We bought a Sierra Denali from this dealership that they didn't have on the lot. However we finalized the numbers and signed the paper and gave the deposit. With a lot of the negative reviews I was skeptical bringing my car to this location. But with my check engine light on I did not want to chance driving long distances so this was my closest location. Everyone was very friendly even while being quite busy the morning I stopped in. I did have an appointment and was helped immediately. They were upfront and honest about the possible all day wait for a point to point inspection because of all the appointments and drop ins they were getting which I appreciated!! They did the inspection and called me to let me know of what they found before starting any work. Thankfully what needed to be done was still covered by warranty and they got everything completed very quick after the call to inform me of the issues. If you ever see a guy name Robert tell him excuse me, I would rather speak to some else...this guy will tell you ima so you a favor but he is just trying to get in your pockets....he also mentioned to me he doesn't like dealing with black people but mind you is a black man and told me he makes $83/hr and don't have to be up there which is weird but they call him the financial manager but nothing about him is professional. They have a general manager there and his name is Lupe who told me the bank charging me a fee to get the car which was bogus when I called my bank lender. I put down $2000 but for my monthly payments was as if I paid $600 bucks. They try they best to run game on you to put money in they pockets but I caught them and they got mad were very unprofessional. Avoid this dealership. This business is the gift that keeps giving of all negative experiences. After some internet shopping, all of the dealerships start calling us for our business. One of the calls was from Geraldo Cortes at Texan GMC. He identified himself as the Sales Manager . After learning about exactly which truck that we wanted, Geraldo said that they have this exact truck in stock, BRAND NEW. TO be SOLD AS NEW. This means sometime later in the story. He quoted us a price, for a brand new truck, which included some rebates in which we qualified. At that point, we also told him that we would NOT be financing this truck. We made an appointment to go see the truck and when we arrived at the dealership we were quickly greeted by Geraldo who then introduced us to Mike Perez, internet Sales Manager. We went into Mike's office were we began to discuss the truck that we wanted and the price that we were quoted by Geraldo. We informed him that our first priority was to see the truck and drive the truck to insure that it was exactly what we wanted. He asked us to fill out a form that included my Social Security number which struck me as odd since we were not financing the truck. Later I found out that despite the fact that we were paying cash they pulled my credit without my permission. A lot of time went by which we found odd but didn't raise concern just yet. Mike said that the truck was being washed and ready for us to drive. We wondered why this was taking so long if the truck is brand new sitting on the lot why can't we just walk over to it, get in and drive. Finally, Mike was told the truck was ready so we walked outside and this is where the experience went all downhill, fast. Mike then casually mentioned : you know this truck is used? What? I was furious. They were clearly going to sale this used truck that the General Manager, William Juarez, had been driving. This truck had over 1500 miles on it. CLEARLY illegal to sale a used truck as new. NOT ok, by any standards and clearly a violation. I was so visibly furious so Mike asked that we speak with Geraldo in his office so we did. Geraldo went on to say...almost in his exact words...well, usually people do not mind when there is a few miles on the truck. A few miles? That was not a few miles. It wasn't your typical 12 miles, 20 miles, 50 miles etc. It was 1500 miles! USED truck. That made me even more furious and when I told Geraldo I would report him to GM he stood up and said "this conversation is over and get out of our dealership". We also found out from Mike that Geraldo is NOT the Sales Manager as he classified himself as on the phone he is in the finance department. His tactic was a clear bait and switch. So, there you go. Texan GMC Dealership in Humble Texas My husband, Johnny L. Estes, purchased a 2018 GMC Sierra 3500 gas powered truck from Texan GMC Buick in Humble Texas in mid March. He went to Texan GMC after speaking to a sales person by telephone regarding a 3/4 ton truck. When he got to the dealership, he was told they didn't have any 3/4 tons but had this 1 ton truck. We have to have a heavy duty truck as he works out of state and pulls our 38 foot 5th wheel RV as his home away from home. He was certain he did not want another diesel or another Ford. He researched the GMC's and liked what he found. He traded his 2011 F250 Diesel truck and purchased the Sierra 3500 listed above in the subject line. For the most part, he was happy with the truck, it included a spray in bed liner, but he had to have the 5th wheel hitch installed, as well as get the windows tinted and added a chrome tool box and then purchased Weathertek floor mats as well. He was happy,until last week, when he left work last Tuesday, April 17th, the truck started and as he was pulling out of the parking lot, there was very loud knocking coming from the engine, and then the engine died and would not restart. Thanks to OnStar, they got a wrecker to tow the truck to the closest GMC dealer to where he is working outside of New Orleans, Louisiana. The truck is currently at Mossy GMC in New Orleans, Louisiana and John has been talking with Eddie in the service department. While we know the repairs are being made under the warranty, we are not happy with what is being done. First and foremost, we purchased a brand new, heavy duty truck for a reason, we need to make sure we have a suitable vehicle to pull our RV. This is not a recreational item for us, this is John's home while at work, and his work takes him to many different places around the country. With a blown head on an engine with less than 2300 miles that we have only had for one month, we have serious concerns going forward that any repair to the head is not going to be sufficient. We have shared the information we have been given from Eddie at Mossy to other mechanics we are acquainted with, and all of them have said the same thing, if the head blew while the truck was running, there are metal shavings down in the engine, these shavings will eventually result in causing other issues and there is no way to tell when future issues will arise. We have also been told that if this was not a warranty job, and we brought this vehicle into any shop, we would be told we had to replace the engine. Now, with this said, we are being told the head is being repaired and it "should be fine". This is simply not going to work for us. In good faith we purchased a brand new vehicle from GM. We expected to be purchasing a vehicle that would last for a reasonable period of time before having any issues. This is simply not the case with this truck and to expect us to be satisfied with a patch repair is, to say the least, very disappointing. I personally have been a very loyal GM consumer for many years, and having convinced John to switch sides and have this happen, it simply embarrassing. We purchased a brand new truck, and that is what we expect to get. This one, with a repaired head is not acceptable. We are paying good money, and put a good down payment on this truck, and quite honesty we feel like we are being taken advantage of at this point. In addition, it would be nice to be able to speak to someone at GM who is part of the decision making process on our vehicle. No one other than Eddie at Mossy GMC has spoken to John, and to be honest, I am very disappointed in the lack of customer concern at this point. I also know from personal experience, based on the diagnostic emails that came from OnStar, that Texan GMC has been alerted to issues going on with this truck and they have yet to reach out to us. With the poor experience we had with the salesman, I guess this is to be expected. I have additional information, including the OnStar diagnostic emails that I can share with you if you are interested. In the meantime, I would greatly appreciate it, if someone who has the authority to make decisions with regard to this situation would give my husband a call. I know GM is a very big company and I'm sure there are many people who complain about things all the time, it is not our intent to be ugly or disrespectful, we are simply asking for the same level of respect in return. I just had a horrible experience at the Texan GMC service department. I have a 2014 GMC Sierra that is less than a year old with about 30,000 miles on it. The AC stopped working. I brought it into be fixed since it is under warranty. Mind you, it's July and in Texas (100+ degrees every day). They told me they wouldn't be able to even look at the vehicle until Monday (6 days) and they had a waiting list of about 50 people. I asked if they could provide a rental car for me (which they have done in the past) and they basically laughed at me. They were not even close to customer friendly and we're not willing to work with me. I can understand that they are busy but there is always a solution to a problem. I would give this a no star if it would let me, i normally don't write reviews but due to the multiply time this has happened i figured a would now. A few months ago my wife brought her car in for an oil changes at her 30k mile and the service writer told her she needed to get all kinds of stuff done to the point she called me freaking out that it was gonna cost $1200.00 on top of the oil change. I talked with the guy "Travis" and told him to change the oil that all that other nonsense wasn't needed. My wife took her car back today and on the way says she hopes she doesn't get the same guy as last time. Sure enough she does not a big deal just drop it off and go, well he signs her in and proceeded to tell her she didn't get the 30k package and she declines it AGAIN. He then moves forward with signing her in and says how she needs to get an Alignment when she get new tire so she does. "Not to my knowledge". So we leave knowing that she called ahead and had it scheduled to be completed and was told it would take an hour, not a big deal so we ran a couple errands. 3 hours later we came back and they told us it would be "About another 1 1/2 hours" before it would be completed. After i told Travis the service writer that she was told "by the person who set it up for her to come in "Travis" it would take and hour he denied saying this and didn't know who would say such a thing that an oil change only takes over an hour to complete. So we leave and then my wife tells me how he told her that she needed to get the alignment done, i dam near lost it. I called Travis and told him to pull the alignment off the work to be performed and he tried to tell me that it needed to be done. The largest tire installer DISCOUNT TIRE don't even offer alignment because it doesn't need to be done and here they are trying to tell her it does. like i said this is the SECOND time they tried to take advantage of my wife and sale her a bunch of stuff she doesn't need. Then afterwards called me to tell me my timing chain needed replacing and that it was not covered by my extended warranty. Absolutely appalled by the service my husband received today from the Service Department. I need to get my 2018 GMC serviced and called ahead to verify if they had a loaner car available. After speaking to Anthony he verified that as long as the car was under warranty they would provide a loan car, even send my husband an email stating that as well. They said they would look at the car in the morning but I could drop it off this evening. I drove 45 minutes to the dealership only to be told that they would not provide a longer car until they ran a diagnostic on the car in the morning which was the complete opposite of what we was told on the phone. Wow! Do not be drawn into the dealership with false claims of great deals and discounts on their new inventory. They have masetered the bait and switch (the action (generally illegal) of advertising goods that are an apparent bargain, with the intention of substituting inferior or more expensive goods.) and all but admitted that they do it. The sales manager blamed it on the company who makes their web pages first, tried to come up with a way to explain why their ad had a vehicle for 31K with the VIN, (we found that vehicle on our own) and said we were ready to buy, they said it was going to be 37K. When pressed the sales manager explained we were not eligible for any discounts, even though the ad says, 4K in dealer discounts. The sales manager said it was a play on words and when I explained to him that no one could possibly meet every criteria because once you get one discount, your ineligble for another, he told me to read the fine print on their web site that absolves them from any misunderstandings. Perhaps the most frustrating part was how they talked to my wife and I as if they were annoyed that we were even bringing this up after driving 3 hrs to purchase this vehicle. The sales manager got further annoyred when we refused to buy the vehicle after he gave us a SPECIAL, $500 off. Buyer beware, its a scam, DO NOT BELIEVE the hype. Expect to pay full price no matter what their ad says. The sales manager was unable to convince us to buy they vehicle and eventually got up and walked away. Based on the two experiences i have had with the parts and service department i feel there is a huge lack of organization, knowledge and customer care. I feel the environment is in need of updating and the service representatives are in need of training for pricing, manufacturer incentives and customer relations. First experience was when i went to purchase an in stock item using the GMC rewards voucher. Only 1 of 5 people i encountered was able to get things going, it took almost 50 minutes to buy the item that i had called about and already reserved to pick up. I believe training is needed for all employees that interact with any customer to prevent a customer from hearing " man i don't know, go ask so and so" over and over again. The service adviser area is extremely cluttered and unprofessional. Customers have to literally squeeze past one another due to the confined space that have 4 service advisers crammed into it. Service techs are in and out, doors are inches away from customers backs when at a desk and it just seems like there should be more pride and privacy when customers have to review what they are being told. Standing there i over heard arguments between customers and service guys, phones being slammed down because the adviser was overwhelmed and service techs literally saying "hey man try to sell this before the end of the year so we can get rid of these parts". To top it all off at the time i was there only one person was able to print me an invoice because no one else knew how. The areas of both the parts and service advisers were filthy, boxes everywhere, papers all over the place, ripped chairs, shelving that is either empty or full of junk. I feel it is disappointing when a customer has to come in and the conversation that is had with another customer is about how trashy the place looks. Second experience was on the phone. I called in to verify some pricing and to set an appointment to have services done however, i was disconnected 3 times then on hold for almost 5 minutes. When someone finally answered i was able to ask my questions but was unable to have them answered correctly. I was told different prices that were almost double what i was originally estimated. When i asked why there was such a difference i was told the service adviser's were not answering the phones and the service receptionist that i was disconnected from was guessing what the cost may be..... i asked what were my options to get someone who can actually provide the information i was needing. Call back later or come in was the reply. I was told i can be sent to their phones but since she is the only one answering, i would just get the same information......so chances are it would be a waste of time. It is very disappointing to feel that i cannot depend on the people who i am supposed to trust with my vehicle and time. read more

I took my vehicle in yesterday for a recall issue and today my vehicle is inoperable. Three times I attempted to leave the dealership after they called and said I could pick up my truck. Well I'm home via their shuttle services. I can't believe three times today within one hour they sent me on my way and I couldn't even drive a block from the dealership. They are telling me I need a new transmission with a price tag of 3800 dollars. How was I able to leave Pep Boys after getting my oil changed and drive to Texan GMC for the recall issue when I can't get off their lot after they "fixed" the recall. Now all of a sudden my engine light is on and I can't drive...TEXAN GMC IF YOU THINK I'm falling for this scam...YOU ARE SADLY MISTAKEN...Did the recall have anything to do with my transmission? I should have read previous reviews. Texan GMC isn't capable of handling their own recalls. I'm glad I took my vehicle to Pep Boys first and I spoke with the technician regarding the condition of my truck upon arriving and departing their establishment yesterday and they are just as surprised as I am regarding the condition my vehicle is in just after a hour of leaving their establishment. I received a call Wednesday before July 4 that my recall ignition was in and call to make appointment. I called back and spoke with someone in the service department to bring in the next morning, and I would get my car done within a couple of hours. I showed up and was told they were too busy. I set up an appointment for the next Tuesday at 8:30, I was there in pently of time, i had a question on another possible recall and then a whine i was hearing that was getting very loud. A service person went on a test drive with me and said it was a wheel bearing. I told Cal in service that while my ignition was being changed to let me know an estimate on the bearing. I waited a couple of hours, the courtesy van took me home for a while when I called a couple of hours later was told the car still had not been taken in. I didnt have a good feeling about that, had a neighbor take me back, i waited another 3 1/2 hours. Cal brought me a estimate for the bearing, Told him I will have to make another appoitment at another time, just wanted to finish the itinitial work and go home. 15 min later he bought my car around but ignition had not been done at all. I started to leave after making another appointment for what was suppose to be done. I went back in and asks for the service manager. He said he was sorry and would get me a car, we agreed I would bring my car back the next morning. I took back. Office that loans the cars would not be in for 30 min. I waited an hour and went back to Cal and he said he told them 20 minutes before to set up car. I was given rental papers for the car but was told I would not be charged. I was very irratated at that point, crossed out and initialed the rental paragraph. I left, but went back and told them I wanted something saying I would not be charged. The service manager finally came out on wrote and itintial I would not be charged, even thought the only paperwork they had clearly state this is rental, also $1.00 auth was put though my bank. I finally got my car back with the new iginition, no apology from Cal. I took my car to another car repair shop was able to get my bearing and hub done quickly and 150.00 less then dealership. After several calls to Patricia whom identified herself as the Internet Manager about stock G4220 which is a 2018 4x4 Sierra listed on there internet for a sales price of $35,450. She did not return and calls which I thought was strange. I specifically asked her when we did speak on the sales price to confirm there were no dealer add on she assured me there wasn't. Well after no response I was contacted by Aaron Candanosa about a week later with Texan GMC, Once again I tried to get a out the door pricing and specifically stated with no dealer add on's on this same vehicle which Aaron said is still in stock. Received the pricing from him for a the sales price and a out the door price of $39,990. The numbers don't add up and more importantly the $1795 for dealer add on's was never listed on the quote. Contacted Aaron several more times and he was very nice but let me know this is how Texan GMC does business which is very deceiving and inappropriate to the consumers. I would not recommend this place for servicing or either having them checking your vehicle out if you have a problem, especially if you have extended warranty,(they made plenty money off mines) I took it in for jerking when i stop and go in traffic, they gave me a long list of problem they said was wrong with my car even a oil leak which I know I didn't have, it was estimate around 4700.00 so the warranty people wanted to come out to inspect so things changed all of a sudden they said they thought I had a oil leak coming from the timing chain cover they had my car for a week i picked it up drove it for 2 days my ac started acting up. my fan continue to run after i cut the car off, take it back again they keep it a week again they say it was my temperature sensor and it was loosing freon, but it was blowing cold air before i took it back, picked my car up drove a few days my air not getting cold like it was before i took it to shop called dealer they said bring it back in, i refuse to take my vehicle their again, I told my mom and son not to use them which they have in the past and i will not recommend anybody to go there. To surprise when I went to the waiting area, there were people there that had been waiting since 9:30 a.m. and it was already almost noon time. So I started to wonder how long I had to be there for. After an hour and a half wait my truck was "ready", I payed and signed the invoice indicating the oil change and tire rotation had been done. However, when I went to pick my truck and checked some markings I had previously made on the tires and I discovered that the marked tires were exactly in the same position when I dropped the truck off for service. So, obviously the tires had not been rotated, as I was told. I complaint to the service advisor and he went to the mechanic who admitted the tires had not been rotated. First, it took an hour and a half to do a oil change and after all that wait they did not rotate the tires. This is inadmissible !!! but not the first time I had problems at this dealership. Even when I bought that truck they tried to rip me off by an extra $10,000 for options I had not even approved. Needless to say that this will be the last time I take my truck there, even if I have to drive to a faster location, but this dealership will not see me anymore. They don't even deserve a one start rating, the worst service and treatment that a customer can receive!!!. read more

Giving it 2 stars only because the actual purchase of the vehicle was rather pleasant and painless. Unfortunately, 3 stars are deducted due to the absolutely horrible service department at Texan GMC. If the service techs don't know how to balance a tire or even return the right vehicle back to its owner then you are probably in the wrong line of work. Go anywhere but here for service! read more

Purchased 2015 Acadia. No issues with purchase. Sales price on SUV was easy. Took a little negotiation on trade but got me where I felt it was fair. Gave 4 star because the method they gave me the price. They showed me the price of vehicle, trade and then total with TTL. Problem was that when I did the math the TTL was way off. Showed the sales person and it was corrected. Other than that they did great. Several people come up to my 5 year old with crayons, candy etc. Finance person got me in and out. I will shop here again. read more

I've said it before and I'll say it again, as long as John Bishop is there, I will continue to have my car serviced at Texan GMC Buick. It's going on 4 years since my first visit and I wouldn't go anywhere other than there for the simple fact John makes every trip worth it. He can turn a potentially bad situation by the way he exerts his calmness and quickly puts your mind at ease. read more
