I've been coming here for a while but I had a horrible experience yesterday that I've never dealt with my entire life. I usually NEVER write bad reviews but this was horrible. My friends and I ordered shots and when we received the tab to pay, we were shocked by how expensive it was. Obviously we were going to pay, but we stood there trying to figure out who could pay because our friend was experiencing difficulties getting her apple wallet to work. The bartender starts screaming and being incredibly aggressive at us, is cursing, telling us to "get the f*** out". We were honestly so terrified, we didn't even spend that long trying to figure it out, I get it was a busy night but this was such a scary experience. We paid and he gave us the second tab and again we took a second to try to figure out, he starts screaming again and because my friend is so stressed accidentally gives a 10 cent tip instead of $10. He then got so pissed about the tip and told us to get out, like omg this was so uneccessary. Walking down the strip this bar lounge drew us in with the loud music and the DJ mixing some familiar 2000s tracks on a Friday night. No cover to get in (big win there) and security got us in pretty quickly. Not sure what the dress code is but there is definitely some subjectivity going on as my buddy was initially told he cannot wear joggers but I was let in wearing joggers two people before him. Security did recognize their error and eventually let him in. Once inside the place was definitely a college crowd. Music was heavy on the Bay Area side with music videos being projected. The DJ did mix it up with some Bad bunny and Drake at times. We got one order of drinks, took a bit to get to the bar because of the crowd but eventually can get through. Don't recommended getting a fancy cocktail here but the bartenders have some heavy pours so you can get something for cheap. They do offer bottle service with some VIP areas which is nice to sit down at. Bottles come with mixers if preferred. In short, you can definitely start or mix in some dancing to your night by coming here. The energy got to fun levels for a good part of our visit. read more

Literally LOVE this place. Every time I come in the vibes are there, the music is poppin, bathroom is clean, drinks are delicious, etc. I've been to a lot of bars/lounges/clubs in downtown sj and Temple is definitely in my top 3. No cover charge which is always so nice, the people inside are super friendly (and cute), and security actually cares about the people. Drinks are good, it's a club in the back which is exciting. Honestly the worst dj experience out of downtown that's for sure. Their Friday night DJ is a 40 year old fighting to stay young with outdated music and a pre made playlist, goes to show how lazy he's come since his music playlist matches the tv's. You can buy bottle service and skip the line to get in but I don't recommend it. the tables are not close to the bar and people from the dance floor usually go and sit at the tables anyway. Omg! Went on a Saturday night around 11:30 and I've never seen a line that long in my life! I can't justify waiting in that long line just to get drinks and dance. We ended up getting a bottle to keep save our time which ended up paying off. It is SOOO packed inside. There were many moments when people were ready to fight although it's not our fault it's so crowded. The crowd is definitely rude and uptight. Our table was in the way so it was really hectic as well. Was it worth it tho? Most definitely because it was really cheap! I have a bruise on my foot from girls stepping on my feet! Overall the service was good, the girls were super sweet and nice! Security wasn't too bad although I had different experiences with them compared to my group. I wouldn't go again if it's not bottle service because again, that line is NOT the business. I recommend coming early and being polite! However, I decided to officially write a review to warn people of what you might encounter business wise. I do like to tip bar tenders and the like. However, it was around 1am last weekend, my 2 other friends and I were not in our right minds fully, but we didn't cause trouble. I decided to ask if they have AMF drinks just to see what else we can get apart from other drinks we had. The bar tender starts to make the drinks right on the spot. I wasn't feeling good about this. Then, I go ahead and say, "wait... we just want shots". Then, I get billed $54. This was extremely unethical imo. I did not tip and they said they won't be giving me a receipt. From here on out, I wasn't feeling the night. Be careful. The employees there are becoming slick sales folks. I don't think I'll be going to San Jose to "party" any time soon. Stood on the railing of a stool to look for a friend. Was told to get down but told the security guard I'm looking for a friend while I'm on the phone with him. Security guard had some sort of power trip, put me in a chokehold (nearly passed out from it) while I was asking to retrieve my phone (giving him the phone handsign cause I could breath) that fell when the security guard grabbed me. Eventually, outside the club, I push that same security guard and yell one obscenity at him and another bouncer just knocks me out cold out of the blue. I would give it a zero rating if I could. Few bad things I noticed in temple 1. I saw the bouncer literally hit a women because she was trying to have a conversation. 2. The bouncers feel like they own the place and they reject people entry based on their color or their mood. Our group waited for 40 mins in line. We saw two fights with bouncer happen in the 40 mins where they were being abusive. After eating for 40 mins they rejected my friend entry as she didn't have a valid visa stamp. Her passport was valid and she was over 18 years. The bald and fat bouncer guy over there said "I make the rules and I can't let you in even if your ID is valid. I need to see the visa. I've been here a few times and I have a good time here with my girls. If it weren't for my girls I don't think I would have a good time because I don't think I'd voluntarily interact with the crowd. A huge plus about this place is that I like the music here. They play a good variety of throw back 2000s hip hop and current hip hop. From R Kelly ignition to Travis Scott, they played it and I was feeling it. Good jams. I liked their drinks but I think having Hennessy shots after having 3 cocktails was a bit excessive. Hennessy killed my white friends since they don't do well with darks at all. Cocktails: Had 2 sea breezes (vodka, cranberry, grapefruit juice), I recommend this drink for ladies that want something a bit sweet and sour. I was really into this drink so I was trying to have a third and the bartender told me she would make me something better and whatever she made she called it "hot dog on a stick" it was really good, less sour than the sea breeze. I might as well add in that at least for my experiences here, the ladies in the restroom have always been super sweet. But that's probably because we're all drunk and bubbly. I love nice drunk women. Man.... since my last review of this place, things have changed. i gave this place another chance, glad i did. I come here a lot on Thursdays now with my friend! its kind of a weekly thing. Depending if theres another event going on that day, it'll be packed or kinda dead. It usually picks up and has more people coming in after 1130 or so. Bottle girls, especially the little Asian one will push you all and smack you in the head with whatever they got in their hand with absolutely no regard and cuss you out if you react. Bouncers will come in and try to kick you out saying they're just trying to do their job but that's in no way keeping any clientele. Working in the service industry myself, I was trained to be as pleasant as can be; saying sorry or excuse me at the very least because they're people we serve. Maybe some of them need to change side hustles if they hate paying club going patrons enough to treat them this way. Just terrible. 0/5 star if I could. The security guards are obnoxiously rude, harass and abuse people who want no trouble and just minding their own business. Saw five security guards(couple of them bald headed) unnecessarily jump a guy who was just trying to reason with them for kicking his friend out who they thought was "drunk." He ended up in the hospital seriously injured with a concussion, broken nose, bruised eye, a deep cut on his forehead where you can see the inside layer of the skin where blood was dripping from. Positives: the front door security were thorough. Dance club in downtown SJ so that always needs at least 1 star from me...haha! Nightlife is fun! Music here is somewhat better than the music played at Fuz next door. Negatives: came here between 9pm-midnight with a group. Was extremely packed. The security needs to implement some sort of wait time for more incoming people because it needs to be less crowded before more people enter. Floors were sticky but you probably can't do much about that if people are bringing drinks to or across the dance floor. Overall a good place is you want some "wholesome" foreplay with someone on the dance floor before your "main event." : ) read more
