Wow! Never had such poor service at a TRH! Table of 7 and not that terribly busy and we asked for silverware 3 times. Shouldn't this have automatically been given? Chili as a side, server asked if the person wants it before the meal and they respond yes, as well as another person with a salad. Salad is served and chili never brought out even with meal. Half the table is served, with one meal being the wrong ounces of steak than ordered. They correct it and bring the steak out rare rather than medium rare. 15 minutes later the other half of the table is served. Full slab of ribs are dry as anything needed a lot of sauce on side. Chili had to be requested as it was never brought out. Horrible experience. Very disappointing. read more

Texas Roadhouse is a solid mid scale steakhouse and is great if you're craving quality meat or fish at a lower rate. I don't come often, but it's generally a good experience when I do. Three of us went yesterday and surprisingly did not have to wait. We shared an appetizer of potato skins ($7), I got the 12oz salmon with mashed potatoes and green beans as my two sides ($12), and my mom and sister ordered the 6oz sirloin ($12) and 15oz salmon ($15), respectively. My sister said that she always orders the salmon when she comes so I decided to give it a shot. Fortunately the fish was delicious -- I only wish I got the larger size! The outside was crispy and the inside was silky smooth. It fell apart easily and was very well seasoned. I would definitely recommend the salmon! The mashed potatoes were also very tasty, though there were chunks of the potatoes' skin mixed inside, so I could see that being a problem for some people. I also tried a piece of the steak and would also recommend it. Cooked to a nice medium rare, the meat was pink in the middle. Good experience all around. read more

Ok, so the food isn't healthy. But you don't come to Texas Roadhouse if you want to trim your waistline. From the front of the house (hosts) to the managers and the servers (especially Zack and Katie), the restaurant is run extremely well, the food always tastes fresh and the prices are family friendly. My buddy, John, can't stop eating the chicken critters and fries (again, this isn't for the calorie conscious) and even the salmon tastes fresh and is seasoned perfectly. One last note, Zack could easily be a manager. Extremely friendly and very attentive (even when he wasn't our server, he came over in his free few seconds and asked if we needed anything). Another server/potential manager, Kate, was also great. She gave us impeccable service and always had a smile even when hustling through the restaurant. Such a fun place. Went to Texas Roadhouse at Holmdel on Sunday with the family. We ordered 3 steaks. I ordered mine medium rare but the steak came out medium done which is kinda OK to me. My wife ordered hers medium but came out well done. She was disappointed and we returned the entre back. The place was not even packed at 3pm. We were asked if we want a replacement but it has spoiled my wife's appetite at the moment. She ended up sharing her dinner with the rest of us. The manager of the store dropped by and asked if we wanted something else but it's kinda too late. He only took out the steak dinner from the bill and did not even offer anything else to make up for their mistake. Kinda disappointed with the establishment. Not sure if we ever gonna be back to this place. At least it will take a good few months before we will head back. Family dinner mode has been spoilt and no one enjoyed it. The table next to us had similar issue with one of their steak order. The manager came out to rectify it. Instead of making a new entre, they re-grilled the steak. No steak would taste good if it needs to put back on the grill again. They should have made entire new dish. This location is amazing! This was our first time visiting a Texas Roadhouse and we were overly impressed by the atmosphere, the service and the food. The atmosphere is great for people both young and old. They play country music throughout the restaurant and provide a real southern feel. The staff line dance at certain times and keep the place entertaining and moving. The service was impeccable to say the least. Our server Corrine was very knowledgeable and friendly throughout our visit. She is a people person and looks at the customers as more than a dollar sign. She kept our drinks bottomless and gave us pointers on what to order and had answers to all of our questions. The place was super clean! The food was simply to die for. Their famous rolls are simply to die for with their sweet taste topped with cinnamon butter. Each table has a bucket of peanuts and you pretty much just throw the shells on the floor, very unique! The ribs were amazing! They are as they say fall off the bone good! We also ordered their appetizer sampler which was a huge portion that we didn't expect from a chain restaurant. Went here for the first time yesterday for my Birthday. They really do like to make you feel welcome and when you have a birthday, they help you have fun celebrating. This place does not do reservations. You can call in but even then, it's a minimal help because you're still given a wait time after walking in...usually 15 minutes or so. My group of 4 walked in and only waited 4 minutes after calling in ahead though, so not too bad there for our experience. Onto the food and staff! The staff is very knowledgeable about the menu and drinks, the menus are easy to read and clean as well! Food - served fast and cooked spot on. I got the pulled pork dinner with mashed potatoes and buttered corn, was enough on the plate to take home after dinner. A few others in my group got the ribs which are stated to "Fall off the bone" and they for sure did! This place gets a solid 5 star rating from me. It's for sure worth going to if you're around the area. Edit - 12/29/2014 Recently we took a party of 9 to this place and due to their POS, (point of sale) system not allowing them to serve two tables efficiently as one bill, 90% of the food came out with complaints. Personally, I got cold mashed potatoes, returned them, and got an ever colder order back! This is a chain restaurant, but a very good one. They have peanuts on the tables so those with peanut allergies should be aware of that fact. I have been to this location on a number of occasions. The service has always been very good. I have sat at the bar and also at tables and the bar tenders and servers have always been attentive. As the name indicates, it has a country western theme and the decor matches this. I have tried and enjoyed the Cactus Blossum as well as their wings and tater skins. I would recommend those items. Their salads are also good if you are looking for a healthier option. I have had a number of their steaks including the New York Strip and Ft Worth Ribeye. Their bbq half chicken is very good and the grilled bbq chicken is excellent. I also enjoyed their ribs. Their prices are reasonable for what you get. Not usually a fan of chains. But had a craving for steak tonight, and because I didn't get a chance to dry age one I thought we'd (gasp) go to a steakhouse. Local places had huge portions and I just wanted a small portion. Checked out the menu online and thought, "why not?" although I was prepared to be disappointed. Greeted by peanut dust, showered with free appetizer samples and free peanuts, I was already starting to get full by the time we were seated. Add in the hot, sweet rolls with cinnamon maple butter and I was pleasantly surprised. Had no room for a full appetizer but made sure I got the medium rare prime rib (smallest portion) with sauteed mushrooms, steak fries and bacon/onion green beans. I was floored. This was by far one of the best cuts of prime rib I've had in a restaurant (still shocked that it is a chain). It had to be dry aged because it was tender, buttery, and the crust was salted/peppered just perfectly. If this is their normal, I am a fan. A huge fan. I had to share pieces with my hubby because I just couldn't have anymore. There are local places that have prime rib night but none come close to the buttery goodness I had tonight. Still shocked. Mind you, the sides were just ok. The green beans were overcooked (I like a little crunch) but the flavor was good. The fries were crispy, which I appreciated. But the service? Spot on. You can even pay via their App if you don't feel like waiting for your server (you didn't have to wait long - they have their game face on here). Let me say it again: I was surprised. My buddie and I had a TERRIBLE experience at the Texas Roadhouse in HOLMDEL, NJ. We enjoyed the sweet rolls with cinnamon butter, the ambience was apropos (i.e., what one would expect) for a "Texas Roadhouse" and the waiter was courteous. Lamentably, that was the best part of our visit. My buddie and I ordered two tall mugs of beer... His was Yuengling... Mine was Blue Moon (I expressed to the waiter that I expected the usual orange garnish on my beer). When served, the Blue Moon had a twist of lemon. When I expressed my dismay to the waiter, he acknowledged the fact and his response was that the bartender did not wish to slice an orange because it was close to closing. When I repeated my dissatisfaction he did not attempt to rectify the situation and instead offered an apology. I told him that this WILL not reflect well on him, the bartender nor the establishment. His response: "I'm really sorry". We ordered the Cactus Blossom as an appetizer. For the main course, my buddie ordered the 12 oz. Fort Worth Ribeye, Steak Fries and Chili with cheese and bacon. I ordered the 23 oz. Porterhouse with mushrooms and sautéed onions, Steak Fries with cheese and bacon and Chili with cheese and bacon. When the main course arrived, I asked about the appetizer. His response: "I thought I brought the appetizer... Would you like it now?" I said, "No... The main course has been served". He responded, "Would you like to take it home?". I said, "No... We wanted to enjoy it here... Just take it off our bill." As if that were not enough, the order was wrong. My buddie was served the Steak Fries with cheese and bacon. I immediately saw his displeasure and told the waiter to please serve him the Steak Fries as he ordered. My buddie, trying not to seem like a "dick" declined the request. I insisted... I told the waiter, somewhat emphatically... "I'M PAYING FOR IT... PLEASE BRING IT!". The waiter disappeared. We continued our meal. I thought the waiter was going to return with the Steak Fries as requested. My buddie did not eat the Steak Fries with cheese and bacon. I was satisfied with my Steak Fries with cheese and bacon. We both thought the Chili was "OK" (nothing special). We commented about the beef... There was nothing distinctive, no seasoning. For me, the only "distinction" was the added mushrooms and sautéed onions. We also discussed whether the beef were Prime, Choice or Select. We both agreed they settled for Choice (OK... But not for the price we paid IMHO). The waiter never returned with the Steak Fries as requested. When I brought this to his attention, he said "Oh... But your friend said it was OK..." I was able to muster sufficient composure to maintain decorum as I reiterated, "Yes... But I said... I'M PAYING FOR IT... PLEASE BRING IT!". In the end, I paid for the two tall mugs, the two main courses, the Chili and the TWO Steak Fries WITH cheese and bacon (Even though my buddie did not eat his). I did not make a fuss, because by this time, all I wanted was to GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE! I did make sure the appetizer was NOT included. I summarized our experience on the back of the receipt and added: WE WILL NEVER SET FOOT HERE AGAIN FOREVER! BTW... This was our first ever visit to a Texas Roadhouse. read more

Have been back several times since last fall and service has improved substantially. The waiters and managers are quick to make up for the shortfalls of the kitchen. Always crowded so if you are hungry, you can try the call ahead option. This doesn't mean you will be seated when you get there, but at least your name is on the list. All the steaks and sides are tasty, and that bread and sweet butter they give you in the beginning is delicious. Try not to eat all the bread or you won't be able to finish your entree. My wife and I were all set to go to "It's Greek To Me" and when we went to turn around I was intrigued by the neon signs of the Texas Roadhouse. so we decided to try something new. Big mistake? No. Medium mistake? Perhaps. The Texas Roadhouse is a bright, noisy, lively family friendly chain restaurant. There are big warnings about peanut dust. They offer free peanuts on the table so if you have a peanut allergy turn back now. The waitress grabs hot rolls before she seats you. That means the moment you sit down there are hot rolls waiting for you. This is nice and I think more restaurants should adopt this policy. The rolls are hot and freshly baked but honestly beyond that unremarkable. How is a fresh baked roll unremarkable you ask? I don't know, they reminded me of Pillsbury rolls and I assume it's a similar process. Some giant factory squirts out the dough and they just bake it at the individual restaurants. Another reviewer mentioned they taste weird like they have honey in them. I don't know if they taste weird but they certainly have honey in them. So if you think honey tastes weird, don't eat them. They also serve them with warm cinnamon butter as part of what I can only assume is a mandate to see how much sugar and fat they can feed you. We ordered sweet tea which tasted sweet and like tea. This is a big thing in the South. It's just ice tea that someone else put sugar in. I ordered the sirloin steak medium rare with the caesar salad and mashed potatoes. My wife had the salmon with house salad and sweet potato. At this point the waitress asked if she could, "load" our potatoes for us. Mine with sour cream butter, cheese, and bacon. My wife's with caramel and marshmallows. Don't be fooled. She's not being nice. She is upselling you at a $1 a pop. I don't think a $1 is a lot of money, and it does mention, in an offhand way in the menu that this is an additional charge. But I didn't realize it at the time and I feel like any time they're going to charge you they should be explicit. Would you like us to load your potato for just $1 more is sufficient. The salads were unremarkable. The lettuce was fresh and crisp but the homemade dressing wasn't anything special and was greatly improved by a dash of salt. This is not a health conscious restaurant so I don't think they were looking out for me, it was just under seasoned. The steak was very good and perfectly cooked. The mashed potatoes which I elected to get with just sourcream and butter again needed a bit of salt. And I'm not a Nancy Crater on M-113. No? Nothing? The salt monster from the classic Star Trek episode The Man Trap? Anyways, I'm not someone who uses a lot of extra salt. I stand bye my feeling that again it was under seasoned. Maybe they assume everyone goes with the cheddar and bacon? My wife enjoyed her salmon. She enjoyed her sweet potato which was the size of a football and truly loaded with marshmallow and caramel. I thought the service was not great. Yes it was busy. Yes it was a Saturday night. But it's not their first Saturday night so staff accordingly, right? The waiters all wear shirts that say "I Love My Job" on the back and felt a little sarcastic to me. As if someone had stuck a kick me sign on them. We did not get dessert. Dinner was $40 with tip. One word; Amazing! I have absolutely nothing bad to say. The service was amazing! I came today for just a nice price/ affordable dinner with my boyfriend and our server, Giana, was amazing! The food was brought to us so quickly. She refilled our drinks before we even noticed how low we were. She asked us twice how our food was and how we were doing. While taking our order we were laughing with her and were even able to joke with her. Kudos to the chef as well! My boyf got a 20oz Ribeye medium rare and it was exactly as my picky meat loving boyfriend hoped for. I like this place a lot! Every time I've visited, the service has been excellent and the waitresses are extremely friendly and attentive. I usually stick to the ribeye medium with a side order of ribs. The steak is alway cooked to perfection. I also have to order one of their fancy drinks and they never skimp on the alcohol.
