Tofu Teriyaki Bowl with Side Fried Rice
Rebecca S.

While I was still not impressed with their ( again) soggy tofu, the orange chicken bowl I ordered was FANTASTIC and I highly recommend it. Also if you order directly from their website, you get free delivery and can use a promo code for buy one get one bowl off your first order. For that reason, I would give Mad for Teriyaki another shot

Very flavorful, fulfilling and healthier taste than the famous mall chicken teriyaki food spot. Everything was so good and tasty, def a return spot.

Spicy Chicken Teriyaki Bowl I added my own extra sauce (sweet n sour & Side of Mad Sauce & teriyaki sauce came in a small container)

Ordered online and was satisfied with my Spicy Chicken Teriyaki Bowl with fried rice. I added the mad sauce on the side and it came with a small container of teriyaki sauce I think. The spice was there and the junior size was enough for lunch.

Mad Spicy Orange Chicken Bowl

Decided to stop by after leaving the supermarket. The restaurant was inviting and the concept was cool, so I was excited to try it out. The customer service was great, and all the workers seemed happy to be there. The restaurant was playing R&B music and it was such a nice vibe.. I went with the spicy orange chicken rice bowl as recommended by the cashier, and unfortunately, I was slightly disappointed with my meal. The chicken was tender and juicy. There was a nice little kick to the chicken however, the flavors that I picked up we're not reminiscent of orange chicken. Nonetheless, the chicken was pretty good flavor wise. The vegetables that accompanied the bowl we're good as well, and added some lightness to the meal. Unfortunately, the rice was not good at all. The best way that I could describe it is as soggy. I'm not sure what kind of rice is used but I would have preferred jasmine rice over what I was given. My initial instinct was to get the fried rice and based on the pictures on here on yelp, it looks like that might have been the way to go. If I was close by and needed a quick bite I would return, but opt for different rice option or select the vegetables as a base.

It was not a good experience in any way. I ordered chicken teriyaki with brown rice. After eating for 15-20 minutes and hearing 2 front staff members arguing and cursing, one of them comes and asks if I would take beef instead as they gave my order wrongly to a pick up and I can get what they ordered. Disappointed on my refusal, the staff got me my order much sooner. Chicken was good, but the rice was overcooked and hard, almost inedible. Horrible experience.. scary and inedible.

Steak teriyaki chicken katsu Mushy white rice

I've ordered from this establishment many times. Today was beyond a disappointment. I decided to get something different & ordered the two protein bowl with steak teriyaki & chicken katsu. Problem is I got steak AND NO TERIYAKI. This is the driest steak, where's the sauce. How do you serve someone steak teriyaki with NO TERIYAKI!? I looked at pictures of the meal beforehand and its not supposed to be prepared this way. And then the white rice was disgustingly mushy, it's like someone chewed it up already then served it. Idk what happened to this place so quickly but they need to go back to the original cooks that were there when it first opened. I didn't even eat the food & I want my money back.

NEW Orange Spicy Chicken Bowl Orange Chicken Bowl Chicken Katsu Bowl Steak Teriyaki Bowl

I was not expecting the food to be as good as it was. The place is new so the inside was super clean but don't know how long that will last. The food was good though. I was especially blown away by their steak teriyaki. The man at the cashier was helpful as well, I had a coupon and he helped me figure out how to use it.

Medium spice was not spicy at all for us. - Duck curry: a bit small on the portions but the curry is magical. Was scraping this plate clean. - Bo luc lac: star dish for sure. Beef melts on your tongue and the marinade is slightly sweet and smoky. - Summer rolls: small portions but the flavor is there. Super refreshing and special bc they pickle the vegetables inside. - Crispy pork belly: reminds me of the crispy pork I had in Vietnam. Really well done, pairs well with the lettuce and herbs. That green sauce is so addicting. - Papaya salad: super refreshing, nice fish sauce. - Crab fried rice: reminds me of the din tai fung fried rice bc of how clean the flavor is. Great dim ambiance for a date or dinner out. Definitely coming back soon.

So yum!!!! Top 3 thai spots for me…read more Food- Classic order of Pad Thai & Drunken Noodles. The pad thai noodles are a big thinner than i've had before but that didn't bother me, it has such great flavor too. I recommend ordering it spicy, it's the perfect heat if you're looking for that kick but don't add it if you can't handle spice. The drunken noodles are not spicy in my opinion but i can handle a bit of heat. Loved the flavor and the noodles had the right texture, could've done without the huge chunks of tomato but great otherwise. The summer rolls were good, hard to mess those up. We also got a free mango salad with the order and that was so fresh and delicious. We just popped in for pick up but the hostess was really nice and attentive as soon as we walked in. It looked to be a nice casual spot, could be good for dinner with friends or date night.

One of those terms is that there is a $25/pp fee for late cancelations or no shows. **Given the rules, I think it would be nice if THEP informs everyone when they book reservations that there is a great likelihood that you will be seated at a communal table.** Upon arrival we were seat when 3 out of the 4 arrived. Yes, we were seated at the communal table, which was off putting initially because we were looking for a more private experience and opportunity to catch up. However, we powered through and made the best of it. Service started off shaky and rushed initially, with incorrect drink orders presented. However once we all settled in things improved. The food was good and the atmosphere was lovely. A few entrée dishes were unavailable and required a little flexibility in the night's taste palate. Overall Thep was enjoyable and I would like to return now that I know what to expect. Just A Note: If a communal table is not ideal I would suggest reaching out directly to the restaurant to see if something can be arranged.

The service was pleasant, friendly, efficient and helpful from the minute we walked in without a reservation. The ambiance and decor was gorgeous and took me out of NYC for a moment. The phenomenal taste of the first sip of the Thai Iced Tea that paired so well with the rest of my meal is the reason behind the first picture I took. For the apps we ordered my favorite- Chicken Curry Puffs and Chicken Satay. The Chicken Curry Puffs were soft and perfectly mashy on the inside and had a perfect crisp to the layered outside. The Chicken Satay was so different here and yet so savory served with this soft garlic bread. The sauces were so fresh, vibrant and distinct and added to both the appetizers. The peanut sauce had crushed peanuts and was such an accompaniment to texture. For the mains, we had the Chicken Pad Thai and the Braised Beef Short Rib in Penang Curry. The Pad Thai was a great standard and tasty with the crisp sprouts and zesty lime. This Braised Beef Short Rib is where it is at! One of their house specialties- the decadent flavors and textures of this dish is something that will be memorable and just the right touch of spice. Lovely bright orange sweet potatoes and beautiful green beans went so well together with the beef and curry. Looking forward to trying more of their menu and not defaulting to my usual. Warmed up Chicken Pad Thai on the pan over the stove today in a little bit of butter, this was as delicious as it was going to get today. I missed one of the most exquisite Thai Iced Teas I've had in a while, it truly set the tone of how great this late lunch was.
