This is one of the Worst Professional Companies I have come across in a long time. Confirmed a slot for 1-3pm for doing a termite inspection. Never showed up. We called at least 6 times. Every time the answer was "we are checking with the guy who is in that area and will come back to you". No call backs. No ownership of the delay and constant rude behavior on call. Terminix is now part of the ServiceMaster conglomerate. I have used Terminix quarterly service for the outside of my home for over 15 years. In June 2019, the technician alerted us that he damaged one of our landscape lights. I contacted Terminix of the damaged and requested reimbursement to replace the light (inexpensive light from Home Depot) via a check. After numerous phone calls and emails to the Terminix bureaucracy beginning on June 25, 2019 and receiving numerous false statements from the Terminix bureaucracy about my check's status over time, it took Terminix through September 9, 2019 to get a check to me. I honestly think that had I not persistently followed up, Terminix would have never sent me my check. No one seemed to own the problem. When I asked phone reps If I could escalate to my "local office" or get a corporate contact to which I could escalate my issue, I was told they could not give out that information. Extremely unprofessional. I called and confirmed an appointment but no one ever came. My husband took time off from work to wait for them. Called them 3 times and each time, the representative said inspector is on the way. Last time we called, rep said the appointment was not for that day. Bull crap! Below is a letter to Terminix which has not resolved my issue. July 28, 2019 Terminix Processing Center Terminix PO Box 742592 2233 A Paragon Drive Cincinnati, OH 45274-2592 San Jose, CA 95131 The invoice I received for $219.00 is in error. This invoice was issued for services not rendered. Below is the sequence of events documenting this incorrect invoice. On Thursday, May 30 of this year, my wife (Beth) and I discovered a large colony of carpenter ants inside our bedroom wall. Their damage caused the sheet rock in our bedroom wall to crumble and ants streamed out. We saw clearly through the hole in the sheet rock, the ants had chewed and seriously damaged the studs in the wall. We called Orkin for an inspection and service visit for Friday afternoon. As Friday afternoon wore on, and Orkin did not arrive, we called and learned they had double-booked their inspectors. We canceled that service request and called Terminix instead. It was just before 4:00 pm on Friday, May 31 that Beth made an appointment for a Saturday inspection and treatment. She explained our serious issue stating that "ants are eating our house." She received the "good news" from the scheduling service that "ants are covered" under Terminix's basic service -- along with 27 other bugs. My wife gladly signed up for the $219 initial inspection and service fee, plus the ongoing quarterly fee. Between Thursday night and Friday the ants continued to swarm in our bedroom. They had produced a large hole in the sheet rock. To stop them from pouring into the bedroom, we placed a plastic sheet over the hole and duct-taped all around the sides to seal the ants behind. It was a gruesome sight, but an effective block. On Saturday, June 1, "Randy" arrived and saw the plastic cover and the thousands of dead ants. He looked horrified, said "we don't do ants" and went outside to his truck to call his manager. After about 10 minutes he came back, said he was going to spray outside, along the perimeter of the house and that a more experienced person would come look at the ant problem Monday. Randy then sprayed along the outside of the house, had me sign an iPad, and left. My Visa account was charged for $219. On Sunday, June 2, the ants swarmed again and broke through the duct tape holding the plastic to the wall. We used plaster to cover the hole and stop the ants from swarming into the bedroom. On Monday, June 3, Lynne Lagge came to the house. He looked at the plastic sheet we had used to cover the hole in the wall (which was covered in dead ants) and confirmed we have carpenter ants. He went to great lengths to explain the various treatment options, including "Termidor," which could be placed inside the walls and would kill ants and termites. He estimated the cost at something like $800. I said great and gave him my customer number. He looked in his iPad and saw that Beth had signed us up for a contract that did not include Termidor, so he could not schedule this service. He said he would have another person come out in the next three days. On Wednesday, June 5, we had heard nothing from Terminix. We were tired of waiting for Terminix to figure out how to change our standard program to something that would kill the ants (who were continuing to damage our house!). Beth called 833-893-7381 to cancel our service so we could move on to another company who could solve our problem. At first, Beth was connected to what seemed to be the first-line call center. She explained all of the history above and asked for cancellation of the service and a refund of the initial $219. The call center person very politely said she could not do either, but transferred Beth to another call center who could cancel the contract. So Beth was transferred to another call center and repeated the entire litany of events again. By this time Beth had spent ~20 minutes out of her work day on the phone. The very polite woman at this call center offered to reschedule the service (which Beth declined), and then eventually did cancel the ongoing quarterly service. The woman told Beth she could not issue a refund, only a local manager - Eric or Greg - could issue a refund, but both were in a meeting. She took Beth's phone number and said either Eric or Greg would call her back. Shortly thereafter Beth received a return phone call from "Hardib" (not Eric or Greg). Beth repeated YET AGAIN the litany of events and asked for a refund. Hardib said he would send a person out to the house tomorrow to look at the issue. Beth said that is not why she was calling, Terminix had their chance to provide the services they had promised and they had failed. Beth told Hardib that if he did not issue a credit for the $219 the next call she would make would be to Visa to dispute the charge. Hardib kept trying to convince Beth to allow a reschedule of another inspector Beth said she was calling Visa & hung up. .....Out of space on Yelp, Terminix continues to bill me. read more

This shop is THE WORST !! I had issues with them a year ago. I filed a BBB Complaint & they promised to take care of us when we were ready. Had to get a gas meter moved 1st. So now we are ready & i let them know the dates we wanted 2 weeks ago now. I've contacted Matt who i believe is a manager of sorts. Does not respond. Contacted Wilson the salesperson numerous times also doesn't respond. I'm filing another complaint with the BBB next. They screwed us a year ago & now are doing it again, i don't understand how a company can run like this with employees that just don't give a crap. No food, all gone, gave last of it away Friday morning. Had to cut a tree for them, almost killed it, then cut the fence away. Which has to be fixed now. Everything is all double bagged up all over the house. Sent MANY Texts to the salesman about our concern over being robbed !! ( We were robbed this year Jan 1st ) Not allowed to turn the alarm on, at all !! We went out & bought $900.00 worth of cameras to put up inside the house. I was also concerned about my Car & Bike being Vandalized, so i moved them to separate locations, my guns also. Also the amount of time lost here is mind boggling, even not writing this review.. Why do I have to write these bad reviews? I'm kinda sad about it, but I need to let it know. This company would be better if they would communicate with their customers about when they will arrive for your appointment. 1st try the inspector came to the wrong house and said she would come back later. . I could not as it was getting late. Then I rescheduled for the next day and approaching the end of my appointment 12 pm. NO CALL . So I called the company and told me the inspector was on her way. 45 mins later , NO. So I called the inspector directly and she said she is 6 minutes away, but then again 20 minutes go by. Still waiting. IF you have a time restraint and can't waste time. Pass on this company. My tip for Terminix is to communicate with your customers instead of making them wait and email them for a confirmation on the appointment or call to tell they are on their way or not. UPDATE: The service itself was great (as they outsource their work).. However, I still have issues with this company after fumigation. Terminix is one of the worst home maintenance company we have ever dealt with. Unable to keep appointments or show up on time. Unable to meet commitments, including signed contracts. Their creepy salesman was nothing more than a slick talking charlatan; promising everything, but delivering nothing. Complaints and escalations to Terminix management resulted in not a single returned telephone call; they could care less. When they told us had lost our paperwork (for the second time) days before our contracted fumigation date, we had enough and walked away. We would suggest you do the same. Quick review: made appointment for estimate, they insisted on taking my credit card but said it wouldn't be charged - I cancel appointment well in advance, and by the time I've realized I've been billed there are bogus .05 oz service calls where access couldn't have been made, a yearly subscription (with monthly billing) I never approved, and a contract tossed above the communal mailbox I was lucky to have found. Out and out fly by night stuff from a national company. Has to stop. Terminix and the technician that services our home, Rashaun have been great. Rashaun is always very careful about where he's spraying. He's a great communicator and goes out of his way to make sure that he provides me and my family with EXCELLENT service. I also like the value and convenience that Terminix provides. Being able to call to have someone re-spray whenever we have issues with pesky bugs is SUPER valuable and is worth the fee we pay. read more

I called Terminix and said I had rats in my fruit trees and I have a problem with spiders and mosquitos. An appointment was scheduled and Terminix send out suave Nathan Nutt, if Nutt knocks on your door, slam it shut. Nathan and I walked the backyard and he said you have rats in your crawl space, and I said "I don't think so" I've been under there, they are in the trees. His conclusion was based on four vents that were compromised, dog hair on one of the vents and an old tattered basement hatch. Terminix sub-contracted the cleaning and eradication of crawl space. On the day the two workers arrived, they did not why they were at my house. I said to replace four vents, a hatch and get rid of rats. After spending two hours at Home Depot purchasing the vents, the workers came back and spend 2+ hours installing the vents, they then brought out an oversized vacuum for the crawl space that was taped together to suck out the rats. After removing one bag of debris, they were finished. I asked the workers if there were rats and he said no, I asked were there droppings or nests and he said no and proceeded to show me about 10 pictures of the crawl space. I followed up with Nathan who ignored me and did not reply. The workers did not fix the hatch and or set rat traps. A few days later, without notice, a worker came out and installed two rat traps and two sticky pads. I called Terminix and explained things and I said I should not pay rat removal when there no rats. A worker from the sub contracting company came out and offered to fix the hatch but I said, "no need to, there are no rats." He opened the hatch and saw the two rat traps and stick pads. I would think if a company guaranteed there were rats, that after cleaning them out, they would be jumping for joy and showing off the pictures of rats, but they were not. Nathan Nutt finally replied and said he has photos, probably from another job. The only rat is Nathan Nutt, he misleads, ignores emails and lies so please stay away from Terminix and do not let Nathan Nutt onto your property. read more

I renewed an annual contract this spring, and Terminix claimed they did the annual inspection, but they never contacted me and never inspected inside the house. I then tried to schedule the inspection three times in June and August. They never showed up in June and never called me back. In August, the technician called at the appointed time and said his office had scheduled him for four houses in the same two-hour slot. He set a time for the following week but never showed up or responded to voicemail. The main number denies have any record of these three appointments. read more

I was in desperate need to get a flea treatment and terminix had a deal for $208 that would include a treatment and a follow up visit. Which was great but I was NOT told that I would be charged $139 every follow up visit they would make. I have been charged $139 every time some one has gone out there even though I moved! No one every called me to schedule these follow up visits or to let me know that I was being charged. Cannot believe it cost me $139 times 4 just so some guy could spray the 'front yard' in my San Francisco apartment condo. Really disappointed with the lack of communication and description with this company. Couldn't even get some of my money back. This is the worst service I have ever had. Salesman says that they will spray in the walls, tech says NO. Silverfish are back same day. Called and ask for respray with a new tech. They say it well take a week to have someone out and they will send a manager with him. New tech comes out, no manager, tells me they do not spray bushes for hornets and won't spray kitchen. I ask him to leave if he can't spray where the bugs are, what's the point. Now trying to cancel my contract. I will post more when I find out if I can... : ( read more

They said they cannot schedule out more than 1 week, and they would call back. They did not call, so I had to call several times. I finally got an appointment, and they never showed up. I scheduled for the quarterly service. The substitue technian did half the job, i.e., only upstairs and did not spray garage, lower unit, and backyard. I scheduled for an extra service today, but it was no call, no show. I called the tool free line, someone checked on the computer and told me the guy called in sick. At least they should call me about the sick call. It is totally unacceptable for no call, no show. I had to have a day off waiting for the guy to show up, but he did not. I called Terminix and was told that she could not find the technician and rescheduled me for the next morning (8-10am). Again no-one showed up or called. The worst service I've received from any business in my entire life. I did not read the reviews prior to signing the contract here. My fault. This is a bait and switch operation. Sales guy promises X for subterranean termite control. Contract he provides is sufficiently vague to allow technician an enormous amount of leeway. I did not carefully read his written contract. My fault. Technicians do Y. I was promised X. Very stressful and tense on day of service. Almost lost my temper. We called the sales guy to straighten the issue out, but in the end the technicians said they could not perform service X because they didn't bring their tools. What tools? Shovels. They said they forgot their shovels. They said they'd have to come back another day to finish the job, however I did not want them to come back as I felt they had lied to me. They performed about 2 hours of work, but they did not complete the job nor follow the instructions per the termiticide product label (Termindor HE) which they are required to do. Drill spacing was not 16 inches per product label. More like 30 inches. Thus their work did not comply with the product label. They promised to create a barrier around my house to protect it from subterranean termites per Termidor HE product label, but they didn't do this, thus their work was non-compliant. They tried to charge me the full price for the work. I had to write up a 10 page report documenting how their work was not in compliance with the product label and send to Fidelity credit card to stop the charges. Fortunately my work paid off and Terminix didn't get a penny from me. Even after this they sent me notices to pay my bill and then threatened me with a bill collection agency. I sent the 10 page report to the bill collection agency and seem to have ended the issue. I would steer clear of this company. read more

Terminix knows NOTHING about rodent control. Terminix only knows ant control. I spent about $2600 to do rodent control for squirrels and rats. I even purchased a 5-year warrantee. I spent $3000 to cut down 2 trees and many long branches to the building. Terminix technicians came to the building and sealed holes. Nothing worked. My tenant had to do it on her own. She bought the Evictor.com strobe light. It worked to some degrees. She can sleep 8 hours a night now. She bought $500 materials from Evictor.com and from Home Depot. I had to do the reimbursement even if I hired Terminix. She found squirrel nets with baby and mother squirrels in the attic. I had to spend more money to hire a wildlife rodent control company to do the job. Overall, I spent $10K on this. Terminix's contribution is ZERO. Terminix technicians came in. Not prepared. Did not know what was asked to do, what needed to be done, and what materials/parts were required to bring in. I had to tell the technicians all these. They had ZERO knowledge about rodent control. They sealed something. That was 70% of the holes. I had to search the building and watch youtube to find out more holes. Then I tell them where to seal. Their traps NEVER captured a single animal. Useless. You spent tons of money, made 50 trips to the property, studied 100 hours on the subject, worked with the tenants via a hundred emails. After ALL of these efforts, you got NOTHING. NOTHING worked! I recommend Terminix to shut down its rodent control business completely. read more

The worst experience that I have ever encountered. I would give this a NO STAR, but you get the message. They do not return phone calls, they do not advise when they will show up, they make time appointments and do not show. AND they get mad at the customer for criticizing their lack of courtesy and response. This is not to even mention that they are way overpriced compared to ORKIN or other pest control companies. Your complaints go nowhere, and they advertise that they are customer-oriented and will return a phone call within 24 hours ...... I have waited over one week for the manager to return a call due to an issue with service, and it never happened. I even called the head office in Memphis, and all they did was refer me back to my local office. That was a dead end. Terminix engages in Extortion. Consumer Beware! This Company has erroneously billed me for services I did not receive. BACKGROUND Records indicate that in June 2016 I inquired about fumigation services to address bees and rodents issues. The Sales representative assured me that this could be handled with one service treatment and quarterly thereafter. I was told that I could also cancel my service at any time, as service is guaranteed. I pre-paid my first month fee and scheduled an appointment. When the technician arrived, I was told that he could not fumigate my home for bees or rodents. He said bees were "protected" and would not respond to his chemical treatment. He further recommended I buy mouse traps and seal any small openings to my home. He stated he could spray for spiders and ants but nothing else. I was surprised, as this was not what the sales representative promised me. The technician then proceeded to give me his "personal business card" with his phone number and said he could come by and spray my home any time for half the price. He then asked me out for coffee. I of course declined. Since I had already made arrangements to leave work early and place my pets in the care of a family member to protect them from the chemicals, I allowed the representative to fumigate my home for spiders and ants (although that wasn't a problem for me). Immediately upon his departure I called the customer service team at Terminix. I informed the service representative of my conversation with his technician. I was offered an apology and transferred to another representative to cancel my contract. A representative assured me my contract would be cancelled. I didn't ask to be reimbursed for the $139.00 already paid for a service not delivered. In September, 2016 I was contacted by a technician to schedule a fumigation. I again contacted Terminix to remind them that I cancelled the service. The service representative noted my prior calls and referred me to his "supervisor" who assured me the cancellation had been recorded. A few weeks later I arrived home to find a notice on my door informing me that a technician came by but couldn't fumigate the home because my dogs were in the back yard. Again, I called Terminix and sent an email to reiterate my cancellation. I was assured the cancellation was noted and had occurred. However, my next American Express bill noted another Terminix charge in the amount $139.00. I immediately contacted American Express to file a complaint. American Express disputed the bill with Terminix on my behalf. After 30 days Terminix could not provide any documentation authorizing a contract or for services provided and not paid. American Express declined the payment on my behalf and sent me and Terminix a letter confirming the outcome of their investigation in November, 2016. I thought this annoyance had ended. However, a few weeks later I received another bill from Terminix in the amount of $139.00 for services provided on 10/21/2016. I DID NOT receive this service. I DID NOT authorize service and I cancelled my relationship just days after a pre-payment for initial services I didn't receive. Instead I received a visit from an obnoxious technician who confirmed misrepresentation of your services and who offered to work with me directly as a "side job". There are so many points of harassment, misrepresentation and inappropriate behavior in this case. This is extortion! This is just wrong! I'm a very responsible consumer who pays my bills on time and values my great credit rating. It would be easy to simply pay this bill to stop the continued harassment. However, by doing so I would only be encouraging this type of behavior towards consumers from a large corporation who often gets away with this sort of behavior. I've been calling for 4 days now because there are rodents in my attic and I have an exclusion plan with terminix to handle this that I was sold to my Pam. 4 days and still no call back as I've left many urgent messages with the call center. Not only was this person not authorized to be on my property, but I called customer service and they were of no help either. Someone else had a complaint against my property and gave my address to terminix and when I arrived to my property as they were leaving they claimed that they had a right to be there. Customer service says as long as they are given an address and an invite to the address, then they do not need my permission. In addition, they refused to tell me what work had been done on my property. My biggest complaint is on the customer service's method of handling the trespassing case of this situation and not taking me seriously when I said I did not want them on my property. Absolutely unprofessional that an exterminator would not ask the official owner of the household for permission to enter the premises. read more

I made the mistake of buying a termite abatement program for my home to the tune of several thousand dollars which includes annual inspections of the termite bait traps. The traps were installed, but it is very difficult to get Terminix to honor the annual inspections. Someone was scheduled to come out today between 8 and 10am. No one called and no one showed. Useless. Terminix's policy is that the customer must revolve around their schedule. Appointment made for 14 January for 0900. I get a call after 0900, "I'll be there in two hours." No show. Calls Sunday at 17:30 and I ask if she's lost. She said she had problems and could I be there Monday 13:00-16:00 (sure, I say, who really needs to go to their job? -- good thing I work at a great place!). Monday, I leave work to be on time, but Pam at Terminix doesn't return the favor. She calls at 16:47 to say she's on her way, as if she's doing me some kind of favor. I let her know that she's not the only person working and why does she feel it's appropriate to no show, reschedule and be late for the reschedule. She tells me that it's not her fault, she had problems. She sure does, she's an adult who can't tell time. She finally graces me with her presence and spends a couple of minutes in my house, looks around in the pitch dark and leaves without saying a word. I complained to Terminix and the manager was going to call. Only they don't bother. I'm going to drive down there to personally cancel my account and do it very vocally. I am absolutely​ appalled by​ what horrible​ service we have received​ by Terminix. After being long-time​ customers with regularly scheduled treatments, we have seen the service greatly decline and fast. Multiple services were ineffective, "complimentary follow-up​ services​"don't​ truly exist, the service technician​ was inappropriate, we have had multiple no-show appointments and getting a call back from Eric Johnson, the Bay Area manager, is impossible. He never returns a phone​ call nor does anyone else. I genuinely can not think of how this could be any worse. read more
