For those of us born and raised in the hills of East Tennessee, we know good corn liquor along with the history and legacy that our families left us. For the life of me, I can't figure out what these folks doing. Frankly, I don't think they know either. This is an attempt to capitalize on the moonshine craze in and around Gatlinburg and the Smoky mountains. Their products are custom made for tourists that really don't know good corn liquor from the commercial products. The staff seemed clueless when I asked about mash bills, proofing, and what makes them different from the other distilleries in the region. It's a good place for whisky. You can sample any of their products. They have some typical tourist magnet items to buy, but for the whiskey it is a good place to go. We will go back when we are in the area. read more

We combined 3 bottles for a "Natalie's Apple" (Apple Moonshine, Salted Caramel Whiskey & Creme Brulee Liquer). Always a nice stop on our way to the Smokey's! Tennessee Legend Distillery on Newport Hwy is amazing. The shop is small and cute. Diana, the distillery's sales women is friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. We have vacationed in Gatlinburg for the past 3 years and love visiting the moonshine places. We drove past Tennessee Legend on our way in and made a note to come back and to add this business to our agenda. We are so glad we did. Their products are awesome!!!!! I can't remember the gals name who initially helped up, but she was very friendly and answered all of our questions. In addition to their whiskeys, their store has a lot of interesting trinkets in stock to buy. I really liked the silicone birds that can be nested on the edge of your glass so that you know which one is yours. On our way out of town when we were heading home, we stopped there again and Matt assisted us in another purchase we made. This is a must see place to stop. It is a little off of the beaten path, but well worth the extra time. read more
