What a pleasure. It was a pretty hot day, but we ate outside under the fans. Turned out to be very nice. The service was good and our reservation was handled promptly. The carrot appetizer was phenomenal and I'm forgetting the other appetizer platter with a variety of veggies. Excellent. The atmosphere was nice and dinner was a pleasure. My wife had the salmon which she said was excellent and I had a vegetarian dish with light oil. Very nice. I know they have been shaking out a new place during a tough time in the service biz. This new location still has some kinks to work out, like a previous reviewer said. The ambiance was great but It was absolutely freezing in the restaurant. The flower pot bread was great but it would have been nice to receive it as soon as we sat down as opposed to right before our dinner which took a while to come out. The quinoa bowl was dry. Even the server who seemed inexperienced mentioned it needed more tahini sauce. It was disappointing since I love the other locations and was so happy to see a Terrain come to our area. read more

Visually stunning inside, they have these beautiful seasonal flower arrangements throughout the place and has an overall nice ambiance. It's usually pretty slow but the servers are nice. Food is usually good, there's been a few misses but the short ribs are great and the cheese boards are stunning. Espresso drinks are also good. Lots of vegetarian options, I like the harvest bowl. I always love their seasonal butters that come with the bread (right now its orange cranberry). Start off with the service. It was very good. Waitress took our drink orders and answered questions about the menu. I had the arugula and stone fruit salad. There were 2 little tiny pieces of peach. I don't think there were pistachios in the salad either. Don't call it stone fruit salad if you have to hunt through the arugula for the stone fruit. And,Just say peach and arugula if no other fruits are in the salad. Not a lot of flavor in the dressing. The turmeric beverage was very good as was the bread and butter. we went to Terrain Restaurant, in Doylestown, twice now, for their Brunch menu. The first time, we had nice, breakfasts meals, although we noted the service was a bit slow. At one point, my wife went into the restaurant from the patio, to search for our server. We revisited this Saturday. we had a 1:45PM reservation. the server came over and took our drink orders, then our meal order. At 2:45PM, food started arriving to our table. there were 3 of us. One ordered a salad as well as an entree. Two entrees were delivered; no salad; no third entree. The server asked if she should deduct the salad from the bill, but the guest still wanted it. After a few minutes his salad arrived, but not my entree (fried eggs and short ribs with hash browns.). My wife and friend both waited for my food to arrive before eating, which took another 10 minutes. My fried eggs were overcooked with hard, rather than runny yolk, and my Margherita was a very sour drink similar to a Gimlet or whiskey sour. My impression is that the waitstaff are students from Del Val University, where the restaurant is located, and they lack proper training. The kitchen staff could not handle the customer load. Altogether, it was not worth a revisit for $18-20 a breakfast. read more

I have been to Terrain multiple times since it's opening and each time I am hoping for a better experience. Starting with the positives...the location is super convenient for me and the ambience can't be beat. Cocktails are unique, beautiful and tasty creations, although pricey. Now the negatives... the food is subpar, especially for the price, orders frequently wrong, and unfortunately, each time I have been there, the service is beyond unfriendly and inhospitable. You are either ignored or made to feel like an inconvenience. It is a shame, this place could be amazing. Time to find a new spot to gather with friends and family. read more

We went for dinner and let our hostess know it was our 1st time here. As we were seated in a few minutes a lovely charcuterie board was placed in front of us. We thought wow must be because of our 1st visit. We began eating I had a piece of bread dipped into the honey my daughter had a slice of apple and bread. I attempted to eat lunch here. I asked for a table for two and was told that there would be a wait. I said ok and I stepped to the side to wait. The woman behind me asked for a table for two and the host pulled out two menus and walked to a table. I thought it was my table- so did the woman who came in after me. I followed the host to the table and he told me the table was not for me but the other woman. I assumed she had a reservation so I went back to wait for a table. The woman still at the host stand waiting for her dining companion to arrive. I asked her if she had a reservation she said she did not have one. The host said his manager told him to take her to a table. Why would she be given a table before me when she arrived after me with no reservation and we both requested a table for 2. I arrived first, clearly I should have gotten the first available table. I know why I wasn't given the priority. Unless you want to be treated less than do not go to this place! read more

Mixed review as the ambiance is good, the food is generally good but the service is odd. Bread service, in a clay flowerpot, was more beautiful than delicious. We both started with the mushroom soup ... very good. I had the burger while my husband had the tuna. Both delicious but the "salad" that came with the burger was just spring mix lettuce on the side. I don't think desserts are a strength here. We were part of a larger group wanting to catch up with each other ... the server gave me the impression that we were interrupting his flow. It was strange that the ordering system here couldn't figure out how to split the check among four couples. I doubt that we'll go back for dinner ... but perhaps breakfast, not sure. read more

I first want to say that I left a previous review with some negative critique and it has been removed. I know it was seen by Terrain because they responded to it. Now it's gone. I did not have a pleasant visit my first time here. It pales in comparison to the other two locations. I am a huge fan of the Glen Mills Terrain. Because the DelVal location is newer and I went in the early stages of opening while I had a less than par experience I decided to give it a second chance. I took my girlfriend for her birthday. Sadly, there has been no improvements made here. Our server was inattentive. Our food was bland. There was a drop of dressing on the salad. The bacon was pathetic. Diners do better. Our bread was undercooked and we watched a flower pot make its way to another table that looked overcooked. The paper straw is ridiculous. Don't waste your time and money here. read more

Four of us went there for lunch and no one liked their meals. Ran into friends at another table and they said the same thing. The grilled cheese sandwich was two thick pieces of bread with almost no cheese inside. The frittata was dry. The avocado toast was mostly bread with a thin spread of avocado on it. Now, here's the "newly opened restaurant" criticism that I hope management will take to heart. You CANNOT hire serving staff with no to little industry experience and not properly train and manage them while they are working! There was no floor manager there to check on them or customers. Our server would not take plates away. We had plates piling up. Our dessert came with ALL our dinner plates still on table. Again, this is on house management. He had longish hair and kept shaking his head. It was sort of disgusting. No hair band??? He actually ignored us and we had to ask the sweet girl behind the bar that was waiting on hight tops to Waite on us, she did. The food took forever and wasn't that good. First time trying it out and last time. Yes it's beautiful inside. BUT over priced, slow service and poor food quality. We waited 45 min for our food. We kept on asking the waiter ketchup, drinks, straws, milk for coffee, things that should have been brought out. When I asked for ketchup it was brought out 20 min later and I already finished my fries dry. Bacon was so dry inside the burger it hurt my gums. The burger it self was dry too. Now regarding the prices. One of our orders was a toast avocado for $ 13. There was barely any avocado on it. I had to order extra avocado on the side and I was charged extra $4 for five super thin slices. Like what!? It wasn't even a lot of avocado. Anyways, we were a party of four and all of us did not enjoy our food. Wasted $92 plus tip. The working staff needs needs to be vigilant of its customers. I have been to Terrain three times - the first time food coming out was slow but the food was wonderful and I know it was new and we gave it a pass - the second time with my husband and family we had a lovely meal thanksgiving weekend - we thoroughly enjoyed it! Now tonight we went on a quiet night to enjoy food and drinks at the bar and to buy Christmas gifts at the garden store which we loved from the previous times. After eating our courses at a leisurely pace we were told my husband could not have any more drinks - that he was "flagged". Seems odd since the only thing I think he was guilty of was telling bad "dad" jokes lol. Since I'm in the business we left quickly without any argument - I left a full drink (second for me, he had asked for a third) and we cancelled our dinner order. I honestly feel there was some inexperience behind the bar - perhaps they wanted us to leave so they could close early? We were the only ones at the bar - it was still rather early - 5-6pm?! We were very disappointed since we loved the menu - just a very odd experience and it was a bit humiliating. I will still give it three stars because of the food and the garden store and our previous visits. read more

The young women working the check in said you will need walk around a bit your table is not ready! Mind you there were plenty of tables in the place open. A couple after us were immediately seated. We walked around the crazy over priced gift shop and came back. We were led outside to a table directly in the sun. We asked for something inside and again the young women said we only have a high top in the bar area? Mind you we made these reservations 5 days before and there were about 8 tables open. The French toast was completely burnt and the salad my friend ordered looked no different then one from Wendy's with strawberries. Sorry but won't be back any time soon. Aside from the interior of the place there are better places to eat with better service. Not worth the 85+ we spent. read more

If you don't like to sit on top of strangers or if you like not to hear their conversation or they hear yours...don't come here. Don't bring anyone with a hearing problem. it is so loud with the volume of customers voices, it gave me a headache. I can't believe with all they spent and put into this place they didn't put in those ceiling tiles that absorb sound. it's awful. The food, well I have food allergies, and the waitress could not guarantee cross contamination from cook surfaces or cutting boards. I know this is my problem, but MANY Doylestown restaurants will accommodate when I ask. it was simply not an option here. I got the burger, which was the most bland burger I've ever had and the outside was burnt...so all I tasted was burnt meat. the fries, which are $2 extra (could not get the salad for caution with mushrooms being cut on the same cutting board as the lettuce.) The fries were cold and just your average out of the freezer bag into the fryer fries. I requested Mayo and mustard for my hamburger twice...never came out. so this is just my opinion, and my experience but I won't be back and neither will my friend I met there.
