Anyone else a Mikey Chen fan? Now that Mikey Chen moved to the Seattle area, specifically, Redmond, he treks to many eastside spots, which I'm always excited to learn about since it's my 'hood. In one of his most recent vlogs, he visited Teriyaki Plus in Kirkland, and raved about the teriyaki, gyoza and garlic sauce. I had to check it out for myself. I visited Teriyaki Plus for lunch on a weekday, where they have lunch specials for only $11, which includes a protein base, gyoza and cucumber salad with steamed rice. I love spicy teriyaki, so ordered the spicy chicken teriyaki lunch special, which didn't take long to get. At this time, they are not offering dine-in during COVID-19. The food was solid. I liked that the gyoza was still crispy even after taking it home, as sometimes with gyoza takeout, it starts to get soggy from the steam. But I was pleased the texture remained intact. The spicy teriyaki chicken was also good, but wished that they hadn't put so much teriyaki sauce on it because the flavor of the chicken and spice was good enough. I didn't even need the additional teriyaki sauce that they give you on the side, though that's nice of them to do. The sauce you really want to try is their garlic sauce, which I learned about on Chen's vlog. It's legit. I even used it with the gyoza instead of the traditional ponzu sauce. They gave me a small side of this, but you can purchase an actual side of the garlic sauce for a bigger amount. I'm always on the hunt for some solid teriyaki, and this one is a great option in Kirkland. Located in a busy business area with other eateries around, parking can get a little cray during the lunch hour, but it's nearby once you get off the 405 exit. Solid teriyaki. read more

Hole in the wall. Food is pretty good. We ordered beef teriyaki and broccoli chicken teriyaki. It was ready in 10 or 15 minutes. Even though we were eating in, the meals came in styrofoam to-go containers. I wish they'd been reusable or cardboard instead. The place is small and crowded with junk. My hubbie's beef teriyaki appeared huge but on further inspection, there was a big pile of rice under the meat in addition to the 2 mounds he could see. Good flavor and texture on the meat just way too much white rice, like 4 cups. My broccoli chicken teriyaki was pretty good with lots of under cooked broccoli (raw in places) some carrots and tons of strips of chicken smothered in a light, slightly gritty (cornstarchy) sauce. read more

Delicious. Great portion sizes and really liked how the vegetables were not overcooked in the yakisoba. We came here for takeout during a busy time and food was ready very timely. While waiting we hung out at a table and the place was clean and each table had it's own hand sanitizer. I would highly recommend this place and we really look forward to coming back! read more

Stopped here to get a spicy chicken teriyaki and boy was it awesome. The chicken was very juicy and tender, nicely charred and smoky with delicious teriyaki sauce. The garlic sauce is INCREDIBLE and I really feel it took everything to the next level. The cucumber salad is so refreshing and pairs perfectly with the chicken and rice. The portion size is massive for the price and I honestly couldn't fault the dish. I personally like my food hotter but that was easily fixed by adding some sambal. Another teriyaki run on this teriyaki binge month! This one had rave reviews. Promising ones. I came twice, first time they were closed before 3 pm for lunch. Bummer! Second time around, I came on a Saturday and there was no closing in between. I always want to try their basic dish so I went with teriyaki chicken and gyoza combo. It came with cucumber salad and garlic sauce. Garlic sauce was nice but I came on the hottest day. It didn't travel well. The chicken itself was very dry. Too dry to eat. I was never big on gyoza/ potstickers/ wontons but this one! I actually finished my gyoza before I ate the rice or even the chicken. Chicken I had a few bites. Cucumber salad was nice too. Chicken fell flat! Whomp. Maybe I'll try a different dish next time. It's in the small strip plaza with a few others restaurants. Parking was easy-ish. Gyozas were delish! read more

This is the best teriyaki I've ever had! I came here on Mike Chen's (Strictly Dumpling on YouTube) recommendation, and wow he did not disappoint. First of all, the portion size is huge! For $11.50, I got two meals worth of food - they are very generous with their meat. The chicken itself was super tender, and the teriyaki sauce was spicy and delicious. I don't know what wizardry goes into making this sauce - it's absolutely amazing. The chicken also comes with cucumber salad and a yummy garlic sauce. I loved dipping both the chicken and the cucumbers into the sauce. Next time I come back to Seattle, this'll be my first stop! read more

Every time I am in Seattle, I need to get my teriyaki fix. This place was close to my brothers house so we decided to give it a try. I think the chicken teriyaki was definitely better than the beef. Katsu was not the best, super dark in color meaning the oil was old. I like the cucumber salad that comes with the plates. The portion is really generous for the price. After having discovered this teriyaki joint about 1.5 years ago, we won't go anywhere else for teriyaki. Simply amazing! The chicken is good quality, always cooked through, and so flavorful...always hard to choose between regular and spicy as their spicy chicken has a unique and savory taste. The only thing they could do to make me love it more is to offer a half spicy, half regular plate. Very generous portions...usually close to 3 meals for me. They provide quick pickled, slightly sweet cuke slices which are delish, instead of salad. Noodle dishes are also good. But the star(s) are the chicken. Gyzoa are also good. And that garlic sauce. I could bathe in it, it is so amazing. If they ever close their doors, I want that recipe or I'm not 100% sure life is totally worth living any more. Go. You won't regret it. read more

I got takeout from here today. Everything was nice and clean inside and the staff was friendly. There were multiple signs explaining that their staff was fully vaccinated and thus unmasked, and patrons who were fully vaccinated were welcome to not wear masks as well. I really appreciated the thoughtful messaging. I enjoyed the teriyaki chicken and chicken katsu. The chicken katsu was crispy and delicious. The rice was perfect. The egg roll I had was a bit mushy and soft in the inside, so that was really my only complaint. I'd try it all again though next time I'm in the area. read more

What can I say.... My husband (currently using my husbands Yelp account lol) drives from North Seattle all the way here to this unassuming little spot in Kirkland whenever he wants teriyaki. He will not go anywhere else and I see why he's a fan.... I agree with everything S C below says about this awesome little gem. Portions are VERY generous! My husbands go-to is the pork and chicken combo with white rice. It is legitimately enough to feed 2-3 people. We have even turned on family to this place that normally don't care for teriyaki in general. The meat is perfectly charred and sauce is just right. They include extra teriyaki sauce and hot sauce with your to-go order at no extra cost. Service is fast and friendly. Parking is easy and convenient. Located in a strip mall next to a hair/nail salon. *Side note: this location Teriyaki Plus in Kirkland is not to be confused or is affiliated with Teriyaki Plus in Shoreline or Teriyaki Plus in Northgate as far as I am aware. Usually we order take out to have delivered. Today there was a problem with our order and had to drive in and pick it up. I was horrified to see the cooks where not wearing masks and when I called out the lady at the register I believe she's the owner she said we are all healthy. When I explained that's the point you can think you're healthy and not know infected this the reason for the masks. She continued to argue with me. Until Covid19 is over I would caution you on ordering food from here. One star for not caring about your customers enough to wear a mask. read more

I just ordered their teriyaki chicken lunch special. The check in was great, no complaints. I loved the pickled cucumbers that came as a side, and the garlicky sauce that came with it. I also thought the pot stickers that came with had a really nice flavor. They stood out from other potstickers as tasting really bright and fresh. My wife and I have been looking for a go to teriyaki spot on Sundays. Most places are not open, so it's nice that these guys are. Fried rice is decent but dry, chicken is dry and when you ask for Cashew Chicken or something if that sort they just make Teriyaki Chicken and put cashews in it, or Brocolli. Used to go here 2 years ago and has just went downhill since, prices have gone up and quality has gone down. I used to not mind the extra price but now the food doesn't even compare to less expensive places. When you mention your concern to management they roll eyes and you can tell they just want you to hurry out the door. read more

Legit teriyaki. I like the plain chicken teriyaki, my husband typically gets the beef with garlic sauce. The garlic sauce is delicious. We always sub steamed broccoli for the cucumber salad, so just to know that is an option and one that we both prefer. They also have brown and fried rice available for an up charge. Quick service, large portions (one order = two meals) and the food always tastes fresh. I did knock a star because they are kinda pricey (last bill was $32 for two teriyaki dinners + egg rolls) but the portions are big. read more
