Last week on Wednesday I brought my labtop to this place bc I spilled coffee over it. He told me he was going to open it up take it fully apart, wash all the components, dry them and put it back together. There will be a 50/50 chance if it working again. Friday afternoon I called to see what the status was, he said he did not do it yet, bc he needs to have the work table empty and not be interrupted by walk in costumers, he said he will come in Sunday, as it will take him all day to do it. On Saturday I went by unannounced to pick up my external drive that I left there. To my surprise he said, he did all the work yesterday, but the computer is broken and I lost all my data. I was immediately suspicious, how and when did he do all this work? Why did he not call me to let me know that he was done? We discussed what my options are and he offered me to buy a refurbished labtop from him instead. I said I was going to sleep over it. On my way home I decided to go to another place that offers the same services, Once we opened it, the inside was still covered in coffee. Technoland did not take it all apart wash it and put it back together. This guy told me, if you would have brought it in right away, he could have been possibly saved, but at techn land he just put it on his shelf and did nothing, but charged me $100 for "diagnostics"! My USB-C charge port on my Dell XPS was not working. Though Steve could not fix it without replacing the motherboard (which would have been extremely expensive), he was able to enable another USB-C port on my XPS to be a charge. Problem solved. :) read more

My laptop keyboard was getting stuck on certain keys and after doing my own remote HP website tests it was certain that the keyboard had issues. The challenge for me was to find the right person since I am very sensitive when it comes to repairs of any type of electronic equipment. The HP Website had some suggestions of repair shops in my area, but they were mostly franchise type outfits, which I did not care much. I found Steve at TechnoLand on Yelp and I was somewhat happier knowing that he was licensed and certified. So, I show up at the store and while checking the keyboard issue we also recognized that my 1 TB SSD hard drive was almost full and was going to give me a headache sooner or later. I was so nervous knowing that I had complicated cloud drives as back up and that restoring the data mirroring my laptop setup would be a challenge unless the right person works on it ... I needed someone to really care and take ownership of the challenge. Long story short, Steve not only explained every step of the way of what he was doing but also, why he was taking the precautions in backing up my data in multiple locations. He not only completed the job in a matter of 48 hours but took the time to set up the new hard discs mirroring what I had before. This was a complicated process. I have found a new friend ... I have a super old iMac that Steve was able to bring back to life for me in less than 24 hours. Steve let me know my hard drive had failed and what my replacement options were based on what I use this computer for. He didn't push the most expensive option, he even advised against it, which I appreciated. My iMac works better than the day I got it and he walked me through the new programs he installed and was even able to save my old files! There's parking in the front of his office as well as in the back which is also good to know. Let me just tell you how amazing this man is! I came to him this weekend, frantic, balling, having a meltdown after I went to two different places that quoted $900 to $1000 to recover data on a hard drive that had over 15k photos and videos I need for work. He put me at ease that he would do everything he could to retrieve the data and called me the next day (he doesnt work on Sundays, but he had a lot of work to do and didn't know when he would be able to get my hard drive looked at unless he did it Sunday) and told me he would have it ready by Monday! I have never heard such sweet words! At a third of the price, I happily paid to get all the files that I've spent 2 years collecting! He is an honest and fair man! My Lenovo laptop wouldn't display the settings page, so I took in to Technoland. Steve took a quick look and immediately knew that the windows software had been corrupted. I was shocked when he said I could get the laptop back the same day, but he was true to his word - he called me in 4 hours to tell me it was ready for pickup. In addition to updating my Microsoft Edge version, he added some things I didn't have (eg, Adobe) at no additional charge. My MacBook pro kept shutting down and then would not turn on after the latest update. I freaked out as it is how I work. I looked around and came across Technoland. It was relatively close to me and I dropped my computer off. THE SAME DAY- Steve repaired, cleaned and updated my laptop all for less than a third of the price of what Apple was going to do it for with great customer service. My computer cpu has been overheating (90C on idle) and it was a really big problem that I was unable to fix. I came to this guy and he immediately helped. I left the computer at ~10am today and I came back at 4pm today and it was back to normal, plus, he cleaned the fans and updated everything. Through my own stupidity, I caused a paper jam in my Epson printer. Could not see the piece of paper that was causing the jam, and nothing I found on Youtube helped me.
