Horrible service. Uneducated "technicians". They came out once, for my Ant Problem, sprayed inside and out. Didnt see ants for only about 6 hours then they came back. Ants crawling all over me during the night and they bite when theres no food out. I called customer service to have them come back out to fix the problem. They came back out, before the guy put out ant bait, i told him that stuff dont work with my type of ants. He used it anyways and sprayed again outside. This time had no effect. Actually seemed to get worse. So i called to cancel after a week and customer service said it was cancelled and that they will inform blah blah blah about how i wanted a refund and someone was to contact me. No one ever contacted me and I was too busy to call back again until recently and upon talking to one of the management people he said he actually wouldn't honor their satisfaction guarantee. The service was great. The area specialist arrive on time and walked the house with me. We spoke about the pros and cons of each type of termite treatment and he was very thorough. The technicians arrived promptly and were very patient in explaining the process of the treatment and the benefits of it. He and his partner took the time to show me the Termite Bait and what the benefits of the Termite Bait Barrier Plan would entail. read more

I was told after a months time that they would return to collect some traps and reinspect but this has not occurred. Now that I have a dead rat smell and its been months they will not return my calls for this I do not understand. Oh and the insulation although pricey works well and we havent had an infestation but they all told me theyd return and now I cant even get a call back. Note Chat seems to be more effective and via chat was able to schedule an appointment. read more

Terrible!! They convinced my MIL to sign up a 2 years contract for $2k+ with a financial service, fist of all they never showed up for appointments, didn't even call to let her know. After calling and re-schedule over and over and after only 2 visits she decided to cancel their services. Guess what? Now she's stuck up with a $2k+ debt!! And she's 70 yo disabled women loosing her mind bc the account was sent to collection. We tried to make a deal with Terminix and agree to pay for 2 visits even if it was not worth it but they didn't give a shit. After all they already have a nice amount on their pockets FOR NOTHING!! Awful costumer service. For my initial inspection I had to call 3 times, and each time I got different information. Finally scheduled it. They gave me time window of 8 AM till 12 noon for initial inspection. I had to get a half day off from work. They never showed up. I had to call them 4 times, to find out what was going on. And nobody was responsive. The final answer was "the technician is most probably busy with other work, and will call you once done." and they never did call me. They didn't even bother to call me to tell me what was next or to reschedule ... AWFUL. read more

We have been with Terminix for several years (merged with another company I was using) and thought their service was excellent. However, for the last 2 weeks, I have tried to get them to come out and remove wasp nest. I have called a total of 4 times, held for 15 to 30 minutes each time. When I got through, agent was very apologetic (not her fault) -- but have yet to speak to any kind of supervisor. I have been promise an apt. 3 times -- no show, promised a manager would call 3 times, no calls. Agent scheduled me for 10 days out - I won't hold my breath for this service. I am looking for another service -- one that is not too busy for its long time customers. read more

Stay away from San Jose Terminix. I had sign up 1 year contract with Terminix and has been schedule for Saturday services with my 8 units apartment. All my tenants wait for the service technician to come. "Eric Johnson" the branch manager suppose to come to do the service but he did not show up or call to cancel. All my tenants waist their time since 8am to 5pm Saturday. I called to complains many times and request to speak to the manager or Regional manager to call me back, but no one call me. It's has been 4 days in a row I'd call and still no reponse from Terminix accept the customer service try to email my complain to someone. Anyway end of 4 days, no one called. read more

Do Not Use Terminix! They will tell you the bad reviews they get are just a small example of what people say about their service, which has to be an absolute lie. We hired them to address a roof rat problem and got talked into a 1 time perimeter spray. They needed my ladder to access the roof and didn't spray where there were small items against the building like a 4' square piece of chicken wire. When they did the exclusion work once again they needed my ladder. Traps were set under the house and in the attic where rat droppings were present. The rats still got in and even after several types of bait was used, they never caught a single rat. I bought 2 bait stations on my own and guess what? No more rats for 4 months. I thought that they returned 1 week prior to the end of the contract and placed 7 calls for service which were never returned. Don't get ripped off by these people. read more

My Terminix technician, Brandon, has been great, working around my crazy schedule this summer. I have a new locked gate so that has made it much more difficult for him to gain access when I am not home. He has done extra treatments for spiders and ticks. I have a huge yard, so extra means 2/3 of an acre. Awesome job! read more

I made two appointments for them to come out to my house they never showed up not even a car so after the second time of them not showing up I called and went off on them I told him how unhappy I was so they scheduled me another appointment and said it would be early in the morning however when I called to find out where the technician was they said my appointment wasn't until three to five p.m. which is ridiculous I would've never agreed to that I have small children I'm not going to keep my kids out of the house and out onto the streets until nine o'clock at night please never use these people read more

We had our termite situation inspected by Patrick who was courteous and clearly knowledgeable about the subject. He spent time providing us with different options on dealing with these pests which was quite useful as it will help us to look for other places that might have the problem in future. I really wish I read these reviews BEFORE I hired them to fumigate my house. Paid them to fumigate 3 structures because they are all connected but they only did 1. They charged and took our money for all 3 structures. Keep calling them no response. Patrick Sweeney, Rick, Steven Hurley all avoiding our calls and not making any efforts to rectify their mistake! This place is very unprofessional and all they care about is taking your money. Save yourself a huge hassle and use Proven instead. read more

After 15 years I am calling it quits with terminix. As long as you don't need them they are fine. The minute you do... forget it. I was able to get three other companies to offer immediate response. With terminix I get a lot of can I validate who you are? When did you call? That is not what is on the order? Let me send you manager.. get voicemail. Call, center manager daniel doesn't take calls. Enough. I will also be contacting the better business bureau. The only calls I got back were three customer service survey calls... you can imagine the rating they got. read more

Terminix came out today to do a home inspection. Patrick Sweeney was prompt, professional, funny and quite knowledgeable. I really liked the guy. I totally recommend him. He is not only well versed regarding termites, but is the go to guy should you have any rodent issues. read more

If you live in San Jose and need pest control, look for another provider. My initial visit they were 1 hour late over the window. That was the first indication of lack of customer service. I had a ant invasion, a month later. Called the number, they said someone would spray 2 days later. No one showed up during the window. Called again, they said it was supposed to be the day before, of course no one came then. They apologized, and rescheduled for now a Monday, 3 more days of ants! Monday rolls around, and again a no show. I call again, they tell me it was rescheduled to thursday. No one contacted me the change. Another 2 hours wasted waiting for no one, I am done! They don't care about their customers time. This is not service. Don't waste your time, they will if you sign up for their service read more

We had Patrick Sweeney from Terminix come in to do a full house inspection suspecting dry wood termite activity. He was very professional and humorous in the way he explained about termites. He had the whole house inspected including the basement and the attic for rats. We were extremely satisfied with his service. read more

Michael Barry was very helpful in discussing the pros/cons of a fly zapper and fly control, wasp control and other potential problems. His communication skills in explaining the situation/evaluating my situation was excellent. I have not had any ant problems lately. If you need an exterminator, Terminix is the one. read more

Dishonest company. The sales person Christine Nicholson overcharged me $394 and I can not get the credit back. Christine came to my house on 12/31. She stated that if I signed the contract for fumigation that day I would get 10% discount on the service and would pay $1530. She showed me the last screen on her ipad (which did not show the amount) and asked me to sign. After I signed and gave her my credit card I received an email that I was charged $1924.10 because I did not receive a discount and was also charged for additional prepaid renewal that I specifically declined. Chrsine promised that she would credit the difference the next day. It has been three weeks and I still can not get money back. I contacted Chrstine several times but she just came up with excuses that she could not get information from her manager Mr. Hurley. At this point I am initiating legal actions against Terminix seeking compensatory as well as punitive damages for fraud. Please do yourself a favor and look for another company. read more

A zero-star review: I contracted with Terminix to do a 10-hour, whole-house heat treatment. After preparing (making arrangements for family, pets, plants, and heat-sensitive items to be elsewhere), they never showed up. Was on hold 15-35 minutes with every call to the call center. They confirmed the appointment but couldn't confirm the service and only said that someone would show up by 5pm -- which didn't make sense since the 10-hour procedure was supposed to be over around then. After I asked repeatedly, they gave me direct numbers of 3 site managers, but no one ever answered and the voicemail boxes were always full. At 11:30, the original inspector returned a message I left and said he'd get to the bottom of it. Never heard back from him. At 6:30pm, one of the site managers left a message asking how the procedure went that day. I had to leave a message when I called back (he didn't answer again, though the mailbox was open now) saying it didn't happen. It's been almost 2 months, and no one from Terminix has ever replied or reached out. No apology or explanation. No request to reschedule. Nothing. read more

Patrick Sweeney sold us on a rodent exclusion plan. Afterwards, I tried to call Terminix to get an explanation of how they arrived at the rather high price. After several tries at reaching a manager, nobody has attempted to call me back. Their customer service number apparently does not reach the local office??? I have no complaint with the workers that came to do the initial work. However, they do not show up when they say they will.... always late. read more

He is so kind to my dog and always listens to my concerns whether it's ants, spiders, wasps etc. He also explains the service he is doing and answers any questions I might have. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE, It's THE SAN JOSE OFFICE IN PARTICULAR, I called terminix for a pest control inspection, on Oct 13, 2016, Pam came out and did the inspection, she said I needed many things done, which was fine, I'm not an expert on this she supposedly is, she told me what the cost would be, over $1,000.00, she said they would close up holes in the basement and do treatment, I agreed gave her a check and she called to see if someone was available to come out the next day, Fri, Oct 14, 2016, someone was available and they came out, very nice person, he said that he has been doing this kind of work for a while now. I discussed with him what pam and I discussed the day before. He told me something different which made a lot of sense and he closed up 1 hole about 1/4" wide and put some metal screens up. The workers who come out are wonderful people, very polite and courteous. It's management that has the problem. This does not cost over $1,000.00, I have spoken to pam then someone named kelvin, who I think got fed up with me calling him because after a while he stopped calling me back and had pam start calling me. I DESERVE A REFUND. I called pam on Dec.6, 2016, told pam that if I didn't hear from someone by Fri, Dec. 9, 2016 that I would write a review on yelp, I have not heard from anyone read more

Reading over some other local Terminix reviews, it seems my experience is about par for the course. The technicians are great, 4 stars for them. However, their appointment system is completely broken. We have been using them for years, and only recently have we needed some in-house service, so it is possible that the system has been messed up for longer than I realized. You schedule an appointment via a call center in Dallas, not through the local office. We have had multiple (5+) no-shows in the last few months - in fact their hit rate is probably less than 10%. When you call to inquire what happened, they often tell you that the appointment was "auto-cancelled" or some such nebulous answer, but it's always you calling them, they literally never call to inform you that an appointment was cancelled. So you waste your time and/or take off work unnecessarily. The call center will offer to contact the local office for you, but they will not allow you to contact the local office directly, and then the local office never calls back. The only time anyone from the local office bothered to contact me was when I submitted an honest, but poor, review through their survey system - however, ironically, when I responded to their email asking me "what could they do to make things better", they again never answered back. It would have been almost comical had it not been so unbelievably frustrating. So finally I gave up and cancelled my service. Do NOT recommend. read more
