Me and my husband went here for the first time last week for an early dinner. It was a Sunday which we usually avoid going out to eat but they got us in within 10-15 minutes. I have eaten at several of this chains restaurants in other states, always been outstanding. I tried the Sarasota location yesterday and was not impressed. The two best parts of the visit were the dessert and our friendly waitress. The ribs, fish dinner and side dishes were flavorless. First to note the restaurant manager told us they DO NOT take/make REAL reservations & that call ahead seating only lets them know how many are coming & what time, but you still may have a short wait. That being said we were told they were holding 2 tables for people "that were on their way" which really means this is a reservation! I had dinner tonight with my family at Texas Roadhouse. We decided to eat here because it is close to home, we were very hungry and we typically always have good food and service at TR. We didn't have good service tonight. It took nearly 20 minutes before my husband and son received the salads they ordered as sides to their steaks. We were expecting the salads with the meals. We had a direct view of the kitchen. After our waitress, Taylor, delivered the salads to our table, she headed over to the reception area to look at her phone and chat it up with her coworkers. We could see my cheeseburger under the hot lamp as she delivered the salads. I tried to get her attention several times but she was too busy chatting and laughing behind the reception desk to notice my waving, after nearly 45 minutes after we ordered and more than 10 minutes after we watched my burger continue to cook under the hot lamps the rest of our food was delivered to the table. My burger arrived hard and crunchy and my fries were dried out. I waved my hands at her again as she chatted it up and this time did not give up until she noticed. I showed her my burger (took the top of the bun off and hit it against my plate) and let her know we saw it under the hot lamp for over 10 minutes. Her response was "I got ya". She took the burger on a side plate and didn't say anything further. I had to stop her as she walked by her table to let her know the fries were bad too, she responded "new fries will be on your plate" and said nothing more. 20 minutes later the manager, Chris, delivered the burger to our table. My son, daughter and husband had all finished their meals by the time my burger arrived. Chris stopped for a second then said "was everyone else's food okay?" Neither Taylor nor Chris ever apologized or even commented on what happened. Had either of them apologized I would not have written this review. Worst trip to Texas Roadhouse in years. We are frequent visitors. We were put in the new addition in the front of the store. The server did apologize due to a computer glitch he didn't know we were there. The whole atmosphere was lack luster. The salads weren't fresh like usual. The broccoli, which is usually very good, was watery and not warm. My Roadkill which was supposed to be medium was fairly close to rare. By the time he came back I was too tired to complain. He then disappeared for long enough for a box to allow both my husband and I to go to the restroom and still had to wait fir the check. Texas Roadhouse has always been a go-to for our family. Food is decent and you really can't beat the prices compared to this type of food in area. Downfall in this location- Hostess and Managers. There are tons of them walking around. But unless you are in their face- they are all useless. We learned our lesson not waiting in the car for reservations bc hostess' dont use their systems properly. Last time we were there , a manager named Tina was screaming at a server in front of her table. Who does that?? I don't care what she may have done wrong, you don't berate them in front of others.. In addition, I see comments on packing the place during covid. Again, that's on the Managers and Hostess. She has been yelling profanity at the bar the whole night and I was told by a fellow patron she is a manager. When I finally had enough after hearing "he f**ed me in the a** tonight f that guy" (talking about her employee), we asked her group if they would mind piping down with the profanity and sexual references, as we are about to eat food. This lady then complained to the bartender about me and made the comment "it's a bar." This is Applebees. This is not a place to be belligerent and yell profanity. Her eyes looked like she was on cocaine and she was yelling and moving around in the nature of a 5 year old. If this is the way Texas Roadhouse would like to represent themselves, cool, just wanted to share. (Also would like to add I am a food service employee and often go out to eat after I get off work, in uniform, and understand the responsibility of representing my company). This is not just an employee having a drink after work or letting off steam. This is a disgusting representation of the company as a whole. 3 other people complained while we were here and a lady even walked up to her and said "you should be absolutely ashamed of your behavior in your work uniform" and she said "thank you." They kept telling us they couldn't guarantee we'd be seated together which was understandable, until the tables next to us opened up and a third of our party was still waiting to be seated. They purposely made it a point to seat the rest of us on the other side of the restaurant. Let me not forget to mention we had been waiting collectively for 2 hours. My main issue is when you have the means to accommodate us as guests but choose not to and give us an attitude because we're trying to understand the logic in the situation, it creates frustration. We were told the wait would be about 20 minutes, but we were seated within 15. While waiting we were given jumbo peanuts, and the fun thing is that you can throw your shells on the floor just like in an old Texas saloon. The decor of the place makes it feel a bit like a ranch. This place is good for steaks and the steaks are hand cut. I got an 11oz Sirloin with fries and mixed vegetables. My steak was cook perfectly, was juicy and tender and picked lots of taste. The fries were over salted and the veg a little over cooked. The price point here is great though because a decent size steak and two sides is around $15. You get free hot bread rolls and unlimited peanuts too. You might want to book in advance as this place is always busy. read more

This place was open today for Christmas Eve which was really nice. They're closing at 8 though so people can be home. The food was really good and came relatively quickly. One one issue happened to someone else in our party. They asked for well done steak bit got medium instead. But they quickly fixed it for him. I had the 8oz sirloin with shrimp and my sides were broccoli and Caesar salad. My only issue with the salad was that I was given burnt croutons and they tasted unpleasant. The rest of my food tasted fine. Also the spacing for the restaurant. Where my daughter was in her car seat in the provided sling, the servers kept having to pass and try not to bump into since the table adjacent to us was so close. Pretty much a trip/fire hazard. One of my favorite steak chains. I'd come just for the loaded sweet potato! Giving the place credit for opening week and the crowds, the steaks were good, the service terrific, the server wonderful, and it was all we expect from this chain. My wife had the small filet and it was excellent according to her. I had the small rib eye and it was the same way! We each had the loaded sweet potato and we were not disappointed. If you plan on going during their new opening period expect a wait. Our server said it was a 1.5 hr wait on Monday & Tuesday, and 2 hrs on Wednesday. We arrived right at 5pm and had a 30 minute wait, but it had to be longer than 1 hour when we left - and they were standing in the rain. Let's face it - Bradenton doesn't have an abundance of good steak places - Outback & Cody's is it. And so it's kind of like when you drink coke all the time - every once in a while you want a root beer. I just stopped at the roadhouse Grill for a steak and a couple beers at the bar. Having been a bartender and a chef in my past life (8 years at Fleming's Steakhouse), I came not having high expectations. Little did I know what a great experience I would have. I was greeted by Veronica and Ronnie within seconds of sitting down with a smile. I decided to have a fillet with a loaded baked potato and a house salad. Everything came out perfect and Hot (salad was cold!) I asked if Veronica could charge my phone and she tried to but the cord wasn't working with my phone. So then I went to the hostess stand to see if they had another cord and they did but no wall charger. I said I think they have one at the bar. Then Tony (the manager) came up and handed me one to use. It is the little things that like these that really make a memorable experience. Having been in the restaurant business for over 25 years it's nice to see a team like that works so flawlessly together. Some people might not notice but this guy did. I feel like I got service I would expect at a find dining restaurant. The only hiccup that I saw was a corporate issue. I asked for a drink menu and it has no prices on it. I jokingly asked for the menu with prices on it... I think it's a good way to undersell drinks by not having prices on them. Money is not an issue for me, thankfully, but I'm sure many people that come in there or on budgets. Nothing worse than to be on a date and only have 60 bucks in your pocket trying to impress a girl and have to ask what everything cost. Even for me it made me stick to Miller lite. Why would you put prices on your food menu if this is such a great idea? Please add prices, I would guarantee you your alcohol sales would go up. (I'll bet you a free steak!?) So in closing I'd like to take my hat off to the wonderful bartenders that I had, the wonderful manager that I met and the hostesses. Also a big shout out to a perfectly cooked steak and warm hot food from the great kitchen crew and chef. As you can see from other reviews I've done some that are not as nice and wonderful as this one. The group I was with wasn't so excited about the place because there were some serving/food errors. But my food turned out just fine and I thought the service was nice, at least - especially with how busy they were... I had the ribs and chicken combo.
