We finally decided to give this place another try. The noise level was a bit better than our previous visit. Still loud, but definitely an improvement from last time. We were actually able to have a semi-normal conversation without screaming at the top of our lungs to be able to hear across the table. Note to those that have small children or want to be in a calmer part of the restaurant, ask to sit in the area behind the hostess table. We sat there and it was a bit calmer. Note that when there's a birthday, the entire restaurant gets involved and you have waiters/waitresses singing and dancing around. It does get annoying but I guess that's something that wont change I guess. So, know before you go. Service was great as usual. Waitress was nice and brought everything out promptly. Now the food...My cousin and I both ordered their "fall off the bone ribs" that they claim is one of their specialties. Both our ribs plates were far from falling off the bone. They were so charred that you couldn't even scrape it off the bone. We managed to pull of small pieces here and there. Aside from that, our fries (including my husbands fries) were a different shade of golden, as if they were triple fried. It had such a weird texture. We both kept trying to go through all the ribs to see if there's anything we can salvage, but one piece after the other was charred. Came here with family to try a different place. Texas Roadhouse is very close to the chilis so make sure that you are walking into the right restaurant. We came in on a Saturday night around 7 and the wait was around 30 minutes which was not bad. Never being to a Texas Roadhouse before I enjoyed the fact that you can pick your own steak if you wish, I did and got an 8oz. sirloin. When our name was called we were seated. While our hostess was seating us our waiter came over and insulted our hostess. I thought that this was very unprofessional -1 star. On to the food. The bread placed on the table was very good. For appetizers we ordered the combo appetizer and the killer ribs. The ribs were actually very good and had a lot of flavor. The jalapeño poppers and stuffed potato skins were great as well and everyone enjoyed them. The wings were just ok. For dinner I gave my ticket to the waiter and he asked me how I wanted my steak, and if I wanted it "smothered", and I said yes and medium and got onions and mushrooms. For sides I ordered a loaded baked potato and seasoned rice. Other dishes our table got were the 23oz porterhouse and 2 smokehouse burgers. The Sirloin was good and the sides were amazing! Everyone else enjoyed their meals as well and said everything tasted great. After dinner I was looking forward to a nice dessert. I was surprised when the waiter gave the check and quickly walked away. We decided that it was not worth it and left. My overall experience of Texas Roadhouse was ok. The food for the most part is good and fresh but the service is absolutely horrible. Our waiter was rude unprofessional and did not even offer dessert. For those reasons the Texas Roadhouse is getting 3 stars. If you want a good steakhouse for the family then I recommend it, but if you are looking for a high end dining experience go somewhere else. read more

Usually everything I get here is good, I usually order the southern fried chicken with the white gravy. The rolls are a great selling point, always hot and fluffy and that butter is amazing. When I get my chicken, it's always hot and the white gravy is always flavorful. I'm in love with their rice. However the last time I went I got steak fries with cheese and bacon on them. When my plate came, the cheese on top of the fries was shredded and already stiff like it was once hot and cooled down or microwaved on top and the bacon was just thrown on top in like a little pile. The cheese came off as one sheet, so once the cheese was off all I had was regular steak fries. Would've loved hot melty cheese on them like what you'd expect when getting cheese fries, so that was a pass. Overall I like it here and I'm a frequent visitor but melt that cheese! read more

Lets face it ...if you want a really good meal you would go to a privately own restaurant where you would have a real chef....if you go to one of any restaurant cahins the food will always be ok ...it is so automated they practically press cookand it is done! The other night we went out for my grndaughters birthday...Their were 19 of us including kids so we took up 3 large booths. Two servers which I thought would be more than enough. Our server seemed confident and relax and did not look like his first night working. Complaint 1: we ordered cocktails took 20 minutes to come out...soon after I ordered a glass of wine ...after 15 minutes an asst manager came over to ask if everything was alright ...I replied still waiting one wine...immediatley after server comes back and ask if I wanted another cocktail, are you kidding I asked for aw ine..oh he said...30 seconds later asst manager cam out with my wine..I asked, how come it only took you 60 seconds to get my wine...her answer don't know? ...he then took order and asked how many checks, we explaine seperate... my wife has a glutten allergy ...he siad he would ask... Complaint 2: food comes out know one has a clue who ordered what...how to play guessing came... Complaint 3: did ask chef if theri was glutten in my wife's dish that had rice in it...he said if she is able to eat rice I guess it is ok???...WHAT? in this day and age everyone knows what glutten is, except for the person that is preparing food... Complaint 4: check comes out it took 4 TIMES for them to get it right even with manager invovled...after we dictated what we ate and drink word for word... Complaint 5: manager never gave us discount, complimentary desert NOTHING! Final anaylsis: food was fine..no problem....all these chains are so automated you can train a monkey to cook for you! Well, went there last night, I haven't been there in a while, So my friend asked me and my wife to go, and the reason that I haven't been there, was because I really didn't really enjoy it, So why not give them another shot, well we got seated right away, And then asked what would we like to drink, My Normal answer is as always, A Miller lite, with a glass, The waiter says we don't sell it, My friend that was with me, laughed and since when, the guy must of been new, because he said I dont think they ever had it, So I looked over at the bar, and on the other wall, and what do I see 2 signs that say Miller light on tap, or Bottle, So when the waiter came back, I pointed them out to him, His answer was, Then we have to take them down, Otherwise good service, nice guy, But you would think, that maybe the manager, or owner would of sent out for quite a few cases, lets face for what you pay for a case of beer, and the profit they make at the bar anyway, no one would of questioned were it came from, But very bad management from The Owner on Down, I will just go back to their competition, where they never run out ICE COLD Miller Lites read more

We had a large group of 10 people total with 3 tables out together. Service was fast and the food was served perfectly on time as expected. I especially like the fresh bread and sweet butter. The sweet potatoes side with marshmallow-like creamy butter is fresh and creamy. My favorite side order! I got the sirloin tips, all cooked perfectly with creamy mushrooms and was juicy to bite into. Perfectly adequate sized food proportions. The waiter was very attentive and made sure to get everyone's needs met like re-filling water and swapping out plates with new clean plates. Good food, nice people and ok drinks. If you're allergic to peanuts, pick a different restaurant folks, because they're everywhere. They line dance about once an hour, turn over the tables pretty quickly, so that must be a part of the manual for the managers to train the staff. read more

The place by us (and probably all others) do not give reservations. They do, however, allow you to "call ahead" and give you a suggested time to show up. We did, they did, and in we walked at 6:50 PM as suggested. Unfortunately, we weren't seated for 30 minutes anyway. This place is pretty new, so maybe they're just working the kinks out. I do, however, wish they would go to one of these new systems they have at call-ahead restaurants that send texts to your cell phone updating you on your table. Works much better. I guess restaurants are all about the food....and the food here is OK. I'm not a big fan of the appetizers....had the onion thingie once and fried pickles another time. Both times, too greasy. The salads are fresh and good. I had the filet mignon 6 oz and it was tender and tasty, along with the mashed potatoes and string beans. As usual, I didn't have room for dessert, but we had some (meh) coffee. As far as atmosphere goes, its a little hokey for me. This is the same scenario as the Lonestar chain. Every half hour or so, some music comes on, and the wait staff has to entertain the customers with line dancing. The walls are covered with the usual texas references and paraphernalia. They have lots of TVs at the bar, and the beer is fresh and cold, so its probably a good place to come just to catch the game. I wish 'em luck, but I don't think they need it. I enjoyed Texas Roadhouse for pretty much everything but the steak. Make no mistake (no pun intended), it was decent and cooked the way I asked but I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between one from there or Outback. My friend and I unanimously enjoyed the sides and apps more than the meal itself. The complimentary bread with cinnamon butter, sides of green beans and fried mushrooms, and margaritas were all fantastic. I've no complaints about the service whatsoever. The atmosphere was casual and laid back as it one would expect it to be and our waitress was very friendly and attentive to our needs. Since we arrived at 9, the wait was only about 25 minutes but I get the impression it's much longer if you get there around typical dinner time. Overall, I'd consider going back for the apps and margaritas but I'm not anxious to do so any time soon. If you're looking for steak, I'd either go to Outback for less money and a similar quality or pay more to go to somewhere of a higher caliber. read more

Place is gross. The food is not very good at all and the restaurant is absolutely filthy. I will never go back there ever again. My beer was pretty good though, but that was out of a bottle. I came in to this restaurant, as usual, to get the pulled pork. It was quite good! My experience was better than usual, however, because a hostess, whom I haven't seen before, was excellent. This is by far my favorite steakhouse in NJ. I always get a 25oz bone in ribeye. The rolls are excellent with cinnamon butter. The Homdel store also has very good service better then the Parlin store. I like there steak better then Authur's and compare the quality of there steaks to the old homestead in NY which is also awesome. read more

The peanuts and rolls are a nice way to start off. The service was good. Started off with the sampler appetizer. The boneless wings we requested mild but they had no buffalo sauce on them !? only blue cheese on the side. I got the ribs expecting them to be tender and juicy but they were VERY DRY. I have tried numerous times to give this location a chance since it has opened near my hometown of Middletown. For a new location it has a number of issues. 1. You call ahead and request a table (not a booth). Your party has to wait forever to be seated due to restaurant having only a 1/2 a dozen tables. When finally seated your put in a booth after waiting more than an hour only to be told by management that wait would be 20 to 30 minutes longer. With out an apology from management for the mistake. ( 1st time and we left to dine elsewhere) 2. Clearly location has limited tables. So we try another time. Call head and request table and wait again longer than an your, only to be seated at a six top booth with an extended portion for two chairs to be added to seat 8 people and we only have a party of 2. It was clearly embarrassing and unprofessional to seat a party of 2 people at a place that can seat 6 to 8 persons. That from a professional stand point takes money away for the establishment and wait staff as well. (2nd time we left) 3. Management clearly doesn't care or are to busy to communicate with guest when we tried a 3rd time this time at the Old Bridge location.( same evening we left Holmdel location for 2nd time) We called ahead again waited an hour and 20 minutes. I inquired as to how much more of a wait time would we have and, was told that we were next for a table but, the table we were waiting on was finished dining but, were just conversing with their group. Hostess and manager stated that the table had been conversing for an hour and a half after completing their meals. Manager did try to find another table but nothing open ( 3rd time leaving). Now clearly at some point I have had some issues. But how do you correct them or accomodate a guest. At what point as a manager do you turn the table over for another party, your loosing business turning guests away due to limited tables, while letting a party chat for an hour and a half when other guests are waiting. This is superiorly poor customer service. Another issue I have is that I feel Texas Road house is discriminatory against larger people. I'm a big guy and, I have a disability where I can't sit in booths because of my injury. So I guess we won't go there to eat cause you cannot accommodate a party that requests a table because of limited table settings and the long wait times to actually get a table. All in all not a great way to start a new location or customer relationships. I don't feel that this should be allowed to become apart of a casual dining out routine. Thank You. read more

We go here quite often. Their steaks are consistently good as well as their chili. The ribs and pull pork are very tasty with a nice smokey flavor, but are typically hit or missed. Sometimes they are tough, tasteless and without enough sauce, but other times perfect. Their fried catfish is also pretty good, but for some reason they are much tastier reheated the next day. The service is friendly, but they frequently go AWOL on you. They do stand behind their quality, so if you don't like your meal, be sure to complain and they will whip you up a new dish. Went with a couple friends for their happy hour deals for $3 margaritas and drafts and to split a couple appetizers. Waiter cut us off after only a couple drinks saying how "he could get in trouble." Where as the guys at the bar right next to us were drinking draft after draft with no problem. What is the point of a happy hour if its not to get several drinks to celebrate with some friends? Never been "cut off" at a bar before let alone a chain restaurant. Kind of an uncomfortable and disappointing experience. Not sure if its because my friends and I are on the younger side, being 22 and 23 maybe the waiter thought we had the intention of blacking out in comparison to the other bar-goers? Still unfair to assume somebody's tolerance when we did nothing wrong and were celebrating the end of a long semester at school. Luckily we got to continue our night at the Chili's next door. I have been ordering for about two years now, mostly take out and we order two times every week now. I just wanted to update because this place honestly deserves 5 stars, from the staff to managers to chefs they are all really good people that insure accuracy of your food. There has been only one time when we ordered for 8 people that the food came out wrong and under cooked and within a minute of calling the manager offered to drive it to my house but we decided to just send me a gift certificate to cover the I spent. It is nice to know as a chain restaurant that they do value there customers. Also if your looking to save money and want something to fill you besides a steak, they have delicious and juicy burgers and awesome jalapeño poppers, as well as boneless chicken wings. I will start by saying I am not a big fan of chain restaurants, but this place does it right. I've been here several times for dinner waiting for my daughter to get our of a dance class and must say you will not find a better trained team than here. Everyone has been friendly and accommodating. Sit at the bar and you will have a great experience - guaranteed.
