The first thing I noticed about the restaurant was that it was beautifully minimalistic with clean walls and gorgeous fairy lights decorating the ceiling and door. Teaspoon had a wide variety of drinks, and when I saw they had a rose petal flavor milk tea, I immediately wanted to order it, as rose drinks are always my go-to flavor. I was slightly disappointed with it, however, because I could not taste the rose flavor that much and my topping of boba was a little soft. However, everything else about the restaurant was spectacular. When the boba craving comes, the first thing to do is the jump onto Yelp to see where's the closest shop! Teaspoon came up 3 blocks from where I was so it was a must, especially since I've enjoyed the other locations before. Pulling up, the grand opening sign was fluttering in the breeze like a welcoming "Come in! We got exactly what you want!". We were greeted warmly and the place was very inviting with some Christmas decor (perfect for the season). I really enjoyed the Ladybug drink as passion fruit is my current favorite but don't like the texture of the seeds :( Sadly I couldn't have the drink without the seeds but they made a lemon version of the tea for me. It wasn't as sweet as I thought it would be, but it was very refreshing. Loved the jelly dolphins... think I'll get double toppings next time haha. Totally get that the drink is named Ladybug for the spots, but the seeds just aren't my cup of tea sadly. The other drink I tried was the house milk tea with boba. It's a must for me to try the milk tea from every boba shop I go to, kind of like establishing a base to see how I like the place. The milk tea wasn't too sweet but I loved that the black tea wasn't too overpowering either. As for the boba, I think they used honey as a sweetener? It was really nice and had a perfect chewiness to it :) Final Thoughts: Love the place! Super clean, bright and very friendly. It's a little sparse with seating/tables but a decent amount if it's not crowded; I can imagine it being pretty nice to chill here on an afternoon on your computer with a drink here. I've only tried one so far, the California snow, which is avocado flavored snow. It was alright, but I would stick to the milk teas here. I like how they did their interior design for this shop. It is pretty simple and minimalistic; a very clean look. This was my first time at Teaspoon and I asked the person to suggest me their most popular drinks. He suggested me Liquid Gold! I got a liquid gold with 50% sugar and no topping. I found the taste to be very straight like black tea. I believe if I had asked for 75% sugar it might have tasted better and along with some boba in it. Anyways, next time I'd want to try something with mango because they had a lot of mango flavor options. The tea though not extraordinary, was quite something that you can get staple to. read more

Ordered "the hype" which was a coffee drink. Asked for less ice because didn't want it to be diluted in case I couldnt finish it fast enough. I was told they would have to give me less of the drink in order to accommodate that request, which was understandable. After about maybe 2 minutes of leaving the store I found my drink was empty and I realized why when I looked at it and saw around 80% of the drink was just ice. I'm guessing if I didn't ask for less ice it would have been literally filled to the brim. Mind you, this drink was almost $6. Honestly the drink was really good, which is why I gave it 2 stars. Finally found a Teaspoon close(r) to work! I call in my order and go pick it up a few minutes later. Larger location but doesn't have too much seating, just a few tables and some high top chairs along the window. My usual peach virgin mojito with crystal boba, less syrup is actually sweeter than expected. Ask for less ice. Make sure to specify if you want a hot drink because iced is default. Hot Japanese rice milk tea with boba on cold nights hits the spot. One of these days, I will try an individual sized shaved snow! Reminds me of Sno Crave's desserts. Popular drinks include liquid gold (honey oolong with cream), grasshopper (lychee green tea with cucumber juice), Taro lover, grapefruit tea, mango Funtime, and lots more. Customize a drink too. Start from the tea base, add their lactose free house or organic milk, toppings, change sugar/ice levels. They come up with a new drink series each season. I've seen lavender (in a lemonade!), strawberry, rose, etc. So many toppings here! Check out the boba bar behind the glass. Various jelly shapes and flavors. Teaspoon is located in Warburton Village in Santa Clara. It was extremely hot today, and I needed to be hydrated. Luckily, the newest Teaspoon just opened up in Santa Clara, and they were offering a BOGO on their Lilikoi Series of drinks (Passion Fruit). The staff were very friendly and engaging as I ordered 2 Lady Bugs (Passion Fruit Juice Green Tea with Kumquat Juice). The drinks were prepared quickly. They were tasty and refreshing. Decided to order ahead for pickup through yelp which was through grubhub but when we got there it said it would be ready in 20 minutes even though there weren't many people in the store. Decided to go in after waiting 5 minutes in the car with the grubhub order still saying it wasn't ready. The order was sitting there when I went in and the drinks were sooo watery. Quite disappointed with my experience today. I've been going to teaspoon for around 4 years, and have been to several locations. I change my drink up a lot, but my boyfriend always gets the mango funtime with bobba. Today the bobba serving in his drink was wayyy less than usual. I ask the girl at the counter if the serving of bobba was less than usual and she looked at me as if I was crazy for asking. Again, I've been going to teaspoon for the past 4 years, and have ordered this exact drink a dozen of times. I know that the serving I was given was much less than usual. My problem wasn't the drink being different, my problem was that the staff had no sense of customer service. Instead of looking at me like I was crazy she could of offered a solution such as " I'm sorry you feel that way, I could add an extra scoop for a slight up charge if you want" in a kind voice ( versus the hostile response I received) or something that brings a solution versus handing me a product that I'm clearly not content with. Seems like all the employees were high schoolers so it explains the lack of customer care. Even if I was wrong and that the bobba was the typical serving ( which it wasn't) the employee could of answered in a much more helpful & respectful manner. I love me some pearl drink and this place is​ great! The line was long but it moved very quickly. The women behind the counter were nice and moved quickly to take my order and deliver me my drink. The pearls were so fresh too! I got a large mango with pearls. It was so good that I drank it all before I got to my destination (10 minute drive). YUM! I'd have to come back another time to re-access, but we definitely got our drinks with way too much sugar this time. Different places have different levels of sugar, so we never really know how much sugar to get until we try it. I'm used to getting 100% sugar at "coco", which we had in China and Japan in the previous weeks. So we got 100% sugar here for our pudding milk tea and mango smoothie with honey tapioca and it was wayyyyy too sweet (about 4 of us tried it and felt the same way). We didn't ask what was the normal amount of sugar that most people get, so maybe that would have helped. But I might come back again to try 70% to see how that tastes and give it a new review then. On the plus side, we asked them to split our drink in half (two cups) since we were sick and didn't want to get each other sick, and they ended up splitting the two drinks into 4 cups total, each filled about 70%. Such a great boba place: clean, quality drinks, and great service!! I got the grasshopper, which was highly recommended by my friend, and it was amazing. 4.5 stars! This Teaspoon is honestly way better then the one in Milpitas. I had low expectations for my drink but I was meeting a friend and she asked to meet here. She got the taro chunk milk and killed it in less then 10? Haha guess it was good. I just got the Classic Milk Tea with Grass jelly at 25% sweet. Had strong tea flavor but was creamy and just sweet enough, exactly the way I like it! :D Grass jelly was soft and had the right texture. **NOTE: The special right now is a "Lavender cloud" series. Sounded interesting but looked like too much cream for my taste.** I took half a star off but still rounded up because the selection isn't that varied but I like that they focus on doing what they have really well. I've come a few times, always ordering in advance from their website. The quality is standard, and the sweetness is always on a consistent scale, but their take-out/pick-up option could use a lot of improvement. Since they now started taking orders in person, they only have one line for ordering and pick up. Their entry/window to speak to the cashier is fairly narrow, so unless they open the entrance to allow a certain number of guests at a time in the shop, the pickup option will continue to be frustrating. I have always seen them wear gloves, but not always masks. There is also a plexiglass barrier. Also, for some reason, they always include the printout receipt of my order, but not what was paid. read more

I usually go to the Teaspoon in the Mitsuwa plaza, but my friend and I decided to give this location a try to satisfy our boba cravings. It was so crowded on a Friday night and all the tables were taken when we arrived. We had to wait a while for seats to open up, but I definitely prefer the interior of this location over the Mitsuwa/SJ one. It's a lot more spacious with room to stand and chat if there aren't enough seats available. Drinks are pretty consistent with their other locations, but I do think Teaspoon's drinks are getting on the sweeter side. 100% is way too sweet in my opinion, but 50-70% can sometimes be a hit or miss that leads to a watery drink. Regardless, Teaspoon is still one of my favorite boba spots in the South Bay, and I'm glad to see them continuously expand! My favorite drinks to get are the Liquid Gold and Assam Milk Tea. read more

Meh. Came here today based on the recommendations of my friends. I'm not a boba connoisseur so I don't have a favorite boba place per say but generally, I like boba (see my last review, it's also boba), but wasn't overly thrilled with this place's boba. The interior has that chic white minimalist look boba places have these days. I ordered the liquid goal with 25% sweetness and my friend ordered the lady bug. It was supposed to be a honey caramel flavor but it just tasted milky. I sent it back and told the woman working that it was sort of flavorless and if it could be fixed. She gave it back to me and it was still meh. The woman was nice and told me if I didn't like it I could have another one so I ordered the honey milk tea which I was told was better. Same thing. Ultimately I was not impressed so I just drank it than ask for a fourth drink. My friend's lady bug was good though even though I prefer milk tea drinks. They had sample tea by the register and the oolong was good! Just cold. No compost in the bathroom either read more

This place is wonderful. They have the best taro smoothie. So much flavor! They always send BOGO coupons on your phone too! My favorite is the Pina colada with passion fruit popping boba and egg pudding. Absolutely refreshing and very filling! My twins usually get the taro drink and the Milky Way one. My husband is not a fan of any creamy beverages (crazy) but he adores their grapefruit juice with mango popping boba. Flaws: they only have one size! So for kids this isn't ideal considering the one size is pretty big. Also, I wish They had more space to sit and hang out. It's a pretty small place. I actually love Teaspoon but I'm never coming back to this location again. Not sure if they just hired new employees or something but we waited 30 minutes for our drinks (even though there weren't that many people in the store) because of various mess ups on our order (which was just a house milk tea with boba and a strawberry sangria with boba). My friend, who had ordered right before us, was done with his drink by the time we got our drinks (and it was the pina colada which is a slushy so he couldn't even drink it that fast). When we first got there, there were only three people in line ahead of us. We ordered pretty quickly and saw everyone in front of us get their drinks. We started suspecting was off when the person who ordered 5 minutes after us got their drinks, so we decided to ask. Turns out they lost our order somehow and had us repeat it. But even then, they proceeded to make the drinks of people who had ordered already instead of making ours first, even though we had already been waiting for 20 minutes. When they finally made our drinks, I realized there was no boba in my drink, and when I pointed out the error another employee also pointed out that the strawberry syrup chunks were missing from the drink as well. So then we waited another 5 minutes while they fixed my drink. The drinks and boba were good as always but the service completely ruined the experience. I've never had to wait so long at a Teaspoon (or any boba place for that matter) even when it was crowded. read more

Why can't Portland get one of these and/or step up their bubble tea game. I love the customization aspect of the drinks. Seems like very high quality ingredients for a reasonable price. It makes me sad that bubble tea up here is scooping powdered stuff into a blender. I have never been any where with such a wide selection of teas. We got the tropical lime. It was amazing. So hard not to drink it all at once. I was a little annoyed that we had to rush to drink it before we got to tsa at the airport. Thanks Bin Laden I also got a snow ice. At first I was kind of like meh because really it's like a deconstructed bubble tea. However as far as frozen treats go it beats froyo. Not sure if I'd get again. Their milk tea here is on the mediocre side in my opinion. I think the creamer they use is odd. It makes the tea taste too sweet (or artificial) even at 50% sugar. Their honey boba is decent too. I guess this adds a bit of extra sugar so you can adjust the tea sugar levels appropriately. No credit card minimums at Teaspoon so that's good. read more

What sounds better on a hot day than taro milk? I was running errands and decided to pop into here. I was surprised to see 2 lines formed, one for pick up and one for ordering. The lines were maintained as best as possible but the area is pretty small and a mask is necessary when waiting. There was only one person running from the kitchen to the stand out front where the orders were being taken, and he was doing an amazing job multitasking. He seemed stressed but didn't let it effect his customer service which I appreciate. The taro lover was perfect. I got it as is, and it was perfectly sweet with the right amount of ice and taro chunks. I couldn't be happier, unless I could get a bigger size! I finished this drink so quick.
