They kept my…read morecar for FOUR HOURS for an oil change and did not tell me that a tech had been injured, causing the delay. when I called at hour 2. If you would've told me that someone was hurt, I would've taken it back the next day. But that option was not provided and then I was made to feel bad about it when I complained that the appointment took so long. They also misdiagnosed a problem with vibration in my vehicle. I ended up replacing the front struts, which probably would've needed it down the road, but it was not urgent or the cause of my problem. They also quoted over $500 more than any local shops for the struts. They were even more expensive than mitis! And they wanted a down payment as a deposit for the work. I've never seen this before. Not just here but anywhere! The kicker is that it was not the struts at all, instead there was a driveshaft problem that they should've seen because I asked them to look at the alignment, steering, and rear differential. They also missed the fact that a rear strut was leaking during that same check (which should've been obvious if they were actually checking the rear differential fluid). When I called to ask why the service was so inconsistent with the actual issue, and to see if they would issue me a refund based on the extra work I had done because of them, I was hung up on. I'm not sure what's going on with the manager but she used to be a very nice person. Not lately. Don't get me wrong, are used to rave about this place. I even took down a five star review in which I joked that I hope they did not get too popular because I liked getting good appointment times. I wish this place was good. They were good for a long time. Not anymore. Watch yourself. Who asks for a deposit especially from a long term customer - over six years I've been going there and always trusted their suggestions and prices. Maybe COVID has affected the way they do business.

After removing the tire, the service representative informed me that the tire was not repairable. While I understood and accepted that outcome, I was surprised to be charged $55.60 for the visit. According to my receipt, I was charged $45.60 for labor and $10.00 for parts, despite no repair being completed and no explanation being provided regarding what parts were used. The receipt also did not show any tax charges, which raised additional questions about the billing. Wanting to verify whether this was standard practice, I contacted another Midas location and was told that charging this amount when a tire is deemed unrepairable is not typically their policy. To put the charge into perspective, I then took my car to NTB, where I was charged only $43.70 to have a new tire mounted and balanced. In other words, mounting and balancing a new tire cost less than what Midas charged simply to remove a tire and determine it couldn't be repaired. I have no issue paying for professional service and understand that technicians deserve compensation for their time. However, customers also deserve transparent pricing and a clear explanation of charges. Being billed more than $55 for a tire inspection that resulted in no repair, without any prior disclosure or detailed explanation, felt excessive and disappointing. I hope management reviews this situation and their pricing practices to ensure customers are fully informed before cha

This particular visit I came for a tire check to see if there was a nail in one of the tires as it went down in tire pressurw prompting service light. I waited inside for a nice while before a female came from the back, and asked how could she help. I informed her that I not long got the tires from this location and told her that I needed someone to check the back tire for a nail. She said its going to be about 45 minutes. I just needed it to be visually looked at. She did not bother to look so I could gauge a time to get it fixed. I had to leave and go somewhere else to have it checked. For the price of service and tires, customer service here doesnt add up to the value.

Stay Away from NTB Auto in Owings Mills, MD -- Dishonest and Unprofessional Experience…read more I went to NTB Auto in Owings Mills on November 2nd at 3 PM to have my car battery replaced, thinking it would be a quick and simple process. Instead, I left deeply concerned that other customers may be getting taken advantage of. From the moment I arrived, I received no greeting, no free battery check, and no basic courtesy. The employee simply asked for my car's make, model, and year, then quoted me $360 to replace the battery. When I said that price was ridiculous and that I'd be leaving, he told me that included "the battery and their time to install it" -- then asked me what I was willing to pay and said we could work something out. That comment alone raised major red flags. Pricing should be standardized, not negotiated like a flea market. I declined and asked why the prices were not already set. He asked me again "what are you willing to pay?" After that, I left, having to jump my own car in their parking lot with no help offered. I called NTB's customer service line and spoke to a kind, professional woman who indicated that it was a concern who said a district manager would reach out. When he did, rather than listening or investigating, he defended the store's behavior and claimed they were "just trying to find me the best deal." That explanation only made things worse. I requested a follow-up but never received one. For comparison, I went to Walmart immediately after and paid around $125 for a new battery with free installation. There is something very wrong with how this location operates. I strongly recommend avoiding NTB Owings Mills altogether. Transparency, integrity, and basic customer service are sorely lacking.

Like everybody, I waited patiently in your thimble-sized office, navigated your comically undersized lot, and quietly appreciated the humor of your staff through the years. Thank you for that. So why today was I met by two new faces at the service desk with such a strikingly different attitude? I was surprised to hear oil changes require advance appointments, and you now prefer online. I mean, sure, I can do that. But when did that change? And why was a technician I've never seen before so condescending about it? He was downright hostile. Then the other guy chimed in and accused me of interrupting him. Honestly, gentlemen, I asked myself, "Is it worth it to schedule an appointment with you, if I know it's going to be you calling me to tell me any additional work that may need to be done? Do I trust the two of you?" The answer in that split-second moment was no. The arrogance, sarcasm, and belittling behavior by this pair made me realize I wouldn't trust these two to be the communicators of my mechanic shop. When I asked where the two old guys went, Kyle said with a smirk, "They went where all old guys go." Um, did they die? No, they retired, thankfully. Old guys from the desk, you are missed by your customers! Maybe it's the same great mechanics working behind closed bay doors at Hollenshade's, I don't know. Two guys I've never seen before told me things about how the business works that I've never heard before and treated me in a way no one at Hollenshades ever treated me before. Which leads me to the conclusion that this is not the same Hollenshade's I've trusted for over 20 years. I'm genuinely disappointed that I need to find a new mechanic. I honestly don't know what's happening at Hollenshade's anymore.
