The choice for my birthday this year. We've been here before and always enjoyed our meals. Once again, we hit them about 6:30 pm and the place was hopping, noisy, crowded, and LOUD. Alejandro did a good job of maneuvering to our booth and hubby and I were a bit consistent with our choices of a 12 oz Ft Worth Ribeye, smothered, and the 9 pc grilled Shrimp Dinner. I also ordered the Mango 10 oz frozen drink. The drink was great. Once again, we found the meal heavily salted and spicy (not so good for seniors), and I swear that couldn't have been a ribeye--overcooked (shouldn't have ordered medium rare)--and tough, full of gristle. I try my best to give Texas Roadhouse in Crown Point, IN a chance but, they just can't get it right. This time we got bread with no service plates. I ordered a sweet potato with my fillet and they gave me rice. When they made it right, the sweet potato was cold. Review of Texas Roadhouse - 701 E 109th Ave, Crown Point, IN Our party of nine was greeted warmly when we arrived. However, the seating situation was extremely frustrating. The host attempted to seat our group at a table that clearly only accommodated six people. When we pointed out another open table nearby, we were told that no one was allowed to sit in that section. Because of this, we ended up being separated. Not even five minutes later, other guests were seated in the same section we were told was unavailable. This was disappointing and made us feel dismissed. Cleanliness was another major issue. There was food and liquid on the floor under our table, and the area looked like it had not been cleaned between guests. It was unpleasant to sit there--I felt like I needed to wipe down everything myself before eating. As for the food, the quality was extremely poor. I ordered the 8 oz. steak with shrimp, and the steak was so tough that after one bite, I requested a to-go box. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak, and stated that it had a weird taste.. His stomach became upset within minutes of leaving the restaurant. Management needs to address several issues: * Cleanliness of the dining area * Proper handling and freshness of food * Better customer service, especially when seating larger parties After this experience, I will not return to any Texas Roadhouse location. My husband and I came in on a weekend around 6. We had to wait at least a half hour but there are places to sit and wait. When we got seated we had the most attentive server, Alex. He was busy but still made time to keep checking on us and for several trips getting us extra things ( butter, rolls, drinks, etc) My shrimp was delicious. And my husband's steak and ribs- he loved that too. There were birthdays there and it was LOUD but the atmosphere was fun. I didn't care for the sauce that came with the big fried onion. I ordered a to go and made the mistake of arriving ten mins earlier than what was listed and was greeted with an absolute stank attitude from the drive thru hostess who told me she would text when the food was ready. Whatever I waited until the time I was given drove through the drive through again and was made to wait for 5 more minutes at the window before being greeted by the same hostess with her award winning attitude. I was still polite got my food went home to find out many of my items were missing, which felt intentional given this girls attitude about a simple food order. Had to go back through the drive through wait for my things to get home and realize we don't even have butter for the bread or croutons for the salad and steak is subpar and now cold. Shoutout to roadhouse for their quality food and exemplary staff. Super glad we chose this restaurant and even had the foresight to tip on this to go order. I went here for dinner after a local convention in Crown Point, and I felt like this was a standard good Texas Roadhouse experience. The wait was reasonable for the time of night, and proximity to "ThE bIg GaMe©®™" and we were seated within the estimated 40 minutes. The host and our server were very friendly, even though we could tell they were tired, and were attentive. Our food came out promptly, and was very delicious. The restaurant was clean, the atmosphere was Texas Roadhouse, and the prices for the portions were very good. Be careful negotiating the roundabouts to get here, it seems like people still have a little trouble navigating them as evidenced by the smashed signs. Normally I do not leave reviews, however, after the dumpster fire experience we had last night, I felt I needed to. On Saturday 7/12/2025, my husband and I decided to grab dinner. I had never been to this location, so this was my first time. Our server was very friendly and attentive. I soon realized we had made a big mistake dining there was when I observed the bus boy cleaning a booth about 20 feet from our table. He was whipping the cleaning rag around the tabletop like he was competing in an Olympic Event. Food stuff from on top of the table goes flying around landing wherever. Next, he uses the same cleaning rag to clean the seats where people had just had their bottoms sitting on. Repeats this process on another table using the same cleaning rag. OK, I try not to think about that, but GROSS! Next, I watch a server delivering food with her hair in the tray of food. Our dinner arrives and my medium rare steak is curling up along the edge because it's so thin and over cooked. The sweet potato was so cold that the butter wouldn't melt. I send that back to be reheated. I decided not to complain about the ribeye being a bit tough because I was hungry and just wanted to go home. While we are eating the same bus boy decides to clean the table directly behind my husband. I witness the chemical spray he is spraying lands all over and in the items sitting in the basket on the table, like the salt and pepper etc.... Now I'm slightly disgusted. Halfway through the meal a server decides to sweep under the table next to us while we are eating. I felt something hit the top of my foot. My husband proceeds to tell him to PLEASE STOP. He turns around and says, "I have to do this so I can go home, I just want to go home". He then proceeds to sweep faster. My husband tells him again PLEASE STOP. Another server says to him, "Hey they are serious". He continues to sweep. My husband tells him for at least the fourth time to stop and is now angry and demanding to see the manager. The server then stops and walks away. The manager comes to our table with a very poor attitude and is completely ignorant of understanding that this is cross contamination. She defends the server because he needed to complete this task to leave. That this is their standard procedure for servers. Not caring about the fact that dust and dirt are now in the air and landing on our food while we are trying to eat. If this is how she handles unsanitary conditions, I don't want to know what happens in the kitchen. Health Department needs to inspect for sure. The only thing she did was cut our bill in half and made my husband and I angry. We didn't even eat half our food before losing our appetite and refused to take anything home. So honestly, what did she do to remedy the situation? Nothing other than we will never return and a very poor customer review. I wish I could leave a no star review. read more

Last night we came for dinner. I never wrote any review's. I have to say my nine-year-old daughter always wants to go to Texas roadhouse. Ever since she met Cami, I feel that you need to know how important of a server you have. She is always been so sweet to my daughter before we went to dinner yesterday. My daughter shows me a gift she made her a card. Let me tell you she has never done this for anybody in the service industry. Every time we see her she does outstanding with my daughter. I Wanted to let you know that you have a very special server. we had Melissa as our server last night. She did a great job and was quick. She was efficient and she was sweet. Knowing what kind of weekend this is being a holiday. There's a lot of stress on servers and staff. I didn't see any on her face and she was very polite. Thank you for having some great servers. Some take the time to put an extra impact on someone's life. Sometimes it takes a good server and a good dinner to celebrate something some what sad. It took awhile to be seated but once we got seated service was ok. However, the food was a major disappointment. My sirloin steak was so tough the fork barely penetrated it. It was definitely a poor cut of meat. I ordered the buttered corn and a loaded baked potato. The baked potato was barely warm enough to melt the cheese and the corn was seasoned with pepper but no noticeable butter. The corn was old and tough. It should have been harvested a week earlier which is a supplier problem. The steak was probably a supplier issue as well. The baked potato was a kitchen issue as by the time the cheese was melted, the whole potato was cold. If fact, the whole meal was barely warm. Ambiance was ok for a family restaurant. I did find the screaming baby behind me rather annoying but that may be because everything else was such a disappointment. I don't think I will be returning. I never understand the human desire of masochism that makes them stand in lines for ungodly amounts of time to spend their money. This is one place that points out that trait and the laughable waiting line of abuse. Luckily we decided to get there early so while the place was full we were seated promptly and waited for service. Understaffed, obviously which cannot be blamed on the wait staff. Thick steaks are juicy and flavorful. Thin cut steaks are dry. The thin expensive ribeye was about an inch thick. And stringy. Not a great flavor. Other half got bad tasting chicken fried chicken, potatoes that tasted like instant, gravy worse than canned and declared our entire meal inedible. The atmosphere as always was loud and unpleasant. Definitely a place that will never see us or our money again. It will give us a chuckle as we drive by and look at the line. read more

The service and food was great, however their business philosphy makes no sense. They would rather have you walk out, or wait for 1 1/2 hours so their kitchen doesn't get overwhelmed. I was on wait list, waited way past my initial seating time, to finally get seated into a restaurant that had about 10 empty tables. Talked to management and they explained this is the way they prefer to run this location it is not the business model for Texas Roadhouse. I tried to explain it is better to seat people, get drinks, apps, and salads/soups on the table, than to have people walk out. The young unexperienced manager didn't understand it concept. Party of 19 celebrating (3) birthdays. The seating arrangements were ok. The service was pretty good. The most disappointing thing was my Prime Rib steak!! Everyone received their orders before me. The waitress did follow-up on the timing of my meal. (anticipation!!! yesss) When I got the meat, it was dry, fatty, and overcooked. Actually, it didn't even look like prime rib. I didn't think to take a picture. I took a couple of bites, and had my BFF try it, she said to send it back. The waitress was very nice, she took it back with no problem. She proceeded to bring me another steak. This one did look like prime rib, however, the taste was horrible. It tasted like it had been frozen and refrozen and then cooked. Today we visited this restaurant for lunch. It opened at 11am and we arrived 45 minutes later and there were quite a few diners already seated and eating. Large dining room clean and a bit noisy. Many items to choose from. I had to try the Texas chili. So decided on a cheeseburger, steak fries and a cup of chili. Now in Texas their chili consists of Meat, meat and meat. So I was surprised to see many beans. Having said that it was very good. I ordered the burger medium well. My error! It came to me still red. It was way over salted so I ate what I could. Not much. So my experience was not good. The others (we were a party of seven) had similar remarks about too much salt but enjoyed their meal. Why chiefs over salt is beyond me.
