These guys are terrible. They took my credit card information and said a technition would be out between 8am and noon the next day and they were a no show. I called at 11:40am when I hadn't heard from anyone and the operator said she could not get ahold of the technition but left a message for him. I waited until noon, no one showed, no one called. I called Terminix back and told them to cancel and remove my credit card information. The first operator answering my cancellation call put me on hold then took my information then put me on hold again and a different operator eventually came on line and wanted me to hold whiel she entered more information. I said I am just cancelling and the operator got huffy and said she was a different department and I had to hold. I hung up. TERRIBLE COMPANY. DON'T USE! read more

I have now called 5 TIMES to try to schedule service from the Petaluma location for our area and no one has EVER called back. The problem is we paid for an annual exclusion service and they clearly do not want to honor the commitment under this contract. They seem to be waiting for it to expire. I located small grains of sawdust type material near one of my baseboards and thought it may be termite related. A technician from terminix quickly inspected it and came to the conclusion that I had termites. The technician did not inspect any other portion of my residence and provided me a quote of $4800 to rid my residence of termites through their heat treatment method. I obtained a second opinion from a highly rated termite control company and they provided me with a lengthy explanation as to why the droppings are not from termites and I only have an ant problem in which the ants are pushing up soil from underneath the house which caused the appearance of the sawdust type material. This company also inspected the entire property along with the attic and found no evidence of termites. I had the ant problem taken care of and had no additional incidents involving sawdust textured material. Never seeking assistance from Terminix again. read more

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! We have been dealing with a strange smell coming out of our pipes and work with various plumbers. As a precaution to cover all the bases we wondered if something died in the piping that was causing the smell. We called Terminix to come out. Lawrence J was the rep that came out. He walked the house and went to the attic to check everything out. When he came down he said that we had a rat infestation and they needed to clear it out, do attic insulation and then we probably need to have a plumber come and flush the pipes out because there was probably a dead rat in the pipe. He promptly followed up with a quote the tune of $7000 Emotionally and financially strained from the pandemic caused a world of stress on me. We decided to price compare and called out two separate professionals to come and take a look. Both of them found NO INDICATION OF ANY RODENTS LET ALONE AN INFESTATION. It's completely shameful of Terminix to create fraudulent claims and try to scam responsible homeowners out of their money. I don't know if they thought they could prey on young women, If they thought we were stupid, if this is standard practice or to try to line your pockets from losing money during this pandemic. Terrible and irresponsible company. I have active termites in my home garage, booked terminix to come do an estimate. They cancelled twice, both times at the scheduled time frame. Today, they told me 3 pm - 5 pm to come. Right at 3 PM, a man called to say "I'm overbooked today so I will come out Saturday." Really? Terminix cost me a week to address my issue and no response to my last call and text on why they cancelled today. Why does Terminix do this instead of just saying immediately to me that they are too busy for new customers, use another service at this time. Seems all the other negative reviews and comments are 100% true. Don't trust Terminix to assist you and go directly to another firm. I wanted to update the review to add that a few team members from the Pleasanton Terminix spoke to me in an unprofessional manner, saying things such as "you are not qualified to evaluate our work", "you don't have the knowledge of your house to determine where rodents could enter". Dealing with bullying and sexism, along with exchanges of looks between technicians and laughing at the requests we made, was not on my list of desired customer service qualities. I'm not really satisfied with the service that I have been getting from Terminix right now. The first few technicians we had was good and they listened to what we wanted done. The last person that came by clearly did not pay attention to our needs. So now, we're still having the pest problem and my daughter are constantly getting bites all over her body. Also, they offered a complimentary service for an inspection and the tech that was supposed to come over was a no show. I called today to have someone do another pest treatment, and the guy over the phone didn't even try to help out, basically saying he can't do anything and that I have to wait for a week for the next available appointment. Wanted to give a 2020 review! I have been using Terminex at our business in Livermore for about 3-4 years now. Daniel Morris has been our Tech. for years and it is still such a pleasure to have him. Our office is behind a field by the airport so we get so many bugs but he does a fantastic job at keeping them at bay. Today he even removed several wasps nests that I did not even know about. I hired their services and after they showed up they said the type of service I needed done, couldn't be performed by them since it was outside in the garden. The technician left after 10 mins and said I shouldn't be charged. As I was checking my charges I saw the charge of $200 in my credit card, they never reversed it and now that I requested it to be reversed it needs to go for approval. Wow - did not think I would have to downgrade my rating. Wendy at the office called me exactly a week after my service and asked how I liked the service. I was polite to her when I explained my issue. She was very considerate and did try to contact Jason while I on hold. He didn't answer so she said she left a message with him. She was going to email both him and the managers and someone would contact me. I received a voice message on 1/26 from Oswald Lopez, the branch manager. He said he spoke with Jason about the service concerns and said that now he is involved he would like to address my concerns. Okay, Nice response! Some hope here. So I called and texted him with a time frame to connect. FIVE days later I texted him again, after no response. He responded immediately and asked if 10:30 am the next day, Feb 2nd, would work. I said yes; he said he would call me then. Again, another FIVE days and NO RESPONSE. It just amazes me that customer service does not exist, especially from a branch manager. Sets the standard for his employees, eh? So now it is 3 weeks since I originally started reaching out. I guess I will have to drive 45 minutes to their office. Paid for multiple year protection plan and now I can't get anyone to come out and fix the ongoing issue I have with rodents entering the garage. An inspector came out and saw the entry points and said an exclusion team would contact me in 1-2 days, that was a week ago. And that was after trying to sell me a termite protection plan. His visit was after my original call about the issue 3-4 weeks earlier. After the visit he filed a bogus report saying everything was inspected including the attic which was a lie. He never looked at the attic. I called them again and got the "someone will call in 1-2 days" standard response. So I'm stuck! I only signed up with the Pleasanton office after years of very satisfying service in Sunnyvale. Total scam! read more

I've been with Terminix for almost 3.5-4 years. So far been happy. No issues noted. Our Tech is Dan Morris and he has been great. Courteous and professional while at the house. He always calls a few days prior to remind me he's coming for service. Today, I got word that I had to go into work a bit early. I have dogs that I secure so the pest control guys can do their thing. Since I had to go to work early, I didn't want to leave the dogs in their kennel for an extended period amount of time during the day. I called Dan and he was able to shift his schedule around for me so I didn't have to wait, I could make it in to work, and let the pups roam in the back yard. October 2021 Update: I renewed my drywood treatment plan for $299. All the guy did was walk around the outside my house to inspect it and said someone else should come to retreat the inside of my attic. Then my account was updated to say the next service isn't due for another year. When I called the customer service representative, she said the $299 renewal just covers an inspection and that they'll be out again next year. $299 for an inspection seems like a rip-off and I will not be renewing my plan again. read more

A year and a half ago I contacted Terminix for termite treatment. They came out and serviced the area, or so I thought. Fast forward to today and we have termites again but in 5 locations. I did not want to contact Terminix again as they were very expensive and clearly did not last. Instead I went with another company. Not only is the other company $450 less, their product has a warranty of 3 years instead of 1, and should last at least 5. read more

I would give negative stars if I could. I don't know how they stay in business... oh no, I do! They have never provided the full service we paid for (termite traps, half of them placed, promised to come back and place the rest but never did). Then despite calling to schedule the rest of them and never getting anywhere/any response from Douglas Metcalf (May 2021) they charged me for retreatment that I never received and have continued to do so monthly since then (latest was September). I called 10+ times to both the agent who helped me (always went direct to voicemail and never returned my calls) or corporate would say they'd pass along my info to the local office to schedule the trap recollection. Guess who never called me back? So I did a charge back! And then guess who called saying they wanted the traps back? The local office! I was fine with it but hadn't gotten our money back yet, so I said once you refund us/the charge back goes through you can take the traps. They never did and despite continuing to charge us for monthly retreatment we don't receive and me continuing to say no, stop charging us and schedule to take back the traps, they've never scheduled the take back. And now they've sent us to collections for the original payment!!! I'm beside myself, I've spoken to corporate so many times who says they can't do anything and the local office never calls me back, despite there being "a lot of managers there" per corporate, whatever that means. TLDR: I'd have been happy to use their service if they actually provided what I paid for. Don't waste your money/time because you'll get stuck in a cycle of not getting service and yet being charged for more lack of service every month. read more

I had previously written a great review as we really love our Terminix service person who comes out every quarter. He's kind, thorough, and does an effective job. Unfortunately we had a rat problem a couple of months ago and paid Terminix a decent amount of money to seal up our house and were guaranteed they'd come out if ever we had an issue. We now have what may be an issue at the top of our house and I've placed several calls to the main office as well as the district manager and no one will return our calls. I guess their customer guarantee is only good until your check clears? Very disappointed as we've been Terminix customers for years. We have had terrible issues with rodents at our home. They had completely taken over the garage, attic and were starting to get into our home every night. I called Terminix to see what could be done to get the problem solved. I had a GREAT experience so I'm reviewing two teams/people I've recently worked with from Terminix. 1. Larry Jackson came out to do the initial assessment of the issue and recommend options for service. He was timely, was AMAZING with my 4 year old son who was home with me, and explained everything step by step, including different options depending on how much I wanted to spend. He gave me his direct number to call when I was ready. Once I knew what I wanted he came out for me to sign docs that day and got the guys out to perform the service same day - AWESOME. 2. Tom Keech and his team came out to do the service. We went with exclusion. Him and his team covered all entry points, cleaned any areas with a solution to kill germs and diminish scent, and placed traps. Tom explained everything he was doing every step of the way. He was EXTREMELY knowledgeable about how to get rid of rats/mice and went the extra mile to make sure my house was safe. I was extremely happy with the service I received. Terminix is CROOK. Do Not Do Business with these Crooks I hired Terminix for Termite control and monitoring. They made me sign a 12-months contract for $1800 to fully protect my property from Termite infection Terminix installed about 12 bate stations around my property and disappeared said they would check the bate stations once a year unless if I wanted them to come back earlier and for that I would have to call the office and schedule an inspection. Another words, they put the monitoring responsibility on me!!! Earlier this year I noticed significant Termite infection destroying my side gate that was attached to my garage wall on one side. There were 2 bate stations approximately 4 feet from either side of the gate. Apparently, this method of protection was not quite effective since the bate stations did not preclude the Termite to attack the gate and the fence. So, if it could not protect the gate, it would definitely would not protect the structure of my property When I reported the situation to Terminix, I was told that according to the contract, the fence was not covered. When I checked back the contract, I found a fine print in the middle of 3 full pages of disclosures that stated, "Fences are not covered". Terminex is horrible, horrible. I have been a customer for a number of years and unfortunately, as of today I'm cancelling all services I have with them- that is, Termite, Rodent Exclusion and Pest. The Exclusion service is the worst - they just do not do it - I went under my house to see multiple rodent access areas under the house and much rodent waste and damage to the insulation. This is all on them. They have not been doing the work. Don't trust them! Some of the techs are good and hardworking, however I do think there is a BIG management problem and scheduling and phone service is the worst. My recommendation is to find a local company to deal with good references. read more
