I take my coffee pretty seriously, Teddy's coffee is one of the best I've ever had. Teddy's has good breakfasts and burgers and that's the basis for my four stars. The thing I like best is that you can actually get a genuine medium-rare (pink in the middle, not brown or red) burger. Most places give you medium or medium-well done when you order medium-rare. A few give you raw. But the cook at Teddy's gets it right every time. When you move away from breakfast and burgers, the situation is more spotty. I liked the fish and chips. However, the lemon chicken with fettuccine was not good. They have home-made clam chowder (on Fridays) that's pretty decent. read more

The best thing I can say about this place is you get exactly what you pay for. I ordered a short stack of buttermilk pancakes, 2 eggs over medium and country potatoes. The eggs and pancakes were exactly that eggs and pancakes. But the potatoes were bland and they were cold. Seemed like they had them sitting on a plate for a while. When I told the server, he apologized and quickly tossed the potatoes into a bin with attitude. Never again, I don't care about price. I'd rather pay double for a good experience. read more

This spot gets so crowded on the weekends. I stopped because of the curiosity of why this place is so crowded. Well, I received my answer, I ordered breakfast the usual 2 eggs, turkey sausage, hash browns, and some English muffins. Man, I will say that this place has fresh fresh food and the customer service was pretty good, even with a crowded cafe. I was driving near by this place I saw empty and thought it wouldn't be good, but I was surprise their food was really good , I had veggie omelette and pancakes and was not disappointed, today I'm having chilaquiles and they are good sad part it's Sunday takes a bit of time to be seated. Stopped by yesterday to have lunch and read the Sunday paper. Had the salmon dinner, which included mashed potatoes, vegetables, and soup or salad. All of the above was neither good nor bad - just okay/so-so, as you'd expect at an unremarkable, low-key diner. For dessert, I had banana cream pie. It was old and stale, like it had stopped being fresh about a couple of weeks ago. Still, it wasn't spoiled or anything. If I were in the neighborhood again and wanted a nice, wide table to read the paper on while I ate a quick lunch, I'd go there again. read more

Worst breakfast burrito I've ever had. Most of the food here is terrible but it's like $6.95 for a whole dinner, so you get what you pay for. I just moved to the area and was missing my old breakfast spot. I came here and it was absolutely amazing! It is seriously charming and the staff is super nice. The boyfriend and I are not fans of The Scene. Hard to escape it in this part of LA sometimes, but Teddy's is on our list of under-the-radar favorites. The prices are hard to beat, especially for food that isn't scary. We get out of there for less than $10 per at breakfast, and that included bevvies and a fresh-squeezed o.j. YUM. I could leave totally satisfied on $6 if I were to forgo the juice. But why? The owner and the regulars add to the appeal. The bussers are super-fast with a smile and water or coffee or refills. TIP WELL, because these guys are always bustin' it, especially when the joint is busy. When it isn't, they always make us feel welcome to play a game of cribbage and do the slow-sip on the o.j. My main caution to you is try to avoid the bathroom. It seems more truck-stop than homey local joint. Also, if you are a coffee snob, you can tank up after you leave. read more

First of all, huge parking lot. Second of all, WAY better prices than any Denny's or Norm's restaurant. The food is cooked better and Teddy is usually there and is the man. It's busy during weekend brunch but it's delicious. Fun wine and beer menu. Long-time locals know this place's menu by heart. If you are looking for a decent-priced, family-friendly diner completely decked out in California / Hollywood / Santa Monica memorabilia (but not in a tacky way). My wife and I came today to check out Teddy's cafe because we heard nothing but good things. She got the lemon chicken and felt that the chicken was to dry. I got the prime rib with mash potato and gravy I thought it was alright but wouldn't go back for more. All in all it was just like an average diner. read more

My first yelp review goes to Teddy's. Why? Because I've lived in LA for quite a while and being from the midwest I immediately fell in love with the quant, friendly, down home atmosphere that is unlike any place around. I've been here hundreds of times and plan on being a lifer. It's super cheap for LA and almost everything is pretty great. A few things are the best around. Hot turkey sandwich is so awesome, but the best thing is their chicken fried steak, a rival to the best anywhere. The food there sucked. I ordered The breakfast that was similar to the Grand Slam from Denny's. First the the cheese they put on my egg white was a Kraft's single cheese and it tasted awful, then I discovered a piece of broccoli on one of my pancakes. Teddy's Cafe has been around for quite a while. The owner, Teddy, is a very friendly and kind individual. I always see him behind the counter taking orders and delivering food. I have been going to Teddy's Cafe for years, and I have never been disappointed. The food is good and the price is right. I particularly like the hamburgers because you can taste the "real" meat. Their oatmeal and omelet breakfasts are also quite good. If you're in a hurry, you can take your food on the road. I understand that Teddy also offers catering for weddings and special events. This place is a great value for breakfast on the Westside. It's a little annoying that it is cash only, but there is an ATM on site.

Came in for a bite after we purchased our brand new Cadillac. This restaurant was warm and cozy. Good food and nice service
