Overall I would NOT recommend Terminis to anyone. The only time I would was when Daniel, now retired was our technician. Yet, another dedicated technician, Alex, identified what we thought was a larvae/carpet beetle problem as a mealworm infestation (sadly, it had never been correctly identified before). There is a delay in responding to calls and messages from EXCLUSION SERVICE TECHNICIANS. The fact that Terminix prides itself on its excellent customer service is contradictory to me. My rating for Terminix is a 6/10 unless you have Alex then I would rate her a 10/10 for her superior knowledge and dedication to resolving problems! read more

Terminix does not deserve a star at all!! Fabian (service consultant) came to assess my attic on 9/23/24 and said they would remove old insulation, clean, and put new insulation. He said roof rats would not come back. All these were done on 9/24/24 for the price of $3,600. Two nights later, I still heard noises in the ceiling. I called Fabian many times, but he never answered his phone and I could not leave a message either. I called Terminix and scheduled an inspector to come on 10/3/24. The inspector never showed up. I called customer service and the operator could not even get a hold of the inspector. I had to reschedule for another inspector to come on 10/8/24. Instead of an inspector, Fabian showed up again. He is only a consultant. He walked around my house in 2 minutes and said there was no point of entry and said if I heard noises again, I should go out to see what was on my roof. It might be birds instead of roof rats. Seriously?!?! at 3 am to see if it was a bird?!?! He also wanted to sell me monthly pest control services, then they could "better understand the real problem." HELL NO!! I later found out from a friend that the proper way to get rid of roof rats is first have the attic insulation clean out, set traps, and seal all entry points. If there is no activity for 3-6 weeks, new insulation will be installed. Terminix/Fabian never explained this to me. This is not an HONEST company and has POOR services! read more

After over two months and over $3500, Terminix has not resolved the rat infestation in my home. Failure to show up, failure to return calls, failure to come back when promised, sending teams that speak no English ... you name it, they have completely fumbled the ball on this one. Another tech came and saw what the first tech did and explained that that isn't how it's supposed to be done. This company is a scam. terminix has terrible customer service. I called for inspection and scheduled an appointment. I was given a time range and the man never showed up. I called terminex, they said they would get back to me and never did. this happened on various occasions. Today I returned hom from vacation and found large rat feces throughout my laundry room. I have a maintenance contract I pay for monthly to avoid these situations. I again called terminix for service -- they kept me on hold for 30 minutes I then got disconnected -- they never called back. I then spent 2 hours trying to cancel my service contract to no avail. I am going to have to call my bank to cancel the ACH payment since I am unable to get someone on the phone to cancel. terrible service. -- do not recommend. read more

Ana Navarro was my first contact. She's listened, gave the interior a look see, and gave me options to choose from to get rid of the rodents. Price points she gave me were FIXED NUMBERS! DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! I have rat noises in the house. In May they did a cursory inspection and gave me a price of $2200 to close up the holes. Then there is another charge monthly. Expensive but it might be worth it. (I called other companies and they all charged the same amount.) They had people come in and claim to plug holes and then they laid traps. In June the rat is still active. After many calls, another couple of guys showed up at my door--no call, no appt---until later in the day I got a text they were coming in the morning! More hole plugging, more traps. July. Still have the rodents. I am calling the original manager plus two levels above him. NO RESPONSE FROM THE UPPER MANAGERS. AT ALL. It takes about 10 calls to get a response from the supervisor. In Alameda. Don't know why Yelp says SOMA. SF one star. they did show up twice. read more

once in contract they started showing up at my house unannounced just in my yard. As a woman sometimes home alone to see a man in your back yard without notice can be startling, especially . they terminated the contract because after warning the guy 3 times and calling customer service 4 times asking for advance notice I told the service guy he won't be satisfied until I show up in the yard with My weapon because I'm startled and they refuse to give advance notice.... the matter was never resolved. now with a great company who calls and e-mails before showing up. read more

We moved to Bay Area and found Terminix via Google and when I was in their website, I saw the option to opt in for a free inspection. My inspection was scheduled for the week after and no one showed up. I called the local Pleasanton office and they told me that they don't see it on the schedule. Then they rescheduled to week after, this happened 4 times and finally after 3 weeks, finally this KRISTOPHER BATEMAN showed up in my house. KRISTOPHER BATEMAN claims to be a very senior sales person and as well as a hands on guy. From the time he landed, he did not leave a single opportunity to do the sales pitch. He went around the house, my attic, crawl space and came down to go over proposals. He started with $11,000 one time cost, then brought it down to $7;000, and when I did not buy it, he brought it down to $4,000 and finally when I just called him an hour back to tell him that I'm going with another company, he told me that he could do it for $2,000. WOW! When he entered my house, he said he is servicing many apartments in the community, but towards the end when I told him, I need more time to decide, he said, "I don't come very often to this city", so it would be good if we decide this face to face. LIAR!!! And later in the evening, when I conveyed my decision that I'm going with another co, he was very persuasive and he was forcing me to go with Terminix and also he said, Terminix will buy all these small companies, so ultimately you will land up with us, so why waste your time and go to someone else. And he was emotionally torturing me, "if you don't go with Terminix, you are making the biggest mistake in your life"... Wow - never seen such a rude and stupid salesman in my entire life. He thinks he is smart, but he is not even close. If people or the senior management at Terminix are reading this - they should have a serious conversation with KRISTOPHER BATEMAN. read more

We called up Terminix for a termite inspection of a house we wanted to buy, and we got an appointment for an evening time slot the next day. However, we got a text from a technician at Terminix with time slots for two days later and morning slots - this person didn't know about our existing appointment. This person also wanted to see the inspection report provided by the seller. The whole point of getting Terminix was to conduct an independent inspection. When we responded and shared that we already had an appointment that day plus we didn't want to share sellers inspection report , we got no response. We followed up a couple of times before we drove down to the house and heard nothing but crickets. They never showed up, and we lost valuable time. You would have to look a long time to find a worse pest control company than Terminix. Bottom line: they have taken almost $2,000 from me and have not performed the service I contracted for. For weeks I have been trying to get them to complete the rat remediation in my home. They were unable to do the rat remediation the first time they came to my home, because they lacked the proper equipment. Despite the fact that they had not done it, they immediately charged my credit card and now have effectively disappeared, leaving me with only the option to call their Corporate headquarters (since the local Pleasanton branch of Terminix can no longer be reached directly.) I have been shuttled from one "customer care" operator to another. I have been told the local branch will contact me to set up an appointment, and no one has contacted me. I have been told that, yes, I do indeed have an appointment and have been given a date and a two hour window for it, and no one has shown up. Today I had a 26 minute phone call with a "customer care" representative who said she would "email my complaint" to the Pleasanton branch of Terminix. The Pleasanton branch is supposed to contact me by tomorrow. I am not optimistic that this will happen. Terminix has become dysfunctional, unreliable, unresponsive, and untrustworthy. Save yourself a lot of time, trouble, frustration, and possible legal fees and go elsewhere if you need pest control. read more

So these guys told me that I had termites all throughout the house... and I did not, they were only in one part of the house.. a small part. as a result I paid them 4500.00 to super heat the entire house. and guess what... it did not work. when they came back out the 2nd guy told me that I only had termites in a small part of house that they should have not treated the entire house... i showed him where the sales guy told me where he said there were termites... he said nope... these areas were did not have termites... same company. the termites returned in a couple days....he treated the area where the termites were with chemicals and he said this is what they should have done the first time. Terminix has been the worst decision I've ever made since buying my house. They're beyond unreliable, they no call, no showed 4 TIMES and only came after I reached out to a manager to say I was going to drop my service. Just found ants, less than a month after they sprayed, and called to ask that they come out. Was bounced between multiple reps, one of whom was sales and didn't know why I was passed there, only to settle in with a rep who tried to convince me to let a technician go into my house without me present to get quicker service. All I want is someone to come after 4pm. I'm not leaving my door unlocked to let a tech in alone. There is also a guy, Nathaniel, who tried to convince me to cancel my service since there is no point to me having it, because I requested that they not touch certain parts of my property that are wild and I hope to let a few species flourish there. I am going to wait out my 3 month payment and then move on, these people suck. read more

We are very dissatisfied with the current service we are getting from Terminix. We pay them yearly to make sure termites are not back. The yearly fees goes up every year which is fine but not really sure anymore what we are paying for. The reason I say this is because we have not had termite inspection for two years now due to technicians not showing up for our scheduled appointments or customer service not scheduling appointments as agreed upon, whether it be by mistake or some other reason or another. To top it off, we work and we have to take vacations on the days the technician is suppose to come to inspect our house. It is very inconvenient for them not to show up on those 4 hours of time frame given to us. We lose valuable time and money. At the same time, since our crawlspace is in the closet, we have to clean out half the closet for them to get entrance into the crawlspace. So, we prepare for that as well before they come. It is a hassle for them not to show up and not keep us updated on the appointments. At least they can do is call saying they will not be able to show up on the schedules time and set-up another appointment for us that is more convenient. Don't you think that's fair and the least they can do? We use to be happy with their service but for the last three years they have not done a good job at all and they just expect us to pay their yearly fees for nothing. Really really bad service. The last time a technician came which was 3 years ago, he seems he does not care and he just kept saying everything looks good and walk around the premises for 10 minutes. When we ask if he needs to look under the crawlspace, he said no need. Just a very dissatisfied with them and they are suppose to be a reputable company. SMH!!! read more

I had scheduled an inspection with Terminix for a unit that was still vacant (haven't moved in yet). They gave me a 2 hour window, so I called to confirm before traveling to the vacant unit and having to sit around and wait. They confirmed, no one showed up. They insisted this was an exception and scheduled another inspection time. This time I called multiple times, got the name of the inspector scheduled to come, and his scheduled time. Again, waited for 2 hours and no one showed. Spent over an hour between 5 support representatives and no one could help me. They said they'd call me back twice. Both times I had to call them. Then they said their manager would call me to ensure it's scheduled. Still eagerly awaiting that call 3 days later... 5 hours of my time wasted, still no inspection. Saw termite droppings next to inside door frame. Sprayed hole I found. No more droppings. Called Terminx prior. Guy came out for maybe 90 seconds for a free inspection. Asked if I had a ladder, no. Got one from his truck. Got to top rung in attic shined flashflight for a minute, said there is a lot of insulation, hard to tell what is up there. Looked at outside awning, banged around eaves. Asked if I had vinyl floors. Asked how long I lived there (multiple times). Ok lets sit down. $5000 to heat/nuke your condo. Oh, wait will melt floor. Lots of warranty talk. Ok, $800 to nuke one frame with spray, "but no guarantees." Next question, when are we scheduling? But you have 3k to 5k of them in there. It was a quick sales pitch. By far the worst customer service experience I've experienced. So disappointing. Let me explain. Don Urban, our termite account rep, seemed promising. After signing up for services, and spending 12 hours packing up our food, drugs, and anything perishable (pre-planned a vacation to vacate the house), we left. He didn't check in the week leading up to packing up the house - many moving parts to prepare for before fumigation. His subcontracted crew (didn't even know who they were as they didn't represent themselves as Terminix) calls me the morning of. They told me they don't have a neighbor waiver form on file - Don was supposed to have this signed. Called him, he couldn't fix it, so they left. He calls me back and says the soonest they can get back out there is in two weeks!! I was appalled. Their bad, yet ZERO responsibility. He didn't call to say sorry or to fix it. Took no accountability. I went with another local company who blew them away, no comparison. To make matters worse, I signed up for insect protection. They did finish the job, then I canceled the program (and moved out of my home). They charged me three months later and I was notified about a bill. Pretty simple, I moved out, discontinued, and didn't receive the services, right? I asked for them to clear the balance... Called twice, both times they said they'd take care of the outstanding balance. Now, I receive a notice from collections!! WTF!! What a terrible company and experience. Trust the poor reviews. I couldn't have had a worse experience with Terminix of Pleasanton. We scheduled a follow up treatment given the original treatment did not get rid of our issue. The contract explicitly states that we have a 6 month warranty for resprays at no cost, and I called about a month after the original treatment which would meet this timeline. I was told they scheduled an appointment, and after the technician did not show up, customer service claimed it was never scheduled and there is nothing they can do for us, showing very little concern. While the review was positive up to this point, it truly feels like they have no interest in providing the required follow up appointment despite the parameters of the contract we signed and already paid for. Once you have paid them, they will show no interest in coming back without additional cost. Please avoid this company and look elsewhere as the business practice seems unsincere once they have your money. read more

I have been with your company for 8 years and the service is getting worse. If I call for extra service like to get a dead rodent out of the trap or off the property, my appt is always at least a week out and then NOBODY SHOWS UP!!! The appt will be canceled or rescheduled without notifying me. I get inspections done per contract yet termites were inside my house coming through the walls. Why wasn't this caught before it got bad. Management doesn't care or respond. If I didn't have this darn termite contract which is a waste of money I would change to another provider. Giving a rare review here on yelp for Terminix particularly for Daryl who is based in Pleasanton. Daryl has been coming over providing service for us since last year. He has always been responsive. He always responds to my texts and eversince I always preferred texting him rather than calling the 1-800 phone number. He communicates well and is very accurate when he says he is arriving on this day and at this certain hour. After each appointment he also sends out a detailed description of what exactly he just did. I have never had any issues with him and I really hope he continues to be our service guy. If you happen to call Terminix Pleasanton I highly recommend that you request for Daryl. (not sure if thats possible). I live in Brentwood..they probably have their own area assignments... so i purchased a package with this company for bed bugs for a little over $1900 in around Feb 2022. They promised me that they would continue to treat the problem until it was resolved. If you know anything about bedbugs you know that they don't just die with one or two treatments. They literally have to weaken over time. It could be 6 months, a year or more. My problem still exists so i tried to have them come back out only to find out that the fine print stated the contract was only good for 6 months but this issue has gone on much longer. I feel completely bamboozled by this company. I've always thought that they were a quality company because you hear they're name a lot when it comes to pest control but the one thing I didn't count on was the lack of integrity. He's kind, courteous and professional (on time and will call the day before your service to coordinate/make sure you're home/check on your specific needs). He is also very knowledgeable about all kinds of pests, rodents, wildlife, you name it... I like that he is very friendly to my children and because he's also a grandfather, he makes sure to take special precautions that they stay indoors when he sprays, don't come out until everything is dry, and really watches out for our family! Terminix has tried to switch me to another technician but I won't use anyone but Daniel. (I have a few neighbors who also feel the same way). He really is the reason why we are still with Terminix. I signed up with Terminix in Livermore, CA, 9/25/2020, and so far, they have been incredibly unreliable. I would recommend avoiding them and instead use a local, licensed termite inspector. Look for someone not only with good reviews but will casually respond to calls and help you if needed. I've paid over $1600 in advance to Terminix to protect my home from termites. After the initial sign up, the local office doesn't return my calls, respond to my emails, and missed scheduled appointments over the past two months. When I report the problem, I'm elevated to the corporate office who promises the local branch manager would call me in 24 hours in each case. They have never called. They also missed their last 11/24 appointment scheduled between 8-10 am. My cost was $999 for a drywood defend plan paid in advance, with an additional renewal of $299 paid in advance. Also, I pay $109 a month for subterranean bait treatment with a one-year commitment. I have heard concerns baiting is unreliable, but I'm new to the area, and I figured I'd try. Paying in advance gave me a discount but locked me into a contract. Since then, Terminix has not performed its contractual obligations. Lamar Jackson was a great guy, did the initial inspection, and scheduled the treatment. Antonie Lee was also great- he came out on 9/30/2020 and baited the yard and sprayed treatment in the attic. Unfortunately, after he left, I noticed his receipt had more baits than were physically in the yard. I contacted Terminix to see if there was a mistake. I have emailed and called on 9/30, 10/15, 10/17, and 10/28 to find out about the bait. Everyone promises they'll call me back in 24 hours, and no one has. Finally, on 11/14/2020, I found two dealate subterranean termites in my home. Terminix does not respond to calls on the weekend, but I emailed and texted. Since I was concerned and had not heard anything by Monday afternoon, I called on 11/18. The company apologized, said they're backed up 'for weeks,' but someone would call me in 24 hours. No one did, so I called back on 11/19/2020. They apologized, said a manager would call me back in 24 hours. They also scheduled Lamar Jackson to inspect my home on 11/24 between 8-10am. Lamar was a no show and no manager called. By now, I expected Terminix was unreliable, so I had already called for a local company to inspect on 11/25 and paid out of pocket (which was a great experience). I emailed Terminix again on 11/30 to see what happened. They forwarded me to the local branch via email who has not responded to the past calls, emails, website chats, or texts. I sent an email again to the corporate office, and they called today, 12/2/2020. Terminix apologized and AGAIN said a manager in the local office would call me. Basically, I paid for initial treatment, but no preemptive protection when I need it. And 25 days after finding termites in my home, Terminix was not there when I needed it. read more
