I have mixed feelings about this one... I am something of a regular at Brazilian steakhouses. This restaurant has so much that is going right for it. It is beautiful! Great decor! Plenty of side dishes! Good table service. Approachable management. Great location. But if I am completely honest, I thought that the food offerings here were "very good". Nothing here was exceptional. That includes the meat choices as well as the salad bar as well as the sides. The one exception was the Keylime pie that we had for dessert, which was outstanding! There is something different about the way they prepare the meat here that is not quite as good as I've had at other Brazilian steakhouses. Maybe it is what they cook it on or the spicing that they use, but I would have to say that the food was just very good, which at this price point to me is the minimum that I should expect. Again, very attentive staff, and they took care of my nephew whose birthday we were celebrating. And there is a good chance that we will be back based purely on location and how gorgeous this restaurant is. The food was absolutely delicious, with an incredible variety of perfectly cooked meats that just kept coming. Every cut was flavorful, tender, and served hot, and the salad bar and sides were fresh, well-stocked, and high quality. The service was very good, attentive, friendly, and well-paced. The staff checked in often, made sure requests were met, and kept the experience smooth without ever feeling rushed. For the amount of food and the overall quality, the price is more than fair and truly a great value. This is a place you leave full and satisfied. In San Antonio for a conference. I was starving and wanted something within walking distance. Why not here. From the moment I stepped in the service was on point. My wait was minimal. I was seated and my server stopped by while handling another table informing me he's come back. I appreciated that. Also, the person who took my name at the front referred to me by name. I couldn't tell you a thing about this restaurant as when we went in, the hostess didn't even greet us and just asked us with her vocal fry California accent "How mahneeeee..." We told her "2 please". The waiter who was standing with her doing absolutely nothing couldn't be bothered to acknowledge our existence and was so busy tending to all the unoccupied tables he had time to lolly-gag at the hostess stand. She then replied "Yahhhh. Thaht's going to be lyke...45 minutes?" As if she were asking me instead of telling me. I kindly counted over her shoulder and noted the 12 unoccupied tables and almost the entire unoccupied bar which and informed her. She just stared blankly back at me as if I were made of badgers teeth, so we just left. We don't have this chain in Reno, NV so we try to find one whenever we travel. This is the best Texas de Brazil we have ever been to. The service was excellent, the restaurant was clean, and most importantly the "meats on sticks" were phenomenal. The buffet had an excellent selection and was also very clean. We bought Texas de Brazil gift cards at Costco which was a good deal, and celebrated our and our friends' anniversaries here. Reservations are recommended and I mentioned the special occasion for celebrations. Located in downtown on Houston Street, parking was limited to a paid lot adjacent to the restaurant. The restaurant does not validate. Walked into the restaurant and it was beautifully decorated with warm colors and gorgeous large flower arrangement pieces. The flowers appeared real, but were not. We were seated near the salad bar and greeted immediately by our server. Our 530pm reservations just happened to be during happy hour, therefore all drinks were 1/2 off! I got a passion fruit margarita and it was awesome. The salad bar was fantastic. All veggies, salads fruits, and meats were beautifully displayed and delicious. As in the past at previous Brazilian steak houses, you do not want to fill up too much on the salad bar, cuz ya gotta keep space for the endless amounts of various meats that are brought to the table. : D Green card up.... get set, various cuts of meat were non stop- Picanha, chicken, lamb, sirloin, pork, sausage, ribs.. All well seasoned , I was so thirsty that night and the day after lol We did wish they offered some seafood options for ex: grilled shrimp or cuts of salmon, like other Brazilian houses we've been to. I had mentioned to our server about our anniversaries, but no mention or comp dessert was offered. We ordered a chocolate mousse cake which was decadent and deelish. We have been to nearly every steakhouse in san antonio and this has been the worst by far. Our server did not greet us, the manager tried to rectify it by giving us the run down of how the experience worked but the table was not ready to dine. It took about 20 minutes to even get water. Our server was in a horrible mood and only checked in on us twice. He asked "are we done?" towards the end of our meal with a rude tone and didnt even offer us dessert. The location is beautiful and although the price is above average, the restaurant has a more upscale look. Service was good, the salad bar was well stocked and everything was fresh, my favorite thing on the menu, the lobster bisque was delicious as usual and there were plenty of meats to choose from. If you're going on a weekend, make sure to get there early with a reservation since the place fills up fast. First time at Texas de Brazil with my party of 3. We arrived fairly early & were greeted upon entering by 2 ladies at the reception area. Great ambiance, clean establishment. Salad bar, Brazilian cheese bread and all the meat varieties were great. I love the tabbouleh salad. It tasted even better when I accidentally drizzled a little bit of pineapple sauce from the asparagus on it, lol. Quin was our server and he was excellent! He came by to check on us regularly. Nothing impressive about this place. Despite an empty dining room full of empty tables, we were forced to wait about 30 minutes to be seated after our reservation. We tried to get a drink at the bar, but after waiting eight minutes for the bartender to acknowledge us, we walked away. As for the food experience, the waitstaff was not attentive. We waited another 10 minutes after being seated just to receive our drinks. We had to get our own meat plates, then waited another 30 minutes for garlic mashed potatoes and bananas. We repeatedly asked for specific cuts of meat and were consistently ignored. The salad bar is also very poorly designed. The glass is too low and the dishes are placed too far back, making it difficult to serve yourself. On top of that, it's complete chaos there's no staff member directing guests or explaining where the line starts or which direction it flows. When other issues arose and we spoke with both the waiter and the manager, our concerns were downplayed. Overall, don't waste your time here. Do yourself a favor, spend an extra $10, and go to Chama Gaucha instead their service and food quality don't even compare. We only came here because we had a gift card... we will never be back. read more

First time at TdB , all eat I tried was great- top one for me was the spicy filet, omgoodness, 2= lamb shank 3=beef rib/flank a Tie. #4=Lobster bisque was excellent but needed some sm pieces of lobster. Salad bar take the rest of the numbers 5-30 , because that's how many items are on cold bar. Only negative was the au- potatoes , no grated to them. Good new potatoes with canned cheese sauce poured over them(swimming) disappointment. We went to this place as what has now become a thanksgiving day tradition. There were four adults and one toddler in our party. The adults consisted of two vegetarians and two carnivores. All of us were satisfied. The service was good. There were several managers coming around the tables checking in on people. The salad bar had a good variety. I think I am no match for the onslaught of meat (I can't eat very much meat). So, since it is a flat price for dinner, I help them to be just a bit more profitable. That's my problem, though. Service and atmosphere are both very nice. What a nice place for a celebritory dinner or date night. The meat quality was very good (even though I can't eat much meat). I couldn't get enough of the caramelized bananas though. All in all, just a really nice dining experience. Not cheap, but worth it. First time here and was disappointed. We've been to other Brazilian steak houses before and have had much better experiences. The food was good, everything we tased was very good. The sides were a bit cold but the meats themselves 10/10. Now the atmosphere, not so much. The location is downtown, the exterior is typical downtown, so lots of homeless just hanging around. There was literally a person passed out in the corner of the restaurant exterior entrance. The inside was very dark and when you scanned the walls, you could see water stains and dirt. Our table was also very small. We had a party of 4 and for a place like this where you have multiple plates at once for meats, sides, sauces, drinks, etc. the tables should be bigger.The wait staff was okay but not in line with what I would expect for one of these places. At Chama, they make you feel like a king. Here, we got seated and no one came. I had to ask for help after 10 minutes. It was our first time here so I had to ask about there process. They just started bring meat, we had not sides so I had to ask how to get those. No sauces, had to ask. The waitress seemed new as she had to step away and ask others about some of the questions we had. It was our anniversary so they were kind enough to bring us a plate with whipped cream and candles. Don't get me wrong, but most places would have brought us a dessert of some kind but it's the thought that counts. Overall, food good, service bad. I don't think we would go back to this location. Too many other options. Also, get ready to pay 30 bucks for parking. We parked in a garage and paid 15.00 for parking.
