I had not been here in a while, maybe 2 years. I liked that they had fresh aguas and fresh tortillas, oh and the salsa is not bad. We came into town and decided to have lunch here. My husband ordered the red chili chimichanga and I ordered the green chili plate with rice and beans and it came with tortillas. Our son ordered a side of rice and a bean burrito. We are big red chili fanatics and my husband did not like his red chili chimichanga. It didn't have the red chili delicious flavor. My green chili plate was ok but not great. The portions are very small for the price which is $14! Tiny portion of beans and rice on a small plate. Not worth it. Our son ate half his burrito, he loves his bean burrito and didn't finish it. His tiny portion of side of rice was also over priced. He didn't even finish that. There are so many great places to eat in Tucson. I will not return. read more

This is a great breakfast or brunch place. Highly recommend huevos Rancheros if add the chorizo it is perfect. It was not soup on the plate as I've had other places. It held together and was just Damn tasty. I ate it all which is saying something for a foodie snob like me. The warm homemade tortillas are just a treat. Even the retried beans were good, honestly the best I've had in Tucson- they had flavor but not over the top. Had stopped by previously but unfortunately they were closed. Stopped by around 5pm on a Friday night and so worth the wait. Start with the Cadillac margarita - one will make you happy but two and you might need a designated driver Each meal tasted fresh and homemade. Watching the tortillas being made fresh was quite the treat. By the time we left, parking lot was crazy full and a mass of people waiting to get in. Out of town for a conference we stopped in with two young boys (8 & 10yrs old) to meet my colleague for dinner. There was some difficulty getting a table to seat 5. I ordered a margarita, the heaping mound of whip cream drowned out the flavor of tequila. The mole enchiladas were minuscule. The cheese quesadilla was good. A kids menu was unavailable, so we ordered mini chimis, the kids were unimpressed. The restaurant sits atop a hill with a beautiful view of the foothills and is in a better neighborhood. Disappointed. Came in with my family as we were passing through Arizona. Chicken tortilla soup was very salty- overwhelmingly so. Added lot of lemon to cover it up. Chinichanga appetizers had no flavor, shared with the rest of the table and they enjoyed them. Horchata tasted fresh. Nieve frita was good. Really turned off at the fact that this lady (photo attached) was flipping tortillas with her long acrylic nails. First off, serious health code violation. Went here on recommendation from a friend. It's a cute restaurant on a slight hill which allows views of the Catalina Mountains. The decor is Mexican style using lots of color. I ordered chicken tortilla soup. There were far more tortillas in the soup than liquid. It was a large bowl which had little flavor. My friend requested chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. This was the first place me and my girlfriend went for dinner in 2016. We loved the food . We go there every year for our anniversary!!!!

It's been a few years since I been craving to come back to this place, but I can't be more disappointed and upset with the service. There's an extremely disrespectful staff that is running the place to the ground. Server's carry a long face and ignore you, even if you call them. The host is lost, and no one is helping each other, it seems there our for themselves! My family and I came here after a long 3 hour flight from Dallas. There was no hostess , complete disorganization on who should be sat next. When we were finally seated no one greeted us or acknowledged us. I had to get up and let the server know we had been waiting a while and she screamed at another girl in Spanish to go take care of us. Again we waited another 10 minutes and no one came. I let the same server know this and she again screamed at another server "GO TALK TO THE LADY!" That's when we got up and walked out. I have posted a previous review on this place for serving my daughter raw meat and decided to give them another chance. Came to mosaics in Friday morning to get menudo con pan. The kid wants it but it takes overnight to make menudo so came to mosaics cafe to get a bowl for approximately $10. I'm glad they expanded the parking lot as it was right before the expansion, even today at 11 am the parking lot is almost full. read more

Hands down - THE BEST green corn tamales I've had thus far in life are at Teresa's Mosaic in Tucson! Yes, they have a full menu of delicious delights - but if you're a Yelpie Foodie (I know, redundant right?) and of you haven't had a green corn tamale at Mosaic yet... then you have not lived! Seriously, their green corn tamales made from scratch there in the restaurant are so good I could cry! In fact I'm tearing up a little even writing this review knowing that I'm in Seattle and Teresa's Mosaic is in Tucson and it's going to be a while before I get to come to town and visit. Why! Oh why?! Must these green corn tamales be SO good and yet so far away from me? Okay - dramatics aside... These tamales are a must try if you're in the area! Sweet but tangy, dense but soft and moist. The masa mix is heavenly - not quite dessert sweet but such a good sweetness level paired with the rest. I like to order a little sour cream on the side too sometimes to kick up the tangy contrast up a notch. Other family favorites: cheese crisp, enchiladas verde, carne asada and albondigas soup. The cheese crisp is another one of those Tucson famous delicacies... highly recommend you try it at Teresa's Mosaic too. Light, flaky crust covered in cheddar cheese topped with roasted green chiles... Yes please! That side of sour cream you ordered, goes really well with the cheese crisp too! The restaurant is beautiful inside and out! I love the southwestern architecture, the colors and the inviting feeling of "welcome home" when you step in the door! The tables and chairs are gorgeous - each mosaic table is individual and a unique work of art! The waitstaff are friendly, very attentive and efficient. On all my visits over the years- the food has always come out fast and hot and my water glass was never left empty! A+ Family friendly place - but they also have a good selection of drinks. I tried the Prickly Pear Margarita this week and was pleasantly surprised. Just like the wonderful green corn tamale- the Prickly Pear Margarita was the perfect mix of sweet and tangy with some kind of citrus sugar around the rim of the glass. And it was pink! Well here goes. We took the grandkids to dinner. Two flautas platters, two veggie chimis. Look at the menus. Maybe a $46-$48 total including taxes. We drank waters. The chimis were filled with runny beans. The children's flautas were soggy. But the WORST part is that my husband have the waitress $100 bill and never got change. Even if we'd left a $30 tip that would mean $40 back. His mind slipped and we waited but they never gave him change. When I found out my husband called that night 10/2/22 and they said, "ok come pick it up tomorrow" and they took his name and phone number. Today he showed up to pick up the money and they "muscled" him and gave him a $30 GIFT CARD. Really??? This will be reported to the police and to the better business bureau. This is THEFT by the waitress and the business who refused to give him his money back that he paid the girl in cash. I can't remember her name, but she said " oh, my sister is also vegan and this is what she orders" when she recommended the soggy, runny bean chimichanga. DO NOT GO HERE. There are too many better places to eat with more ethical staff. I spoke on the phone with Isaac who told me to have my husband go to pick up the cash today and he "muscled" (or at least tried) my husband. That $30 gift card will go to the first hungry homeless person I see. We don't need the money; it was the unethical behavior of the waitress and Isaac the manager that gives rise to my complaint to police and the BBB. read more

Teresa's opens at 7am for breakfast and they close at 9pm , so they are available for all three meals. We went for breakfast and had a good meal. They were busy but no wait. They had a large selection of breakfast items, which was nice. The service was great. We were promptly seated and drink orders taken. Because the waitress had several other tables she did not get back to us right away. We were not in a hurry so it was no biggie. We ordered and received our food in decent amount of time. The food came out hot, I like my hot food hot. Presentation was great. I ordered Huevos Devorados. Flavor was good, but not as spicy as I prefer. They do serve a small bowl of salsa to add if that was your preference. I did not try the salsa and it has been awhile since I had been for lunch, so I am not able to comment on it's flavor. They were getting even busier when we were finishing so it took a bit longer to get our check than I would have liked. Overall, great meal and happy to return for another one. read more

This location is by far the best of the two. The North Side location just isn't consistent with this one. This is a great place for a date, you can sit outside at the small patio which overlooks the city. They used to have mariachis here on the weekends but they let them go for some reason. Big mistake. The 3 guys they had performing here were amazing. We actually quit coming as much because of it. They were one of the big reasons we came in. I think I first came in to this location because I saw them on Throw Down with Bobby Flay.( I love Bobby Flay) They had their huevos rancheros on there and it looked amazing. Well it is, I came in the next weekend and was not disappointed. Normally I order their albondigas which I think is the best in Tucson. Really the best anywhere I have tried. So now me and hubby share a plate of the huevos and we both order a small soup. He loves the menudo. We also order the cheese crisp. Amazing!! I don't know how they make it so yummy but they do. I really hate myself for always ordering a 9 dollar tortilla covered in cheese when I can do it at home but mine just never tastes as good. Their chips and salsa are a hit too. Now I recommend this location highly over the other. I have order all the above at the other location and there is always something wrong with something we order. The soup isn't cooked all the way, or the taste just isn't the same. The salsa always tastes different which makes me think they wing it every time. And the salsa for the huevos isn't the same as this location. Neither locations are great for kids because they don't have a kids menu. WHY?! You seriously can't put a bean burro on the menu for kids?? This tells me you either don't want kids in your restaurant or you just don't care to give your customers a break on the price. This really annoys me because I have to order my kids ala carte. Also the customer service at both locations is always lacking. People who work here always seemed pissed off and in a rush for you to leave. And I can't finish this review off without saying something about the tortillas. They are freaking good. I used to work in the area, so it was always a go to place when people from work wanted to eat out. (And not get fast food!) Nice ambiance. Kinda fun watching the tortillas being made fresh. :) The free salsa and chips are yummy. I usually order enchiladas or beef tacos. I wouldn't say they are the best I've ever eaten, but they are pretty tasty. :) Their cheese crisps are good, but really heavy on the cheese. Normally that is a good thing, but it's a bit greasy, since the tortilla/cheese ratio is unbalanced. Their tortillas are so good, but the abundance of cheese overwhelms it. My favorite is probably the chorizo cheese crisp. The green chili crisp was a bit sparse on green chilis. The pork adobado tacos were pretty good, but nothing like the Tijuana style ones you can find in San Diego. Although maybe it isn't supposed to be that style?? I appreciate that their bathrooms have an outside door that separates the bathrooms from the dining area. There is nothing worse than having to sit near a restroom where you can see the toilets every time the door opens! Service is usually pretty friendly. They have Mexican beer on tap....so make sure to ask! :) If you are in the area, you should check this place out. I hear they have a pretty nice happy hour. :) read more

This place is practically across the street from us, so I often forget about it, but it is a bit of a hidden gem. The décor and slightly hidden location are nice, the tortillas are fresh and made in house. The huevos rancheros are some of the best in Tucson, and the breakfast burritos and salsa are also to die for. We need to come here more often, maybe for dinner next time... the service is good, and it's very authentic. The one thing I didn't enjoy was being asked by a lady sitting outside to donate to a charity as we were trying to read the specials the board outside. There's a time and a place for this, and I don't think this is one of them. read more

This is the best Mexican restaurant we have ever eaten at . It is a must try when you are in Tucson . We drove down from Phoenix for the weekend and had dinner there . It was so delicious we came back the next day for breakfast . The guacamole dip was delicious , the salsa made fresh at the restaurant . My son and I fought over the last piece of cheese crisp with chorizo . The tortilla is made at the restaurant . It was so light, soft and fresh ! I ordered the shrimp fajitas and there was so much shrimp I left 3 of them on my plate . I just couldn't eat it all . The flan dessert was heaven to end the dinner . For breakfast we had the famous huevos rancheros. My husband even said their coffee was delicious as well . If you truly want authentic Mexican food in a very modern and chic restaurant , this is the place . The wait staff and service was exceptional ! There is plenty of parking at the restaurant . We were seated promptly, and the atmosphere was nice. That was about it. The plates were skimpy, and they messed up our daughters chicken and cheese quesadilla (two ingredients). She had to watch us eat most of our food until her quesadilla came. The dish I ordered (#11) was served with rubbery carne asada to which I spill out over half on my plate. My husbands ordered the Alfonso plate. His pork loin was dry. Husband paid $26 for a pitcher of margarita. It was disgusting and we barely drank a glass each. Then my daughter ask for dessert. The waitress said they had chocolate cake and fried icecream, and a churro. Daughter chose chocolate cake. Only, we recieved chocolate mouse. HUGE DIFFERENCE! We won't be going back. read more

They have the worst customer service and it seems that they are freaking upset (bad mood) to include what appears to be the owner. The waiter rushed us to order our food even though they are at 50% capacity and they were not busy. Please take my advise and go somewhere where your money and you are valued. We called ahead to make a reservation and were told that they weren't taking them and that it was "first come first served". I wish. When we arrived we were asked if we had a reservation and were told it would be a 30-40 minute wait. We sat and sat while watching other groups who came in much later than us get sat and while tables sat open in full view. After a good hour we were finally sat and weren't offered drink menus which we had to ask for. Our fresh made tortillas were served 5 minutes after we ordered and sat for 20-30 minutes getting hard and cold while we waited for our meals. We asked for new ones and the waitress took them and reheated them. They were now even harder. We were entertaining out of town family and this place was an embarrassment. I highly recommend, I can't say enough great things about this place. I'm Mexican and very picky with Mexican food since I believe my grandmothers home cooking is the best but this place is equally just as good. That saids a lot. I had menudo which they make fresh on sundays as well as huevos rancheros. Menudo was really good, tasty not salty and perfectly cooked. Huevos rancheros was amazing. It's like a party in your mouth that you don't want to end. Over easy eggs with salsa under a corn tortilla with beans. In house made tortillas were so good, I don't like my tortillas with flour on them (powder) these were not. The salsa was really good as well. It was all tasty and flavorful, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. My server was Bernie make sure you ask for him he is great and helped us make our first visit extraordinary. We were a party of 9 tourists, we chose Teresa's out of convenience. We all agree that this was, by far, the best meal we had in Tucson. The menu is vast, but not silly overwhelming. There is a daily special. Food is perfectly seasoned, nobody is trying to make a man out of you by dousing the salsa verde. The wait staff is impeccable. The cocktails were imaginative, yummy and heavy handed. Ambiance is pleasant. My fav part is that a very nice lady stands there and makes your tortillas as you order them, then hand-delivers them to you. Since I was unfamiliar with Tucson, I booked an important dinner at El CH**** (a Tucson standard latin place). It was horrid. So much regret. But good news for you.
