I put a deposit down on a vehicle listed by Texas Hot Rides after seeing their ad on CarGurus, which said the car had 2 previous owners and no accidents. After signing paperwork, I reviewed the full Carfax and discovered the car actually had 5 owners, had been used commercially, imported from Canada, and had 2 accident reports -- none of which were disclosed during the sale or in the ad. When I brought this to the dealership's attention and asked for my $1,000 deposit back, they refused -- even though I had not taken delivery and the deal was made under false pretenses. I have filed formal complaints with the Texas Attorney General and the Texas DMV Dealer Enforcement Division. I'm also working with my bank to recover the deposit. Be very careful -- double-check everything and get the full Carfax before signing anything. read more

I bought a Land Cruiser from Hot Rides and paid up significantly for low miles. Hot Rides made an excuse and would not let my mechanic test drive the vehicle. I should not have trusted Texas Hot Rides. Turns out the rear control arm was damaged from a wreck and the car needs $4800 of work. The wheel spacers did a good job of hiding the damage. Avoid this dealer. As time went on, there was a lot more to fix than the control arm. This car was horribly maintained and needed significant work. The car would randomly not start leaving me stranded. This happened three times and took a lot of time and money to diagnose. One this issue was resolved I started looking into some minor modifications only to find the undercarriage had significant rust that was carefully hidden with paint. Avoid this company like the plague. The number of one star yelp reviews speaks volumes. I wish I had checked yelp earlier. read more

You can't test drive a car until they pull credit ... should've known something was sketchy. No negotiation on price and then they added dealer costs on top of the price but only tell you after the credit check. purchased a 1989 iroc z from these crooks supposedly having 63k original miles. Not only did it break down off the delivery truck, the whole undercarriage was completely rusted out making it unsafe to drive. This is asking the seller if the vehicle had any rust or mechanical issues and was told no the car is in great shape with minor scratches. I'm in this car over 15k and still going. Fradulant Compliant on Sales Associate Mitchell Dietrich. He is impersonating as a General Manager. When asked to speak with Bill Or Jon he lied and said "I will not be speaking to them" . I asked for an emailed documentation of our conversation he refused and stated "I will not be emailing you" I am entitled a 4K tax credit at this point, which Mitchell refused to honor, which was a legal mandate from the Federal Government. Mitchell stated, "Why did I leave without the 4k credit?" during the call which he impersonated himself as Michael. I agreed and said I should never have left. If I could give 0 stars I would. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS DEALER, DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS. It might be lengthy, but I want any prospective buyer to understand this is not an overreaction; if anything I gave them chance after chance after chance to do the right thing, and I want you to know who you are doing business with. I purchased a 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 from Texas Hot Rides on May 3rd, 2021 and have since been dealing with issues absolutely non-stop. Today, exactly 7 months from that date, the car has been in the shop for mechanical repairs for more time than I've had it in my possession able to drive. Before I even purchased the vehicle, they informed me the lift gate struts were broken, but they would replace. Once I had purchased it, it took 5 weeks and multiple attempts on my part to get in touch about them to finally receive them. When I got home to put them on, they were the wrong size. I ended up purchasing on my own to avoid any more hassle. Frustrating, but not a red flag, but should have been. As a brief overview of major things to go wrong since, I've had: to replace the transfer case, transfer case seal, and transfer case motor, replace the radiator, replace the crank shaft position sensor, replace head gaskets two separate times, and a tire blowout simply driving on the highway, which required replacing both rear tires; and this is after I had it pre-inspected, and all the identified issues fixed (around $1,500). My total investment thus far AFTER purchase is over $14,000. The first issue was the transfer case, and it happened 3 days after I drove it off the lot. I contacted the dealership and they uncaringly informed me, "That sucks.", but were very quick to remind me that because it is 10 years old there is no warranty. I went in person to try and plead my case, but the store manager Mitchell again could not seemed to be bothered and issued another "sorry, but no." I figured it was bad luck, but I'd purchased a vehicle that I really liked and figured fixing it would be worth it in the long run. This first fix was $4,800. Since then, I have not driven the car for more than 2 weeks consecutively without breaking down or having to take it to the shop due to very concerning noises and/or dash lights. I have attempted to communicate with different people at the dealership on multiple, multiple occasions, mainly over the phone and email, but in person on a few occasions as well, and on top of being refused any sort of help, they have had a complete lack of compassion, ownership, or general care that they sold me an absolute mess of a car. Monday last week I finally got a hold of the GM for the first time, Bill. He was the most compassionate of anyone I had spoken with to this point, and he told me he wasn't sure they could do anything, but he assured me he would look into it. I proceeded to call every day after that, across multiple times throughout the day and he could never be reached, and hasn't since. I did that until yesterday when the store manager Mitchell, answered yet again, and told me after speaking with the owner that they would give me $20,000 for it, "if I brought it in and it runs ok". I purchased it for $28,000 before taxes and associated fees, and then have put over $14,000 into it in exclusively mechanical part replacement, and exclusively due to malfunction. I pushed some but was told that was the highest they would pay; essentially a "take it or leave it" deal to clearly just get me off of their back. So now I come to you, internet. I can't speak to the quality of all the cars they sell, but I can speak to the quality of this one, their ownership of the deal, their care for, and service of, the customer, their general decency, and their character. DO NOT support this business. I am a small business owner as well and I would never, ever disregard responsibility of a mistake or mishap like this. I'm updating my review after having the car for a year, I recently have been having some issues with the car. I bought from hot rides a year back. At first it was small stuff, electrical things not working, A/C going out, spark plugs needing to be replaced but I thought "it's small so whatever" big mistake on my part. Recently I got my oil change done and as I was driving home I feel the car lose power and almost felt like it wanted to turn off so I pull the car over and pop the hood and at first glance everything seemed alright but then I tried to start the car again and it wouldn't. So then I take it back to my mechanic and diagnose it and turns out it was a valve drop. Mind you the car has no crazy performance parts on it just a exhaust and that's it. If you know anything about LS engines you know that valve drop is extremely rare on LS3 engines however LS7's are more prone to it. Long story short he pulls the block out to inspect the damage, and the valve is done as well as two pistons and he discovered that the fly wheel had been switched out which can only mean that the motor has been pulled before. My guess is whoever had it before blew up the original motor, found a cheap junkyard LS3 stuck it under the hood and sold it to get rid of the problem. Moral of the story is be careful buying from these guys bring a mechanic to inspect everything. The only reason this review isn't 1 star is because they wouldn't have been able to immediately tell that the engine was swapped unless they pulled the motor out to inspect it. read more

I want to start by saying that I am appalled by the phone conversation i just had with 2 sales gentlemen and the manager Eric. I called to test drive a vehicle that i was VERY interested in. I have already test driven BMW, Audi and Lexus. The first sales man says someone is coming to buy at 5pm, its currently 12:30pm but has not given deposit so technically the car is still available. He basically told me not to waste my time to come in......??? what, already judging me on what? being a female? i was actually prepared to buy if i loved the car. Even the 2 sales guy reiterated that, well a guy IS coming in to buy it, LATER, seriously, no guarantee. i guess icould of said that too but never have i ever been discouraged from coming in and possibly making a sale. Once i explained to manager ERIC of course he basically tried to not make it seem as though their comments we rude and unacceptable. As a woman. i would never go to these types of places. its already hard to shop on your own for a vehicle but when your already treated this way on the phone is just plane rude. My experience just got worse throughout the visit, as they attempted to bargain with me, even though I knew early on the car was a lemon. The car that I looked at online was in completely different condition than the car that I was shown; and the inside was disgusting, clearly hadn't been cleaned or detailed. You will be paying "other aftermarkets" of $2596.00 for window tinting, interior protection, etc. You do not have the option to decline it. If I had known I would be forced to pay this, I wouldn't have come here for a car. The time to tell your customers about this, Jeff, is BEFORE they drive 3 hours to buy a car from you. This purchase was my most unusual experience buying a car. I have always bought certified vehicles from big box dealerships. Buying from a private owned was my first. So I purchased a 2015 Porsche GT3 from Texas Hot Rides which was the best price locally. After having the car one week it started having electrical related issues, (control module fault.) When I brought this to their attention I was told to bring the car in to have it looked at. While waiting for an answer I did contact my attorney about returning the car. He stated the documents I signed were as is with no warranty. You can imagine how I must have felt. One week later I got a call from Evan, the finance manager, his words were "Kim I have bad news and good news, We do not want to give you this car back, we would like to find you another GT3". I was so relieved they stepped up to the Plate, True Soldiers. So I found another car from another dealership, connected them to do a wholesale transaction, so the next morning I was in my 2015 Porsche GT3 with 7800 mile verse 23,000 odometer miles with a bumper to bumper Warranty. I can say this was the best experience I have ever had with a dealership! I am a business owner myself and understand the complications dealing with consumers. These guys have a Conscience, where the big box stores follow their policies and not going outside the box. This letter is in regards to a 2006 Mustang GT I bought from Texas Hot Rides on April 20th, 2017. I am currently deployed to the middle east for the US Army and I have been here for one year. This is my second tour since April 2017. During the period I have been home, I have enjoyed driving the Mustang and it is a great car. I bought the car with 56,789 on the Odometer and its at 59,000 now. I have put 2,211 miles on the car since April 2017. I have someone taking care of my vehicles because I am still deployed. We have discovered that there was a lot of unseen issues with the Mustang. I have the original ad showing the car for sale at their showroom and none of the details were listed. The vehicle is hesitating and idling rough due to all the undisclosed deficiencies and the repair costs are adding up. In the last few weeks, we have had to replace the front Brakes, the Battery, the Alternator, the Exhaust System and a multitude of other repairs. On the Alternator issue, my Mechanic in Colorado said the pulleys were all loosened down to get rid of the "squeaking" noise. He said there is some kind of flux or something on the Oil Pan as well apparently masking a very bad leak. He said "Someone did these things just to pass the car off". A Mafia Tuner that was advertised with the car did not arrive with the car. I have all the receipts for all the repairs and I am was willing to give the shops names, phone numbers and the contact person but Texas Hot Rides was not interested. I believe I was taken advantage of do to "sight unseen" during the buying period. These repairs are not considered minor and I believe that the vehicle was not thoroughly inspected before they sold it to me. I paid cash for the vehicle. Hard earned cash. Its apparent that A need to know how you intend to address my issue. This is not a way to take care of Military personnel. read more

My son purchased a vehicle from them recently and the experience was less than satisfactory. He purchased the vehicle from the information and pictures on the website since he was an out-of-town buyer. After speaking with their sales staff numerous times regarding the condition of the vehicle, he was led to believe the vehicle which sold for nearly $100,000.00 was in nearly flawless condition. When the vehicle arrived, it was apparent there were electrical issues even before it was unloaded from the trailer. The running lights on the passenger side did not work properly and it took several hundred dollars to have the issue diagnosed. There were several body damage issues that weren't conveyed during the many conversations with the Hot Rides sales staff about the exact condition. When these issues were brought to the attention of sales staff after taking possession, they were argumentative and promised the general manager would reach out to discuss our concerns. We never received a call from anyone at the dealership again. Word of advice: Never buy a vehicle that you can't inspect in person and test drive. This turned out to be an expensive lesson in trust. This dealership cannot be trusted to give you accurate information about their vehicles and are unprofessional in their response when justifiable complaints are raised. read more

Went in to look at a car i already had in mind, ended up taking the car home. Everything looked good until I got home and found a hole inside the door on the driver side. Not only that, the car sat for 4 days on my house since I have another vehicle, the day I decide to use it I drove about 100 miles on it and the check engine light came on. Had to get it check and it was a misfire due to a vacuum line leaking running on lean. Cost me about 700 to fix everything that the analysts showed and now I need a battery and tires for it as well. Bought a 2010 Dodge Challenger cash. Got it home and could hear a rattle when I would press the clutch. Called and asked about it and he told me that it was a racing clutch and that it supposed to make that noise. Clutch lasted 1000 more miles now I have to replace the 3500 dollar clutch. Don't waste your money or time! Dishonest salesman, illegal Texas State Inspection, substandard mechanical repairs, low down dirty tricks. After the salesman said they had been thru the entire car and had checked out and repaired everything, I agreed to purchase the car. Hot Rides provided a full tank of gas, two key fobs (not provided when test drove the car) and a brand new Texas State Inspection sticker, drove off the lot very excited about the new ride. Less than 50 miles off the lot, it started raining, turned the wipers on only to watch them fly off in pieces as I"m driving down the highway just hours after passing Texas State Inspection. Hmm? Googled for the closest auto parts store to get new blades so I can make it home safe. Pulling into the auto parts parking lot, I hear ding..ding... look down and the gas gauge has dropped from full to empty, the low fuel light and check gauges light is on. Auto parts tech suggested it could be a float in the gas tank going out but to get it checked out. Purchased wiper blades and 2 new batteries for the key fobs, neither of them worked. $52.00 and the key fobs still don't work. Contacted Mitchell, he offered to replace a sensor on the fuel gauge and pay for the wiper blades. Cool, get off work early, drive all the way over and he gives me a $100 check and says he can't replace the sensor but it's not expensive for me to have it done. Next day, go to repair shop and find out several of the instrument cluster services have been intentionally disconnected including the Check Engine light, the car is throwing 4 error codes and the Check Engine light should and would be on. Hmm, how did this car legally pass inspection? Attempted to contact Mitchell and after 5 days he sent a text that the car is old and things are going to break down, I acknowledged the car is old but it should have been up to par when I drove it out of their parking lot and parts shouldn't start going out within hours. In this case, some of the parts were already malfunctioning, just disguised long enough for them to get their money. Mitchell replied you bought it as is and I can't warranty anything. Despite the fact they sold a vehicle that wouldn't legally pass inspection and has been intentionally altered to hide known problems so they can take advantage of buyers. It's not a warranty issue, it's an ethical issue to treat people with respect and honesty, not lie and rob them. These were known issues to Hot Rides that should have been fixed or disclosed at the time of purchase, not hidden from the buyer and taken advantage of. Will also be reporting the illegal inspection to the Texas Department of Public Safety, maybe they will get a better response. read more

Basically a bunch of immature kids on loud bikes pretending to run a real business. Most of their cars are cheap because they have high miles or have been modified - or both. A word to the wise - all those "modded" cars have violated their warranties, and good luck finding someone to fix it when it breaks. You'd have to figure out who did the "mods", what the mods were exactly, etc: In other words, a nightmare. That's why the cars are cheap. Consider for a moment why someone who just spent $20k in "mods" is willing to unload the car for peanuts. Just be sure to have about a few thousand in reserve to clean up the mess, because I guarantee the previous owner ran out of money, patience or both. As far as the "business" itself: What a pathetic joke. Like most immature non-professional people, they don't know how to communicate, don't return phone calls or emails, and basically exude amateurism in everything they do. You *might* end up with a decent car from this place, but it will be *despite* the very people selling you the car. read more
