I visited this store specifically because it was Family Owned, I like to support local business. I got a quote to repair a ring and a $10 gold piece with a bezel. Upon return to get ring fixed because start small before I spend a lot of $ somewhere to see quality of service etc. I spoke to an older Caucasian lady that was so insulting to say the least. Had absolutely NO PEOPLE SKILLS WHAT SO EVER. At the end describing the ring she says it's a Garnet when it was an Emerald. Should have been my time to run but I went against my instincts and left the ring there. Later that day same lady calls and says oh I don't have a diamond that fits I don't know much it's going to be to fix this piece. I let her don't touch I will pick up. I needed to have my wedding band set cut off, as my finger and knuckle were swelling. I tried many alternative ways, but nothing worked. I wanted to save the rings as I have worn them for 35 years. He was able to cut both rings at the same time. He took his time and even saved as much of the ring as possible, for future repair. Im so upset! I got a necklace and the chain was too small so i went to Texas Jewelry based on reviews and a recommendation from my friend. I found a beautiful chain but when i went to try it on the clasp was broken. The jeweler supposedly fixed the clasp, but less than a week later i wake up with a broken chain. Thankfully, the pendant was found easily. It's small and could easily be lost. Im going elsewhere to get it fixed today. Maybe, my fault for buying a chain that was broken when i went to try it, but it was supposed to have been fixed. That chain wasn't cheap. Debatable if i'll ever come here again. Saw the great reviews, so I took my vintage watch in for repairs. The ladies ooh and awed and told me I had something really special. The next day, a man called and said it needed cleaning and something about a part and it would cost $200.00 + to repair. He said it wasn't really worth repairing unless it was a family heirloom. I picked it up and took it to another watch repair person. He cleaned and oiled it. When I asked about it needing a part, he said, "No, it is just dry inside." It has been running ever since. brought my ring in for a resizing and was charged 3x more than i should have been for the work by local standards. without getting overly technical as to the how and why of it, my ring was sized incorrectly and needed to be re-done. it no longer looks precisely the same as it did originally, but at least i have my ring back. i wouldn't recommend them for sizing or repairs or even some alteration requests i would personally consider simple as they are very limited in what they can do. read more

Unbelievable customer service. Today was the second time that I have visited the store. The first time, the knowledgable gentleman with the uncanny Santa Clause resemblance, removed the links from a Tag watch for free. Today, I had a battery replaced in an 18 year old Seiko, more links removed from the Tag and an automatic 25 jewel Accutron completely repaired. I was quoted a repair cost of $600-800 on the Accutron at another jeweler. The master watchsmith onsite repaired my broken watch for $40. Amazing. I highly recommend any and all watch inquiries to be directed to Texas Jeweler. They are the gold standard in customer service and, more importantly, honesty. read more
