I came here for the first time years ago for a Yelp event and loved the giant gingerbread milkshake I had around Christmas time. The cup had sweets adorned around the cup, such as sprinkles, with whipped cream and a gingerbread cookie on top. It had great flavor, the woman who assisted me was wonderful, and I looked forward to returning. I don't live nearby but have come by a handful of times since. Flavors are posted on social media daily, as well as on a hand written paper by the drive thru. Some flavors are made with local Sundae's (located in Geist) ice cream. Outside of my first visit for the event, customer service has been terrible. A young man always opens the window and just stares at you. No greeting or smile or anything to make you feel welcome. If you ask him any questions, he acts very put out, sighs, and comes back with an answer a little later. The shakes no longer have edible decor on the cups and are no longer topped with anything but prices are high for one shake ($8+). I tried to come here with a friend (their first time) over the weekend and customer service was again...not great. I asked what was in the blueberry cobbler shake and upon the young man's return, he told me it was blue raspberry ice cream to make it with. Uhmmm... I asked if they had blueberry ice cream and he just stared at us. I said, "I apologize if that's a weird question." Again, he just stared at us. I asked what the Twinkie milkshake and he sarcastically said, "It's just Twinkie." Maybe a dumb question on my end but I don't care for plain vanilla ice cream so I was curious how it was made. Cake ice cream, icing swirl...? I felt downright unwelcome at this point so I said, "Maybe another time but not today, thank you." and he just closed the window. I never need to come back and my friend said, "I am so glad we didn't spend any money here!" So disappointed because support local, especially mom & pops, is important! Sweet owners + sweet treats = 5 star experience. Why are owners Taylor and Jerome so cool?! They not only own this ice cream shop, but they also own a dentistry practice and are both dental hygienists. They joke that their two businesses keep the other one going. Honestly, so clever. They're also getting married next year! You could say they're busy. This shop is currently closed on the inside and only open via the drive-thru to keep everyone socially distanced. I honestly prefer that, as it makes getting ice cream in the winter even better... you don't have to get out of your car! Tons of great reviews may be a bit misleading. Walked in on a Saturday night and the place was welcoming enough. Sprinkles wallpaper and people sitting inside playing checkers. Workers were relatively attentive (as much as high schoolers are) and the price isn't too bad either. I've been wanting to come here forever and finally made it! At a little after 6PM on an on and off rainy Tuesday, we were the first in line! A few arrived shortly after us, but the line stayed quite reasonable while we were there. It was so hard to decide because there were so many amazing choices! The fruity pebble treats were fresh and delicious with soft marshmallow and crispy fruity pebbles....mmmm...these were definitely made today. The strawberry ice cream went perfectly with the fruity pebbles and had excellent flavor with good chunks of strawberries. The size of the treats is perfect in my opinion. Two good sized scoops of ice cream on the two fruity pebble treats made for a hearty dessert without crossing that "I'm starting to feel sick, but it's so good I'm going to keep eating" threshold. You could definitely come here AFTER dinner rather than just do an ice cream dinner! I definitely want to try the donut sandwiches and other flavors of ice cream. I actually live dangerously close...and now that I know how nicely the treats are packaged, I know I could come here even if I don't have a buddy in the car with me to hold the ice cream while I drive. Part of going to an ice cream parlor is the experience where you can see the ice cream in the freezer, sample some flavors and ask questions face to face before making one of the biggest decisions of you life....what ice cream to get. Plus for those who have a long drive, it is hard to have the ice cream sit for the 30-40 drive home. Do I pull over and eat it or do I speed home and hope not to get a ticket in the process. Devouring it in their dining area would solve that dilemma. They have daily flavors available and are on the board as you drive up. Some flavors are there one day and then may be gone the next, if not the same day. Anyway, of course I got the donut sandwich with raspberry rumble ice cream. I could not wait to get home and dig in. It did not disappoint. My crew got a cup of the cookie monster, cookies and creme and strawberry. They all loved their ice cream too. Theirs did not make it home. The staff there was so friendly. They even showed us what some of the ice cream that we were not familiar with looked like such as the cloud, which by the way is cotton candy on a cone. With the sandwich, you get to choose the ice cream that goes in the middle of the donut, plus you can choose a topping from their toppings list which I have attached to this review. We waited in line for about 45mins and it's worth the wait! We ordered 2 donut sundaes and a single scoop with gummy bear topping for a child. The choices of flavors are plentiful and unique. A friend told me about TeeJay's ice cream, specially the cinnamon ice cream and I had to pick some up. I have a couple pints of Jeni's Skillet Cinnamon Roll and needed to compare the two. The two are completely different. TeeJay's is smooth and is a lot more cinnamon forward throughout each bite and it's oh so good. Think drinking the milk at the bottom of a bowl of cinnamon toast crunch cereal. I also picked up a pint of Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownie. It's super good with a strong peanut butter flavor. TeeJay's is great! The ice cream and toppings were all great, but my favorite part was the donut. I am not sure if they make them or if they are sourced, but the donut were great. Not too heavy, and the glaze added a great taste to the ice cream. We arrived early because last time we tried to come the line was closed, but this time we arrived over an hour before the shop closed, and they still luckily cut off the line two cars behind us, so I would recommend going early before closing time. While we enjoyed it, I would add a couple things. First, the line was so long. As much as I liked it, I do not know if any ice cream is worth an hour long wait, but I know that is nothing they cant totally control. I would say they should have some sort of sign/guide or menu for viewing before you get to the ordering station. We somewhat knew what flavors there were, but only because we seen them on Instagram, but I am sure a lot did not, so they could not prepare ahead of time for what to order. I feel like this could speed up the process, so that everyone would be prepared by the time they get to front, since there are so many ever-changing options. After my first visit I had to go back! I was at dinner with a friend and we decided ice cream would be great dessert. When we looked at the time it was getting close to TeeJay's closing and i was worried they would be locking their doors so I called and told them I was bringing a newbie with me and we were around the corner so please don't close! Pulled up to the side window to order, they have no inside dining or ordering. Ordered a Gingerbread Freakshake and a Double Hot Fudge Sunday with Chocolate Ice Cream. After ordering we were told to drive around and park in front of the building. They have a sign up telling you not to park in the parking lot. My only qualm is that I wish the menu options were more clearly stated. The menu is handwritten, which is understandable since they switch out flavors, but I honestly did not know how to order the beautiful things I'm seeing from other customers on this app. My boyfriend only knew that you could order two different flavors with the donut sandwich because he saw someone on Yelp mention it (thanks Yelpers!). Everything is super super sweet but good for an extreme sweet tooth as long as it's not too often lol however I do recommend this business. The service was great and price wasn't too shabby. read more

Wow this place is sinful in the best way possible. They have so many creative flavors and menu items. Check out their social media pages for daily specials and some of their most popular items. I ordered the peanut butter pie milkshake. It doesn't look like much from the picture but holy moly it was amazing!!! It literally tasted like the blended up a peanut butter pie and put it into a cup. There were bits of chocolate cookie crust with peanut butter flavor. I kept eating it even after I was full because it was so good. As you can see from the picture the portion size is quite large and will run you $7 but could easily be shared between two people. My only complaint is that they are doing drive thru only orders and it gets backed up and can take awhile for them to bring out the order. I think they could be a lot more profitable if they opened the inside for additional orders. read more
