Sweet restaurant with a lot of personality. I love the beautiful bright ocean color of the building, but the views of the Tucson mountains from inside were stunning! I'd love to go back there for an evening meal to see the city lit up. I bet it's gorgeous. Plenty of parking is available. Lunch with Mom, who had dined here before. The food was good and the place was hopping with people. I'm guessing this place is filled pretty regularly. As for the food, I tend to judge my chile relleno pretty strongly. This one held up. Not the best I've ever had, but worth eating the whole thing! The flour tortillas were hella good. I think they make 'em here. Mom enjoyed the flat enchilada. Though we didn't partake, they have a nice cocktail menu and I bet happy hour and brunch are good. They charge for chips and salsa. I'm not sure how I feel about this, but given the climate post Covid, I understand restaurants need make up for lost income right now. Overall a positive experience. My sister in-law went a few months ago. She did not like it. Ordered 'to go' twice. The first time, a few weeks ago, was very good. Today - not so much. Stale desert (chocolate cake), I ordered a hamburger (I read an article where Mexican Restaurants have the best burgers because of all the 'fresh' ingredients). My bad; it was not edible! Came here with a big group for dinner and loved it! They had all been several times so I was excited to try it out. I got a shrimp and green chile plate with corn tortillas and it was divine. The shrimp are giant and take up a tortilla by themselves. Loved all the veggies it came with! read more

The food is fantastic! Everything we had was excellent. We were told by the girl at the front that it would be a 5 minute wait for a table so I told her we would be in the waiting area. Another couple came in and one needed to use the restroom. The front girl came back and asked if the guy waiting for his mom to come back from the restroom, needed a table. He said yes and she seated him. She then came and asked me if we needed a table. I told her that we were waiting, per her instructions, for the 5 minutes. She replied " Ohhhh, yeah, I'll let you know......... " trailing off. A minute later I went to her kiosk and asked her if she had seated the other people at the table we were supposed to get. She replied "No, they had a reservation". We were seated next to the other people when the next table came available, (perfect) so I asked them if they had a reservation. Of course they didn't, as I figured. The girl flat out blew her job and then lied to cover for herself. After paying for the meals I was able to relate everything to the shift manager who said she would discuss the issue with the young girl. The wait staff was OK, nothing special, she passed our table several times without a glance or an ask if we needed anything. It took 10 minutes to get a Bloody Mary from a quiet bar, and 10 minutes of waiting after finishing our meals, to see our waitress to get the check. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated, no booths, just tables. The large glass window wall with a view of the city is nice but it reflects a considerable amount of noise back into the dining area. But again, the food was great, I know we will be back...... to get take out. ;-) read more

I have always like going to this restaurant. On my last visit it was discouraging because we ordered red menudo and the bread was hard as if it has been reheated or it was old. Chips and salsa are sold for $3. Normally chips and salsa are complimentary in other restaurants. I don't think I will be returning. read more

Lorenzo is the best server! This is my husbands favorite spot. We came here during dinner this time and he got some beef flautas. And he completely cleared his plate. I got some shrimp ceviche and it was delicious. Our normal go to food is huevos rancheros and I really like their albondigas and menudo. Love this place. Fav joint for Mexican food in Tucson. The main reason my review is so low, I ordered a chimichanga with the guacamole on the side for my coworkers chips telling the server I was allergic. When I got my chimi I could only eat half. Placed online order for 2 DZ. flour tortillas. This was my third attempt to get tortillas. Tried to reserve with a phone call, they said they had no tortillas to sell. Tried by walking in to the restaurant and was again denied even though I could see a stack of tortillas a foot high. Paid online for the order, printed my receipt and went in to pick up at the bar per the receipt instructions. No bartender on duty, sat for five minutes. Hostess did not acknowledge me, so I asked her who was tending bar, she said she would help me. I said I was here to pick up my online order. Teresa's is one of my neighborhood favorites, and I'm so happy it's back open. I've enjoyed everything I've eaten over the years, but my go-to favorite is their chicken tortilla soup, which comes in two sizes. Tender chicken, savory veggies in a delicious broth and topped with cheese, avocados and tortilla strips. It's perfection in a bowl, especially during cold weather. My other favorites from the menu are chicken tacos (really any of their tacos,) cheese enchiladas and huevos rancheros. The staff is always so friendly and the wait is never long, even when it's busy. I was happy to see a full house for dinner the last time I was picking up a to-go order, which was a pleasant surprise for 5 p.m. on a Thursday. Teresa's has been a Tucson staple for 40 years now and we're lucky to have it back open for business. read more

I ate here after a hike the other day. There were five of us at the table. I had Machaca con Huevos ($12.50) with flour tortillas. We split a large order of guacamole, and they helpfully split the cost among our separate bills. All the food was good; the newly rebuilt space is beautiful, and service was good. We ordered guac to have with our chips but it didn't come until we were already done with a basket of chips. Yes, seriously. I typically get the three pancakes and share it with another family member since they are big. My partner usually gets Huevos Divorceados on the Oaxacan menu. Sometimes they're really good, and sometimes the sauce isn't so good. I must admit, I haven't been to Teresa's in quite some time but I was really surprised by the changes that has been implemented since last time I dined in this establishment with my family. We went on a Friday night around 7pm and waited a reasonable amount of time before we were seated (party of 5). We were seated at a large round table near the restrooms tucked in to a corner. About 10 minutes had passed before anyone came over to greet us at the table but we noticed after looking around, people sat after us already had chips and drinks. After our waitress came to our table and took our drink orders, we asked about chips and salsa. We were told that there is a charge ($2.75) for unlimited chips and salsa. I looked at the menu and it was not printed on there so I was really surprised. I honestly can't think of another restaurant in Tucson that charges for chips and salsa. The prices were reasonable for the portion sizes but I wouldn't say that there was anything spectacular about this place. The food was average and we spent about $100 before tip on 2 drinks, (3 waters), cheese crisp, 2 chili rellenos, chimichanga, chicken tacos (2), and bean tostadas (2). read more

I didn't know what to expect from this place, but heard great things from one of my mentors, and it did not disappoint! Apparently this establishment was closed for a bit due to a fire, but it's back open and back to serving delicious cuisine! They have a wonderful space to enjoy a meal, including a great view of the Catalina mountains, especially if you go around sunset. Our waiter was so friendly and made our entire table feel like we were at home! I ended up trying the machaca and ate the entire plate, despite its generous portions! Cute little local cafe that's been here for a long time. All the tables have their own mosaic tile designs and it's got a decent view of the local area. I went for breakfast and had the mole breakfast enchiladas and a cup of coffee. The mole was good but I found myself wishing there were papas in my enchiladas. The eggs inside were good but nothing too exciting. My favorite part of my meal was my warm flour tortilla and the refried beans. It seemed The beans were a little bit smokey and I thought they had good flavor. I'd like to come again and try more items from the menu and for different meals. It was really good, with a nice warm mix of spices. I got the small, which was more filling than I expected. For my main course, I ordered the Oaxacan Chile Relleno. I've had stuffed poblano peppers before but not like this. They stuffed it with a mix of spices, veggies and chicken. Then fried in egg batter. I also asked for fresh corn tortillas on the side. The Chile Relleno had a slight spicy taste from the pepper and the chicken/vegetables were really well seasoned. I brought my mom here whom is 70 yrs old here on a Sunday morning. We are Mexican/Peruvian by the way. We were seated within 10 minutes. The wait to order was not long as our waiter came by our table frequently. We started with coffee. Unfortunately, it wasn't strong at all. First red flag. Also they didn't have flavored creamer available such as vanilla or hazelnut but they do offer half & half and sugar. Mom ordered the tamale, enchilada and egg dish & I ordered the enchiladas de mole with refried beans. We also ordered a side of chilaquiles (topped with sliced white onion and cilantro) and a side order of 3 pancakes (accompanied by side of butter). The pancakes were a bit difficult to eat as the texture was similar to cardboard, but the egg mole enchiladas were great. The mole sauce was especially delicious! Mom said her plate was good except the flour tortillas were "chiclosas" idk how you translate that word....ok per Google that's chewy. Apparently they needed more manteca during the cooking process (mom's opinion). There was a single bathroom for each gender. Clean but no seat covers. The restaurant got busy after 9am and was quite loud making it difficult to converse. Last red flag, there was a pesky fly interrupting our breakfast for the majority of our visit. The waiter even addressed it as an inconvenience but otherwise didn't really phase him. It was SO annoying! Overall the food was alright, "handmade" tortillas not so alright, the decor was cute and colorful, waiter came by often but.....I honestly wouldn't return unless someone else insists. read more

Four of us came for breakfast this morning and everyone loved their food. My wife had an burrito enchilada style that was enormous, another person had the machaca breakfast and the last had huevos rancheros. Service was polite, friendly and speedy. Our food came quite quickly after we ordered, which was nice. The chilaquiles were wonderful, the eggs done perfectly, and the black beans were tasty. Of course the tortillas were piping hot and really good. The setting is great - the decor is very festive, and they are up high on a hill and the view of the Catalinas was superb. This is one of our family favorites! For everyone's birthday we come here without a doubt! We have a big family which means we need seating for at least 14 people. We got here at our reservation time and it was already set up and ready for us to be seated. We were greeted with a warm smile and they were happy to have us. The restaurant has a very welcoming feeling and is very clean. Their tables are so cute! It definitely captures the whole mosaic theme which is included in their theme.
