My friends were in town and rented a Tesla because that's what they have at home. In a nutshell, there are only 6 chargers. I think we were 4th in line, waited about 20 minutes for our turn, plugged in and the car said it would take 35 min to charge. We ran to the store and came back in 25 min and the car now says 25 min to finish charging. Haha. I believe Hawaii is not equipped for electric cars and if you're buying an electric car be sure to have your house set up for this. read more

Very nice to have a Supercharger in my side of town 2 miles from home, but its becoming a miserable experience each and everytime. There is at least 6 cars charging and about 4 to 8 cars in line to to charge. Usually takes 1 hour to 1.5 hours to charge and get out of there. Unfortunately Kahala has 12 chargers about 26 miles away from my house. You have to valet and then charge - not a very smart idea, they are not busy I wonder why? Live in a townhouse so need to spend about 12k to install a charger - definately cost prohibitive. Definately can't wait for the 12 additional superchargers at Pearlridge - making total of 18 super chargers soon. I love my Tesla, but hate the charging process, charger is awesome, but the line is getting worse. I hope Tesla adds more super chargers on Oahu every year. Definitely charges your Tesla very quickly, however since there are only 6 stations, all stations are usually occupied and there's usually a wait. If not a wait, there's also a long line that comes with it. The best time I've used this station without any wait, was a little before 5am. read more

As these platforms shift more towards electric transportation, the urgency for additional infrastructure becomes even more palpable. For perspective, cities like Austin, Texas -- with a population smaller than Honolulu's, let alone Oahu's -- enjoy the luxury of approximately six Supercharger stations. It's baffling to think of the thousands of Tesla owners on Oahu vying for a spot at this singular, overburdened station. Conveniently located at the Pearlridge Center, six stalls are situated on the first level between Longs Drugs and where Sears used to be. Simply enter from Pali Momi St (the entrance next to Chili's takes you straight back to the chargers). Four spots are the traditional back-in type while the other two are parallel parking stalls. The fastest way to charge a Tesla but with more EV mfg adopting the NACS vs CCS even more reason to build more superchargers in Hawai'i. The biggest gripe is there is not enough superchargers per capita considering the plethora of Tesla's on Oahu! I don't think the EV range anxiety is an issue for Hawai'i. But the charging anxiety is real. Hawai'i needs to double down on the infrastructure installations and should mandate developers mandate charging areas for all new apt, condo's and solar and chargers for homes in sun belt areas. Or there will be a serious problem. The state should negotiate with Debartlo who built Ka Makana Ali'i to do a public private partnership with them to take advantage of that open parking lot to retrofit solar carports across the mall parking creating shade for shoppers cars and passive solar farm to reduce carbon foot print of the mall! Awfully convenient... and fast! Just 30 minutes to get to ~200 miles range. That also means you can be out pretty quickly even if all 6 spots are taken when you arrive. There are 4 "back in" and two "parallel" spots. If you back in, go until your rear tires bump the concrete block and the charger cable should reach your power port just fine. read more

This review is for the entrance and wait line for the Tesla charge station. The overall process is ridiculous. Now that the farmer's market (which I love) has moved, one of the road entrance is blocked. You have to enter near Longs, head towards the charge stations, go down the alley, make a U turn then get in line. With the popularity of Tesla's now, this charge station is very popular. But with only 6, it obviously isn't enough. But, it's better than having no charge station at all. read more

Ridiculous amount of wait time to charge. More often than not, you show up at 7:30 p.m. and get to charge at about 2 a.m., finally. Cars waiting to charge can wrap behind the old Sears building. The cost of charging is either .60 cents a charge pkh or .50 cents per kilowatts after 8 pm. Usual charge about $35 a charge or if you're lucky about $25 dollars between 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. cheapest time to charge at this super charger and only 6 super chargers on entire island. With so many tesla owners and condo owners, we have no choice but to use these super chargers. The only other alternatives are the Fast chargers scattered all over the island and wayyyyyyyy cheaper at. 29 cents per minute so about $8.45. Yes, you read that right, $8.45 to charge my car in about 30 minutes without any lines using Electrify America. read more

The line is so so so long always. Six chargers share two power supplies. Three and three. It only charges at 50 when the two other cars are plugged in and there's always other cars plugged in. Now there is a alley in which you wait but the mall has blocked off access so you have to go down the alley next to the waiting cars. Also, you can see one of the chargers from the line so often that car will leave but you don't know it. Tesla please help us out. This is horrible. Put a mirror so we can see. Put a light. First time experience the Tesla Superchargers on Oahu and let me tell you, it is nothing like the stations on the mainland. You'll be able to find lots of stations on the mainland through the Tesla network. With more Teslas in Hawaii, the people deserve more than one station with multiple stalls and a better configuration. It took us over 15 minutes of trying to get to the area because of all the hurdles and road blocks in the Sears parking lot. We saw one car in line and by the time we finally got there, 5 more Teslas joined. Owners charging their cars left to get dinner so that increased our wait time. However, we did enjoy playing games and watching tv on the Tesla infotainment. read more

When you drive in look up for the sign that directs you to the line. Works great for the most part. If you're a new comer to the supercharger you might not see it, but no worries I'm sure someone will either be nice or rude to you but you'll for sure know there's a queue for future charges. Also stop parking and leaving it's seriously 30-35 mins smh. Annoying AF when you've been waiting in line, fully charge up and the same a**hole is still parked cause they decided to go shopping or whatever. Line's always long. Waiting time always an hour or more. Don't buy a Tesla if you don't have to charge it at home or just relying on supercharger, it will consume your precious time.
