My best friend lives a measly block from this place. She shows up daily with a bagel in hand be it for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I'm not the biggest bagel person, but knew I needed to see what attracted her day after day. The tiny store was packed with people on this Sunday morning but they were serving up bagels at a rapid pace. I got a wheat bagel toasted with strawberry cream cheese on the side. The bagel was piping hot but delicious while the cream cheese was the best I've had and I cautiously toted the remaining half that was left in my purse the entire day so I could enjoy it again this morning! With pizza bagels, sandwiches, salads and enough bagel-cream cheese combos to be had, I now see how people are able to back here day after day. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere makes for a great start to the day. Would I go out of my way to get a bagel from here? I'll probably stick with my own neighborhood place but who's to say I won't have my friend bring one extra bagel the next time we're meeting up.... That's what friends are for after all! read more

3.5 stars. I got 2 lox bagels and a Manhattan bagel for a whopping $30+... left feeling very full but also feeling very empty in my wallet. Small place with an extensive menu and overwhelming amount of options. There's an area for you to sit down but it's more of a sit down, eat, and go type of deal. read more

They probably aren't the best bagels in town but they are pretty darn good and they hit the spot, especially on those mornings after you had too much to drink and the only thing you can even think about eating is a bagel. You can roll out of bed and come in here, even if you forgot to brush your hair or your clothes look sort of similar to what you might have slept in....No judgement. You are still served with a smile. I mostly get a coffee and bagel when I come but they have a pretty large selections of sandwiches I will occasionally try. Sometimes I get a mad craving for a bologna sandwich and they get it to me quick. In addition they have pastries and a large selection of prepared foods. I remember when this place opened in the 80s. It was excellent! I wish i could say that the days. I was thete Sunday 3/5/2023 at 11:15. I was really in the mood for chicken salad, unfortunately the top of the salad had brownish spots in s lot of spots on the top layer, not very appetizing. I've seen this before with the tuna salad. I also noticed the macaroni salad had A Lot of brown discolored mayo. They do not cover their salads at end of day with a cover or plastic wrap. They also over mayonaise their salads. For the past 6 months or so, every time I get something from terrace, it goes down in quality. Today, I ordered an egg and cheese on a roll with salt pepper and ketchup. I waited 10 minutes and it was cold, the cheese wasn't melted, and there was no salt or pepper. I pointed this out and asked for a new one and the new one had melted cheese but still had no salt or pepper. Not to mention both times the eggs weren't scrambled and were over cooked. Came here today at 10am, so NOT a busy time on a friday, AND YET. Our order was simple: a bacon egg and cheese on pumpernickel for him, a bacon eater, and an egg and cheese with tomato on pumpernickel for me, a non-bacon eater. We were told there was only one pumpernickel left, but I was happy to have an everything pumpernickel. Totally fine. 8 minutes later we get our bagels and they BOTH have bacon on them? Not only that but his plain pumpernickel has MY tomato on it? So he has a bacon egg and cheese and tomato and I have a bacon egg and cheese... It doesn't end there. Apparently this establishment thinks it's fine to crack ONE egg for an egg and cheese sandwich. So after I give my dude the bacon on my bagel that I did not order, I am left with one egg and a slice of american cheese on a thick ass bagel. The actually contents of the bagel made up less than 1/8th of the sandwich as a whole. I mean, you know what I'm talking about, ideally you'd crack open the two halves of a bagel and see some substance there, that slice of melty cheese between thick layers of soft just-scrambled egg... But no, not here. To add insult to injury, the eggs were just fried over HARD. A miserable experience. Not only did they royally screw up our orders, the egg and cheeses were pathetic. At least one of us ended up getting double bacon, which is fine if you order bacon on your sandwich in the first place. I don't know what they're doing in the back but come on, this is not rocket science, it's a simple bagel order. Pay attention. For 5 dollars a bagel, I'd have taken ANY deli egg and cheese on a roll over this place. At least deli guys know how to cook an egg?? read more

I'm normally not one to leave a review for bad service - I just couldn't get over the service I received the other day. It wasn't bad service, it was just absurd. While there were 5 guys working behind the counter, there was one guy taking an order, making the order, then bringing the order around to the cashier. The line kept growing with each customer's wait taking about 8 minutes before moving on to the next person. The food is fine, pretty typical imho. You finally wake up after a long night of drinking with friends, what do you do? Bagels and coffee. Thank you to the bagel gods because Terrace Bagels did not disappoint - Phew! I was hungover and famished so I ordered the Manhattan on an everything bagel and Lox and Scallion Cream Cheese on an everything bagel. The Manhattan was super delicious and I loved the way they cooked the eggs, bacon, spinach and onions together. I lost count of how many times my friends told me, "damn that looks good". It certainly did and it tasted even better. The Lox and Scallion Cream Cheese bagel was good but nothing special. I wasn't a fan of the way they piled the lox because it kept falling off the bagel with every bite. They have a bunch of tables/chairs which suit small and large parties well. Bagels are delicious in taste and soft in the center as you would expect. The outside could be a bit more crunchy but overall I really enjoyed my bagel and breakfast sandwich. Ordered the mocha cafe as I was feeling some coco after my bagel and it was not great. Just good enough to drink but I probably would order something else next time to drink. They have made it worth coming back and enjoying the quality of the Brooklyn bagel they are known for. Two things you have to try: scrapple. It's like ham or sausage but better. German potato salad. Really nice staff for the most part. Decent bagels but the prepared foods (egg salad, chicken salad) are really sub-par here and are basically to be avoided. This place is in a great location and the only bagel joint in the neighborhood so that's my guess as to why they can get away with mediocre offerings. For a basic bagel and cream cheese this place is fine and gets 3.5 stars from me. The mostly friendly and hard working staff get 4 stars but for everything else I'd give it 2 stars. Suggestion for them: rethink all of your food items and get some objective input. Literally the worst chicken salad I've ever had in my life and how hard can it be to make a good one??? read more

Let me start by saying, they do have great bagels but for the price that they charge it is NOT worth it. Since this is the only bagel store on the avenue it is obviously always crowded and everyone buys the product because there is no where else convenient to buy a great bagel. Every month they raise their prices and WE are the idiots that keep paying these prices. If a new bagel store opened up on the avenue and charged .50 to $1 less with the same quality, I guarantee they would have fantastic business and followers. The best bagels around. In addition to outstanding bagels, terrace is noteable for its healthier offerings including tofu cream-cheese and low-carb bagels. Soy milk is also available. Long lines sometimes, but these lines move quick due to the efficient and friendly workers. At the end of the day, bagels are placed into clear plastic bags and put out with the trash. Every night people come and take them. Great opportunity if you are into that sort of thing which I am not. read more

The bagels are super high quality. The food from the deli counter is always great, and the staff is very polite. It's a very popular place, and you may have to stand on line at certain peak times. Lots of cops like to pick up food here, which to me, seems like a sign of good food and good service. Once in a while they mix up an order, especially if it's an unusual order. Now that I'm writing this, I'm realizing they're so bad at this it's almost funny. Every other time I place an order, it comes in wrong. I'm *allergic* to cheese so I order the sandwich items with no cheese and indicate "no cheese" in the special instructions to be extra safe but they put cheese in every sandwich. And when I request a correction they put in cheese again. No joke, I'll receive two orders in a row, neither of which I can eat. Their delivery times have also gotten worse (up to 2 hours). I've been putting up with this for a long time because they're the closest bagel shop and I try to be sympathetic to their business. But now they've resorted to lying to cover themselves. I order through seamless and when a restaurant uses their own drivers, you can't track it on the app nor contact the driver (as per the attached photo) After waiting 90+ minutes for an order and unable to track it, I called Terrace. After being unable to find my order and then putting me on hold for a long time, they come back to tell me it was delivered and that I have to take it up with Seamless because they delivered it. This is a lie since they didn't employ a Seamless driver. I can't even make a case on the app because the order is still showing up as in progress several hours later, with no tracking (which means Terrace managed this delivery) and of course there is no food, my doorbell never rang, and there was never a text message from a Seamless driver. I wouldn't be writing this if they were just transparent in the first place and I would've looked past this mistake like I did countless times in the past, but this is a step too far for me so screw it. read more

I.love.this.place. The bagels are perfect, a little crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. You can get a bagel free if you get half a dozen, what a steal! My favorites are everything and pumpernickel, but you really can't go wrong with any of the flavors. The cream cheese is good but it's kind of expensive, but it's worth it. The folks who work here are super friendly, funny, and kind. I've seen regulars come in here and they are always met with a smiling face and positive attitude. Their menu is huge and overwhelming, especially because the staff are so efficient and the line moves very quickly, so you won't have much time to ponder! Luckily, Terrace is excellent with all the bagel fundamentals, so you can't go wrong with most options. The bagels are a normal to large size and are quite chewy. Beyond bagels though, they also have a wide variety of breakfast platters, sandwiches, and diner-type entrees. There is a small seating area past the cashier counter, but most people take their food to go, so there is generally plenty of space if you want more of a sit down breakfast on the weekend. read more

Again, continually disappointed in this place. Was given the wrong order yet again. A bacon/egg/cheese is not something I have frequently and so after being excited about it all morning, I got to work and didn't have a bacon/egg/cheese.
