This was my second time dining at Texas de Brazil. My first visit was a 4-star visit. My second and more recent visit was a 2 star visit, purely due to the poor service. Average them out and you get 3 stars. First, I love the concept of a Brazilian steakhouse. Probably the best salad bar known to mankind (with a killer lobster bisque, salad, smoked salmon, prosciutto, fresh mozzarella balls, freshly grated parmigiano, delicious cheesy potatoes, shrimps, etc.), my wife is actually perfectly happy paying $22 for just the salad bar and skipping the meat altogether. I'm personally a meat lover, so I try my best to try all 16 types of meat. Compared to Rodizio Grill downtown, Texas de Brazil has better quality meat, and you get a bigger slice of meat each time. The meat isn't as good as Fogo de Chao, but it's still pretty darn good. The sides of fried banana and cheesy bread are also incredible. The thing that really ruined my experience this most recent visit was the availability of meat. Usually at a Brazilian steakhouse, the meat servers come by so frequently that you can't eat fast enough. This was not the case at Texas de Brazil. Our table of 6 was seated in the corner of the restaurant facing out towards the street. We were apparently invisible to the guys walking around with the skewers of meat, because they continually skipped our table. I tried to flag them down, but they for whatever reason wouldn't make eye contact with us. We actually went 15 minutes between meats at one point, which is unheard of in a Brazilian steakhouse. We asked our waitress three different times to ask for the meat guys to come by, and on the third time, I saw our waitress walk straight to one of the meat guys and point to our table. Shockingly, the guy proceeded to skip our table again. At this point I'd had enough and called the manager over, after which the meat servers finally started coming by our table. By then though, we were already 1 hour into our meal and we were more or less filled up on all of their other foods. I probably had 1/3~1/2 the amount of meat that I would have eaten had their service been typical. It would have been nice had the manager offered to give us the salad bar only price, since we didn't really get much meat, but they charged us the full cost anyways (which at $45 is not cheap). We made reservations for our son's 13th birthday to eat on Saturday . We got there and there was a line out the door. We thought it was people who were walk-ins waiting for a table, but no, some of these people said they had been there since 5:30 for reservations (it was now past 8:00)! We left once it became clear that all of these people waiting had reservations ahead of us and our reservation might realistically never happen. The place closes at 10PM and multiple parties said they had been there for over 2 hours. They said ok bye! See you next time! As if there will be one for us after this experience. The manager rented out almost the entire restaurant for a wedding party and completely ignored the impact that would have on their customers who had reservations. I don't know if this was a deal made because someone paid extra for it, but I cannot believe they didn't know about this party when we made our reservations on OpenTable earlier in the morning. Only after someone requested did the manager come up to address what was growing into a full blown angry mob of people who had been sold out of their reservations. He acted like there was no issue. It was clear by everyone's expressions that worked there though that they knew someone had totally messed up, but they all played dumb. No apologies, no vouchers for next time if you leave now. Nothing, they just made it clear the party was priority and they didn't care how many reservations they blew. I felt bad for the staff for a brief minute because their manager set them up to deal with all of these people congregating at the door for hours past their reservation times but they were far from sympathetic or helpful. I hope they made enough money from that wedding to offset the loss of future business from the dozens of reservations they completely disrespected. Whoever owns this location should look into why their managers don't prioritize respecting their customers. Don't let the sales of this party fool you into thinking your team is doing a good job with this location. Poor customer service shows in sales at scale and if this is normal, this place will be out of business soon. Will never eat here again. read more

This restaurant was pretty disappointing to our party. There were a lot of food options and we enjoyed the salad bar but the meat seemed to be either overdone or extremely rare. The filet came out completely dark brown. I also think the ambiance is not what it used to be. The decor seems old and is not keeping up with other restaurants nearby. I placed large catering order from Texas de Brazil two days ahead of time. I did come for pick up a bit early on Black Friday. I asked the hostess to check on my order and she said it will be 10 more minutes. 20 minutes later I asked about my order again. The hostess went to the back and said they are working on my order. When I asked how long, she said she did not know and it was not her workstation. At this point, a manager Brett Pate came over and asked what the issue was. I mentioned that no one could tell me how long it will be to get my order. He said he would check on it and to stop "harassing" his staff. Yes, he used the word "harassing". At the same time another customer Sean was waiting for his to-go order and experienced the same treatment of being ignored and unappreciated. During the over 25 minutes I waited for my order, manager Brett was standing by the hostess stand doing absolutely nothing, until it was time to be completely disrespectful to me, even though I am a woman twice his age, just asking staff to check on my order, which should be part of their job. Summary: food is good, service is terrible and it starts with an example the manager sets. I will take my business to Cameron Mitchell next time. read more

Tonight we had a big party of people and thankfully at the END of the dinner notice a centipede in the lobster bisque. When the manager came over, he was very rude. This was the first Brazilian steakhouse that I've been too. So needless to say it was an experience. As soon as I heard of restaurant that brings out slabs of meat and gives you as much as you like, I was sold. I had to try it. The concept is simple. You start at the salad bar or cold bar, I forget what they call it. But you can get as much as you like there. And their selection and assortment of items to choose from there is pretty huge. Also they have soups. Like their Lobster Bisque, which is the best lobster bisque I HAVE EVER TASTED. Not even close. Make sure to grab a bowl. Or two in my case. Now to the main part: THE MEAT! They give you these circular cards. One Side is green and One Side is red. If the green Side is up, servers will approach you with whatever meat they have and ask if you want some. If you do they will give you a piece or cut. The servers are constantly roaming at all times, so your plate will be full with more protein than you can eat in a matter of minutes. So make sure to flip that card to red when you get enough. And the meat taste so good. Everything is seasoned to perfection. From Brazilian Sausage, Bacon Wrapped Filet, Chicken, lamb chops and much more. Also they serve mashed potatoes and Fried bananas to your table when you are getting your meats. The place is dimly lit. And everything is set out and presented nicely. You can immediately tell soon arrival that this is a upscale high quality restaurant. So overall the place is pretty solid. It is about 50 bucks a plate however, which honestly isn't a bad price considering all the food you get and high quality meats. I'd recommend this to anyone. Great for dates and celebrations. Only thing I really don't like is that if you are picky about how your meat is cooked, you really don't have a choice. It is a unique setting. At a similar restaurant, a small piece(3-4 bites) of every meat was served. Here, too many of the meats were carved off in thin strips. At this price, I shouldn't need tongs to grab strips of meat. Like the filet, a decent portion should just be slid off of the skewer. And the servers didn't seem to look for the red or green token. Loved everything I got at Texas de Brazil. So many options and you'll definitely leave stuffed. The cheese bread was definitely my favorite and mashed potatoes we're so good i couldn't stop eating them. If you're looming for a specific meat such as the bbq ribs (which are delish) just ask any of the guys carrying the meat sticks and they'll grab it for you. My parent's were visiting Columbus, and we wanted to do something for a special early birthday celebration for me. Texas de Brazil is always fun for the entertainment factor, but it has definitely gone downhill. Our waiter started off super slow with ordering drinks then bringing out the bread, mashed potatoes, and plantains. Thankfully, the salad bar was well stocked with a variety of Brazilian foods. The flavors were delicious. The meats were slow to come around and when they did come around, pieces were super fatty. Our waiter did recover and quickly asked for drink refills but by that point, we were halfway done our meal. This review went up to 3 stars since he did ask us if there was any meat we wanted, and he tracked the person down. We will not be back to this location. read more

My brother had his celebratory graduation dinner here. We decided to try it as our family has just started eating red meat again and can enjoy most of the items on the menu. We had never been to a Brazilian steakhouse before and only knew that the meat was brought around to us. We had a great experience! Not only was the steak and chicken delicious, the other fixing were great as well. There was a large salad bar that had so many veggies, cheeses, and toppings in a beautiful presentation. We chose your restaurant to celebrate my son's birthday. I made reservations on open table about 10 days prior and I indicated we were celebrating a birthday and would like any special touches that you offer. Upon approaching the front doors of the restaurant tonight, I was absolutely disgusted and shocked that you would allow the first impression for your guests to be doors that haven't been cleaned in what looked like months, maybe years. Unfortunately the inside wasn't much better in appearance. The hostess stand was covered with open cans of Red Bull and the overall feeling was just not clean. The hostess was friendly and quickly addressed the fact that we were celebrating a birthday. I confirmed with her that the staff would do whatever it is they do to celebrate and she said yes. We were then taken to a table in the back room of the restaurant. It was very dark and after looking around I noticed the large overhead light fixture was burnt out. This room was as dirty as everywhere else. At this point I was getting very irritated but chose not to say anything and jeopardize our celebration. The waitress came and asked or for our drink orders and we had to ask for a cocktail menu. She brought one menu that four of us had to share and use cell phone flashlights to read. She came back a short time later for the drink order. First question was about whether or not a drink was sweet - her response was "I don't know". The next question was about another drink and the response was the same. We got through ordering drinks and were told we could go to the salad bar. The cold bar was fine but everything on the hot bar was empty and had food slopped everywhere. The waitress dropped off mashed potatoes (no meat came for quite a while and the potatoes were then cold) and bananas and I told her it was so dark I couldn't see. She looked around and asked if I wanted another candle. After what seemed like an eternity, servers with meat made their way to the back room. Not their fault but the quality of the meat was horrible with a lot of fat and gristle. We finished and she asked about dessert which was my first clue that she either forgot the birthday or wasn't told by the hostess. At this point I was too over it to say anything. She proceeded to bring a dessert tray and hold up each piece stating what it was. We passed on dessert and she brought the check. It was at this point that meat servers came back with items we had not been offered before - there were no takers as we were ready to leave. The grand finale was a handwritten note on the receipt that said to please leave tip in cash if I could. Yes- I had to use a flashlight to even read it. A HORRIBLE experience and a terribly disappointing place for a celebration. I hope you get the facility cleaned up and train your servers. We will not be back and I will spread the word. I usually go to the bar and eat by myself, I'll get the same waiter, Brandon, I think is his name, the one with the missing tooth, but he's great- the salad bar is on point- the bacon is superior. They must have a high turnover because there are different GMs every few months. Also there is no point to the flip cards- the servers don't even pay attention to them. The food here is great......know that there is a lot of contact with a "salad bar" and contact with servers over and above a normal restaurant with gauchos serving meat at your table. We didn't care at all and enjoyed our visit completely.....just wanted people to be aware. The food was phenomenal! Every type of meat we had was juicy and seasoned perfectly. I personally like rate meat and they accommodated my preference. Do not pass up the chimichirri located at the salad bar as an accompaniment to your meat.....it was excellent!!! Mmm... Lots and lots of meat! Some cuts are definitely better than others. The second time they brought the lamb was much better than the first time. It was a lot more tender and flavorful. A lot of the meat is really salty though. My favorite was the house cut, the picanha. Most of the time I got it, it was rare or medium rare. Some of the meat is cooked inconsistently. You'll get everything from rare to medium well. Their chimichurri sauce is good. Nice way to accentuate the flavors of the meat. Service... I did wish they took some plates away a bit more frequently. I had a pool of meat juice on my plate so I didn't want my food sitting in it too long just so that it would stay hot longer. read more

I had Ceasar salad, green beans, two delicious slices of salami with a creamy slice of smoked gouda. I then had so many options for melt in your mouth meats. Great food, good service, lots of choices. So walking in the first thing I noticed is the low lighting. I assume it's a mood setting, considering the price is set for dating and special occasions. The staff is patient, attentive, and friendly. Very necessary considering the gluttony that takes place at all-you-can-eat venues. The wine list is quite extensive, with plenty of choices for any wine enthusiast. What was missing was a list of meat selections being offered for the evening. Though the restaurant takes pride in their protein selection, the salad bar will more than satisfy anyone with vegetarian or vegan preferences. If not careful, one could make the classic rookie mistake and fill up on soup, salad, cheese, and cold salmon and shrimp - leaving little room for the meat that will be brought to you. As for the meat, it is delivered to your table as you give the signal by flipping your cardboard circle to the green side. There is no menu, as Gauchos bearing swords with cooked meat come to your table, with wares of chicken, pork, lamb and beef cooked to your preference and ready to serve. What's nice is the portions are small, so you can try everything offered. The dessert options looked nice, but I was not interested due to being overcome by the meat sweats. If I had to make a suggestion, it would be to have a list of meats being prepared so one can keep track of what they ate and/or liked. I'm sure there is an app for that, though. read more

Tonight a group of 21 of us decided to descend on Easton for dinner and chose Texas de Brazil. This was my first time here and I'd heard good things about the food. Being 100% carnivorous, I was excited about endless amounts of meat...though I heard rumor of an incredible salad bar that existed too. The salad bar was beautiful and filled with some yummy cheeses, an array of balsamic vinegars and oils, and every salad topping imaginable. I read the tips on Yelp beforehand that said not to fill up at the salad bar if you're going to be enjoying the meat, so I had a small sampling of a few items (by small I mean one full plate worth because, well, I love food) Meat Amusement Park was the term we decided best fit the carousel of skewered meat that rotated around the table; sausage, lamb, filet, chicken, bacon wrapped meats, brisket, and many more! The seasonings on the house specialty, the Brazilian steak, and the lamb lolli were incredible! One minute there was 3 or 4 guys serving different meats and then I'd look up to breathe between bites a few minutes later and they had gone only to return with more meat varieties just as I started making a dent in my initial meat piles. Was it a bit pricey? Yes. Was it delicious? Yes. Would I return on a regular basis? Probably not. But would I return for another special occasion? Absolutely! read more

The one star is for only one good thing that I can say about the place- overall the food was good. We got there at 7:10 for a 7:00 reservation. I thought we were still good because the instructions talked about a "15 minute grace period" and to only call if you were going to be more late than that. Yet after we checked in we had to wait around 35 minutes to get seated. I couldn't understand the majority of the meat servers. I have no idea why they couldn't speak up instead of whispering. With one of them I asked him to repeat what he had. I still couldn't understand him, so I just gave up and took a piece of the mystery meat anyway. Rodizio Grill had a nice system with the hour glass shaped blocks on the table to signal when you did or did not want to be offered food. This place did not have that, so it made it much harder for them to figure out which tables to go to and I saw a lot of confusion in the exchanges between the servers trying to figure out amongst themselves where they should go next. The bill was near $100 for two and that's with only drinking water. Wasn't worth that kind of money. As if the wait to get seated wasn't bad enough, the wait for our bill and getting checked out was even longer. We had a $20 off email deal as well as $10 in gift certificates. They wouldn't let us use both. I've always thought gift certificates are same as cash, but whatever. We gave them to the family at the next table seeing as though we wouldn't ever be coming back. I'm usually a very patient/tolerate/forgiving person, so for me to declare a restaurant as one visit and never again is extremely rare. read more

So my family and I came here from reviews of friends. I will say Food was really good, but our waitress sucks. As I set here it has been an hour got seated right away which was awesome. Waitress got the drink order, and we have not seen her since. I have had more refills of the same type of steaks and chicken then drinks. We got 1 drink. I will say The other Brazilian steak place had way better service then this place. I will not be back. Food is salty so one drink is not cutting it. If you're looking for a romantic place to go for your anniversary....keep looking. No privacy, all closely packed tables and chairs that you're unable to maneuver around to get to the salad bar. The floor was also really slippery for whatever reason. Our server was nice but was often MIA since the restaurant was too busy for the number of staff. The parmesan pork, barbecue chicken, and bacon wrapped filet were tasty, but the rest of the meats we tried were well done and extremely chewy. Sides were already cold before they hit the table. Someone at the table next to us was SHOUTING over the already loud restaurant, going into explicit detail about a medical procedure that he was about to have done. It's probably a good place to eat if you're looking for unlimited meat, but don't expect an elevated experience. Also prepare to drop at least $200. read more

One of the best experiences I've had at a Brazilian restaurant! The meat was delicious. The service was outstanding. I was very impressed that the managers were engaged with the customers as well as with the staff. I appreciated that they walked by the table to ask if there was anything that we needed. They specifically asked if there was a particular meat that we wanted to try or have an additional taste of. The salad bar is one of the best I've ever seen and I'm not a salad bar person at all. From pineapple to lobster bisque there are so many wonderful options! PT: mashed potatoes and bananas are served at the table to cleanse your pallet. A nice, upscale restaurant. It's all you can eat besides deserts. There's a salad bar with many options and they come around with different meats on a skewer that you can choose from. The meats are cut and you can try as many as you want and eat as many as you want until you are full. Most of the meats that I ate were good besides two, and I tasted all of them. It is pricey, it's about $50 per person but we caught them during restaurant week so it was $35 per person. Their deserts are $9 a slice so we paid a pretty good amount. If you are coming here, be prepared to spend some money. But it is enjoyable and the service is tremendous. They accommodate larger parties and it's in a shopping area, so if you want somewhere special to be for your birthday or anniversary, I would recommend. read more

For $230 for three people I would have expected a little better service. I had to get my own water twice. I literally walked 35 steps across the room in front of 25-30 people to get my own water and walked back............twice over twenty minutes. I ate a pound of meat with nothing to drink. People around me we're laughing because I got my own water but the people behind me basically walked out because service was so bad. I'm not even sure they paid. The guy was trying to find the manager I think. My coworker had to ask for a glass of wine twice and we only saw the waiter maybe four times in 90 minutes. We treated the server great but it didn't matter. I would get it if we were asses to him but we were nothing but cordial. There are so many different meats here, I won't describe each and every one. Highlights for my tastebuds: Brazilian sausage, the Brazilian filet mignon (forget the name, starts with a "P"!), the plain filet mignon, and the lamb chops. The brown sugar and cinnamon glazed bananas definitely do cleanse the palette. The, yes, the whipped potatoes are very tasty! From reading reviews, most all praise the waitstaff. We just so happened to get Bri, of whom was wonderful. Checked in at all the right times, but never hurried us so she could get to the next name on the wait list. Enough suspense, on to the main-meal attraction! So many juicy, perfectly seasoned cuts of meat. Every meat I ate, except for one, was melt in your mouth delish. The flank steak was a bit too dry and grizzly, so that was the only meat left on my plate. I absolutely craved more of their Brazilian sausages. A bit of heat to them, never drew from the intense flavor. The "c"-shaped, outer most layer, cut of the filet (started with a P, forget the Brazilian name), was the last meat that graced my plate, and it was AMAZING. Bonus: The caramelized Bananas and mashed potatoes. Meant to cleanse the palette, and help pace yourself, I could have made a meal out of those side dishes, alone! Plop a few of their Brazilian sausages next to em, and I'll kick back and let euphoria set in. Desserts, imo, are not their forte, necessarily. The desserts are huge. I got three desserts, all to-go, to share with family. The Passion Fruit "Creme Brûlée" was my absolute fav. Hints of the fruit, not overly sugar-ed. Torched sugar caramelized on the top. This one kicked ass, by the way. Second was their Coconut Chess Pie. I love coconut, but the texture and too-sweet flavor rendered it a no-go. I couldn't even finish the thing. Third? Carrot Cake. Nicely spiced, plenty of nuts (pecans?), too. I'm not a cream cheese fan, so wasn't draw to the icing, but the moist cake part was well done. I definitely will be back. Heck, I found the salad bar to be succulent enough that I'd be more than happy to just eat from that island, next time. I do love meat, though. This is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in columbus. They have amazing food. My favorite items are the bananas, the Brazilian bread, the lobster bisque, the Picanha, the sausage and the au gratin potatoes potatoes! They have amazing service and it is all you can eat! My first time visiting here was for a retirement party for one of my co-workers. Not having heard of this place, I didn't know what to expect. We had a private room secured for a party of about 30. Impressed by the appearance of the "salad" bar, I went over and loaded my plate with everything, wanting to try it all. Everything tasted great, but I hadn't gotten halfway through my plate before people started bringing meat out to me. Brazilian Sausage... ...Oh My GOD, was it delicious!!! I thought I was sampling food before I was going to decide what I wanted. You all know what was going on. No one told me that it was an AYCE setup. I had to put my initial plate aside as I attempted to keep up with the servers. Talking to my co-workers didn't help. I needed to shut up and eat. It wouldn't stop: Leg of Lamb, Filet Mignon wrapped in Bacon, Pork Ribs, Chicken Sausage, Lamb Chops... ...it wouldn't STOP! I wasn't complaining because each item was so good. Cooked perfectly, seasoned perfectly, tender to the chew. I was in heaven! I finally asked the guy next to me how to get them to stop and he told me to flip my card over. That was when I noticed the green circular marker on the table. I flipped itover and it was red. Nobody else brought me anything and thank God. I was full from the salad and sides and staring at a plate full of half-eaten meat. I couldn't wait to bring my wife back to show her a good time, which she did indeed have. I loved the experience and will return. It's about $50 per person for AYCE, but it's truly worth it. The servers are great with wonderful personalities. The dessert was awesome too. Be sure to sign up for the e-club. You get a sign-on bonus for $25 off an order of two dinners, which is a really good deal.
