What I didn't like is the busboy or server or whoever he was, who continuously stood behind my seat, no more than 2 feet over my shoulder! I myself am in shock that I'm writing this review for Texas Roadhouse. I love, love, love to frequent this location the service is usually good and so is the food. However, this past Valentine's Day my wife ordered our food for pick up since it was during a weekday and we had worked late that day. When she brought the food home this is what we were presented with burnt food that you couldn't eat and smashed up dinner rolls. I give places chances before I go to social media .... and thrice ( 3x ) times I've been sourly disappointed. The kitchen was horribly slow and the wait staff suffers. Our food took 40+ mins and came out to the table cold and unappealing. We have been customers of Texas Roadhouse for years. Have eaten at them all across the country, but this one is the worst we have been too. We stopped for lunch today and everything about the experience was bad. The server took forever to bring three waters. When the appetizer arrived she forgot the plates and went back to get them....and never came back. I had to flag down another waitress to have them bring us plates. Then the server just let all of the plates stack up. She never came to take away the appetizer plates or roll basket. She also never came to ask us if we wanted additional rolls. As for the food. Everything was dry. My daughter had Mac and cheese and it was completely dried out. The mashed potatoes were so dry they were inedible. The potato skins on the appetizer platter were cold and dry like they'd been made hours before and set out to wait for us. Overall the food was like it was day old catering food that sat out overnight. That and the horrible service will ensure we never eat here again. It's too bad too. The rolls are delicious. read more

I absolutely love the TRH in Bowie, MD, so when I found out there was one in LaPlata, which is a bit closer to where my boyfriend lives, I was THRILLED!!! We have visited this location twice and both times were just OK. The first time we went, I discovered that the food did not have the same taste/quality as the one in Bowie. I get it...different chefs, but really? The first time we went, I had the grilled shrimp dinner. It was ok but not nearly as awesomely seasoned as the same dish in the Bowie location. I let it slide.... This last time we went, I had the pulled pork, which dinner, which is a fav at the Bowie location and based on the picture I've attached, someone forgot to pull the port apart before serving it to me! I was disgusted and vowed never to return to this location unless I am in the mood for a salad. Hopefully they couldn't mess that up. Finally, we had to ask for bread after being seated for a few minutes. The one in Bowie SEATS you with bread. There just is no comparative. I was part of a group of 18 that has a reservation for dinner. The reservation was set for 4:30 and we still had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. During that time, my husband went to the bar to order drinks. He asked for a margarita with no sour mix and he was told all of the margaritas were premade. Makes no sense to me that a restaurant with a full bar can not make a margarita vice using a mix. Then they attempted to seat us at 3 tables. This was not enough space. The hostess and what was possibly either the manager or lead both stated that the booths seats our party size. We had people of varying sizes and we would have been extremely tight in the booths. When we asked about a 4th table that was empty next to our other tables, the hostess said "No. That is for another table". After several of us indicated we could not fit in just three tables, the manager stated she could give us another table. We really should not have had to go through that to be seated. The food was average. I ordered a skinny margarita (which had no sour mix by the way) and it had way too much lime juice. The time to get our checks was extremely long and several people in the party had issues with their checks. read more

I love it here! This is a great local option for good bread, salad, steak, ribs, etc. The complementary rolls they serve when you sit down are sooooo good! They give you 4 rolls and a delicious honey butter to go with them. I do wish they gave more butter for the rolls cause it is so good. They will give you more if you ask though. You also can pick out your steak before you sit down. They have them on display and you can put a tag on it for when you order it. It's a unique thing I haven't seen any other restaurant do. I absolutely love their side salad. It has eggs, tomatoes and cheese on it and it is so good!! I just love those toppings together and it is different than your typical carrots and cucumbers that you get everywhere else. You can also get a larger version of this salad as an entree with fried chicken tenders on top. I get this often! The only thing I don't care for is the open peanut bins and crushed peanut shells all over the floor! I get that is their claim to fame but it's just so messy and feels weird to be crunching on peanut shells everywhere you walk! It took more than 15 minutes to receive a replacement steak that was still not medium rare but by the time I got it, my dining companions had finished their meal so I just accepted the steak and asked for it to go. The manager just asked me if I wanted yet another replacement steak, but by then it was way too late. Now Texas Roadhouse also cranks up its music extremely loud, so loud you can't hear the person next to you so they can do line dancing in the aisles by their employees. This is my very first time coming here despite living in the area for over 20 years. I came with a very large party and we fortunately had reservations because this place was packed on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated pretty quickly despite this, however they attempted to seat our party of about 20 adults in 3 booths. That definitely was not going to work. Eventually we were given 4 booths and things went relatively smoothly after that. The place was very noisy but I could still hear everyone at my booth, the prices were reasonable and the food was delicious. Hadn't visited TR in quite some time. First time at this location. Went with my mom and we sat at the bar. My mom ordered a Cosmo for drink and I had the Old Fashion. Drinks were good, service was great and good hit the spot. Randall was our bartender/server and had great energy and was very attentive and friendly. My mom ordered a trio with ribs, ribeye steak with mushroom and onion toppings, and shrimp with a loaded potato and house salad. Needless to say she needed a box for leftovers. Honestly, I could eat the sides by myself the string beans and baked potato will always be my go too. All of the food is packed with flavor, and the chili is delicious as well. May 14, 2022 - we called ahead to reserve seats because we had a party of 11. While we were waiting to be seated a female employee came to us and stated she can only seat 4 of us now. When we asked why she was only seating 4 of our party of 11 she acted as if she didn't care. We asked her if the rest of our party would at least going to be seated near the first 4 and she just said she couldn't guarantee the rest of our party would even be near the first four. This employee acted as if she didn't give two cents about even trying to accommodate our party of 11 to make sure we were togethe. Who wants their party to be separated for a celebration dinner. I like to use the old three strike system for steakhouses before I totally give up. Here they are: 1. It took about an hour to get our food. Steak wasn't prepared properly, and service was nonexistent after food was brought out. 2. Something about the quality of meat is off. It isn't what it used to be and has an odd texture. Appetizer never showed up, so we ate our meal when it arrived. It still showed up on the bill. The waitress walked away after we mentioned it and returned with the cold appetizer. 3. Months later I was convinced to try this place one more time. Came in for lunch, about 30 minutes after they opened. Got seated in the back.. And there we sat. Went here last night with my travel buddy, her ex-bf, her bestie, and her family after coming back from her sister's Addams Family play at La Plata High School (it was too funny and cute lol). The bread alone should earn this place 5 stars. Customer service has tons of room for opportunity: #1 don't sit customers down if you don't have a server to assist #2 customers should be greeted by the server once they sit down - not 20 minutes later only to say someone will be with you. There is no one working this section right now. #3 give the customers bread & drinks (this will always save the day regardless of subpar service) #4 don't forget important items (silverware, appetizer plates, refilling drinks) #5 servers shouldn't make excuses such as I just bring the food - I don't make it. When my food arrived it was just meat on the plate - no sides. Double check the order prior to bringing it to the table would fix this issue. #6 don't forget to thank the customer for dining and ask them to return and specifically ask for you by name. #7 review payment options (our server asked if we needed anything else and never came back). Took a while but we figured out how to use the tablet for payment on the table. It was weird leaving - felt like we were running out on a tab. I've been to Texas Roadhouse back in New Jersey my home state where I've ate multiple times. I came to this location in maryland on 6/20/18 since I am here on vacation and it was horrible. I ordered a smothered chicken with caesar salad and loaded mash. The salad was given on a dirty plate and after asking for a new one I received the same salad that looked bad just on a cleaner plate. As for my husband, his roasted bbq chicken was dry and had no flavor. The waitress Alyssa was very kind but the runner who brought the salad was very sarcastic by saying "here's your new salad".
