My favorite coffee spot in Sacramento! Multiple locations. Great coffee. Yummy pastries. Each location has its own cute little vibe. I usually just get my iced soy latte sweetened with brown sugar, and every sip is just heavenly. I look forward to my morning cup of joe from this place, it's just sooooo good! The service is superb, workers are super friendly. The S St. one is my favorite location, it's this adorable cozy brick building, dog friendly. Temple Coffee is peaceful, cute and smells like roasted perfection the second you walk in. I got an iced vanilla latte with oat milk and it was so smooth and balanced. This is a very cute spot, perfect for studying. I was excited to try it here! I'm a huge matcha fan and I was a bit skeptical if it was real matcha. This place seemed like a genuine legit coffee spot so I assumed they had authentic matcha. To be sure, I asked the cash register if it was actual matcha, if it tasted earthy, and told her how much I love strong grassy earthy matcha. She said yes to my questions and said they used a good quality matcha powder. To my surprise, I got a very milky matcha drink. I don't even think I can call it a matcha drink. It tasted like a matcha flavored milk. The color was incredibly light. I wish I took it back and got a different drink. I took a few sips, threw it away and went to another coffee shop. Next time, I know to ask what color the matcha drink is. My partner got a Mexican mocha and that drink was actually good. I wish I got that instead. I would definitely get that if I came back. Don't know if I will though. Giving it 3 stars because I wish the person taking my order knew more about matcha and realized that if I was picky about matcha, I wouldn't like theirs. I genuinely wouldn't call it a matcha drink. If they're going to offer a matcha drink, they should make it right or even at least close to how it's supposed to be made/taste. This place was highlyyy recommended by my colleagues and I'm so glad they did! I got here around 3 to do some work and it was a little busy, probably residual from lunch hour, but I would try to go here not around peak hours because parking could get a bit tricky! I ordered an Iced Mexican Mocha with the homemade whipped cream. It gave the feeling you get of having a hot cocoa after a cold day, of course without it actually being a hot cocoa - just very homey in a sense! what's there not to like about this location. . the patio is pretty amazing. the patio is big and lots of tables shared with the wine restaurant. there is plenty of big community tables as well. . parking wise there is a parking structure for you to park if your visiting the whole foods too. . My go to order is their ice drip, which is ice coffee. They rotate the flavor daily or every other day. I love drinking black coffee to taste the beans. I love latte and other drinks too but nothing beats a ice black coffee. . If you are here on the weekend for coffee, you also dine next door at revolution which has great brunch options. . When it comes to the large variety of coffee roasters in the Sacramento area, I would have to say that "Temple Coffee Roasters" is as good as it gets. Since debuting their first location in Downtown Sacramento (back in 2005), they currently have (as of 2023) eight locations and roasterie all in the greater Sacramento area. Since the competition is fierce with coffeehouses as well as making my own espresso/drip coffee from home, I usually visit Temple once a month on average. The location I am focusing on is none other than Midtown/East Sacamento at the corner of 29th and S St's. If my memory serves me right, this has been around since 2009/10 as this is a very popular spot a little bit off the grid. From an artistic point of view, this has got to be one of the most quaint and original buildings where they serve coffee. At first glance, it looks like you're going into a private residence. Especially with the lush landscaping surrounding it. The inside though has a very cozy feeling with the low ambient lighting, brick walls, soft meditating music, the abundance of seating, and the impressive rear of the building where they have a full display of their coffee grinder. From an aesthetic standpoint, this setup and layout is more what you'd expect in Seattle or San Francisco so I give all the credit where credit is due for the folks at Temple to truly make this place stand out boldly and proud of their business. The coffee itself is bold, strong, and exactly what you'd expect from a coffee roaster. I've tried their competitors ("Chocolate Fish", "Pachamama", "The Mill", & "World Traveler" (just to name a few) and I feel that Temple has always been consistently delicious. Everything that varies from cold brew, French press, espresso drinks, teas, and everything in between. The food here is freshly baked on a daily basis with a nice assortment of cookies, homemade breads, and muffins. During my visit, I ended up going with their "Iced Vanilla Latte" (for about $6.45 + tax). The drink tasted sweet with the rich, aromatic flavor of the espresso. Having tried many of their drinks, they have always ranged from above average to excellent. The primary reason for deducting a star to this review is primarily because service can be very slow. I've come here on numerous occasions where it can take up to 25 minutes from the time I park my car to the time I leave for just a simple drink. Other than that, this is an above average "Temple Coffee Roasters" that I highly recommend. read more

Almost always hopping, every time I come, probably due to their close proximity to the Sac Co-op. I love their chai, although at $7, it's a bit pricy. My husband and I are visiting town and Temple is a short walk from the Airbnb we're renting so we dropped in for our coffees this morning. We got an iced americano, the "camp counselor" seasonal drink, and a banana bread. Everything was ready quickly and I LOVED my camp counselor--it was so refreshing! The glassware was pretty too which is always nice. There's lots of indoor and outdoor seating. The staff was polite and friendly, even to one of their unhoused neighbors, which was lovely to see. We'll probably be back at least once before we have to head home. read more

Went to Sacramento for a Kings game & tried this coffee place in the morning. The shop has a gorgeous seating area out front, with all the plants and greenery and inside was a perfect area to come in and sit to study or read. It wasn't too loud in there but there was enough tables and seats. Oh & cute stuff for sale: mugs, tumblrs, shirts, hats, etc. Staff was friendly and answered questions and offered recommendations We tried the mocha and matcha latte. The kiddos had hot chocolate. I did ask for the hot chocolate to be room temp but they came too hot to even carry. Kids weren't too happy to wait for their hot chocolates to cool down but the drinks were good. I don't ever leave reviews, but in this case, I had to - it was beyond rude. I came in from Starbucks with a drink because they closed and I stopped by this Temple location in the evening, like always and typically get a chai latte or an iced hibiscus. An extremely rude barista (this one is typically obnoxious - everyone needs to hear her stories and opinions), immediately walked to my table after sitting down and began scolding me, tossing a temple sleeve with disgust on the table and then proceeded to tell me how rude I was for doing such a thing. I don't get why she couldn't just kindly let me know they have some policy or whatever it is, seeing that I always give them business. I guess the expectation was for me to throw out my whole Starbucks drink if I didn't cover it with the sleeve? Again, I had not even been seated for 2 minutes and I was planning on getting an iced hibiscus after getting settled, like always, and no other baristas ever mentioned anything - it's a non-issue, but this barista wanted to make it a mission to reprimand me. Usually bad service happens, like after you are served...but this was next level - I literally sat down and was unofficially told to leave. A bad apple ruins the bunch, hoping the manager wises up and cuts her loose because that behavior is unacceptable. read more

But then created this amazing coffee shop location. Is you like fourth wave coffee this is the location in the Sacramento area to experience and immerse yourself in. I love coffee! I've been visiting Temple for so many years now...however I am obsessed with their tea! If you want to try a tea that mimics a latte try the Enlightenment tea (steamed jasmine tea with honey and milk) or the Bliss tea (similar to the jasmine tea but uses peppermint tea, a good decaf option). What a fabulously bougie coffee shop. Came here with a friend to catch up and we were so enamored with the bougieness of the spot. This shop is fairly close to my home and I have never took the time to stop in, boy am I happy I took the time to do that this evening. First things first it was pouring down raining, 7pm on a Sunday and it was still packed. Full disclosure I am a dealers choice kind of gal and I cannot tell you what I had. At the suggestion of the barista I had something with coffee and sweet DELICIOUS! The place is a vibe, the prices are reasonable to craft coffee. My one drawback for the location itself was staff started walking around saying they were closing an hour before the listed hours. One drawback for the area is: PARKING. I believe parking was two hours on the street, parking lot was small, and if you're a renegade there is the parking garage for the coop that has plentiful parking.... but your car MAY get towed. read more

There's a very small and tight lot right next to it but otherwise there's street parking and possibly a parking garage nearby? We saw this coffee shop near our house since we are looking for a nice meeting location earlier this morning. I was amazed how good the interior is. Love the vibes, kinda busy on a saturday morning. There is enough parking area for the customers. Love their danishes. I ordered vanilla latte coffee and butter croissant. Forgot to take a picture of it but its great. Love the place and the price of their coffee and food. Nice place to hang out and do some work project or stuff. Very cozy and they also have an outdoor seating if you wanted to. This is a nice little local coffee shop that we sometimes walk to, there's usually a good amount of people studying, working, or just hanging out chatting. There's plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, extremely attentive as well. I had the Mexican mocha, it's definitely super chocolate-y as expected but I substitute the milk for almond which made it even more chocolate-y lol and we also had the vanilla latte, which is super yummy and a classic. One thing I would say is there pastries run out pretty fast, and there's not always a lot of options available. We enjoy stopping here during our walks. read more

I've been coming to Temple ever since high school (10 years) and they've been consistent through it all. They keep their menu and flavorings simple, my go to is always their vanilla latte but they had recently added a new syrup, brown sugar which is absolutely delicious!! The staff is always friendly and helpful as well. The inside has plenty of seating that does tend to get packed pretty quickly, but I always opt to sit outside. Their patio is beautiful and perfect if you just wanna sit and enjoy your coffee/tea or get some work done. read more
