Ok this is my third time eating here since opening. Each time I go I some how think it will be better and it just keeps getting worse. Tonight my family of four went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner a family member gave us a gift card here is the only reason for this choice. We did call ahead seating using the app which worked ok but it does not let you make a comment if someone is disabled and in a wheelchair thus we had to still wait for a table. Once seated with our bread basket and no silverware or plates we waited for one of the worst waitress I have had in a while. Having been a waitress and bartender for years as a young adult I understand that this is not an easy job. This young lady lacked basic customer service skills needed for this job she would plop our food down and walk away before I even had the chance to tell her what she brought me was not what I ordered. Upon being told that I had ordered the prime rib and not the sirloin she felt the need to tell me I was mistaken. When I reminded her of my earlier conversation she finally agreed and placed the order for the correct cut of meat. Now for the actual food the prime rib was over seasoned and just plain old bad. I couldn't finish it and brought what was left home to my dog. I will have to rinse it off before I give it to him as the salt level is not good for man nor beast. Finally to top off this terrible meal my husband and son order apple pie and cheese cake. The pie was frozen solid. We live 30 mins away and it was still hard as a brick after we got it home. He may be able to have tomorrow for a midnight snack. Overall save yourself the high Blood pressure and eat somewhere else, anywhere else read more

I've been here numerous times. Always good. Today, I came in for a take-out order and "Morgan T." took the phone order. She was very professional, polite and described the order to ensure everything was right. A few moments later I arrived and Morgan T. was there. Again VERY polite and she ensured everything was in order. As a Veteran, she also helped to get a military discount. Oh Texas Roadhouse how I wanted to adore you!! This will be short and sweet and to the point. Use the call ahead seating service, you'll be very happy you did. Waits can be up to 1.5 hours. You can call ahead up to 1 hour before you expect to be there. Upon being seated the hostess gives you the absolute best melt in your mouth home baked rolls with cinnamon butter. (Tip: ask for water from the hostess because trust me, it's going to be forever until you see you get something) From that point it really is downhill in regards to service. We waited for a really long time to place our order. Even longer to get out order and refills on beverages were even longer. We are going to give them another shot but wait for the hype to go down a bit in hopes for better a trained/ experienced staff. read more

Service is fast. The rolls are great. The meat is great. My only complaint was the applesauce. When I saw it on the menu I thought for sure it would be homemade or unique. It was basically grocery store apple sauce. Pretty disappointing. read more

It has been impossible for me and my husband to get a good steak anywhere. We used to love the filet mignon at Bone Fish Grill but it tastes like a sirloin now. We ordered a 6 Oz. Dallas Filet at Texas Roadhouse in Charlottesville and it was delicious. We ordered it medium and it was exactly how we wanted it. They will give you peanuts in the shell and bread if you want it before your meal. I am a hard sell so this review is a true 4 star. I did not like the bathroom - not clean & it had a bad odor. We were there at 4:30 pm so this is pretty bad at such an early time. read more

My son and I decided to go out an enjoy a nice steak so we went here. My only criticism would be that we were still in the middle of eatting our salads and our nice steaks arrived. I felt like we were being rushed. Years ago I worked in food and beverage and even trained wait staff at several locations. Went last Saturday with a group of six. Place was a zoo, waited about 20 minutes longer than the time they gave us when we called ahead (45 minutes when we called). Ok, no big deal. But they messed up every single one of our meals. Missing/wrong/duplicate sides, no sauces that we ordered for our steaks, my wife's steak (ordered well) was delivered very pink, taken back and delivered slightly pink. Totally forgot the ribs one member of our party got, so he sat there for most of the meal while we ate. Manager came by and tried to fix things, but no bill adjustment. Food was good, not spectacular. Won't be going back for a long time. read more

i always ate at texas roadhouse when i lived in hampton and in TX, so when i saw they were opening in charlottesville, i had to go. i made the wrong decision to show up on a saturday night though. i called ahead for a reservation, and still waited an hour once i showed up. anyways, the only reason i gave this location 3 stars was b/c of the wait AND b/c they were so busy, they weren't paying attention to the cook of the steaks. our table of 5 all received steaks well done, no pink at all, when we all asked for medium rare to med. that was a disappointment. but the fresh bread and cinnamon sugar butter kind of makes up for it. our server was nice enough to give us a whole new basket of bread and butter to take home. i will update my review once i go on a non-busy time and see if they can cook their steaks properly. read more

I went there last night to pick up food around 7:25 pm and I went up to the hostesses to tell them I was picking up and they tell me to stand next to the register that someone will be right with me. Nope took them 20+ minutes for them to get to me. Ridiculous ! There was a another guy waiting there with me but he got there after I did. The manager did talk to him but he didn't even acknowledge me. So when he got his food that's when the cashier FINALLY asked me about how long I was waiting. She apologizes and comes rushing with my food. Little did I know that I would come home with cold food, I was too angry to check especially because my brother waiting for me. I just threw my food away. I work at a restaurant for 5+ years and I know it can be hectic but I never let a customer go unnoticed like they did to me last night. This was unacceptable. Not even the hostesses helped out they were more entertained with their conversation than the customers, are they not supposed to let the cashier know when people are there to pick up? Where was the cashier ? I don't plan going back or taking my mom here who has several gift cards there. What a waste smh read more

Great atmosphere, good waitresses, good food, and the buttered rolls are the best! Will visit again even if the wait is 10 or 15 minutes.

We like to come to Texas Roadhouse for lunch because my husband likes their steaks. We went this week and everything was very good except the mashed potatoes could have been warmer. My husband also would have liked his chile to be warmer but we had Jess as our server and she was very attentive and friendly. Watch your credit cards people! This restaurant likes to tip themselves way past 20% when the service doesn't warrant even that. Having worked in many restaurants, I know how hard the job is thus I ask for nothing more than taking my order, bring it out and maybe a refill on a drink. Why this staff thinks they deserve a $50+ tip on a $30 check or the need to double the 20% cash tip on the credit card is beyond me. So check your receipts and your records. They're probably stealing from you too. read more

We went pretty early on a Thursday evening 7-20-17 for our first and never again visit. The place was chaotic even though not very full at the beginning. Our friend who treated us ordered chicken fried steak and the meat was burned before breaking was added, then fried. He had to return it since so awful and they brought him another as we were getting to leave. Chicken strips were mystery meat with soggy weird breeding and barbecue sauce terrible. My husbands combo (shrimp skewer was awesome) but steak tough and tasteless. Could go on but it was just bad. Sorry to report this but hope they can pull it together before failing. read more

We went an hour before close, so even though it seemed crowded we were seated right away. The parking lot was pretty full (and be aware, ALL the spaces right in front of the doors are handicapped). The lighting is fairly dim and the music is loud (not really a complaint, just an observation). They have (really gorgeous quality) steaks in a display cooler right up at the front and give you the option to choose if you want. They have a lineup of bread right there and the hostess will just grab a basket as they go by... the bread is a sweet bread with cinnamon butter; I didn't try it but my roommate raved about it. We seemed to wait a bit longer for the food than I would have liked (especially considering how close it was to closing) but that could have just been my perception... I was really hungry! My roommate ordered a sirloin medium well with sauteed mushrooms, sides of fresh vegetables and seasoned rice; I ordered the fried catfish with sweet potato (butter, cinnamon and brown sugar) and also had the rice. The steak was perfectly cooked with no bad/gristley pieces of meat, the broccoli and carrots were also perfectly cooked (for our tastes). The rice was very tasty, very flavorful and nicely seasoned... maybe a bit on the mushy side but that's okay, it didn't detract from the flavor. It was my first time having catfish and it was amazing! Tender and flavorful and the mustard or whatever dipping sauce it comes with is delicious! I also loved the strawberry lemonade I ordered, it was actually the most delicious flavored lemonade I've ever had. I was overall so impressed with this place and would definitely go here again. I didn't even mind the really loud country music. It's on the pricier side, but I think it's an average range for a steakhouse and you really do get what you pay for. read more

So thankful that Charlottesville has a Texas Roadhouse now!! Yes it's a chain restaurant, but the steaks are great! Had the ribeye and the cook and temperature was right on par. Even though the we're crowded, the wait was minimal. Waitress was friendly and accommodating. read more
