Tried this place for the first time tonight and it was incredible! Great happy hour every day until 6pm and has both drinks and food options. The sweet potato's were surprisingly delicious! But the all around favorite was the peas and carrot pasta. 10/10! Parking was easy, service was great, lots of seating!

Let's start by saying AMAZING SERVICE! And then... AMAZING DRINKS and even more AMAZING FOOD! You MUST try this little gem. I love loved it and now I'm in trouble because I live 5 min away. The place is chill and inviting and you'll feel right at home.

I ordered takeout directly and ended up having a full-blown culinary experience I was not emotionally prepared for. First of all, this place is tucked into a tiny little plaza, and finding the door felt like unlocking a hidden level in a video game. There's also a Changing Hands bookstore right there, which I did NOT expect, but fully appreciated. Bonus points for the private parking lot because I was in full "grab food and disappear" mode. Let me set the scene: I rolled up looking like I had just survived a swim lesson in 2003. Sweatpants, questionable hair, zero regard for society. And you know what? Still had a totally smooth, easy pickup experience. So if you're like me, go anyway. If you know people in the area... maybe brush your hair first. Now, the food. Grilled cabbage: What in the actual magic is this? I did not know cabbage could taste like this. It was charred, slightly crisp but still had bite, layered atop a creamy yellow sauce (I NEED to know what that is), plus something with a little heat (Harrisa?), like not spicy, just a warm background kick, and crispy bits that might've been garlic or onions. There were so many flavors happening I literally had to pause and process my life. Even after sitting in the box for a bit, it held up. I devoured it. Would 100% order again without hesitation. Lamb kofta: Okay, honesty moment, I do not usualy eat the meats and I get weird about doneness. These were dense, juicy, and packed with flavor, but a little too pink/soft/squishy for my personal comfort at first. That said, once I gave them a quick air fryer moment, they were delicious. Flavor-wise? Incredible. Dressing the pita with everythung gave this warm, almost ginger-like heat (I think from the peppers?) that hits just right. The pepperoncinis could not have been your average jar situation, something different about them. Would it be my first pick next time? Probably not. But was it good? Absolutely. Greek salad (small): Perfectly balanced. Like, every bite just worked. Olives, dates, goat cheese, farro, cucumbers, tomatoes, red onion, nothing overpowering, everything in harmony. The dressing leaned a little tangy, almost vinegar-forward, but it balanced beautifully with the creaminess of the goat cheese and those little hits of sweetness from the dates. And the dates weren't like "oh, here's a date," it was more like "wait... was that a date? thank you." Also held up beautifully overnight in the fridge, no soggy sadness. It felt more like a really well-done side than a full meal, I was genuinely impressed. Overall: I went in expecting "quick pickup dinner" and ended up having a full sensory experience with cabbage as the star of the show (never thought I'd say that in my life). I'm already thinking about what I'm ordering next.

I recently visited Tesota with my girls and had a bit of a mixed experience. The location is great it's right on a busy street and conveniently next to a bookstore, which makes it an easy place to stop by. Parking in the restaurant's lot is pretty limited, but there is an overflow lot across the street which helps. The atmosphere inside was relaxing and comfortable, which I appreciated. The service was friendly as well. Our waiter was very nice, although service overall was a little slow. It seemed like they may have been short-staffed, and our waiter was also taking care of a large party at the same time, so that may have played a role. Foodwise, it didn't quite hit the mark for me. The pancake was very large, which could be great, but it arrived warm on the close side of Luke warm, rather than hot. I think it would've been much better if it had been brought out right when it was finished. The bacon was a bit inconsistent too some pieces were cooked perfectly while others were undercooked, almost as if they came from two different batches. Overall, the experience just wasn't my personal favorite, so I probably wouldn't return. That said, the location and atmosphere are nice, and others might have a better experience than I did. With a few adjustments especially getting the food out hot and keeping the cooking consistent it could easily be a much stronger visit.

Friends and I visited this location on Saturday, February 28, a little after 11 AM. The scenery is very nice, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming. Eric provided excellent service -- he was kind, attentive, and very helpful with drink selections and menu recommendations. They offer happy hour every day from 2 PM to 6 PM with both food and drink specials. That's definitely the best time to visit if you're looking to save and enjoy some great deals. On average, a meal with a drink ranges from about $20-$30 or more depending on what you order. We ordered the classic cheeseburger (well done) with wedge fries, the crispy fish sandwich with wedge fries, and the butter pecan pancake served with a side of bacon and a coffee drink. The drink I had that was very good was called newton's fig. Overall, the food and drinks were very good and flavorful. A small tip for future visitors: you may want to request the wedge fries cooked less crispy, as ours were a bit too hard to fully enjoy. Also, make sure the bacon is cooked thoroughly, as some pieces were slightly undercooked. The pancake was 1 big size maybe would be better to to have 2 pancakes per order w: 1 side included. In addition; to make sure all food is brought out hot not warm because all our food was just warm. The restaurant is conveniently located in our plaza and offers both a main parking lot and overflow parking across the street. There are also other nearby stores to enjoy, including a bookstore and a breakfast spot right next door. Overall, we had a good experience with delicious drinks, good food, and friendly service, and we would visit again.

I was looking for a somewhat nice restaurant to dine in for lunch, and found it. The restaurant has a great vibe, with attentive staff. There is plenty of seating, mostly indoors, but they also offer tables outdoors on the patio. I sat outside. I came during the week. Only a couple other parties dining. This restaurant most likely gets busier at night, on the weekends. I ordered a salad and Mac and cheese. The food was delicious. Staff were extremely attentive I felt like I was the only one in the restaurant. Parking: Plenty of free, shared parking with a couple other businesses.

This is a spot is a vibe!!! It has so many delicious dishes to try! Our server was fantastic and food came out quick and fresh. The bread and spread was one of the highlights and I would absolutely recommend this appetizer if you are planning on going!!

Ive had breakfast here at least half a dozen times and every time it's been delicious. Today I was with friends and I had a glass of the fresh squeezed OJ (which was amazing, like candy almost) and the Banana Foster pancake. My friends had the Lox sandwich and Classic Cheeseburger. All three blew us away. The server(Rachel) was friendly and fast, even though she misspoke about the Lox being made in house it was still fantastic. The atmosphere has a casual but elevated vibe with great lighting and warm furnishings. Will definitely be back.

Went in to grab a bite with friends to celebrate a couple birthdays and had such a great experience. Lyric was such a beautiful young lady with amazing customer service! Truly the reason I'd come back again and again. She made our night feel extra special. The outdoor space is very spacious, which made it perfect for our group. I cannot say enough positive comments! Celebrated a friends engagement with a small group of friends. From making a reservation to serving dessert; the entire staff was AMAZING! They set up a beautiful table for us on the patio; had heaters ready as the morning brunch was a tad chilly.. As a first-timer who read the previous reviews and based on initial impressions upon walking in, excitement was all I could feel. I joined my party slightly late (15 minutes), and they had yet to receive their first round of drinks. Understandable, as happy hour was wrapping up and, from what I can assume, they were setting up for the dinner rush. There seemed to only be one server running the entire dining room, which seemed odd. I got around to ordering a drink, and my cocktail was simply not to my liking. It had a strong taste of perfume, which was off-putting. I wanted to bring it up to the server to see what my options were, and let's say the ice was almost fully melted before he came back to check on us. I decided to let it go and move on from that. For dinner, I opted in for the half chicken. The chicken was delicious and moist. A solid dish. As the dining room started to fill up, the service just got worse and worse throughout the night. When we were lucky enough to be checked on, the drinks that were put in took forever, dirty dishes flooded our table, waters were only filled once, and dessert options? Good luck. We decided to close out (check took forever and was wrong). I took it upon myself to go up to the bar and ask for it to be corrected all for the woman I approached to suck her teeth and take a deep sigh as if I had just asked her to carry me out to my car on her back while barefoot. The check was corrected, I sat back down, and luckily we were able to wave down one of two apparent servers to process our payments. At this point, I expressed my disappointment in the experience, and all I got was "sorry we're busy" and the server walked away with our cards. I have never experienced such awful service and downright disregard to a negative dining experience. I will never return. Please do better for the people who are willing to give you another chance because relying solely on your food alone to excuse awful service will only take you so far. read more

My Yelp-writing days are behind me, but I had to hop on to give the Tesota team a shout. We had a large party celebrating a friend's engagement this weekend that was booked without any issues or extra fees/prix fixe menus/private room needed, which is almost impossible to find for nice restaurants here. Brunch is a new addition for them but you'd never know from how smoothly things ran, and you can also order from the regular menu. Everyone raved about their orders so you can't go wrong -- the white sweet potatoes are a standout! Beautiful restaurant, great service, extensive/amazing menu, easy parking across the street, and Changing Hands is right next door to walk it off after. Thank you Tesota! read more

There's nothing that's cherished quite like a great neighborhood restaurant that feels like an extension of your own home and that's exactly what Tesota is. Each time we go, we're greeted with warm, friendly, familiar faces of friends. Nothing about the experience is transactional. We don't often dine out but have found ourselves returning week after week for the exceptional food (the most "basic" Margareta pizza is artistic and lovingly produced with fine, local ingredients), an incredible array of happy hour offerings, and regulars who grace the bar and invite conversation. Our most recent meal was this evening with Eric and Brittany who have a knock for making a meal into a magical evening. We can't thank each member of the team enough for creating a place that we'd recommend to anyone and bring everyone to. It's such a comfortable space for enjoying a sunset on the patio, feeling the bustle of the city in the dining room or even popping into the adjacent bookstore between bites. read more

This was my first time visiting this establishment and I was extremely pleased. We had cocktails and food. The drinks were really good and the food was amazing! My friend had the macaroni and cheese and I had the spicy pizza. My friend so enjoyed her macaroni and cheese that she took home another order for her husband. My pizza was fantastic! I knew my daughter would love it as well so I ordered one for her. She wholeheartedly agreed! I know we will be going back again soon. read more

From the ambiance to the service to the food what an amazing experience! The food was so delicious and we tried several different appetizers and they were all so good! The shrimp was cooked to absolute perfection. All of our entrees were amazing and we all sampled each others. We were lucky enough to have Eric as our server. He is such a professional and really understands the menu. His recommendations were spot on! Even the drinks were great. One of the best old fashions I've ever had. We had the best time at Tesota! Ashli was extremely accommodating for a last minute reservation for 20+ of us. Eric was the absolute best and provided a wonderful experience for our group. He was so accommodating, patient, and funny! Compliments to Chef Jared for the delicious food and for taking the time to chat with us. Wow...what a great surprise in Tesata's. Went in for the Happy Hour to check it out and we left completely satisfied. Started with draft beer and oysters and truffle Mac n cheese. We then ordered the pizza, salad and house wine special. The asian salad was soooo good and we loved the margarita pizza, the crust is to die for. The service was perfect and Jenna was very good and took care of us. The other servers were not afraid to remove empty dishes or fill your water as they passed. Our experience was exceptional and this will become a frequent stop for us. They hit it out of the park with food and service and for a very reasonable price. See you soon Teaota!! read more

Went here with a group of 4 people. Eric was our waiter. Service was really good and timely. We were well looked after. Food was really good. For the apps we go the bread plate and harissa shrimp. Everyone enjoyed both dishes. The bread that it comes with is a little difficult to manage but good. We got every small plate and everyone enjoyed them all. Steak and pizza as main. Again no complaints with the dishes themselves. My only issue was the chimichurri I got with it. It was missing acid to help cut through the fat on the ribeye. Otherwise everything was great :) read more

The menu is so novel.and varied that it's hard to describe. I've had a couple of the one dish lunch dishes that were great. The shrimp bucatini is very good. May be too spicy for the timid. There's a rice bowl on the menu that doesn't appear on the website that has chunks of fried chicken in it. Loved it. Waffle fries on the side? Yes, please. Also loved a pita sandwich of pulled chicken and lots of lettuce. Doesn't appear on this on line menu but you may find it on the printed menu at the store. I really enjoy this place. The servers and maitre di folks are the best. Hurry on over there. NOW! read more

Tried it a week or two after they opened and I was incredibly impressed with the great food and service! We started our meal with the wings (half dry rub and half gochujang buffalo). The wings were fried perfectly and we loved both the dry rub and gochujang buffalo. Next we tried their cheeseburger (made with A5 Wagyu) and their Fish Katsu Sando! The burger was simple but spectacular and quickly made my list of the top burgers in valley. The patty was cooked to my desired doneness of medium rare, seasoned perfectly and had a great crust. I'll be back for sure just to have this burger. The Katsu Sando was good but my first bite didn't have the slaw so it initially lacked some flavor but once I got a bite of the fish with the slaw, it was very tasty. Last but not least was the seared olive oil cake which had just the right amount of sweetness topped with strawberries and sat on some sweet cream. Very impressed with our first (and certainly not our last) visit. Highly recommend you check out Tesota for great vibes and bites! read more

Tesota is a weekly spot for us. You can't beat the Happy Hour! Erik is our usual server and he's become our Happy Hour Buddy. The bread alone has us constantly coming back. The margaritas? Yummy! I was visiting with family from Texas, and my sister recommended Tesota for dinner. Despite having a larger group, we were sat quickly and the server was wonderful! We split all of the smaller plates and then shared serveral entrees, each dish was delicious. Highly recommend Tesota when in the Phoenix area! read more

Delightful experience... I appreciate how light and airy the restaurant feels. It's refreshing to have a meal where you don't feel like you're sitting in the next table's lap. The food was perfect. I especially loved the hamachi crudo, the whole roasted eggplant, and the sweet potatoes. Additionally, the katsu fish sandwich is the best fish sandwich I've ever had. This spot is in the Newton occupying what was previously known as Southern Rail. Esthetically not much has changed, big bar and great patio. The menu is diverse, we tried the Rice Paper "Dumplings" which were interesting and better described as a spring roll. The Yakisoba was flavorful but definitely lacked yakisoba. The pizza (yup they serve pizza too) was fresh and delicious. Service was great. read more

The ambience and the weather was so perfect yesterday evening for our family to enjoy a wonderful dinner at this artsy beautiful location that is part outdoors. We loved most of the items we ordered The steak cooked rare...definitely not a steak house quality steak but it was flavorful and the side sauces and herbs took it to another level. The fish katsu was crispy and fresh and deliciously seasoned. The fries were just okay for me but my boys finished them...crispy and seasoned. We had the wings, the mushroom pizza & the Yaki Soba. Our favorite thing was the service, we have little ones and our server, Eric was amazing with them and considerate of dining with kids. The ambiance provides the perfect balance, offering a casual and inviting atmosphere with an upscale feeling. It's sophisticated enough for a date night, yet relaxed enough for a casual weeknight dinner. I have to give a huge shout-out to the server, Eric. He was absolutely amazing! He was incredibly helpful navigating the menu, answering all our questions with patience and enthusiasm. His attentiveness throughout the evening ensured we had everything we needed. I'm extremely disappointed with the way this establishment handled our recent attempt to schedule a happy hour. Back in October, we had a fantastic experience here, and we were looking forward to hosting another happy hour. However, things took a sharp turn for the worse this time around. From the beginning, we made it very clear that this would be a small gathering. Yet, when we tried to finalize plans, they suddenly imposed a minimum food requirement and essentially told us they couldn't accommodate us unless we prepaid. This was never mentioned during our initial discussions, and it felt like they didn't value us as returning customers. What's most upsetting is how they seemed perfectly fine helping us the first time, but now their tone and policies have completely changed. We'll never come back, and I would caution anyone planning an event here to proceed with extreme care. Make sure to get every detail in writing, or you might find yourself blindsided like we did. read more

I had an outstanding experience at Tesora, and I must give a special shout-out to our waiter, Eric! The ambiance of the restaurant is a beautiful blend of urban charm and natural elements, with lovely trees and a cozy wooden decor that sets the perfect mood. Eric greeted us warmly and took the time to ask about my drink preferences. When I mentioned I enjoy refreshing and spicy drinks, he enthusiastically suggested the "Perla Special"--named after me! It was a fantastic cocktail made with fig vodka, and I absolutely loved it. Throughout the meal, Eric was personable and clearly knowledgeable about the menu. He recommended a mushroom pasta in a white sauce that was absolutely to die for. For dessert, we indulged in tiramisu, which was the perfect sweet ending to a wonderful meal. The next restaurant from the makers of Otro, Tesota is a fun variation of comfort food. High quality dishes in amazing flavor combinations. My taste buds were not disappointed. My only possible suggestion is to have more/add more/more and more. I especially liked the small dishes to share. Who knew that potatoes could be so yummy with crème fraiche. Staff are friendly and reassuring. Love the location next to Changing Hands but if I don't make it over there because I am enjoying Tesota, well that's ok also . (PS the chocolate cake did make me stray from my diet. I had no regrets.) read more
