I'm two weeks late on this Review, but also after two weeks of usage on our laptops, I've got to say Steve is the Man! Original was gonna go to Apple to fix my son's Laptop, then some Hollywood fix it place, but decided to try and stay local to home. I found Steve and his shop Technoland computer repairs on yelp , saw the good reviews, and After a few minutes of just talking with this guy I knew he was very knowledgeable and professional, the cherry on top was how affordable and how fast he took care of the first laptop, so I ended up bringing him a second one , two Mac book airs for repairs done in under 24 hours and they're good as new and or better. Battery replacement, screen replacement added more storage. Gave us some pointers on maintenance. I got two laptops fixed for the price of what one was going to cost me at a big name fix it place. I highly recommend this local small business shop to everyone and for everything, call him for questions, I think he does other electronic repairs. My battery on my laptop went bad. I tried opening it up myself because I was in a panic. Unfortunately, 3 of the screws were totally stripped so I was unable to do so. I was calling around about my problem but I couldn't get accomodation since I attempted to open it. My Asus laptop was on life support when I brought in to Steve last Friday. So many things were going wrong with it, including the touchscreen which had split apart (admittedly, due to me dropping it). By the next morning, I was able to pick up my laptop which Steve had working better than when I first bought it. Almost 99% of my data had been saved, which was most important to me. I'm not a computer expert but Steve was able to explain to me in easy to understand terms about what the issues were, how he resolved them and how to operate my PC to minimize issues in the future. ALL I can say is STOP LOOKING for a Computer Repair buisness NOW. LOOK NO FURTHER!!!!! THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!!! I decided to give Technoland a try based on the reviews. I sent Steve (Owner and Repair man) a message on Yelp, and he replied within minutes. We talked for a while, and he gave me a quote. The price was quite reasonable for what I was doing. My computer had obtained a few viruses that greatly affected performance. The computer was VERY VERY slow and had strange pop-ups and ran HORRIBLY. For a FAIR cost, Steve replaced my ENTIRE hard drive. He took out the old one and put a brand new "brain" in my computer. When I dropped it off, I assumed I'd be coming back to get it in a week or two. But Steve said, "I'll have it ready by 5:30" !!!!!! I DROPPED it off around 11 a.m. !!!!!! I was SHOCKED. In that short period of time, he placed my hard drive and added RAM to my computer..... AND in order to do that, he had to take my computer apart by removing the screen to access what he needed to get to. I am STUNNED at how FAST he did it. Here's my report card.... the computer runs AMAZING now. It's FAST, SWIFT, and SMOOTH. And when I picked up my computer, Steve turned it on to show me what he had done. He even has his own set up of what he adds to a new hard drive. My home screen is AMAZING. He added all the important things, including virus protection. He took the time to show me where everything was. He asked me if I had any questions more than once. I am AMAZED at his professionalism and attention to detail. AMAZED. LOOK NO FURTHER. Went in with a clicking external hard drive, didn't expect a miracle. Was told there was nothing to be done, send it to the (expensive) data recovery place he recommended. Okay, hate to lose the drive, but it is what it is. Picked up the drive and took it to another place for a second opinion. Second place calls me and tells me a part in the drive is responding like it's not the original part, that the original part is necessary to get the data off, and that some repair places switch them out while trying to access the data. I call Technoland to ask if they might have left a swap-out part in the drive by accident, and the man immediately begins saying that he'd never steal a part, that it was an insane accusation, and that I could come search his shop myself for the part if I didn't believe him. Note that I didn't ask if he'd done anything malicious, and had assumed the most innocent situation to begin with. The second place agreed that this was a weird way to respond to the inquiry, and when I passed along the contact information, the man at Technoland was similarly aggressive towards them. I don't know tech, but the entire experience was enough to tell me not to go back. Edit: I will say that for all the experience, the drive was checked and reported on very quickly read more

Steve is great! Very quick turnaround on both my printer and laptop. He actually told me how to replace the printhead on the printer myself so that I didn't have to pay him to do it. The place looks nice from the outside. The parking was not that hard to find depending on the time of day. Now the inside is another story. The shelves were all littered with computer components collecting dust and the place smells very strongly of cigarettes. I felt a little short of breath at times since I'm not a smoker. Steve is good but word of advice, shop around before coming to this place. The prices are exorbitant especially for simple installations of hardware such as GPUs and software diagnostics. Per Steve's words, "It is what it is." Other places would charge at half the price for the same service. This place should be one of your last resorts when looking for this type of services. Excellent service ! Steve did an Amazing job fixing my P.C. I use it for 3-D computer modeling and rendering. It was crashing a lot. He quickly Diagnosed the problem, I had a faulty Graphics Card. He installed one of his own Graphics Cards in my machine so I could keep working while I was waiting for my replacement card to arrive. Screen was non functional and I brought it in for Technoland to diagnose. As a professional graphic designer(since 2003) I've found it beneficial for my practice to switch from Mac to PC. These days everything you can do on a mac you can on PC for half the price in hardware. Turned out the price for repair was more then it was worth for the laptop. In lieu of repair Steve hooked me up with a wonderful new laptop. A modest model but with a good custom package that suits my needs for design with the latest software and enough for even some gaming for half the price of what it would cost to repair! Service was impeccable and fast! I now have a go to spot for my computer needs. 10/10 will definitely come back and recommend to friends.
