The food was okay it took me 10 minutes to get my food and absolutely no one was in the place and all I ordered was a hotdog. I do plan on returning but it is not my first choice to get a hotdog. The hotdogs are real Vienna beef so I do give them credit for that. read more

In my humble opinion Teddy's has one of the best beef sandwiches around. Always perfectly seasoned with a great beef to bread ratio. Staff is chill food is great location is prime. Highly recommend this over Portillo's or Bouna. read more

Great quick spot. Stopped in for a Hot dog and Beef for lunch and it was surprisingly good. I usually go to Buona but i was feeling a hot dog. When i got inside i saw they had beef and decided to try it. Touche Teddy! Great flavor and quality, but a little expensive for the size. I can't say that it will replace buona in my heart, but at least i know there is another spot who knows how to do Italian Beef. read more

I definitely prefer this little "hole in the wall" over the bigger chain joints. They prepare your food while you wait/watch and are excellent about special orders. I will definitely continue to support this local spot. read more

If you'd like to pay for ridiculously overpriced and average fast food that charges Portillos/Buona prices, plus has a "manager" more than willing to bicker, argue and point at fine print on a $10 Groupon adamantly denying two be used by one person in a day, then by all means feel free to frequent this outdated hole. I've used two $10 Groupons before at restaurants even though fine print may say differently, but the manager of this place was fine denying me to do that, even when I pointed out I could walk out the door after using one and then come back in to use the second one. He flat out refused and was fine arguing for 10 minutes even though I told him I'd never come back. Finally used one on soggy crinkly fries ($2) the size of a MCD value fries, a nearly $6 beef/cheddar with little cheese and more fries and a hot dog. You can surely find better value and customer service than this place. I've never seen a manager of any restaurant or fast food place actually willingly argue with a customer, but again this guy was clueless and said they were doing business "the right way". Also not sure if 50's decor is on purpose or if owner is still living in the past. read more

I finally tried Teddy's because I bought the Groupon. I went in an tried a standard Chicago dog and fries. After mentioning the groupon, the man at the register hit a bunch of buttons and then accepted my groupon. I sat there eating my food and added up the amount in my head. The guy at the register added ten dollars to my bill only to take that amount of, essentially negating my groupon. The red hots were standard and really nothing special, but ripping me off like that really turned me off from this location. It was out of my way to get here, so I won't be coming back. read more

Teddy's is by far my favorite beef anywhere, i would recommend it to anyone. Unfortunately their prices have gotten so expensive that they have become a once a year place for our family.( this is true for both locations ) 1 beef, 2 hotdogs, 1 hamburger, 1 jumbo and 1 regular fry, 2 drinks, and 1 Italian ice for a family of four, $55, which is insane. Just for comparison, we went to fuddruckers the previous month and dinner for the 4 of us with 2 beers was cheaper. read more

I've been going here since high school and their food is always delicious. Their fries are usually made when you order so they're fresh and don't taste like they've been sitting under a warmer. Their hot dog on a pretzel bun is good if you want to try something a little different. I don't live in Darien anymore so it's out of my way to eat here but I still do it because it's that good. read more

Not sure what the difference is between the Plainfield location and the Main St. I would not compare the hot dogs to Gene and Jude's or Jimmy's in Chicago (they both have fresh cut fries) but they aren't bad. What I like is the Cheeseburger. Its grilled and takes a few minutes. they toast the bun and the burger is good meat and its juicy. Although the place looks like they had their half blind cousin do the last renovation they keep it clean and the the kitchen is spotless. The Italian Beef is Okay ( not great but worth a try ) and the Italian ice is wonderful. read more

I like their Italian Sausage but they do not offer red sauce on it. Most other Italian Beef and Sausage places that I go to offer this as an option like giardinera and sweet peppers. Combos are good as well as Polish Sausages. They will do a Polish Sausage dressed as a hot dog which is my preference. read more
