I drink 3-5 milk teas a day, which probably isn't good for my pre-diabetes, but frequenting bubble tea shops from Seal Beach to Venice Beach at this level puts me in a position to judge. I judge food and drink places on Google and Yelp with a very heavy hand, and this shop, in the neighborhood I grew up in, gets it right every time. The vibe is great, the people running things are sharp, and it's even two spots down from a bar. So if you wanna chase an Hokkaido Black Milk Tea with a shot of Jameson's, that option is there. This place will still be here 20 years from now, I'm sure of that. Tip big. read more

$4 for a large milk tea, I'm sold! Let me get two while I'm here! The prices are affordable and quality is great - very consistent every time I come. There's many options and selections to choose from. You can also customize the level of sweetness if you like. I really like their tiramisu foam, never heard of it before and now I'm hooked! Finally a REAL boba spot in the LBC! I've been waiting for this day and it has finally arrived. Welcome, Ding Tea to the neighborhood! A much needed, welcome addition to our city and now no need to drive to Cerritos and the surrounding areas when there's this place right here :) The shop looks amazing and is brand spankin' new and spotless in the recently renovated business plaza on Clark/Atherton. My favorite drink is usually the Oolong Milk Tea (half sweet) with golden boba which did not disappoint, but the Taro Milk Tea was superb and perfect with no adjustments made. Might be my new go-to drink for a while now and excited to try some more new ones too. Be seeing you guys soon I'm sure! I've been to multiple of their locations and tried most of their popular teas. They're all really good. I usually stick to milk teas with boba, but teas with jelly and fruity drinks are good too. Be sure to request 25-50% sweetness if you don't like drinks that sweet. Lines at this location can get long, depending on the time of the day. The only bummer about Ding Tea is that it opens at 11 am, and I usually grab tea earlier. read more

Oh no, my worst nightmare! The first Dingtea opens down the street in LB! And it's walking distance?! (Sarcasm) This location is conveniently situated in it's own large parking lot with ample space. The interior is decorated with a nice mural of Long Beach's most iconic destinations and landmarks. The staff is super friendly and is willing to answer any questions. my favorite matcha place ever. without a doubt never fails and is my fav place of all time. haven't gotten it in like 2 weeks and decided to get it tdy. my bf went in to order drinks and we got two banana matchas. one regular and one with no ice (so i can save it for work the next day). he was then told by a girl that they were unable to do no ice because of 'measurements'. we have always done no ice without a problem. we kept telling her that and she said she couldn't. wdym you can't do no ice? she said the best they could do was very light ice so that was fine. got the two drinks and one was regular ice and the other one was supposed to be light but it wasn't. half of the cup was nearly with ice (knew it was supposed to be light at least since we asked for the toffee ots). had to come back to ask for spoons just to scoop it out. kind of disappointed bc i never had a bad experience here and just confused as to why we weren't allowed no ice when we constantly ordered it before without a problem. the drink also didn't taste like banana and was a bit more milk than matcha. kind of disappointed and was my fav place. now i'm unsure of even wanting to come back. read more

I loved that this place finally opened up in Bixby Knolls. Workers were super friendly and love their boba drinks. My daughter makes me bring her here all the time. Only reason I gave it a 4 star instead of 5 stars is because the 3X we were here, the restroom was not available/working for patrons. We had to use the restroom at Ramen Hub. Hope they fix that bathroom problem soon. read more

Came here to meet up with a friend and some family. We ordered the guava tea with boba, jasmine milk tea with boba, an iced coffee-50% sweet, and a peach slushie. We enjoyed all of our drinks! We tried the Peach Cobbler, Banana Pudding, and Lemon Poppy donuts, and all three were excellent. The donuts were soft and fresh, the toppings were generous, and each flavor actually tasted like what it was supposed to be. The Peach Cobbler was probably my favorite -- warm cobbler flavors with plenty of peach topping. The Banana Pudding was creamy without being overly sweet, and the Lemon Poppy had a really nice lemon flavor. I also ordered the Zombie Coffee with banana cream. If you like your coffee STRONG, this is the one! The banana cream added a nice sweetness and flavor without taking away from the coffee. What really impressed me was the selection. We didn't get there until around 2 PM, and they still had a large variety of donuts that looked fresh. A lot of donut shops are pretty picked over by the afternoon, so that was a huge plus. Service was excellent. Everyone was very nice, welcoming, and helpful while we were deciding what to order. One thing to know: there is no restroom available, so keep that in mind if you're planning to sit and enjoy your donuts and coffee. The drinks are excessively sweet, a mortal sin by Asian standard, and they have a generic taste that might as well have one item on the entire menu. Alas, to get a sip of the old favorites, now I have to drive across town instead of stop by after work. I am glad that I got my many trips here before the old guards died, and it's probably better for my hemoglobin A1c in the long run.

Usually at places like this, I feel like I have to fight for my life to find a table, but thankfully that wasn't the case here. The staff was very kind and asks how many are in your party and helps you get a table, which made everything much less stressful. They also give you menus while you wait so you can decide what you want ahead of time. We arrived at 10:30am and our wait was about 30 minutes so by the time we were able to order at 11am, the lunch menu was also available. I ordered the tater tots, Cinnagave Shaken Espresso, Dutch Baby Pancake and country sourdough toast with jam. With tax and tip, my total came out to around $40. It's definitely pricier than what I normally pay for breakfast. Most entrées range from $17-$34 and coffees are around $5-$10, so you can easily spend $30+ for one person. In these hard times, that's not exactly ideal for me. I also wanted to try a pastry to get the full experience, but when I found out the small blackberry danish was $7, I decided to pass. I just couldn't justify getting that close to $50 for breakfast for one person. Now for the food! The country sourdough toast with jam was actually my favorite item. The homemade sourdough was incredible and honestly deserves its roses. It sounds like such a simple thing, but it was so well done and easily the standout for me. Visually, the Dutch Baby Pancake was beautiful and definitely impressive when it came out. I've always wanted to try one, so I was excited! I will say, I've read everywhere that Dutch babies are supposed to have more of a custardy center and even the photos I've seen look that way. Mine didn't really have that texture at all and tasted more like a crepe. Maybe it was a little overcooked? It wasn't bad, just not quite what I expected. Still delicious! Unfortunately, the tater tots were the biggest disappointment. They weren't crispy, didn't taste seasoned and sort of fell apart until they became one big potato mess. My cousins and I ended up not finishing them. One of my cousins ordered the summer peach and corn salad, which she liked! Just a heads-up that it's only available after 11 a.m. My other cousin got the skillet, she mentioned feeling a little disappointed since it tasted a little dry and didn't finish her plate. However they both ordered the Curious George drink and LOVED it! The Cinnagave Shaken Espresso was also fantastic. Coffee is definitely something they do very well here and I can see myself getting again. Overall, the aesthetics are adorable and I could see this being a great date spot. The coffee was fantastic, the sourdough was amazing, but the rest of the food was just okay for us. That was a little disappointing because everything sounds SO good on paper. Maybe we just caught them on an off day. The prices are probably the biggest thing holding me back from coming back regularly. Spending $30-$40+ per person for breakfast isn't really in my budget right now, but if this is within your price range, you may have a completely different experience. When I review a place, I try to take the overall experience, personal taste and effort into account. For now, I'm leaving Zuzu's Petals at 4 stars because the effort is definitely there, and what isn't my cup of tea may be someone else's liquid gold. I'd still give them another chance in the future... after I get paid!

Just rolled thru to this boba shop cause my wife and I noticed they had Vietnamese coffee. HOLY SMOKES!!! This coffee is by far the best Vietnamese coffee in Long Beach. This area was totally lacking in the coffee department. They also carry sea salt coffee and American coffee. When I asked what kind of coffee beans they use, the gentleman at the front informed me that their American coffee/sea salt coffee are both made with Ethiopian Koke beans. I don't think any coffee house in long beach carries that. Also, it was great to see all the customers waiting outside after ordering. Hands down the best boba/bubble tea location in long beach. They often roll out 5 star rewards so remember to sign up. This week they did a buy one get one 1/2 off promotion! Amazing art work and design on the inside. This shop definitely looks like it belongs in the historic arts district of LA. I can't explain how glad i am that we have something like this in Long Beach. I can't say enough about the drinks either. I'm so glad they opened this location up. Long Beach was in dire need of some good boba. I ordered the boba latte and substituted the whole milk for oat milk and it was amazing!!! First off, they're the only ding tea I know of that offers non-dairy substitutions. Secondly, the drink tasted fantastic and the boba was perfect! The second drink i got was the Thai Tea. For all you thai tea lovers out there, do yourself a favor and try their thai tea. I would say it's better than any thai tea i've ever had, including 7 leaves (who I previously considered the best, until today) They also have a buy one get one half off special. I was really excited when I discovered Teatopia, a local spot that offered banana matcha lattes. I visited them before this drink was even on their menu, and I remember loving it. Usually, I get my matcha fix from Okayama and Airoma, but since Teatopia is nearby, I've been visiting fairly often. However, my experience today was quite disappointing. To my surprise, the cup size seemed smaller, and I ended up paying $8 for a drink that was about 80% ice. It felt like I was mostly sipping on flavored water rather than the delicious banana matcha blend I enjoyed before. I stopped by Teatopia in Brea and tried their Phoenix Oolong Milk Tea--and wow, it did not disappoint! The tea had the perfect balance of sweetness, allowing the rich, roasted oolong flavor to shine through without being overpowering. The milkiness was just right, making for a smooth and satisfying drink.
