    Brownie sundae nightcap

The sweet tooth is always satisfactorily satiated here at Swingers! Great desserts to cap off a long day and night. A fantastic late-night establishment with a diverse menu, besides desserts. My favorite dessert is the brownie sundae. Servers are a bit spread thin, and can be more attentive as a result. Nevertheless, overall experience is still great, supported by a cool, hip ambience.

Solid breakfast spot serving all the diner classics right. I came by with friends after a night out and it was just what I needed to start my day. First and most importantly the coke was perfection. I ordered a tuna melt and although it wasn't anything special is was definitely done right. The bread was toasted perfectly so it didn't get soggy. The fries here are also really good and the waiter gave me a pool of ranch to dip them in. Everyone else really enjoyed their food as well. Would definitely come back when we're in town.

No matter how I feel when I come here, I always leave feeling better. The ambiance, service, and food always make me smile. I could go on and on about the vast menu but the truth is today's superstars were the grilled blueberry muffin and the brownie sundae. This place is everything Max and Helen's tries to be but isn't . Things are always on the bright side here and you never know whom you're going to bump into either. Thanks for always keeping it real Swingers, one of the last true ones open late.

Breakfast sandwich and him potatoes, so very good!

My husband loves taking me here. This is one of his favorite places to eat. We visited Saturday 7/18/26 after a concert we left that took place at the Saban. I got the breakfast sandwich with the home potatoes. Hubby had the breakfast sandwich and we shared some French toast. The food was delicious, as usual. My first time having the breakfast sandwich and it was so good, even the potatoes were pretty great. The French toast gave us that deliciously sweet kick that we both needed and enjoyed. The waiter (don't remember his name but he had a pretty cool mustache) was awesome. I asked for chamomile tea, he didn't think he had anymore so I chose a different kind of tea. When the tea was delivered by a different person, to my surprise it was chamomile. Our original waiter came over a little later and asked if I was ok with it. I told him how I appreciated him. It was pretty busy at this time of night and the guy was working his butt off. Touché to him! my husband and I appreciate you! There are so many different personalities that come through here while you're hanging out and eating your food, the vibe is always entertaining. I'm sure since my husband loves it here, we'll be back again soon.

The cooks are pieces of sh*t when you dine in they give you nice and fresh fries but when you order fries to go. They give greasy disgusting fries. The waitress was nice tho...tall blond chick.

The hospitality here is amazing. The seating and environment is very comfortable, and the food is also worth the visit. I got the vegan burrito which was very hearty and packed with quinoa. The chipotle sauce brought the flavors together. The vegan nachos were my favorite from what I tried. Lots of yummy food, and I was really happy to see vegan milkshakes on the menu! Although I didn't try the milkshake (because the food we ordered was so filling), it's definitely a reason to come back. So many wonderful options and vibes!

All American breakfast with sausage and pancakes eggs over easy

Tl;dr; this is a vibe restaurant. This is a late night restaurant. This is a rare gem at the right time in the morning.... This is the type of place you go because you live nearby, you like retro decor, or it's really late at night. I've been living here for about four months and I just found out that this place is open till 3 AM... there's only a couple other places open that late around here, norms, and Mel's with our I honestly find quite confusing. The waitress on the morning I was in, had an excellent alternative Gothic vibe; I could tell she knew things, I could tell she's seen things... and as a literal fire truck sirens screams by in the intersection next to where I'm at; I am reminded this is the city... I live really close to here so I'm going to be back. Not necessarily because the food blew me away, but because I live walking distance. The sausage and eggs were on point. The pancakes were a bit doughy, but ask for me next time I'll just try the French toast... and maybe I'll put on a record; Tarantino get your heart out... three stars on the food, extra star for the wait staff and the service...

I went to Swingers Diner with a pal recently. I liked the atmosphere of the place. I had the All American breakfast meal. I liked the meal overall. I wasn't really a fan of the type of bread used for the french toast if anything due to its flavor and texture. I had the Brownie Sundae for dessert. The vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, and whipped cream were fine, but the brownie itself seemed a bit dry.

Cute diner with a vintage feel. A bit overpriced, but the portion size is good. They serve breakfast all all day and my friend got eggs benedict and she liked it, I got the Turkey club and it was good. Their ranch was very delicious, but they charged me for it without letting me know it's extra charge which I didn't really like. Besides that, the service was great. Nice spot if your looking for an old school vibe diner. There's also a photobooth in the back.

    Menu

Interesting cafe, definitely one of those places you need to visit once or multiple times in your lifetime. It's street parking, so it can be a short journey to the restaurant. The menu is packed full of choices to select from. The turkey club is packed full of goodness and served with fries, onion rings, or mac salad. The onion rings are the premier choice though. The staff is constantly hustling taking care of hungry diners and clearing tables for the next round of diners. You can go wrong visiting this restaurant.

This is one of my favorite diners in West Hollywood!! I've been coming to this spot over 15 years!! I love their "All American Breakfast" and their avocado toast...it's so good!!! Their service is very good too, they're fast and friendly!! They really make you feel at home here! The ambiance is not bad either...a place reminiscent of the old days!!

The food is amazing. Everything we ordered was delicious. Our waiter Jack was awesome, always checking in with us. Great service!! We had brunch and the diner wasn't too busy at the time we were there. They have tables, booths and outdoor seating as well. A big plus, the bathroom was VERY CLEAN!! I appreciate that!! Come and give them a try.

Swingers Diner was a spot my friends hyped up a lot, so I had to try it for myself. We went pretty late, about thirty minutes before last call, and still had a great experience. We ordered the chicken nachos and they were amazing, hot, loaded, and perfect late night food. The mozzarella sticks were easily the best thing we had and the clear standout of the meal. I got the Neapolitan shake, which ended up being vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup and strawberry bits. It was good, but my friend's peanut butter banana milkshake was way better and something I would order next time. I also tried the patty melt and the Swinger burger and honestly they tasted pretty much the same. Both were fine but not memorable. Service was impeccable from start to finish, which really made the visit enjoyable. Overall, Swingers is a great diner for classic diner food and late night cravings, but on a food quality scale I would put it around Norms or Denny's. Solid, comforting, and reliable rather than mind blowing.

The finger foods were beautifully crafted and delicious. You start with a brioche bread that was so buttery and sweet, almost like a dessert. It comes warm with butter and jam. The summer vegetable tart and potato rose were my next favorites. The tart had a nice flaky crust and burst with umami flavors. I also had the white, black, and ceremonial matcha teas. All were beautifully prepared. They also give you honey, but helpfully dilute it first so it's easy to pour into your tea. You also have the option of getting any of teas over ice. Service was attentive but not overbearing. We stayed and yapped our afternoon away, and our waiter was so gracious and made sure we continually had tea and everything we needed. Amazing experience. My husband has type 1 diabetes so we very rarely eat at Italian ristorantes. Chef Tara has helped us rediscover a new world of flavor without negative impacts on my husband's blood sugar and cholesterol. (Thanks for the variety of non-dairy cheeses!!) Tip for first-timers: go when you can have the brunch or the lunch menu. Then you'll have so many options that you'll have to return! Round 1 Polpettine (meatballs) are made from lentils and texture similar to the real ones; lovely marinara sauce and ground macadamia nut instead of parmesan. Complement this with the citrus notes that highlight the sauteed swiss chard with earthy Italian butter / gigante beans. Round 2 The same beans are in the Greek goddess salad: rich with tomatoes, kalamata olives, and fresh red onions. This was a visually stunning and paired well with the Sicilian almond 'tuna' melt. The tuna is by far the most imaginative. Again, Chef Tara and the back of the house nailed the texture and I loved the hints of crunchy celery. The capers injected tiny bursts of salt and tartness. The only moderation I'd consider is slightly crisping / toasting the sandwich bread -- but the tuna melt sando is great as it is. Pura Vida is a diamond in the rough especially because the storefront is pretty discreet. I sure wish that we lived closer. We'll be back for special occasions in our life!

Full disclaimer - I don't own a Tesla but came here with my friend who owns a Tesla and wanted to charge and check this place out for himself. There are a good amount of Level 4 chargers both in the main lot and secondary lot. The main lot chargers are treated with two massive drive in theater movie screens which at the time, the Jetson were playing as well as Freaky Friday. The diner itself has seating on the first floor for about 30 guest with tables and bar seating while the outdoor roof deck has alot more seating around the perimeter. As far as the food my first impression was that it was pricey. For example their basic smashburger named the Tesla Giga Burger was $14. The meat was smashed and thin and it is covered in sauteed onions and sauce. It was ok and just felt that should have been a $10-$12 burger. The fries were also ok but they also offered special sauces which you had to pay for. I did add a fountain drink and the server did say they use cane sugar colas and that was pretty good. I wanted to try more entrees like their chili and cookies but again I just felt like the prices were very high and did want to take the gamble on them after having my burger. Overall cool experience visiting the Tesla Diner which provided a unique charging experience in a very Tesla centric atmosphere.

This is a long-overdue post. République has been on my must-visit list of LA dining experiences for…read morequite some time. I just never realized where it was since I don't usually make it out to Hancock Park. Then one day, while I happened to be in the area, I stumbled upon it and had one of those "Wait...this is here?!" moments. You ever have one of those places you've wanted to visit forever, only to realize it was much closer than you thought? My first visit was actually for dessert after having a less-than-memorable lunch at Mish down the street. Unfortunately, I arrived later in the day and most of the pastry case had already been wiped out, leaving only a limited selection. The staff recommended the Dulce de Leche Cremadette ($6.75), and I'm glad they did. It was perfectly flaky, buttery, and sweet, with the dulce de leche tucked inside the pastry. The caramel reminded me of the caramel coating on a caramel apple. I also picked up some brownies at the staff's recommendation, and those were fantastic -- incredibly moist, rich, and delicious. Definitely a must-get. I was a little disappointed that I missed out on the majority of the pastry selection, but I was told that the pastries are made in limited batches each day and once they sell out, that's it. So if you're coming specifically for the pastries, get here early. Earlier this summer, I made the acquaintance of an OG Yelper, Joseph A., and we've been corresponding back and forth on Yelp. I happened to know that he's a regular at République, so I asked if he'd be interested in meeting me right when they opened. I figured if anyone knew what to order, it would be him. Joseph was incredibly kind and gracious enough to treat me to breakfast. I ordered his usual breakfast recommendation: the Regular Breakfast ($24), which comes with bacon steak, fingerling potatoes, a demi baguette, French butter, jam, and an egg prepared any style. Joseph went with the soft scramble, and I followed his lead. That was definitely the move. They really know how to cook eggs here. The soft scramble was absolutely divine -- creamy, delicate, and perfectly cooked. The bacon steak was a little on the salty side, but still very good. The demi baguette was excellent, especially with the French butter and jam. Honestly, I could have eaten several pieces of that baguette with the butter and jam alone. The fingerling potatoes were nicely seasoned and quite good on their own, but a few dashes of hot sauce really took them up another notch. I'll be honest: $24 is definitely on the pricey side for what you're getting, especially when you break down the individual components. That said, when you factor in the quality of the food, the setting, and the overall experience, I can understand why people are willing to pay it. We also shared several pastries, and every single one was excellent in its own right. I'm officially hooked on the pastries here. They just don't miss. Service was pretty good during my visit. One thing worth noting is that République adds a 4% surcharge to the bill to help cover healthcare for their staff. It's certainly something to be aware of when looking at the final bill. f you're looking for a quintessential LA brunch experience to take out-of-towners to, République is a great option. Just be prepared for potentially long lines, especially on weekends. I visited on a weekday morning over the summer, so I didn't personally experience the weekend crowds. My only real wait was at the pastry counter during my first visit. I've heard you can expect people lining up before they even open at 8AM, so plan accordingly. The cult following surrounding Walter and Margarita Manzke's restaurant/café is understandable. Between the food, pastries, atmosphere, and history of the building, there's a lot to appreciate here. And speaking of history, the building itself is pretty special. The property was built in 1928 by Charlie Chaplin. It became a restaurant in 1989 when chefs Mark Peel and Nancy Silverton transformed the space to open La Brea Bakery and Campanile. After Campanile closed in 2012, the building was renovated and modified to open up the space while returning it closer to the spirit of its original construction. République opened in 2013 and has been going strong ever since. Do yourself a favor and eat at République. Come for the food and pastries, but also take some time to appreciate the ambiance and the history of this incredible LA property. And whatever you do, get here early if you want the pastries. Once they're gone, they're gone! Don't walk--run to République.

The French toast was definitely a standout cinnamon swirl brioche with crème brûlée, corn flakes, berries, and Nutella. It was crispy, sweet, and loaded with toppings. The All American was a solid classic breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, and potatoes. We also split an order of the truffled waffle fries, and those were really good. They came out crispy, well seasoned, and topped with plenty of parmesan. Definitely worth getting for the table. Service was great as well. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and attentive, and our food and drinks came out without us feeling rushed. Our server checked in on us throughout the meal and made sure we had everything we needed. The ambiance was one of my favorite parts. It has a casual, lively brunch atmosphere with an indoor/outdoor feel, plenty of natural light, and a relaxed setup that makes it a good spot for a weekend brunch or brunch date. It felt energetic without being overly formal. Overall, we left very full and happy. The portions are generous, there's a lot of variety on the menu, and the combination of good food, drinks, service, and atmosphere made for a great brunch. Definitely somewhere we'd come back to!

Customer Service is great! Waiters are attentive and go above and beyond…read more The food here is good, nothing amazing but good. Portions I will say are pretty large which I think is awesome. I feel like the food can be a little bland at times. Truffle fires are yunmy and omelettes are good. Parking sucks but everyone knows this area has poor parking in general. The space is small so it fills up fast so make a reservation or show up early: Seating is a bit crowded so I opt to always sit outside. It's a spot I go back to when I am catching up with a friend. You can trust that the food won't be bad and the place can be a vibe for a casual dining experience.
