Stopped in for a quick bite around 10 pm, place was mostly empty, but went based on Yelp reviews. Very unfriendly greeting, had to ask for menus, ordered 2 appetizers and 2 drinks. The food was awful, so greasy it was inedible. . Drinks weak, not even sure there was any liquor. Bill was over $80..... not sure why so many good reviews. It was down right depressing, a mediocre band playing and not many people there, while the rest of Broadway was packed. Would not be my choice ever again. Sorry to write such a bad review, maybe if staff had been pleasant we could chalk it up to an off night, but I don't think so. read more

Truly delicious burger at $12. Every other restaurant we stopped in to in Nashville was $15 to $24. The $12 also included delicious French fries. Service was great, & atmosphere was as well. Not sure why they ask how you want your burger cooked. We had two Burgers and asked for both to be medium. They were so done, they were crispy. Fries were good. People were super nice and comp'd a burger but if you're expecting a really good meal...maybe not. read more

This is a great bar for chilling at with friends. We went to the rooftop part of it for the seasonal decor they displayed. They also had Christmas themed drinks, including a Christmas ale and spiked hot chocolate. The hot chocolate could've been stronger. The bartenders were nice and the place is more divey. Seating is relatively limited so I wouldn't recommend large parties, but the patio on the roof would be great for summer. read more

We stopped in here after the Country Music Museum. Downstairs is quaint but small. Good live music. There are actually two more upstair levels to check out. The top level has frozen slushee drinks. We loved Teddy's. The manager told us it would be the first bar we visited, the last bar we visited and the only one we'd remember. He was partially right. It was the first and last stop during our trip. The staff was so friendly, especially Emerald, and the music was great as well. Note--quick confession and apology to make. I first visited Teddys last summer (June, 2023) and had a great experience. Unfortunately, I left the review for Teddys on the WRONG business page. Not a mistake I believe I've ever made before. I was in a large group and we stopped in several places back to back. I mistook Teddys for a neighboring bar with a name that seems very similar to me (but I won't mention it here, though I will review them for their specific traits separately). However, I stopped back in last week before a show at the Ryman and instantly recognized my mistake. Here's the thing--like most locals and long-term transplants, I rarely go to Broadway unless I have to. I love going to shows at the Ryman and Bridgestone, but rarely dine or drink in the area unless I'm entertaining out of town guests at their request. But, trying to get ahead of rush hour traffic and snag some affordable Music City Center parking for said concert, I made it to the area a couple of hours early. It was a beautiful, unseasonably warm spring day and I wanted to chill out on a rooftop bar and nurse a beer while eating an appetizer before heading to the Ryman. Teddys seemed the perfect fit. Unfortunately this time around, the roof was closed for a private event. With construction and barricades in the area, it left the view on this sunny early spring afternoon completely obstructed so I couldn't justify hanging here too long. I ordered a beer anyway since I was here, and it was great. Teddys is partnered with Fat Bottom Brewery, a great local brewery, and have most of their beers on tap. And for happy hour (several hours late afternoon into evening AND later on after dinner) they do $5 beers and $10 cocktails. This is pretty fantastic and completely unheard of for Broadway. Service is friendly, there's also usually some live music to be heard. I drank my beer, hung out a moment, then headed out. Unfortunately I went to the other bar I mentioned earlier, where I'd long ago mistakenly left my positive Teddys review. Service there was friendly and they have a larger food menu--I was also able to sit on the roof and look out at the city. But for the price I paid 3x the cost of drinks mere steps from this place at the same hour of the day. So take advantage of Teddys when in the area especially if the rooftop is open. Here, now is my original review finally moved to the proper space! I can't speak to the food here as no one in my party ordered any, but in terms of location, friendliness and efficiency of the service (based on our visit), and general vibe, I'm calling it a 4 star spot for now. I'm generally not a "Broadway person." I have lived in the area just shy of 10 years now, so enough time for it to feel like home, but I haven't done a crawl through Broadway in many years (most of those were as a tourist before I moved here anyway). While I love live music and a bit of nightlife, I tend to favor the Rock Block or other pockets of activity around town depending on what's on the agenda. I will visit the area often if I'm seeing a show at Bridgestone or The Ryman, but I tend to detour around this entire area as much as possible when doing so. However, we had a friend in from out of town who wanted to experience what it was all about and a group of us joined along for the ride. And I'm really glad I did, I have a shockingly new appreciation for this entire tourist-packed aspect of the city. It was far better than I remembered, and maybe it was just the company or a good night for us. Who knows. But we kicked things off here. They had the live music thing going downstairs and the guy playing was doing a solid job. The bartenders hooked us up quickly and chatted, very friendly and personable. We spent the bulk of our time here on the rooftop and it was a great night for that. There's also a bar up top with quick, friendly service. Prices, while not cheap, are fair. We lucked up with free beer passes from the street team outside and that's pretty unbeatable for a Friday night in late spring. The taps are all Fat Bottom and each is a tasty brew. Solid kick-off to the night and from there I rediscovered the quality of much of the music being played down here and was surprised to realize that the type of music on rotation was more diverse than ever, catching up with the rest of the city (while also maintaining what they know most of their folks are visiting for too, a nice mix). read more

This place is the Nashville I remember. The burger I had was not that great but I was hungry and didn't care. The house beer at Teddy's is simply amazing, and the place exudes an old Nashville charm that's a refreshing change from the commercialized Nash-Vegas vibe that seems to dominate the city. It feels like you can't walk two steps without bumping into the latest artist's newest upcoming bar. Teddy's offers a welcome escape from all that commercial noise. I'll keep this short and sweet - Bartender(s) : no hospitality/ not greeted/ - didn't even crack a smile. - Had to ask for a food & drink menu. - Got the menu, sat down and realized I'd rather spend my hard earned cash elsewhere so left. Best Hamburger in downtown Nashville! Handcrafted, grass fed beef patties and a great bun, with a kitchen that is open to midnight!! The French fries were also hand crafted and were the best fries I have had in recent memory. The staff is very friendly and the vibe is not of the mega-tiered corporate clownshows going on around the corner. The musicians playing here in our 3 visits so far have been playing more authentic country music. The beer was also hand crafted and delicious. My only critique is that the plastic glasses they use here are not standing up to wear and tear (they look shabby). However, that's a small complaint. It's also an historical place, the building itself was a stop on the Underground Railroad. Ask the staff and they will give you the story. read more

We went here once when we arrived to Nashville for lunch before checking into our Airbnb - Musician was good, food was pretty good, but the service was a miss and our drinks tasted like they had zero tequila in them and we had ordered doubles. Decided to give it a second try the next night for a round of drinks at the rooftop and the bartender up there made much better drinks.
