A little expensive but burrito was huge and very good. Service was a bit slow, but the food made up for it. I'll be going back for sure.

A friend and I met for lunch. She ordered the Steak salad and I ordered the Combination plate of enchilada and tamales. My friends salad was not close to what she ordered. The greens were not fresh, half the vegetables were missing and the Steak was tough. When we mentioned this the waitress said oh we were probably out. A man stopped by and didn't say anything. The rice was good in the Combination plate. The tamale was thick corn masa and no flavor. When we were presented with bill by yet another person he asked how it was and I explained the issues withe salad he stated, oh too bad she didnt like it. We really like the new place! Our favorite when we have the time to sit down and enjoy a meal with drinks. Invariably one or more of us orders the fajitas and they really are good with any of the meats. Margaritas are reasonably priced and one of us always order the "cadillac margarita" and the bartender does a great job every time! It's clean and the decor is very tasteful and appropriate. I ordered something I didn't want, the waiter found out and brought us another huge plate of an amazing chicken dish for free even though it was my mistake. This restaurant makes every dish well. The fish tacos and tortilla soup are some of my favorites along with the rice. I only wish they stayed open later to better accommodate my schedule. read more

I'll never know what the food or service is like here because I won't do business with a disreputable establishment. I arrive with my entertainment book coupon only to find out that they decided not to honor the coupon. They opted out of honoring the coupon prior to the entertainment book even going on sale for the 2011 year. Now I'm not sure but I suspect that they get to be in that book for free or for a very low cost. What a wonderful way to get some free or low cost advertising. The customer clips the coupon thinking he's going to get a good deal then arrives at the door only to read the bad news. Maybe the customer will come in anyhow. NOT!! read more

I don't normally write bad reviews but the manager was super rude. My girlfriend and I ordered food for take out at around 9 35 pm and they closed at 10:00pm. We got home only to find out they gave us the wrong food and still charged me for it. They were sneaky enough to put the plate on the bottom of the bag and put them all in ONE bag. By the time I called they were closed so I left a voicemail. No one got back to me and so I decided to call the following day only to be told that my complaint was "not on file" and was straight told I could not be helped right away. I explained to the person that I left a voicemail the same night and he literally didn't care because I didn't talk to a person? When I told him I'd leave a bad review he said fu we don't need you and hung up on me. I called back and asked to speak to a manager and it turns out it was the manager and he hung up on me yet again when I asked for him name. Super rude and the food was shit. Nothing like when it was on the shadle area. He might not "need me" but I hope this review helps people see what they're getting into without all the hype. read more

Best Mexican food in town. The new location is beautiful inside, nice and spacious seating, good bar, and excellent service as always. The parking lot is big but not a lot of spaces. This is one of the best places ever for Mexican food. I can't give it high enough marks. The Arroz Con Pollo is rich and delicious every time and the service is terrific. We have visited Tecate usually once a month and the dishes and people there are consistently great. Every time I walk in I am greeted wholeheartedly and enjoy a wonderful meal with my wife. We missed Tecate Grill while they were relating and couldn't wait for the opening. My enthusiasm for TG has left the room :( Agree with other that they missed the mark and the cozy charm is gone. We just recently discovered this place driving by, and after reading reviews it seems as though it's been open for awhile just switched locations. The location seems like a good location, the parking is good, and the inside of the place is very wide open. The openness makes for a very loud atmosphere, which doesn't bother me, but it is very loud. The acoustics are bouncing everywhere. Anyways, it was busy but we got a booth at around 5:15 on a Sunday. it took about 3-5 min to get water and chips, we had to wait for salsa because they ran out of salsa bowls and had to wash more!?!? It wasn't a full house, I think they need more salsa bowls. Our chips were the bottom of the bin, I didn't notice $1 charge for a second basket though, I hope they didn't charge us for crumbs... salsa was good, flavorful. I got the combo burrito, the size is good but like others have mentioned the food is bland. It's missing seasoning for sure! Husband got chili Colorado and said it was very good. The service was ok, he was busy I get it, but it just makes for an awkward dining experience when the waiter is running around like crazy. Anyways, overall it was pretty good and we will most likely be back. Always up to try new things and places! Can't wait to try out their patio in the summer! read more

Fantastic Mexican/Southwest cuisine, real departure from the standard Mexican restaurants in town. Two of their best are the Adovo Shrimp & Rice that's smothered in a rich sauce that's to die for. I'm wondering if they would give me the recipe. Our second favorite is the Monterey Shrimp (Camarones Monterey) which is sauteed shrimp wrapped in bacon covered with the most mouth watering mango sauce. We haven't yet tried everything on the menu but so far all the items we have tried are awesome. read more

I have never had such bad service in my entire life. Iwill never go there again and do not recommend it to anyone. Waiter or manager not sure his title rude from the beginning. Came to my table Asked what do u want threw or plates on our table when he brought them out. My husband had to go to the bar to get water for us. I ordered a smoothie for my 4 year old grandson it came in a plastic cup with a lid and straw i assumed we could take the drink with us but was i wrong the waiter grabbed it out of my hand as we stood up said this is not a to-go cup and threw it on the table. My grandson proceeds to cry a little for his smoothie. Instead of approaching us to explaine the cup had to stay and he could offer us a cup to-go nope he proceeded to grab and throw the one i had. I was upset as my grandson was so my husband stated that was rude and we would not be coming back the waiter stated good. I can't even give a half a star for this place. read more

I ordered a salad here recently and it only came with half the ingredients! Even the ones it did come with were sub par substitutes for the ones actually listed on the menu. The salsa also had no vegetables in it, jut tomato sauce. The standard Mexican food was not bad but there are way better options close by. read more

I went here for the first time the other day with my volleyball team after league, the staff was awesome. The national football championship was on and the TV's were turned up so we could hear, which I've never had another restaurant do. I remember that this restaurant formerly had a location at Shadle Center that closed. Well, they recently reopened a new location on NW Blvd. I was driving home from a long day of running errands, and decided to give it another try since it was on my way home. I would have called in my order, but their website was down, and I couldn't view their menu and had to order once I got to the restaurant. For people trying to look at a menu sitting in the waiting area, they really could use a lamp, as that corner is quite dark without any overhead lights. The two young ladies at the front desk, while very cute, were obviously not very experienced or professional. Had I been a 16-year old boy, I'm sure I would have found them adorable, but I was a hungry, grumpy adult woman who just wanted to get her food and go. Once I got my food, I headed out to my car and before I drove away, thought it would be a good idea to check my order. Lucky that I did, because the rice portion of my order was missing. I called into the restaurant and informed the young lady that answered of the error. She apologized and said "would you like some rice?" Well, when my combo meal consists of three items, and one of those items is missing, yes, I would like that item. On the plus side, my food came out quickly, and everything was hot and tasty. I hope I can chalk the other issues up to being newly reopened. But I do think it's definitely worth another try. read more
