Great spot to visit in Bar Harbor after a day of hiking in Acadia! We got oysters, fish and chips, and lobster cargot to share. The oysters were so fresh and definitely a highlight. The lobster cargot was delicious too, but I wish the fish and chips was a bit crispier. Overall food was great and the service was pretty quick too! The restaurant is spacious so we got seated quickly. It's a great cozy spot for dinner and I recommend adding it to your list if you're in the area! read more

We were visiting Bar Harbor for a few days and stopped by Testa's midweek. We don't have a reservation, but they were able to seat 6 of us since it was around 7:30pm. We were in Bar Harbor for a short while and the restaurant caught my eye due to how long it's been around. Really wish I had gone elsewhere though because the food was quite mediocre. We had the mussels, oyster Rockefeller, lobster cargot, coconut shrimp, and the fish n chips. The carrot was easily the best of the bunch with the mussels coming in second, although the mussels were quite small and missing a bit of extra love. I'd suggest skipping the coconut shrimp as there isn't any coconut flavor and the blueberry sauce is overpowering. The Rockefeller is passable but not something I'd order again as they make it with too much cheese and no spinach. Lastly, the fish and chips are just okay. Most of the chips aren't crispy and haddock nuggets don't match up to a nice hunk of cod fish. read more

I've never heard of this restaurant till before and after a Maine Acadia Tour I went with my boyfriend and I. We saw this restaurant and told each other we go ahead and try this place for early lunch. Boy, we were not disappointed. Our waitress was always kind and made suggestion to the menu. Polite and so upbeat! We were seated upstairs and the seats were very accommodating So we ordered ourselves Lobster Mac n cheese and Rasta Pasta. My boyfriend loved it. However, I felt indifferent about the Rasta Pasta. I was expecting the sauce to be a creamy jerk sauce rather than a light creamy tomato sauce. I had my fair share of Rasta Pasta before but I guess my expectations were kind of high. Perhaps it's their version but in any case the food overall is good. Most other restaurants were telling us over an hour wait for dinner on a Sunday night. We added our name to the wait list at Testa's and only waited 10 min for a table! I loved their blueberry lemon drop martini! I was wanting a non-seafood dish and they offered to make a chicken Alfredo dish and it was also very good! Perfect place for lunch during our visit to Bar Harbor. Blueberry mojitos are a must! We couldn't decide on our appetizer so our lovely server Yolanda chose for us. Just not a great experience at all. The food was not great. We ordered from all sections of the menu. The only thing decent was the fresh oysters and the sautéed mussels. The service was not well supported. Lots of staff around and not a busy night but lacking basic things like water fills, check-ins on food, plates cleared, and the check system with table-side payment at the which I have issues with for a restaurant with options with plate prices like this. Our third trip to Bar Harbor in 15 years. Clearly, a lot has changed. Enjoyed Testa's years ago so decided to go with an old reliable. Excellent choice! Enjoyed a blueberry peach margarita and my wife loves the Blueberry Ale. Mussels în scampi sauce -- oh, that sauce for dipping delicious bread! We split the entree of Seafood Alfredo. Perfect al dente noodles with a rich cheesy sauce . . . even had lobster meat! An added bonus was our server, Zhenia. So attentive and friendly. Even made sure our table was secluded from others so our two Havanese dogs were calm and happy through our entire meal. I had the not yet famous clam chowder and I won't likely add to its chances of fame. It was a thick potato soup with flour chunks that hadn't gotten blended, some little clam and bacon bits with a really strange half-moon shaped soggy bread/cracker. Temperature was like warm. My wife had coconut shrimp with the blueberry Thai chili sauce and it was good. Server was not very attentive had to be flagged down to even get her tea refilled and no Coke products. Atmosphere was fine though tables are really close together. And the majority of seating is on second floor and only elevator is in courtyard which we didn't find until after lunch and had to wait while the liquor delivery was finished as it also serves as the freight elevator. read more

I was very disappointed, service was lacking, ordered a beer flight when we sat down. Finished the flight after appetizer, never was offered or had the opportunity to get a beer, same with husband empty beer glass throughout dinner. The dinner was awful, we got had lobster rolls, that is NOT the place to get a lobster roll. I feel bad for anyone who gets their lobster roll for their "first lobster roll". It would scare them from trying them ever again somewhere else. It was very rubbery, dry, and just tasted old, even the butter tasted off. I thought of telling the waiter, but between the lack of service, and i was hungry, and honestly wanted to finish up and move on. Looking back I should have said something, I felt sick after. If you also visit in October and lobster is still in-season, try their seafood Alfredo and steamed lobster. The scallop in the pasta served to us is cooked just right. I bet that scallops went to gym a lot, their meat is tight and bouncy. The steam lobster just keeps all the freshness inside, no seasoning is needed. read more

We didn't have high expectations because it seemed like another typical touristy restaurant on the Main Street through Bar Harbor. Our server was friendly and she checked on us frequently. We started with the calamari that included some tempura veggies and they were delicious. I had the Lobster Tacos and my wife had the Lobster Roll. Both were pretty good but I didn't love that the lobster tacos had blueberries on them. It seems like Maine restaurants are so carried away with putting blueberries on everything. That was probably our only complaint though! The dining room wasn't the cleanest and definitely shows it's age but it wasn't horrible. We were here twice. Lobster rolls for lunch were really good. The Prosecco on tap was really nice and the Blueberry Ale is a nice change. The calamari appetizer was amazing - the calamari was fresh, and the accompanying vegetables were well fried and had a good variety where there was something for everyone. The clam chowder and grilled cheese meal afterwards was a bit of a letdown. The chowder needed a little more pepper, and while it was delightfully creamy, there were multiple large pieces of fat that were a bit off putting. This place is not terrible. The service was amazing. They sat us at a cute space on the second floor where we could see the ocean the entire time and our waiter was more than accommodating. The food was good but the prices are WAYYYYYY too expensive for what it is. The portions are small and use cheap ingredients but charge 5 star restaurant prices. We got the lobster roll, half a dozen oysters and the clam chowder fries. With tip our bill was $100 that's robbery. We had to get food afterwards because we were still hungry afterwards!! The lobster roll doesn't even come with fries is comes with chips (which were delicious) but if I'm spending $100 I want to at least leave the dinner full. Stopped by for a late breakfast. The Eggs Benedict w/ Avocado and Bacon was amazing. Toast was so good, seemingly grilled in the bacon fat. Home fries were crisp and tasty. Eggs were perfect and the bacon just put it over the top. Omelette was nicely done as well. You can tell the cook staff knows how to make a proper breakfast. Coffee was just what I needed.
