With two busy kids it's hard to find a sit down restaurant where we don't feel like we need to apologize for our loud kids. Luckily Texas Roadhouse is a loud atmosphere and helps drown out our kids singing loud. Josh was our server and he was nice, quick, and didn't mind the extra mess. We had the ribs and steak, and the country fried chicken. It was delicious, came out fast and hot. Trying it again w/ out-of-town guest. Potato skins are excellent!!! Need to get more on next visit. BBQ sandwich - dry meat. Still too loud in there. The birthday screaming gets on nerves! Lemonade w/o flavor is great ! Steak waS excellent. Pork chops w/ mushrooms & onions was excellent. Waitress didn't give me my military discount. Told waitress we don't like spicy/hot foods so she got us Cheyenne wings ????? Um nope. BBQ honey wings were good though. Baked potatoes had SALT on them YUCK! Food and service was as expected, but the wait to be seated was a hot mess! When we checked in, we were told there would be a 15-20 minute wait. After about 30 minutes, our pager went off and we were pleased, only to be told to "stand by the cactus". After 15 minutes of standing by the cactus, and seeing many others seated, we asked what was going on and were told we were "put on deck" for a table. Another 10 minutes and we found a manager and asked, and were given many excuses about "the girls up front are all new and we are trying to work out our process." After what was probably another 10 minutes, we were finally seated. This was all very frustrating because not only did our 15-20 minute wait become more than an hour, but we gave up our seats and were forced to "stand by the cactus" for more than 30 minutes - all of this with a toddler in tow (you try holding a 26 lb toddler for 30+ minutes because you are told to stand right in the path of heavy traffic). While the service and food were as expected, this ridiculous seating issue is a deterrent to visiting this location again. I was also disappointed with nothing more than the apathetic excuses we were given. Had we known the wait was more than an hour we would have gone to a different establishment. read more

What can you say it is a chain restaurant with decent food and adult beverages. The food we had on our visit to the Layton location was good, nothing extraordinary. We were seated in the bar which works for us and it was going well until they sat a father and his three young kids directly next to us, they proceed to talk at the top of their lungs and kick the seat to no end, they ruined our meal. The question is why did they sit them in the bar, the place was all but empty and the father drank soda so they could have annoyed someone else in the restaurant area. My review is based on the food not this horrible experience. My only request of Texas Roadhouse is to try and respect the "adult" spaces and sit annoying folks like this in a back corner away from other folks. read more

Went to this location with my wife for our 3rd year anniversary, but left empty handed. We tried this location after mediocre service from the Ogden location. After being seated we were genuinely forgotten about , as no one approached us for the first 20 min . Those seated at the same time around us were given the customary rolls and drinks as well as had interaction with a staff . After watching this and waiting a bit longer in hopes that they were busy it was clear no one was going to provide service even being seated in a high traffic location. Possibly the worst dinning experience I've had. I ordered a salad sweet potato and southwest chicken. The salad had a piece of plastic in it. The chicken was so hard that I would cut with a steak knife. So the took the order back to replace. When the brought the food back the sweet potato was dry and over cooked. I went to the Layton location, next to Layton Hills Mall. My family and I were seated in a reasonable time. Our server was Kendra. She was SO GOOD! She was friendly, pretty, and sharp! She was quick to respond to my families various drink and food orders. She kept us ALL happy which rarely happens. i had my birthday dinner at Texas Roadhouse with my husband, my son, his wife, and their two children ages 6 and 1 1/2. We were seated quickly (especially for a weekend night), and our server, Brady, was super attentive. He said he was fairly new, but you wouldn't know it. He made sure to see if we wanted everything on our salad, and when I ordered my salmon with no sauce, he made sure to ask if I still wanted lemon. We didn't have to wait for refills -- he was on top of it. When there was a delay with a beer, he came and apologized and explained the bar was slammed, and that he'd get it to us as soon as possible. It wasn't but 3-4 more minutes before it brought it. The meal was delicious, cooked just as we asked, and very tasty! I would recommend this Texas Roadhouse to everyone! read more

Put your name on the list, drive to the restaurant, wait in the car for your text message, go right in and sit down. I don't know what it is about this location. We've gone to this location twice and both times have been extremely disappointing. The last time we went and enjoyed a meal our server was fantastic, but the food was not great & this time the food was less than mediocre and our server was not friendly at all. It seemed like he just really wasn't into it at all. As for the food very bland & their baked potatoes are really bad. First of all , they taste microwaved , and secondly they taste stale as if they were the leftover potatoes from the day before. I have had leftover baked potatoes at home and heated them up next day and this is exactly what it tasted like tonight. Even the inside of the potato was hard and stale. My main disappointment was the attitude of the server, he acted like we were inconveniencing him every time we asked for a refill , or extra napkins etc. - And saying it's a busy Friday night is not good enough for us because if you choose to work in this profession , you already know what to expect , so if you can't handle it maybe it's the wrong profession- Unfortunately, we probably will not be returning to this location as we've eaten here twice and left disappointed both times- read more

I love Texas Roadhouse. I've been to this location about 6 times. I've had steak and burgers here and I've never been disappointed. I've been to a bunch of expensive steakhouses in my life but in reality when I'm crazing a steak and a big beer. I go here. They serve amazing rolls and as many peanuts as you can eat. The food is always good and the portions and more than satisfying. The sides are average. Called at 4:50 they said the soonest call ahead seating was 5:30, arrived at 5 pm checked in and was seated on a Saturday night at 5:05 pm. Server was awesome! They didn't have and tater skins but with the no wait and the great service they get 5 stars, great customer service all the way around! Came here for my birthday on a Monday. Who knew they had Kid's Night? They had a balloon animal guy and a guy dressed up in as an armadillo. The place was pretty busy for a Monday. 2 girls showed up at our table. I assumed one was in training but I couldn't tell which one was training who. Ive been to this location many many times and usually i get great service. The last few times they have really messed up. First they didn't know which table we were supposed to be at and they walked us to a 6 person table for 3 of us and then had us walk around the whole place before sitting us. No biggie everyone makes mistakes right? Well then we order our food, we order medium rare and two of the steaks came out rare (the cow was almost mooing it was so rare) not only were they rare but i found two hairs on my steak And then they gave me the wrong side! I couldn't eat my food after finding hairs in it and they didn't even seem to care! We paid FULL price for food that i didn't touch because it had hair on it. There service was great but the food was messed up way to much for me and i cant believe i got a messed up steak not once but twice while i was there and nobody bothered to do anything about it. My wife and I have been to this location six times and the service never ceases to amaze us. The managers and staff always greet us at the table and the food seems to only be better every time. The Texas size combos are the best since you can try a variety of entrees packed into one. The ribs and pulled pork are one of my favorite. We arrived at this restaurant on 04.20.21 at 3:45 p.m. thinking it would be easy to get a seat right away. We were told it would be a 15 minute wait. After 35 minutes, people were everywhere outside waiting for seating. We approached the hostess and was told the employees were having a meeting inside. I said we are waiting for this long and your employees are having a meeting. What kind of customer service is this. We waited 10 more minutes and decided to go somewhere else. Customer service is something that really needs to be worked on. I did a call ahead to be put on their waitlist, around 530 but still did not get a seat till after 7. Parties who did not call ahead were seated before me as well as bigger parties of the same scenario were seated before my party and I. My husband and my parents came on a Monday right when they opened at 4pm. There were also several other groups there for a table so I can only imagine how busy they are on weekend. All of our meals were very tasty (my dad and I both ordered off the early bird menu 4pm-6pm M-F). My husband loved his ribeye steak and shrimp.
