This review is only for the happy hour... it was my first time here ,the reviews are what brought me in. First things first,we went in for the happy hour prices 6$ margaritas & 5-6$ appetizers. We ordered chips and salsa from the regular menu which were 3$ Uuuum,PASS the chips literally tasted like plastic & the salsa had a bitter after taste however,I also ordered the buffalo wings and my fiancé ordered the steak tacos ,they were really good actually especially for 6$ bucks! And you get three tacos filled nicely and about 8-10 wings . Now on to the margaritas . I ordered a frozen strawberry margarita from the regular menu and my fiancé ordered the house one from the happy hour menu ,I'd say the HH drink was much stronger than the 10$ I ordered but maybe that's because it was frozen . We ate here for a quick bite during off-peak hours so it wasn't crowded and got seated right away (however service for simply getting water to start took longer than average). What was nice tho was discovering they have a great happy hour deal. We had the Lime chicken wings, Elote, and Tacos al pastor- and of course a margarita. Everything was SO flavorful and I savored every bite. I'm a pretty picky eater and I have to say I had a hard time deciding which was my favorite. I went here on a Monday, which is has $5 & $6 Margarita specials. Our server rushed us to order the drinks, since we walked in a couple minutes before 8, the end of happy hour. We were thankful and ordered, until we read a sign and had to remind our own server that since it was Monday, the margaritas were the same price all night. The margaritas were tasty, but light on he tequila. And the service went downhill from there. Now we did have a table of 16 people, which can be tricky at times, but our group is very patient and accommodating; half of us having worked as servers at some point in our lives. But there was no excuse for how bad the service was. First, we had to get up and ask for menus. Then, we had to ask if there was a tapas menu as well, which she brought 1 of. Our food came out at hugely varying times, and none of the servers knew what food went where. After that we were pretty much ignored. We had to flag down the server to get more drinks. I had eyed a desert that sounded yummy, but the server never came to ask if we wanted desert. She brought us our check about 30 minutes after all our meals and drinks were finished. The food that I had was pretty tasty (bacon wrapped figs with churrizo & fish tacos), and I liked the atmosphere, so it's even more disappointing that service like this will keep me from coming back. It is very frustrating when I server knows that she automatically gets 18% for a big party, so doesn't try AT ALL. For a server who tries, our group always tips way more than 18%. Too bad. You missed out "J". Maybe I would have better luck at the bar next time. But I'm not in any hurry to try. read more

One of the best places I have tried! My friend and I were craving for Mexican food and this place was on our way to the hotel. They have a deal all day long for many of the menu items such as taco (not the fish ones), wings, nachos and drinks. We had a regular nachos (no meat), tequila lime wings, chicken and steak taco, and finally the amazing steak enchiladas. All the food were tasty and satisfying. The one con that can get annoying is in the evening when the place next door starts to play music. The dirty dog was good, the wings were VERY small they were nice and crispy but I couldn't taste anything but skin because the wings were so small. Decided to stop here after sightseeing due to its high reviews but I think it's a little overrated. The chips/salsa were very tasty, the margarita was unpleasantly strong (maybe most people won't complain about that), and the food was okay. My boyfriend ordered the tacos, wings, and quesadilla from the happy hour menu and he was very satisfied with it all. I ordered the steak fajitas and although the portions are huge, the steak was extremely under seasoned, the onions/peppers were barely cooked, and there was no cheese/lettuce to place on the fajitas. The flour tortillas were very thin and a great texture. The rice and beans were tasty as well. Overall, I wouldn't return if I lived in LA. read more

Even though I know that this post won't do a damn thing, my experience there tonight has every right to be read and seen. I have been to Te'Kila numerous times over the last 3 Years, and never once had my Government issued ID ever been questioned, until tonight. To the two idiots that refused my government issued drivers license, one of them was named Daniel, the other refused to give me his name and was so unnecessarily rude to me and my group of friends, that he felt the need to show off the length of his very short dick. It was actually insulting the way that he treated me and my friends. I asked to see the manager multiple times and he wouldn't even move to go get the manager, instead he brings the other douchebag named Daniel over to take a second look he said, while of course I already knew that he told Daniel the situation, because unlike the two of them, I have a brain. So after countless times asking for a manager, none ever came because these two wouldn't leave what was giving them apparent joy while I was being insulted by them. The fact that they wouldn't get a manager is absolutely ridiculous and so unbelievably unprofessional. And the way I was treated, was unquestionably one of the worst experiences I have ever had to go through. Not only will I absolutely never come back to TeKila, I am going to make sure to specifically go out of my way to tell each and every person that I know in Los Angeles to never give any money to Te'Kila, because what I experienced tonight should never have to happen to anyone else. I will be calling tomorrow and hopefully will speak to an actual manager, because those two idiots truly ruined this place for me and my friends. read more

The atmosphere is fun and laid back but I would not recommend the salads. When I first ordered, my meal did not arrive fully prepared and after I mentioned it to the waiter, though they were nice enough to remake the salad, the added ingredients did not taste fresh.
