't yet have pictures or descriptions of the items on their app. Hopefully they'll soon get those changes made to their app. But if you know the street of your Teaspoon and know your order, then the app is really a nice improvement from waiting in line! read more

We're huge fans of Teaspoon so my partner and I were eager to reach out to them to get boba catered for our wedding. We had such a blast working with Aryan and the rest of the team. They were super accommodating and friendly - even offering a free tasting to try and figure out our menu for the day of. We ended up getting three flavors - the raspberry mojito but with green tea instead of seltzer, the liquid gold, and the mango matcha royale. For the wedding itself, they were super professional and great. They made all the drinks at the venue, allowing for more customization (changing the sugar level, ice level, toppings). Everyone got a drink and it was a huge hit according to all the guests. Would definitely this Teaspoon for any event catering (as well as just getting boba on the regular). read more
